I. INTRODUCTION
Today, most Motorcycles and Scooters are using engine control by electronic technology with
microprocessors. To determine the trouble is very difficult complex, you can't seen and diagnosis by
"clinical" method such as conventional mechanical repair before. The ECM firmware repair is easiest if
you have special tool for reinstallation or upgrade.
- The sensors, actuators and electronic control unit will be information together by special electrical
signals in an overall link and self-contained, so the repairs independent electronic is very difficult to do
when you don't have tools.
- One other way, electronic repairman for motorcycle and scooters very need to have signal simulator
and tested pulses to confirm the their diagnosis is completely accurate before ordering multiple days for
the purchase new replacement parts as sensors for ECT / EOT, MAF, MAP, TPS, O2S, CKP, IACV,
Injectors and ECU.
- Moreover, electronic repairman for motorcycle and scooters need to have signal pulse generator
dedicated the motorcycle that is able to adjust in large range to check, diagnose, calibrate to repair
hardware of electronic functional units as the ECU, solenoid valve continuous strip, electronic injectors,
step motors ...

IV. CONNECTION DIAGRAM TO MOTOSCAN, EASYKEY
V. SIMULATE SIGNAL
This function used to simulate INPUT and OUTPUT signals of ECM for almost PGM-FI/FI motorcycles
Note: Instruction below for MOTOSCAN, you do the same steps for EASYKEY
NOTES:
You supply power for MOTOBOX after connection with motorcycle is complete
Step 1: Select “SPECIAL TEST MODE” menu from main interface of MOTOSCAN then press “Select/
OK” button

Step 2: Select “SIGNAL SIMULATION” menu then press “Select/ OK”, the screen display as below
You use “MT0006 – LINK” cable to connect between MOTOBOX and MOTOSCAN as below:

After you have completed this connection, please press “Select/ OK” button to continue.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
When you simulate ignition signal or CKP signal on motorcycle, you must remove the spark plug out
of engine to have not ignition in the combustion chamber; incorrect ignition timing can cause
mechanical troubles on motorcycles…
If MOTOSCAN don’t communicate with MOTOBOX or “MT0006-LINK” cable is faulty or
communicating between MOTOSCAN and MOTOBOX has been lost synchronization then the screen
displays as below:

Step 3: The screen displays simulation signals. Press “Shift Up/ Down” button to view list of signals,
you select signal type that you need simulate then press “Select/ OK” button.
Example: CKP signal:
Step 4:
Use “4” or “6” button to increase or decrease value of electric pulse signal. Use knob on MOTOBOX to
adjust voltage value of signal.

Example: Decrease or increase engine speed
Step 5: Use the simulation signals to generate at output of MOTOBOX for diagnosis and ECU repair. You
view below image:

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Signals able to operate independently even when still supply power for MOTOBOX and then
disconnect “ET0006 - LINK” cable with MOTOSCAN, this time technicians can use MOTOSCAN for
other purposes.
VI. ADJUST ODOMETER
Note: Instruction below for MOTOSCAN, you do the same steps for EASYKEY
a. Adjust Odometer
This function used to adjust ODO value on LCD screen when you replace a new dashboard or odometer
is faulty that you need edit new ODO value equivalent with old ODO value to follow motorcycle using
time and maintenance time.
Step 1: Select “CONNECT TO VEHICLE” menu on MOTOSCAN screen and then press “Select/ OK”
button:

Step 2: Select “DLC CABLE” menu then press “Select/ OK” button, the screen displays list of
motorcycle manufacturers:
Step 3: Select manufacturer (Example: HONDA) then press “Select/ OK” button. The screen displays
connection guide to motorcycle.
You could ignore this report then press “Select/ OK” button to continue because at ODO adjusting
function you need not connect MOTOBOX to motorbike that connect to EEPROM.

Step 4: Select market of HONDA manufacturer (Example: LEAD 125 Viet Nam, You select “VIET NAM”
menu) then press “Select/ OK” button.
Step 5: Screen display list of motorcycle models. Select model to adjust.
(Example: LEAD 125) then press “Select/ OK” button
NOTES:
You must choose right motorcycle model. If you select wrong model when you load data, data inside
EEPROM will be wrong and is the cause of failed software inside odometer.

Step 6: The screen displays function table. Press “Shift Down” button to select “ODO CORRECTION”
function then press “Select/ OK” button.

Use “ET0006 – LINK” cable to connect between MOTOBOX and MOTOSCAN then press “Select/
OK” to continue.

If MOTOSCAN do not communicate with MOTOBOX or “MT0006-LINK” cable is faulty or communicating
between MOTOSCAN and MOTOBOX has been lost synchronization then the screen displays as below:
If the memory card is faulty or do not have memory card in MOTOBOX then the screen displays as
below:
You need check memory card then contact to DTDAuto to be supported.

In case of the screen displays as below, you need contact to DTDAuto to be supported and updated
data.
Step 8: The screen display IC type of odometer.
Example: IC type is 93C66. You must remove dashboard, determine position of weld points on circuit
board as guide image at MOTODATA software :

You use solder machine to solder connectors of ODO cable with solder points on circuit board of
odometer then press “Select/ OK”.

Step 9: The screen displays function table. Press “^/v” button to select “CORRECT ODO VALUE”
menu then press “Select/ OK” button

Step 10: The screen displays meter value that you need change. Press “^/v” button to change ODO
value and then press “Select/ OK” button.
If the screen displays as below:
You need check the solder connection between auxiliary circuit board (ODO BOARD) and IC, IC plugs
and solder pin position of IC.
Step 11: If odometer adjustment is successful, the screen will display as below:
