Installation instructions and regulations
Terrace awning Family EVO
1.1. Safety Tips
CAUTION!
To ensure safety it is important to read this instruction cafefully
This instruction of montage should be kept, and in case of reselling the awning,
passed to another user
Information
● It is required to take safety measures to prevent accident while working at
heights
● A ladder or scaffolding shall be so positioned as to ensure its stability during
use
● Iit is necessary to possess required qualifications to work at heights
1. . Content of delivery.
● 1x awning: Family EVO
● Ordered types of monting brackets (wall and ceiling ) an amount consistent with table:

● 1x crank (for awnings with manual drive or NHK*)
● 1x cord for the test run and/or programming the engine (additionally ordered)
1.3. General guidlines
CAUTION!
Montage of the awning should be performed by a specialised company Depending on
the conditions of the monting surface, proper means/tools should be used for
montage Company/personel performing the montage is responsible for proper
selection of montage method and tools
Information
The awning is supplied without montage materials The components of this awning,
conform with the requirement and rules of technique Changes in construction is
possible only by DRAGON, Korgul, Prochowski Sp J premission
1.4. Qualifications of the specialized service.
● complies with safety guidelines provided/required by local law
● Is qualified and has experience in using ladders and/or scaffolding
● takes responsibility of transport and proper storing
● has experience in using tools and equiptment
● has a permition/license for usage of montage methods, tools and equiptment

● had montage training courses at Dragon company
● instructs the user about proper/safe usage of the awning
Information
Awning montage, adjustment and trial runs may be only performed by a qualified
montage company/persolel Montage company is responsible for proper installing and
adjusting the awning (by using proper anchors for montage surface) adjusting the
awning and testing it
1.5. Anchorage and hoisting on ropes
If awning is to be hoisted on ropes, it is required to:
● unpack the awning
● solidly anchorage awning on rope, in order to prevent realising
● when hoisting awning on ropes it is required to keep it in a horizontal position at all times
.0. Necessary tools
● ladder / scaffolding
● spirit level tool
● rope to hoist
● measuring tape
● hammer, drill and drill bits (depending on the montage surface)
● allen key(allen 3mm, 6mm)
● wrench (SW11 included to the product)
● socket wrench (SW13)
● tools suitable for the chosen montage method (anchor type etc)
3.0. Order of assembly
3 1 check the content of delivery
3 2 mark and attach mounting brackets to the monting surface
3 3 bringing power to the awning engine (in case of ordering an electric engine)
3 4 hang awning on brackets and fasten it
3 5 set the angle of the awning
3 6 regulate the position of the front bar
3 7 prepare electric connection (in case of ordering an electric engine)
3 8 Usage of crank (for awnings with manual drive or NHK)
3.1. Check the content of delivery
before mounting, it is required to check:
● if the awning type, colour and patern of the fabric, colour of construction, drive type (crank / engine)
and drive side is in accordance with the order
● if proper parts in proper quantity were delivered (look Content of delivery pos 1 2 )
3. . Mark and attach mounting brackets to the monting surface
The awning is supplied with brackets for installing to the wall or ceiling – compatible with the order Awning
meets the specified wind class only if it is installed in accordance with the manufacturers precommendations,
the right type of mounting brackets including appropriate anchors, at the appropriate monting surface
Before installing, check whether the monting surface is suitable for mounting – in case of weaker strength of
the monting surface structure it is required to order additional mounting brackets (quantity delivered as
standard has been provided for the monting surface with B25 class concrete strength )
● Mark on the monting surface where the brackets should be placed and then drill holes (location of
the bracets are shown on the figure bellow)

Brackets - both brackets should be placed at a distance of not more than 10 cm from the outer edge of the
arm bracket (posion A), symmetrical on both sides of the awning If there is not enough place between the
arm bracket and the side cassette holder, montage brackets should be placed no farther than 5 cm from the
inner edge of the bracket arm (position B), symmetrical on both sides of the awning
3 Brackets (if ordered additionally) - two brackets should be placed at a distance of not more than 10 cm
from the outer edge of the arm bracket (position A), symmetrical on both sides of the awning if there is not
enough place between the arm bracket and the side cassette holder, montage brackets should be placed no
farther than 5 cm from the inner edge of the bracket arm (position B), symmetrical on both sides of the
awning One bracket should be placed in the middle of the awnings width (position D) with tolerance of 5
cm
4 Brackets (if ordered additionally) – two brackets should be placed at a distance of not more than 10 cm
from the outer edge of the arm bracket (position A), symmetrical on both sides of the awning If there is not
enough place between the arm bracket and the side cassette holder, montage brackets should be placed no
farther than 5 cm from the inner edge of the bracket arm (position B), symmetrical on both sides of the
awning Two brackets should be placed at a distance of not more than 10 cm from the outer edge of the arm
holder (item C), symmetrically on both sides of the awning
5 Brackets (if ordered additionally) - additional bracket should be placed in the middle of the awnings width
(item D) with tolerance of 5 cm
Additional installation brackets (if ordered additionally) – should be placed symmetrically considering the
fact, that the largest load on the square bar is found neer the arm bracket
● holes are to be prepared to retain the level and
vertical plane
● mounting brackets are to be mounted by appropriate
fasteners For monting surface structure made of B25
concrete it is recomended to use certified anchors - M12
Strength data:
Permissible tensile load :
F(kN) >=B25: 5,70
The release in the compression zone of concrete:
F (kN) >=B35: 6,50
Allowable bending moment:
M (Nm): 28,3
Other parameters like for the equivalent of anchor W-FA

