There are 3 different variants of the
RVP available.
Every variant has a different way of
communication to its connected
controller.
We will show the different types of
communication for the RVP 2400,
RVP 3900 and RVP 5000.

The RVP 2400 can be connected to up of 5
Regard 24xx / RailGard-XX Controller to
visualize the data.
A configuration on the RVP 2400 is not
necessary. The addressing will be done via
the Regard 24x0 configuration software.

Each controller has to get its own
address. The addressing starts from 1
up to 5, regarding the quantity of
connected controller.
Baud rate, Bits, Parity and Stop bit
must not be changed. The default
settings are 19200/8N1.
The controller will be visible on the
RVP 2400 with the same numbers
addressed in the configuration
software.

Communication
The Regard 24xx / RailGard-XX controller will be connected to the internal or external converter
(SC00041 / SC00042). The converter transforms the incoming signals of the controller from RS232
to RS485. The RVP 2400 gets the data from the RS485 interface and make them visible on the
screen.

Internal the Regard 39x0 system
communicates via the CAN Bus
protocol.
To make it possible to visualize these
data on the RVP 3900 they first have
to be transformed to the Modbus RTU
protocol.
This will be done by the Regard 3900
Modbus Gateway (SC00083).
Each Regard 3900 that should be
connected to a RVP 3900 needs this
gateway.
(5x Regard 39X0 = 5x Gateway)
In every delivery there's a software and
a Nullmodem cable for the
configuration (addressing).

Das RVP 5000 get's the required data from
the Modbus Gateway Card.
In the standard application the RVP 5000 is
able to visualize up to 99 channel from only
1 Regard system.
As the Regard system only transfers status
messages and values and not any data of
the system configuration the RVP 5000
needs a configuration file.
