QUICK INSTRUCTIONS
MODEL CD-96
BATTERY OPERATION
1. Slide the OPEN button to open the CD DOOR, then
open the BATTERY DOOR.
2. Insert 2 size AA fresh alkaline batteries as shown.
NOTE: Player will not work, and batteries will be
drained, if not inserted as shown inside the
Battery Compartment.
3. Close the BATTERY DOOR.
PLUGGING IN HEADPHONES
Plug the headphones into the
PHONES jack on the right side of the
player, and put on the heaphones.

NOTE: If the symbol   shows in the display, your
batteries are weak and need replacement.
BASS BOOST
Slide the BASS BOOST switch (on the left side of the set) to ON to
give you more low frequency tones.
VOLUME CONTROL
Adjust the VOLUME control to your preference.
Power this player inserting 2 size AA fresh alkaline batteries.
AC ADAPTOR (optional)
You can also power this player by connecting an optional AC adaptor. Before you buy an AC
Adaptor, please note, the only AC ADAPTOR suitable for this player is DC 4.5V 700mA (or greater
mA), with plus center polarity . Others may damage the player. Please check voltage &
current (mA) before buying an AC ADAPTOR.

QUICK INSTRUCTIONS
PAUSE
Pressing PLAY/PAUSE button while a disc is playing will pause play. (The elapsed playing time will
flash during pause.) Press PLAY/PAUSE again to continue play.
STOP (or POWER OFF)
Press the STOP button once to stop play and press it twice to shut off power.
REPEAT
During CD play, press the REPEAT button once to repeat one song over and over, 
REPT 1
 will show
in the display. That song will play and repeat again and again till you press STOP.
To repeat all songs, just press the REPEAT button twice, the display will show 
REPT ALL
.
SKIP/SEARCH ( or )
During play, press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH buttons or while the disc is playing to search
backward or forward through a particular track (or song).
Press it several times to skip to a later or earlier song, or to get back to the beginning of the song.
ESP
The ESP PLUSTM function will turn on automatically when the PLAY/PAUSE button is pressed.
PROGRAMMING
To arrange the songs to play in a special sequence (1, 5, 2, 3, etc.) you can program the set to your
taste.
Press the PROGRAM button in STOP mode, use the SEARCH buttons ( or ) to select the
track you want, then press the PROGRAM button again. Repeat pressing the SEARCH buttons
( or ) and PROGRAM button till you finish programming, then press PLAY.

PLAYING A DISC
1. Slide the OPEN button to open the CD DOOR.
2. Place a disc (CD or MP3 disc) on the center post with the label
facing up, and then gently push down on the center of the disc
until it clicks in.
3. Close the CD DOOR, press the PLAY button, the disc will
start to play.
During MP3 play, press the REPEAT button once to repeat one song over and over, 
REPT 1
 will show
in the display. That song will play and repeat again and again till you press STOP. To repeat the songs
on the directory, press the REPEAT button twice, the display will show 
REPT DIR
. To repeat all songs,
just press the REPEAT button 3 times, the display will show 
REPT ALL
.
Press the STOP button to quit repeat play.
DISC ROTATION
During MP3 play, it is nomal for the disc to occasionally stop turning, this is normal, and saves battery
power.
