RedHead RH 300 Dog Training Collar is durable,
safe and very umane w en used correctly. T is
training system offers Maxx-Range™ tec nology,
t e industry’s only internally woven antenna in t e
collar. Wit a 300 yard range, t ey are perfect for
general obedience training around t e ome.
T e RedHead RH 300 features fifteen levels of
stimulation intensity, wit an easy ‘no-look’
clicking intensity selection dial. Easy one and
operation allows for maximum control and safety.
T is model includes bot t e Continuous
Stimulation and t e Beep function. T ere is a
Battery Saving Mode to extend t e life of t e
collar battery. T e Collar Receiver is 100%
waterproof and can be worn even w en t e dog is
submerged. T e automatic safety s ut-off feature
stops t e stimulus from bot t e Transmitter and
t e Collar Receiver to prevent accidental or

Intensity Selection Dial
T e intensity selection dial allows you to c oose between
15 different levels of stimulation for very precise control.
On t e ‘M’ setting, you can c oose between regular and
Battery Saving Mode* (see page 12).
Transmitter Antenna
Be sure to c eck t at t e antenna is securely fastened to
t e transmitter before eac use. Hand-tig ten only: over-
tig tening can cause damage to t e antenna or t e
antenna mount.
Magnet Indicator (Red Mark)
T e Magnet Indicator marks t e location of t e magnet in
t e Transmitter. T e magnet is used to turn t e Collar
Receiver ON/OFF and for ID reprogramming.
Transmitter LED Indicator Light
W en any of t e buttons on t e transmitter is pus ed,
t e LED lig t will turn on to indicate t at t e transmitter is
being operated. W en t e battery is low, t e LED lig t
will flas rapidly.
Remote Training Buttons
Pressing t e “Cont.” button sends a Continuous
Stimulation from t e Collar Receiver to your dog.
Pressing t e “Beep” button emits an audible beep from
t e Collar Receiver.
*IMPORTANT NOTE:
In Battery Saving Mode, t ere may be a slig t delay in t e
Collar Receiver’s response to t e Transmitter. T is feature
was added to prolong battery life (see page 12).

Magnetic Switch Indicator (Red Mark)
T e Magnetic Switc Indicator is a red dot s owing
w ere t e Magnetic Activation Switc is located. You
can use t e Magnetic Indicator on t e Transmitter or t e
Activation Magnet on t e Buckle to activate and
deactivate your Collar Receiver (see page 11).

T e LED lig t on t e Collar Receiver will turn on w en
Magnet Indicator is eld against t e Magnetic Switc
Indicator. W en t e Collar Receiver is ON, t e LED lig t
will flas once every 2 seconds in normal mode and
double-flas every 2 seconds in Battery Saving Mode.
You will also see flas es w en applying Continuous
Stimulation or Beep. W en t e collar battery is low and
needs to be replaced, t e LED will flas rapidly (about 3
times every 2 seconds) w ile t e Collar Receiver is ON.
Speaker
Emits an audible beep w en “Beep” button is pus ed.
ollar Belt with Embedded Receiver Antenna
T e Collar Belt is adjustable to fit a wide range of neck
sizes (see page 15). T e embedded collar antenna is
woven into t e Collar Belt, and it is about 4 inc es long.
You s ould be able to feel t e embedded antenna on t e
nylon belt.

WARNING
Do not cut t e part of t e Collar Belt t at as t e embedded
antenna. Doing so will damage t e antenna and may result
in severely decreased Collar Receiver range.

INSTALLING/ HANGING BATTERIES
Transmitter Battery
1. Pus down on t e Battery Compartment cover w ere
it is marked “PUSH” and slide it down in t e direction
of t e marked arrow.
2. Remove t e old battery if present.
3. Install new 9V battery wit ‘-’ terminal
on left and ‘+’ terminal on rig t.
4. Slide t e Battery Compartment cover
back into place until it clicks.
ollar Battery
1. Use a t ick coin to unscrew t e Battery Compartment
Cap from t e Collar Receiver.
2. Remove t e old battery if present.
3. Insert new 6V battery into t e
Battery Compartment wit t e ‘+’
end in first.
4. Screw t e Battery Compartment Cap back into place
wit coin. Be sure t e cap is securely and properly in
place. If t e cap is not screwed on tig t enoug or
improperly aligned, t e Collar Receiver may not be
waterproof.
NOTE
A Lit ium version of t e 6V battery may last longer in your
Collar Receiver. Lit ium batteries are designed for ig -
drain electronics like your remote collar trainer.

