Dräger Babylog V Series Quick start guide

Disassembly/Assembly Neonatal Expiratory Valve
Open the ap by lifting the lower
edge upwards.
Close the ap.
Turn the locking ring to the left
end position.
Turn the locking ring to the right
until it clicks into place.
Remove and empty the water
trap container.
Remove the muer from the
expiratory valve.
Turn the locking ring as far as
possible to the left and push the
expiratory valve into the tting.
Remove the expiratory valve from
the tting.
Remove the diaphragm.
Do not disassemble further.

Attach the diaphragm onto the edge
of the expiratory valve housing.
Make sure that it tts properly.
Attach the muer to the
expiratory valve.
Connect the water trap container.

Disassembly/Assembly Neonatal Flow Sensor
Remove the ow sensor housing
from the ypiece.
Fit the breathing hoses to
the neonatal ow sensor.
Disconnect plug of the ow
sensor cable from the
neonatal ow sensor.
Connect plug of the ow
sensor cable to the
neonatal ow sensor.
Fit the insert into
the ow sensor.
Gently press the knobs on
both sides while removing the
insert out of the neonatal
ow sensor.

Connect the hose to the nozzle
of the expiratory valve.
Connect the other end of the
hose to a suitable nozzle on the
load carrier.
Machine cleaning of the Neonatal Expiratory Valve
This guideline does not replace or amend the instructions for use. Please always refer to the
reprocessing instruction in the latest instruction for use of the components. The instructions
for use and the hospital guidelines and policies always have to be observed.
Position the components
(muer, diaphragm, water trap
container) to be stable.
Prepare the cleaning agent and the
disinfectant in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Place the components in the
cleaning agent.
Ensure that the solution ushes
all surfaces and interior spaces.
Swirl the components back and
forth at least 3 times. Make sure
the cleaning agent reaches all
surfaces and interior spaces.
Fill a syringe that can hold at least 50 mL with the cleaning agent. Remove the
ow sensor housing from the cleaning agent and spray at least 50 mL through
each opening. Put the ow sensor housing back into the cleaning agent.
* The Neonatal Flow Sensor can also be used with Evita® V-Series.

Reprocessing instructions
Manual cleaning
Fill a syringe that can hold at least 50 mL with the cleaning agent again.
Remove the ow sensor housing from the cleaning agent again and
spray 50 mL through each opening.
* The Neonatal Flow Sensor can also be used with Evita® V-Series.
Reprocessing of ISO 15 Neonatal Flow Sensor
and Y-piece Neonatal Flow Sensor*
Check the components for visible soiling and repeat steps, if necessary.
Check the components for visible damage, paying particular attention to the
measuring wires and their pins, and replace if necessary.
Allow the components to dry completely.

After the contact time, rinse the components in the water bath (at least drinking water quality)
until no cleaning agent residue is visible.
Shake out the residual water carefully.

Disinfection
Disinfection
At the beginning of the contact time, swirl the components back and forth at least 3 times. Make sure the disinfectant
reaches all surfaces and interiors. At the end of the contact time, swirl the components back and forth again
at least 3 times.
After the contact time, rinse the components in the water bath (at least drinking water quality) until no disinfectant residue is visible.
Place the components in the disinfectant. Observe the specied contact time.
Shake out residual water carefully.
Allow the components to dry com-
pletely.
