are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.

1.Use only the type and size of batteriesmentioned in the operatinginstructions
booklet(batteriesarenotincludedwiththisset,please buythe properbatteries).
2.Donotdisposethebatteries into afire. Thecellsmayexplode.Checkwithlocal
codesfor possiblespecialdisposalinstructions.
3.Donot openor mutilatethebatteries. Releasedelectrolyte iscorrosive andmay
causedamage totheeyesorskin.It maybetoxicif swallowed.
4.Becarefulwhenhandlingbatteriesin ordernottoshortthebatterywith
conductingmaterialssuch as rings,braceletsandkeys.The battery orconductor
mayoverheatand causeburns.
5.Donot attempt to rechargenon-rechargeable batteries. The batteries may leak
corrosive electrolyteorexplode.
6.Donotattemptto rejuvenate thebatteriesidentifiedforusewith thisproduct by
heating them.Sudden release ofthe battery electrolyte may causeburnsor
irritationtoeyesorskin.
7.Allbatteriesshould bereplacedatthe sametime.Mixingfreshand discharged
batteries couldincreaseinternalcellpressure andrupturethe batteries.
8.Wheninsertingbatteriesintothisproduct,theproperpolarity( and )or
directionmustbeobserved.Reverseinsertionofsomeorallofthebatteries
mayresultinbatteryelectrolyteleakageor explosion.
9.Removethebatteries fromthisproductif theproductwillnotbe usedforalong
period of time(several monthsor more)since duringtheperiod the batteries
could leak, damaging the product.
10.Discardweakordeadbatteriesas soonaspossiblesince they aremorelikely
toleakintheproduct.Batteries shouldbereplaced (depending ontheproduct)
when thedisplaygetsdim or iftheLowBattery Indicatorshowsorifthesound
gets distorted.
11.Donotstore thisproduct in high temperatureareas. Batteriesthatarestoredin
afreezer orrefrigeratorforthepurposeofextendingshelflifeshould beprotected
fromcondensationduringstorageanddefrosting.Batteriesshouldbestabilized
atroomtemperatureprior to useaftercoldstorage.
12.Ifthisproduct doesnotoperate normally,see TROUBLE SHOOTINGinthis
instructionmanual. If you can tresolve theproblem,or if the productis
damaged, refer tothe LENOXX WARRANTYINFORMATION.Openingor
removingcoversmayexposeyou todangerousvoltagesorotherrisks.
Incorrect reassemblycan cause electricshock when the applianceis
subsequentlyused.
13.Ifliquid leaksfromthebatteries, carefullywipethisliquid.Do notallowittotouch

CHOOSINGTHE POWER SOURCES
You can use the ACpower or batteriesas apower source.
1.Connecting the AC power
cord
InsertoneendofthesuppliedACpowercord
(located in the battery compartment) into the socket
located at therear ofthe player,and the otherend
to thewall outlet.
2.Using the playeron batteries
Insert8size “C”batteries(notsupplied)intothe
battery compartment.
Touse the player onbatteries, disconnect the AC
power cord bothfromtheoutlet and the backof
the player.

NOTE:One blade of plug
and outlet iswider.
TIP
Iftheplugofthe AC
powercord doesnot
matchyour outlet, donot
force it. Reverseit and
tryagain. The plugis
polarized andonlyfits
onewayintothe wall
outlet and back of the
set.
Replace thebatteries
whenthePOWERlamp
dimsor when the player
stopsoperating. Replace
all the batterieswithnew
ones.Beforeyou replace
thebatteries,besure to
takeout theCD fromthe
player and rememberto
checkthe Battery Safety
InstructionsonPage3.
If the CD does not play
onbatteries,thismeans
thebatteriesare almost
usedup.Buttheradio
maycontinuetoplayon
theseweakbatteries
becauseitusesless
power than the CD player.

ATTACHING THESPEAKERS
6.Carefully unwind the speaker wire frombehind each speaker boxand plugthe
right plugintoSPEAKERJACKR,also plugtheleftplug intoSPEAKER
JACKL(as showninFIG.3). Wrapthe remaining wire behind eachspeakerbox.
NOTE: The right andleft speakers are NOT
interchangeable. Therightspeaker
fits only on the right side (as shown
in FIG.1). The left speaker fits only
on the left side.
1.Bringthe rightspeaker tothe rightside
of theset.
2.Raisetheright speakerboxabout4
inchesabove theset.Alignthe
tracks(rails).
3.Fit speaker over theside rails.
4.Whenspeakerfitsovertherails,lower
the speaker as shown in FIG.2, and make
sure thetabssnap intothespeaker
box (locks inthe back).
5.Repeat above steps 1to4forthe left
speakerbox.
NOTE: Thisset can be used withspeakerboxesattached tothemain set or
separated, just makesure both speaker plugsare plugged intothe jacks.
Toremove the speakers, press thelock tab and raise the speakers.