TURNING THE UNIT ON AND OFF
Turning the ollar Receiver ON
1. Hold t e Magnet Indicator (Red
Mark) on t e back of t e Transmitter
directly on t e Magnet Switc
Indicator (Red Mark) on t e side of
t e Collar Receiver.
2. T e red LED lig t (next to t e Red Mark) will lig t up
solid for about 1 second and t en will begin to flas .
3. Remove t e Transmitter away from t e Collar
Receiver as soon as t e LED lig t starts flas ing.
4. T e Collar Receiver is now ON and t e red LED lig t
s ould be flas ing.
NOTE
T e Transmitter is always in a permanent sleep state. It is
only ON w en a button is being pressed, and it does not
need to be turned OFF by t e user.
Turning the ollar Receiver OFF
1. Repeat steps 1-3 above.
2. T e Collar Receiver is now OFF and t e red LED
lig t s ould no longer be flas ing.
NOTE
T e Activation Magnet on t e collar belt
buckle can also be used to turn t e Collar
Receiver ON/OFF.

BATTERY SAVING MODE
Switching from Regular to Battery Saving Mode:
1. Turn ON t e Collar Receiver.
2. Select ‘M’ on t e Intensity Dial.
3. Press t e ‘Beep’ button to activate t e
Battery Saving Mode. T e LED Lig t
on t e Collar Receiver will start to
double-flas .
4. Press t e ‘Cont.’ button to go back to regular mode.
T e LED Lig t on t e Collar Receiver will now ave a
single flas .
5. After you ave selected t e desired mode, return t e
Intensity Dial to your normal setting (see page 16).
T e Battery Saving Mode will reduce battery consumption in
t e Collar Receiver and increase battery life. In t e regular
battery mode, t e Collar Receiver battery can last up to
approximately 72 standby ours. In t e Battery Saving
Mode, t e Collar Receiver battery can last up to
approximately 240 standby ours.*
*T ese figures are estimates and vary depending on numerous factors
suc as number and lengt of beeps/stimulations, intensity level setting,
distance, weat er, storage, battery brand and age, etc.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
In t e Battery Saving Mode, t ere may be a slig t 0.5 to 1
second delay in t e Collar Receiver’s response to t e
Transmitter. Pressing and releasing t e button too quickly
in t e Battery Saving Mode may not result in t e desired
correction from t e Collar Receiver. You may need to
press and old t e ‘Beep’ or ‘Cont.’ button and watc your
dog for a reaction before you release t e button. For a
more instantaneous response, use your collar system in t e
regular battery mode.

TESTING
To Test the Electronic Stimulation:
1. Place t e tester firmly on t e contacts
of t e Collar Receiver.
2. Set t e intensity (note - an intensity
level setting of 4 or less mig t not be
enoug to lig t t e tester).
3. Pus t e ‘Cont.’ button.
4. T e tester lig t will lig t repeatedly w en t e
Continuous Stimulation button is pus ed (t e test lig t
will be brig ter at ig er intensity levels).
To Test the Beep:
1. Press t e ‘Beep’ button.
2. An audible beep will be emitted any time t e button is
pressed.
NOTE: Turn t e Collar Receiver ON for Testing
NOTE: If t e Collar Receiver is not responding to any sig-
nals from t e Transmitter, t e Collar Receiver may need to
be reprogrammed to t e Transmitter (see page 14).

REPROGRAMMING
If your current ollar Receiver is not responding to the
Transmitter, it may need to be reprogrammed to the
Transmitter.
1. Hold t e Magnet Indicator (Red Mark) on t e
Transmitter directly against t e Magnetic Switc
Indicator (Red Mark) on t e side of t e Collar
Receiver.
2. T e LED Lig t inside t e Collar Receiver will lig t
up solid for about 1 second followed by 6 flas es. You
must keep t e Transmitter next to t e Collar Receiver
during t is time.
3. Continue to old t e Transmitter against t e Collar
Receiver until t e LED Lig t stays on solid. T e Collar
Receiver is now in t e Code Running Mode (t e LED
lig t will stay lit for approximately 8 seconds w ile it is
in t is mode).
4. Remove t e Transmitter from t e Collar Receiver
and press t e ’Cont.’ and ’Beep’ buttons
simultaneously w ile it is in t e Code Running Mode.
5. W en t e LED lig t blinks 3 times, t e Collar ID is
now programmed and t e Collar Receiver is now ON.
NOTE – Do not remove the Red Mark on the
Transmitter from the Red Mark on the ollar Receiver
until after the LED light stops flashing and stays on
solid or the ollar Receiver will not go into the Code
Running Mode. You must press the ’ ont.’ and ‘Beep’
buttons simultaneously while the LED light is lit solid.

