WHEN SHOWSORFLASHESINTHEDISPLAYY
While the CD isplaying,ifthe alkaline batteriesareweakordischarged,thissymbol
“ ” showsorflashesin the display,then the powerautomaticallyturnsoff. If this
occurs,replacebothalkaline batteries(alsoifthe displaydoesnotshowanything,

During programming,the symbol PROG (program)flashesin the display.Toprogram
songstoplayinyourpreferred order,followstepsbelow:

Cleaning thecabinet
Wipe withasoft cloth.If thecabinetis
verydirty,dampen (notdripping wet)the
clothwithaweaksolution ofsoapywater,
and then wipe clean.
Cleaning thelens
Adirtylenswill causesound skipping.If
the lensisverydirty,the playermaynot
work.Wesuggestusingaspecial
cleaning disk (notincluded)available in
mostmusicand Hi-Fistores.However,
ifyou do nothaveone,you mayusethe
instructionsbelow.
Useacotton swabveryslightly
dampened withalcohol toclean the lens.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
Always presstheSTOPbuttonandwait
forthedisc tostop rotating before
pressing the CDDOOROPENbuttonto
removethe disc.

Cleaning theDiscs
Fingerprintsshould be carefullywiped
from the surfaceofdisc withasoft
cloth.Unlikeconventionalrecords,
compactdiscshavenogroovesto
collectdustandmicroscopicdirt,so
gentlywiping them withasoft cloth
should removemostparticles.Wipe
in astraightmotion from the centerto
the edge.
Neverusethinner,benzine,record
cleanerorantistaticsprayonacompact
disc.Suchchemicalscandamageits
plasticsurface.
Handling CompactDiscs
Dirty,scratched orwarpeddiscsmay
causeskippingornoise.
Handle the disc onlybythe edges.To
keep clean,donottouchitssurface.
Discs should be stored intheircases
afterusetoavoid scratches.
Donotexposediscs todirectsunlight,
highhumidity,hightemperatures,or
dust, etc.Prolonged exposureto
extreme temperaturescan warpthe
disc (suchasleaving the discs in your
carduringsummertime).
Donotstick orwriteanything oneither
side ofdisc.Sharpwriting instruments,
ortheinksused in some felt-tipped pens,
maydamageitssurface.
Toremove theDisc
Open the CD DOORbypressing the CD
DOOROPEN button,hold the disc bythe
edge while slightlypressing on the center
spindle asillustrated,then lift itfrom the
edgetoreleaseandremove.

carswiththewindowsclosed.Inthesummer,thetemperaturemaygetashighas

UseONLYtheoptionalDC4.5V600mAACAdaptorwithpolarity ,others
maydamage thisset.Disconnectthe Adaptorfromthewalloutletwhen thesetisnot

Whencleaningthisset,useasoftdrycloth.Donotusesolventsorcommercially

Listeningatextremelyhighvolumelevelsminimizesthe intrusionofoutside noise/
sounds.Intheinterestofsafety,itisstronglyadvisedagainsttheusewhile engaging
inactivitieswheretheexclusionofexternalsounds(whistles,horns,sirens,traffic,

CONDENSATION
Ifcold waterispouredintoaglass,waterdropletsformonthe outsideofthe glass.This
iscalledcondensation.Condensationmayoccuroninternaloperatingpartsofthe lens.
Condensation occurs:
When thesetisbroughtfrom thecold outdoorsintoawarmroom,orifitisin acoldroom
toaroomwhichisheated,orinthesummer,ifthesetismoved fromanair-conditioned
room orcartoahotorhumidlocation.
Shouldcondensation occur,thesetmaynotoperateproperly.Openthe CD DOORand
waitforabout20 minutes(toallowtheinternalpartstoadjusttothesurrounding
temperature)beforeusingthe set.