3.3. Bringing power to the awning engine (in case of ordering an electric engine)
● Drill in the wall a way for the power supply cable Bringing power to the power unit should be
prepared in accordance with relevant regulations/law
3.4. Hang awning on brackets and fasten it
Information
An awning is a heavy and bulky object Make sure that there is enough personel for
installing an awning with a given weight and size
●put the awning in prepared
mounting brackets by sliding the square bar
in the brackets slot
● fasten the awning in the mounting
brackets by using the supplied screws

3.5. Set the angle of the awning
CAUTION!
The arms of the awning contain springs under high tension Improper handling can
cause injury
CAUTION!
Gradually adjust the angle on all arms Do not lead to significant differences of setings
between arms
Information
Following tasks should be performed on all arms The work should be done by two
people
● fully open/unroll the awning to let the fabric
be strained
● loosen the B bolt no further until it will hide
inside the cylinder (do not screw it further then it is
shown on the figure)

● Person "1" – raises the arm so that the arm
bracket does not press the C bolt Keep it in this
position
● Person "2" – screw in or out bolt C, set
desiered posion (do not screw out bolt C more then
3,5 cm)

● Person "1" –lower the arm slowly, holding it all
the time, let it lay on C bolt
● Person "1" – when the angle is set on all arms
make sure the front bar remains leveled If not, adjust
the arms until it is

● Person "2" – If you have achieved the desired
angle, you must screw in the B bolt in all arms, which
were regulated

● When you change the arm angle, the front bar needs to be adjusted Description of this task is
written below
Information
To minimize the accumulation of rain water on the fabric surfice,
the angle should be adjusted between 14 and 25 degrees (when awning is fully
open/rolled out) Water collected on the fabric could cause damage to the awning and
be dangerous for the people underneath
3.6. Regulate the position of the front bar
Information
After changing the angle of the arms the front bar should be adjusted so that after
closing it aligns with the side of the cassette Setting the front bar too high can cause a
dangerous situation of hooking the bar on the cassette

● measure the length of the visible part of bolt
C on the arm holder (if it is more than 3,7 cm use
instructions from point 3 5 and screw it in)

● check if the toothed bars F are properly fitted in the E slot
● screw all the allen screws G in all arms

an electric engine, it is reqired to again change the marginal settings of the awning according to the

3.7. prepare electric connection (in case of ordering an electric engine)
CAUTION!
Electric connection may be done only by qualified personel who have proper licenses
and permision regarding local law regulations Electrical connections are made in
accordance with the attached circuit diagram of connections in accordance with the
instructions of the electric drive Awning can be connected to electricity, if the power
source data matches the requirements of the engine
When installing the motor power cable, should be noted that the cable is not twisted and that there are no
sharp edges that could lead to its damage The switch should be located at a height of 125cm (or different if
stated by local law) The switch used must be intended by the manufacturer to control the awning the
marginal restrictions of opening and closing the awning are pre-set by the manufacturer After making
changes to these settings must in accordance with programming instructions included to the engine
description, carry out the process of recording these changes

In order to make changes to the programmed marginal settings of the awning engine, follow the
instructions of the engine – instruction is attached to the product
If scrached or damaged to the cord, do not use the awning, and call servis staff
3.8. Usage of crank (for awnings with manual drive or NHK)
● hang the crank on the eyelet of the drive Cranking causes opening and closing the awning
● fabric must be wound on the appropriate side(from top), of the roller tube Fabric rolled in the
opposite way can lead to damage to the awning fabric and construction

CAUTION!
Arms of the awnings are under high tension of springs and the improper handling can
cause the injury
4.1. Replacing the drive
To carry out replacement of a failed drive, awning must be unmonted Requires the appropriate knowledge
and skills available to the service personel when changing the drive, be sure to secure arms The inserted
new drive must be compatybile with the manufacturers drive and awning guidelines
4. . Fabric exchange
To perform the exchange of material it is necessary to unmonte the awning Changing the material must be
conducted by the service company or manufacturer

4.3. Arm exchange
Arm exchange must be performed only by the service company or manufacturer
5.0. The start-up
During the trial run there should be no people within reach of the awning Remove any items from under the
awning and obstacles on its way (like ladders etc ) Open and close the awning Check if the front bar
overlaps with the cassette durring closing and if it preserves the level and that it keeps the level at the
maximum opening of the awning
A special type of arm has been used in the awning, it changes the angle durring opening Thanks to that
compact dimansions were obtained when at the same time avoiding the effect of laying the fabric on the arm
of the awning
6.0. Putting into service
After installation, monting staff must provide the following documents to the user:
● "installation instructions and regulations"
● "instructions for use and maintenance, warranty"
● "instructions for connecting and controlling the electric drive" (optional)
● "instructions for the sun/wind sensor and the remote control" (optional)
● "reception protocol"
User should be thoroughly instructed by the service company for maintenance issues, security and use of
the device In the document "instructions for use and maintenance, warranty", there is a initial/nominal wind
class written After mounting, depending on the mounting conditions, the wind classed achieved by the
awning may be reduced in relation to the nominal class In addition, in the document it is required to show
the C screws set value – what is the extension, check point 3 6 in the instruction (Changes may be done
only by trained mounting team Changes must be confirmed with stamp and signed) The "reception
protocoll" should be signed by the user and mounting company

Manufacturer is not resposible for the damage made to the awning while strong gusts of wind, or
inappropriate wind automatic adjustment
8.0. Iinformation and cautions

Roll up the awning if bad weather such as frost, snow, rain or hail is forecasted

Using in cold conditions may cause damage to the awning, keep it closed

You may not mount awnings with electric drive in area that is highly explosive or with
high quantities of flammable substances in the air
Do not dispose electrical components to the trash bin They must be brought to the
point of electrical equiptment disposal
