PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Thank you for choosing the Dr Trust Wheelchair. This is a manual, folding,
lightweight wheelchair, suitable for frequent users who require lightweight and
portable assistance without the need for customization. It provides ease of
manoeuvring, easy transfer in and out of it. It is mainly composed of frame, support,
leg bracket, armrest, pedal bracket, front wheel, rear wheel, brake, seatback pad,
and foot pedal. Its frames are made of steel, seat and back are of oxford cloth
material. The front or rear wheels are solid plastic wheels. Its maximum weight
capacity is 100 kg.
INTENDED USE
Serve as the traveling tool for the handicapped, patients, and elderly who have
action or movability diculties. It is intended for indoor and/or outdoor use.
GETTING STARTED
Please familiarize yourself with the main components, mentioned in the
illustration below.

PREPARING FOR USE
Unfolding
ŸPointing your fingers inward with the palm of your hand on the frame, push
down until the seat is fully lowered. Make sure the frame is firmly seated in its
holder.
ŸBy holding the armrests, pull outwards.
ŸFlip the foot plates down and it is ready to use.
Folding
ŸIt folds flaer and easier to transport (e.g. used with car hoist) and store.
ŸSwing up the footplates.
ŸPull up on the seat upholstery by holding it in the centre of its front and back
edge.
ŸFolding is now completed.
ŸPress the two release levers on the backrest frame (push handle tubes) to
fold the backrest down for compact storage and easy transport.

Below we are only presenting our recommendations to get in and out of the
wheelchair safely.
USAGE
Geing In
Caution
ŸAlways ensure that the front casters are in line with the rear wheels and
pointing forwards and that the back of the chair is secure either against a
wall or firmly held by an aendant.
1. Make sure brakes are ON and the foot plates are folded up.
3. L ower yourself onto the seat slowly (if you are aendant, help the user
t o lower into the seat, allowing to use the armrest for support).
5. P ut your feet on foot plates and sit comfortably or help the user to
p lace his/her feet on them comfortably.
2. Stand with your back to the chair and put your hands on the armrests.
4. Turn the foot plates back down.
6. Release both hand brakes.
Geing Out
ŸWhere possible, make sure that the rear wheels of the chair are against a wall
or it must be firmly held by an aendant. Or, drive the wheelchair as close to
the bed as possible and ensure, that front wheels are facing towards. Engage
both hand brakes.
ŸThe user should face the bed without regard on the fact if the other person
helps or not.
ŸMove the wheelchair near to the final destination. (e.g. transferring user to
the bed).
Caution
ŸDo not stand on the footplates when geing in and out of the wheelchair.
ŸMake sure that the footplates are flipped up when transferring in and out of
the chair.
ŸPlease make sure that the brakes are applied to prevent the chair from
sliding away.
Using The Pelvic Belt
ŸPush the two parts of the belt through the buckle to make the belt longer or
shorter..
ŸAdjust the belt to make it a perfect fit to your body.
ŸWhen you sit on the wheelchair, identify the required length of the belt to
fasten it correctly.
ŸKeep the pelvic belt in 45 degrees for comfortable usage.
ŸPull the two parts of the belt tight.

ŸPush the buckle up to the plastic clip so that the belt cannot slip out of
position.
ŸCheck that there is no gap between the clip and the buckle.
Caution
ŸTighten the belt until you can just get your fingers between user and seat
belt. Please make sure that the belt is fastened correctly as recommended.
ŸWhen you don't use it, please fasten the belt to avoid the belt dropping into
rear wheels during motion.
ŸProp up your body and move sideward slowly, using transfer board. Be careful
not to hit the brake or other components of wheelchair.
ŸLi the armrests / side panels on the side of the wheelchair, on which the
transfer to the bed will take place.

IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
ŸDo not aempt inclines without anti-tippers installed in the downward
position. Do not aempt any incline or decline greater than six degrees (10%
grade, or one foot of rising or fall per ten feet of ramp length).
ŸDo not tie down or aach anything to the wheels. This may cause tipping and
possibly result in injury or damage to the wheelchair.
ŸIt must not be loaded with more than 100 kg in normal use.
ŸDo not operate this wheelchair on streets or roadways.
ŸAvoid skin burns during usage of the wheelchair in the direct sunlight.
Different elements of the product might become hot.
ŸThis wheelchair does not offer seating or occupant restraint equivalent to
the seat provided in a motor vehicle.
ŸDo not operate this wheelchair on hilly or rough terrain, sand, wet or icy
surfaces, or surfaces with impaired traction. Ensure that pathway is clear of
all obstacles.
ŸTo increase your safety while traveling in a motor vehicle, always transfer to
the vehicle seat and use the restraint provided by the vehicle manufacturer.
ŸDo not stand or step on the footplates while transferring to or from your
ŸThe footplates' lowest point should clear the ground to permit proper
clearance of potential obstruction.
ŸTilting the wheelchair backward until it reaches its balance point could result
in personal injury to the user.
ŸDo not turn the wheelchair while going downhill, as the wheelchair could tip
over.
ŸUnauthorized modification could change the structure of the wheelchair,
void the warranty, and create a hazardous condition resulting in serious
personal injury.
ŸEnsure that the wheelchair is on a stable, level surface and engage wheel
locks before and during transfer.
ŸDo not place your hand between the seat rail and the side panel.
ŸAlways engage wheel locks before transferring, using a wheelchair li, or
using an elevator.
ŸOperate only with anti-tippers in place when leaning or tipping. When in use,
anti-tippers must be installed in the downward position.
ŸDo not lean on this wheelchair or use it as a walker—these are practices that
could result in loss of balance and personal injury.
ŸDo not place device near to the sources of heat or fire (fireplaces, ovens,
heaters, stoves). It is not recommended to smoke cigarees when seated on
the device.
ŸDo not use your wheelchair on escalators.
ŸWheel locks are no brakes. Do not use the wheel locks to slow down your
wheelchair, or while the wheelchair is moving. Wheel locks are only intended
to keep the wheelchair in place when it is at a complete stop.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
ŸCleaning and disinfection is necessary aer use.

unfolding.
ŸIf the chair begins to creak or becomes dicult to move, lubricate its parts.

wheel locks before transfer.
ŸDo not step on the footplates; this could cause the wheelchair to tip. Fold
them up, and either detach them or swing them aside.
ŸThere is a critical moment when there is lile or no seat platform beneath
you. Take every precaution to reduce this unsupported distance before you
aempt the transfer.
ŸTransferring into or out of a wheelchair is a very dicult maneuver.
ŸExercise extreme care when transferring without the aid of either an
aendant or a patient li.
ŸConsult your physician, nurse, or physical therapist for assistance in
developing your individual technique. Make sure that the wheelchair is
stabilized, and will not move or slide during the transfer. Take extra
precautions to prevent tipping.

STORAGE
If you plan to store your wheelchair for a long period of time, try to cover and leave it
in a dry, cool and ventilated place protected from sunlight and heat. Before using it
again, must undertake a complete wheelchair maintenance check.