NOTE: Proper collar tig tness and
position are very important to ensure
safe and consistent collar use.
All electronic collars need to be
very snug around t e dog’s neck to
work properly. T ey must be just
tig t enoug to allow t e “contacts”
or electrodes to make good contact
on your dog’s skin. If t e collar is too loose, t e
stimulation may not work properly because good/
consistent skin contact is not being ac ieved. T is
can directly affect t e performance of t e collar unit
and w et er or not t e dog will receive t e stimulation.
Always c eck for good contact to t e skin if it appears
t at your dog is not responding to t e stimulation.
Also, a loose collar can also result in skin irritations
from t e contacts moving or rubbing too muc against
your dog’s neck w ile t ey are running or training. A
proper fit will elp prevent t is from occurring.
• Place t e collar unit ig (closer to your dog’s ead)
and tig t on your dog’s neck wit t e collar receiver
box centered below t e c in. Placing it at t e wider
base of t e neck can let it travel up to t e narrower
part of t e neck w ile your dog is moving, loosening
as it goes.
• T e collar s ould be tig t enoug to fit two fingers
between t e collar belt and your dog’s neck, but not
tig t enoug to restrict your dog’s breat ing.
PROPERLY FITTING THE OLLAR

It is very important to set t e correct intensity level on
your RH 300 Training System before beginning your
training sessions to provide t e proper level of
stimulation wit out over-stimulating your dog.
1. Place t e Intensity Selection dial so t at t e system
is set on Level 1.
2. Turn on t e Collar Receiver and t en fit it properly
around your dog’s neck.
3. Press t e ‘Cont.’ button and c eck for a reaction.
Indications of your dog feeling t e stimulation
include outward signs of discomfort or confusion on
it’s face, ears perking up, c anges in tail
movements, etc.
4. If t ere are no signs of your dog feeling t e
stimulation, increase t e Intensity Level in
increments of one until your dog reacts to t e
stimulation.
5. At t is point, increase t e Intensity Level by one or
two. T is s ould be your dog’s ideal training level.
SETTING THE INTENSITY LEVEL
NOTE
Some dogs may require more or less stimulation depending
upon t eir individual temperament and/or size.

MAINTENAN E
It is very important to periodically clean your RedHead
RH 300 system for maximum performance. Regular
cleaning will also lengt en t e life of your unit.
• Clean t e RedHead RH 300 collar box wit
lukewarm water and a mild anti-bacterial soap.
• Take care to t oroug ly clean t e space between
t e Contacts and t e Collar Belt.
• T e belt and buckle s ould be cleaned wit water
and a mild soap and t en allowed to dry completely.
• Always allow t e entire unit to completely dry before
using.
NOTE
It is recommended t at t e collar unit be rinsed wit fres ,
clean water after use in wet conditions, especially in salt
water.
To get t e maximum performance and life out of your
batteries:
• Use your collar system in t e Battery Saving Mode
w en an instantaneous response to your
Transmitter is not required.
• Do not store your unit in extremely ot or cold
conditions.
• Store your unit in a dry environment.
• Remove t e batteries w en storing your unit for
extended periods of time.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES
• Before training, your dog s ould be examined by a
veterinarian to assure t at your dog is in good
ealt .
• Never leave your dog unattended with the unit
on. Since no electronic device is perfect, t ere is a
very slig t possibility t at your dog may receive an
unintentional electric stimulation.
• Your RH 300 training collar is a very valuable tool if
used correctly. It is extremely important t at you
completely understand all t e functions of t e collar
and ow to properly train wit it before placing it on
your dog.
• T e contacts (electrodes) on t is collar are made
wit ig grade stainless steel to elp prevent any
c emical or allergic reactions wit your dog’s skin.
• To prevent neck irritations, the collar should
never be worn for more than 12 hours a day.
C anging t e collar location on t e dog’s neck daily
will also elp prevent irritations. It is important to
keep t e collar clean. Clean t e electrodes
regularly wit a mild anti-bacterial soap.
• If an irritation is found, carefully was t e dog’s neck
wit soap and water and t en wipe t e area wit
Hydrogen peroxide. Dry t oroug ly and apply an
antibiotic ointment.

All RH 300 systems ave a one year parts and labor
warranty effective from t e original date of purc ase. A
copy of t e original sales receipt is required to validate t e
date of purc ase. T e RH 300 as been made wit State
of t e Art equipment. Any fine adjustment s ould be
performed only by D.T. Systems tec nicians.
