(HARD HAT ASSEMBLY) CARRIER
Description
The Dromex® HHA carrier system is a universal helmet mounted face shield
and earmuff combination that’s easy to attach and detach, provides optimum
hearing and face protection against liquid splash, medium impact particulate,
molten metal and resistance to penetration of hot solids.
Compatible with most industrial helmets, these combination earmuffs and
faceshields are suitable for use in construction, general industry, mining, oil
and gas, utilities airports, excavation equipment handling, generators,
machining, grinding, woodwork and drilling applications.
Special Instructions
EARMUFFS:
• Do not share earmuffs as ears can be exposed to ear infections.
• Product should be worn properly at all times in noisy surroundings.
• The earmuffs should be fitted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with
instructions provided on this packaging.
• If the recommendations are not adhered to, the protection afforded by the
product will be severely impaired.
• This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances;
avoid the use of agents (i.e. solvents and other disinfectants) that are known
to be harmful to the wearer and/or the earmuff.
• Regularly inspect for tears or cracks and replace if service ability is suspected
to be affected.
• Sounds above 85dB are harmful to the ears.
• Spectacle frames and hair between the ear pad and head may affect the
performance of the ear protector.
VISOR:
• This eye protector is suitable for use to the lowest marking on the brow guard
or visor. Clear material face shields are not intended for welding use.
Safety spectacles with side shields are used as primary protection to shield the
eyes from heat hazards. To adequately protect the eyes and face from high
temperature exposure, use safety spectacles in combination with a heat
protective face shield. Only shade 5 green material face shields are suitable for
welding use. Wire mesh face shields are not suitable for protection against
high speed particles, liquid splash, molten metal splash, hot solids, electrical
hazards, furnace or welding use.
• Optical class 3 oculars are not intended for long term use.
Compliance & Conformity
Manufactured to EN 352-1:2002 and EN 352-3: 2002, Hearing Protective
Equipment, CE certificate 676978 and EN166:2001 and EN 1731:2006,
Personal Eye Protection: Face shields, CE certificate 682750 as per the
requirements of Eu Type examination certificate, 2016/425 Directive
89/686/EEC by BSI.

Packaging, Storage & Obsolescence
• Interex Earmuffs packed in individual boxes and sold as 10 units in a carton.
• HHCARRIER packed in individual polybags and sold as 20 units in a carton.
• HHPCVISOR wrapped in individual packaging and sold as 20 units in a carton.
HHA CARRIER
EARMUFFS:
User’s instructions included in the polybag.
When not in use or during transportation, the earmuff should be stored in a
container such that it out of direct sunlight, away from chemicals and abrasive
substances and cannot be damaged by physical contact with hard surface
and items.
VISOR:
User’s instructions included in the polybag.

Do not store outside temperature range of -20"C to +50°C or with humidity
above 90%RH.
Cleaning & Maintenance
EARMUFFS:
After each use wash and rinse with warm soapy water.
Clean and dry earmuffs when not used for a long period of time.
Solvent or abrasive cleaner should not be used.
Cushions may deteriorate with use and should be examined at frequent intervals
for cracking and tears.
Discard immediately when headband is broken, cups are damaged and cushions
are missing, as the earmuff can no longer provide full hearing protection.
VISOR:
To maintain the face shield in the best possible condition do not use solvents or
abrasive materials to clean.
Rinse in a weak solution of mild detergent in clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
Scratched or damaged visors should be replaced. Replacement visors are available.
Should any difficulties be encountered, connecting or disconnecting the face-
shield, contact the manufacturer.
Shelf life
• Under normal circumstances the earmuff should offer adequate protection
for 2 -3 years.
• Discard if noticeable damages is prevalent
• Visor :

5 years.
Materials
None of the materials used in the manufacture of the HHA system are known
to adversely affect the hygiene or health.

Donning/Insert the earmuff
The ear defender must only be attached to the helmet using the correct adapter kit.
Ensure ear muffs defenders are fitted, adjusted, maintained and regularly inspected
to ensure no wear or damage is present.
To connect the ear defender to the helmet, insert the inter-ex helmet mounting
bracket (fig1) into the helmet slot (fig2).
Attach the inter-ex ear muff bracket into the helmet mounting bracket in either
position "A" (fig3) or position "B" (fig4) so that the ear muff will will have the best fit
and line up the ear muff with the ear.
Locate the inter-ex bracket firmly into the helmet mounting bracket (fig5) and
rotate the ear muff into position (fig6)
Position the ear defender cups at the bottom of the arms. Place the helmet on the
head and adjust to get a comfortable fit. Pull the side arms in against the head until
they locate and slide the ear cups up the side arms until the ears fit comfortably
inside the cups.
Donning/Insert the visor
To insert the new face shield, firstly remove the protective film, then start at one end
and insert the face shield into the locating slot with the hole lined up with the
carrier pin.
Push the face shield until it locates onto the carrier pin.
Repeat this step for all 3 locating holes. Re-attach. Please ensure hands are clean
and free of dirt as this could scratch the visor.
Donning/ Inserting the eye protector onto helmet
The visor should only be fitted to the DROMEX inter-ex ear muff assembly.
Insert the brow guard locating arm into the locating slot (fig8) of the Inter-ex
earmuff bracket until the assembly is in position and the tab locked (fig9).
The entire face shield and ear muff assembly should be connected to the helmet
when ready to use (fig10).
Doffing/Removal of face shield
To replace the face shield, remove the carrier from the hard hart assembly.
Hold the face shield assembly (fig 11)and press the face gently until the shield
releases from the carrier locating pin (fig 12).
Repeat this for all three location pins until the face shield is separate from the
carrier.

Disposal
All industrial waste should be disposed of correctly according to local
regulations and good disposal practice. Hearing protective devices should
be disposed of considering the hazardous substance they were used for.
Please consider recycling.
