CHOOSINGTHE POWER SOURCES
You can use the ACpower or batteriesas apower source.
1.Connecting the AC power
cord
InsertoneendofthesuppliedACpowercord
(located in the battery compartment) into the socket
located at therear ofthe player,and the otherend
to thewall outlet.
2.Using the playeron batteries
Insert8size “C”batteries(notsupplied)intothe
battery compartment.
Touse the player onbatteries, disconnect the AC
power cord bothfromtheoutlet and the backof
the player.

NOTE:One blade of plug
and outlet iswider.
TIP
Iftheplugofthe AC
powercord doesnot
matchyour outlet, donot
force it. Reverseit and
tryagain. The plugis
polarized andonlyfits
onewayintothe wall
outlet and back of the
set.
Replace thebatteries
whenthePOWERlamp
dimsor when the player
stopsoperating. Replace
all the batterieswithnew
ones.Beforeyou replace
thebatteries,besure to
takeout theCD fromthe
player and rememberto
checkthe Battery Safety
InstructionsonPage3.
If the CD does not play
onbatteries,thismeans
thebatteriesare almost
usedup.Buttheradio
maycontinuetoplayon
theseweakbatteries

ATTACHING THESPEAKERS
6.Carefully unwind the speaker wire frombehind each speaker boxand plugthe
right plugintoSPEAKERJACKR,also plugtheleftplug intoSPEAKER
JACKL(as showninFIG.3). Wrapthe remaining wire behind eachspeakerbox.
NOTE: The right andleft speakers are NOT
interchangeable. Therightspeaker
fits only on the right side (as shown
in FIG.1). The left speaker fits only
on the left side.
1.Bringthe rightspeaker tothe rightside
of theset.
2.Raisetheright speakerboxabout4
inchesabove theset.Alignthe
tracks(rails).
3.Fit speaker over theside rails.
4.Whenspeakerfitsovertherails,lower
the speaker as shown in FIG.2, and make
sure thetabssnap intothespeaker
box (locks inthe back).
5.Repeat above steps 1to4forthe left
speakerbox.
NOTE: Thisset can be used withspeakerboxesattached tothemain set or
separated, just makesure both speaker plugsare plugged intothe jacks.
Toremove the speakers, press thelock tab and raise the speakers.

1. Programmed Play
You can makeaprogramof up to 16 tracks inthe order you want them to be
played.
1.Slide the FUNCTION switchto CD position. Make
sure the CD isstopped.
2.Press the PROG./REPEATbutton. The letters
“”willshowandthe PLAY/PROG.lampwill
flash.
3.Press or to selectthe tracks you want to
program inthe order you want.
4.Press the PROG./REPEATbutton to confirm. The
letters “”will show and the PLAY/PROG.lamp
will flash.
5.Repeat above steps3and 4. You can programup
to 16 tracks (the displaywill show “”, “”
…“”for programnumber 11to 16).
6. Press to start programmed play.The PLAY/
PROG.lampwill flash.
NOTE:
1. Programming can onlybe done in STOP mode.
2.The programmed memorywill be lostifthe power isshut off or the CD door

On Safety
•Asthe laserbeamusedintheCD
playersectionmay be harmful tothe
eyes, do not attempt to disassemble
thecabinet. Referservicing to
qualifiedpersonnel only.
•Should any solid object or liquid fall
intothe player,unplug theplayer,and
haveit checked by qualified personnel
beforeoperating itany further.

On Operation
•If the playerisbrought directly froma
cold to awarmlocation,or isplaced
inavery damproom,moisturemay
condense onthe lens inside the CD
player section. Should thisoccur,the
player will not operate properly.In
this case, remove theCD and wait
aboutan hourfor themoisture to
evaporate. If the player has not been
usedforalongtime,setitinthe
playback mode to warmitup for afew
minutesbefore inserting acassette.
•Thisplayer isdesigned to be played
on astableno vibration position.If
you bumpthe set duringCD play,the
musicwill stop orskip for afew
seconds. This isnormalfor thistype
of player.
On Placement
•Donotleave the playerin alocation
nearaheat source,orinaplace
subject todirect sunlight, excessive
dustor mechanical shock.
•Donot placethe player onan inclined
orunstable place.
•Donotplace anythingwithin 1inch
ofthebackofthecabinet.The
ventilation holesmust not be covered
for the player to operate properlyand
prolong the life of itscomponents.
•Sinceastrongmagnet isused forthe
speakers, keeppersonalcredit cards
usingmagneticcoding or springwound
watches away fromthe speakersto
prevent possible damage fromthe
magnets.
•If the player isleft in acar parked in
the sun, be sure to choose alocation
in the car where theplayerwill notbe
subjected tothe direct raysof the sun.
On PowerSources
•For battery operation, use 8size “C”
batteries. Werecommend alkaline
batteriesforlongerlife.
•When the batteries willnotbeused
for afewweeks or more, remove
themto avoid damage thatcan be
causedby battery leakage or
corrosion.

the capstan with acleaning swab slightly
moistened with cleaning fluidor alcohol
afterevery 10 hoursofoperationfor
optimumplayback andrecording quality.
Aftercleaning, insertatapewhenthe
areascleanedare completelydry. Cleaning the Cabinet
Clean thecabinet, panel andcontrols
withasoft cloth slightlymoistenedwith
wateror amilddetergentsolution. Do
notuseanytypeofabrasivepad,
scouringpowder,orsolvent,suchas
