B.Usingthe rechargeablebattery
The rechargeable batterypack issuitable for portable useand when it isconvenient for you to
enjoy the unique functions of the unit outdoors.
Remember to charge the batteryfully before initial use.
You can power this portable DVD player byconnecting the AC adaptor or bythe rechargeable
battery(both included).
A.Using theAC adaptor
This player issupplied with an AC adapter for
powering the unit and charging the battery.
Insert the AC adaptor plug to the DC IN jack on
theportable DVD player and connect the
adaptor to awall outlet.
Tocharge the battery
1.Insert the adaptor splug into the DC IN jack on the DVD player and connect the
adaptor to awall outlet. After5seconds, the batteryLED indicator will turn on.
2.The batteryLED indicator will flash when charging the batteryand be steadilyon when the
battery isfully charged.
3.Charging time isabout 5hours. Afully charged batterydeliversabout 2.5 hoursof use.
AttachingtheBattery
Refertothefollowing stepsforattachingthe battery:
1.Make suretheplayerisoffandthe AC adapter is
disconnected.
2.Place theDVD player on asoftandsmooth surface with
thebottom of theunitfacingup.
3.Withone hand onthe DVD player toprevent it from
moving, takethe battery and align theplastictabs onthe
batterywithslots on theplayer, andslideitforward to lock,
Thebatterywill click intoplace.
DetachingtheBattery
1.Make suretheplayerisoffandthe AC adapter is
disconnected.
2.Push thetabonthebatterydown.
3.Slideandliftthebatteryout.

NOTE:
•Point the remote control unit from less than 20feet (6 m) from the remote sensor and within
about 60o of the front of the unit.
•Batteriesshould be changedbyan adult for safety.
•Reversing polaritieswill damagethe batteriesand possiblyyour REMOTE.Besuretofollow
polarity(+and –)asindicated.
•Do not mix different types batteriestogether (Alkaline, Carbon-Zinc, Nickel-Cadmium etc.),
or old batterieswith new ones.
•When thebatteries havebecomedischarged,theymustbedisposedofinasafemanner that
complieswith allapplicable laws.
•When thebatteriesbecomesweak, theoperating distanceof the remote control will be
greatlyreduced and you will need to replacethe batteries.
•When the remote control isnot to be used foralong time (2 months or more), removethe
batteries to avoid possible damage thatmay be caused bybatteriesleakage.
•Avoid keeping the remote control in extremelyhot or humid locations.
•Donot point bright lightsat the remotecontrol sensor (likelaser pointers).
•Do not placeobjects between the remote control unit and the remote control sensor.
•Do not usethis remote control while using theremote control unit of anyother equipment at
the same time, the signalsmay mix.
Workingconditionsandprecautionsfor therechargeablebattery
New batteriesshould be fully charged before initial use.
Batteryshould be changed byan adult for safety.
Batteryshould onlybe used and chargedwhen temperatures are between 32 -100OF.
Never put the batteryin fire or water.
Do not exposethe batteryto high temperaturesor store in hot, sunnyplaces.
Do not short the batteryterminals.
Do not open the battery.
When the batteryisweak, the ON/STANDBYindicator will flash and the Low Powericon
“ ” will appear on the LCD screen and then the power automaticallyturns off. If this
occurs, pleaseusethe AC adaptor to recharge the batteryor playthe set on AC power.

2SlidetheDVD player sPOWER switch totheONposition,the DVDlogo (start-uppicture)will
appearonthescreen.
1Press the set OPEN button and lift the LCD screen.
3Press the OPEN button on theDVD player to open the disc
door.Place adiscgentlyon thetraywiththe label sideupand
close thedoorby pushingitdown.The DVD playerstartstoread
thedisc stable ofcontents (thismay take afew seconds).
5Press the VOLUME +or VOLUME –button to adjust the volume level.
6Press the BRIGHTNESS and COLOR buttonstoadjust the brightness and the color of
theLCDscreen.
NOTE 1: Load the discwith thelabel sidefacingup,when
playing adouble-sided disc, load it with the desired
playing side face down.
NOTE 2: “NO DISC”willshow in thedisplay if the discis upside
downor the discisbadlyscratched or dirty,it will not
play.Pleaseclean it or change the disc before use.
Also you can buy adiscpolishertotrytorepairthe
scratched disc.
8To pause the playback, press the OK button on the remote or the PLAY/PAUSE button
on the player.Toresume playback, press the OK button on the remote or the PLAY/
PAUSE button on the player again.
NOTE 1: During play,pressing the STOPbutton oncewill show “PRE STOP ”in the
display,If you press the STOPbutton the second time, the displaywill show
“STOP ”,and now your system isin the full STOP mode.
NOTE 2: Leaving the set in the stop mode for alonger time will drain the batterythe same
asduring normal play.
9Toskip to anothertrack/chapter,presstheNEXT orPREVIOUS button repeatedly
duringplayback.
4Some discs will startplayingautomatically,andothers willdisplaytheDisc Contents Menu on
thescreen.Ifthemenuisshown,usethe , , & buttonstohighlight yourselection
andpressthe OK button to confirm.
10 Toaccess the disc menu or title menu duringDVD play,press the MENU or TITLE button
on the remote control.
11 Remember to shut offthe player byslidingthe POWER switchto the OFF position when
the movie finishes playing.
NOTE: This player hasascreen saver which will displayabouncing DVD logo if no video is
played for awhile.

3.SELECTINGAUDIOMODE
IfaDVDdisc contains aMulti-Audiosoundtrackfeature,youcanselectthedesiredaudio
language bypressing the AUDIO button on the set or on the remote repeatedlyduring play,
playback statuswill be displayed on the screen. The AUDIO button can alsoselect director s
cutsdialogue and other disc dialogue.
Note 2:This DVDplayerdoes not support DTSdecoding.For discs withDTSdecoding,
please press the AUDIO button to select another audio output mode, such as
AC-3 until youhear thesound.
Note 1: Ifyoupressthe AUDIO button forseveral times, butthe desiredlanguageisnotselected,
itmeansasecondlanguageisnotavailableonthe disc.
NOTE: This operation works onlywith DVD discs on which multiplesubtitle languages are
recorded.Some DVDs haveno subtitles,somemay have5ormore.If no subtitlesare
recorded on your DVD, pressing this button will not change the subtitles.
Toremove the subtitles display,press the SUBTITLE button again till “:[OFF] ”shows.
4.CHANGESUBTITLE LANGUAGE (DVDONLY)
Youcan select adesired subtitle quickly and easilywiththeSUBTITLE button on theset or on theremote.

Turn down the volume of the DVD player and connect the headphones(optional, not included)

1Make sure all the products are plugged back into the AC (mains)power.
2Press the set OPEN button and lift the LCD screen.
3SlidetheDVD player sPOWER switch totheONposition,the DVDlogo (start-uppicture)will
appearonthescreen.
4Turn on yourTVand set it to DVDmode (pleasesee boxbelow), theDVDlogo will appear on
yourTV sscreen.
5Press the OPEN button on the DVD player to open the disc door.Place adiscgently onthe
traywiththe label sideupandclosethe doorby pushing itdown.The DVDplayerstarts to
read thedisc stableofcontents (thismay take afew seconds).
6Some discs will startplayingautomatically,andothers willdisplaytheDisc Contents Menu on
thescreen.Ifthemenuispresented,usethe , , & buttonstohighlight yourselection
andpressOKbutton to confirm.
7Press the VOLUME +or VOLUME –button on DVD sremote and on your TV sremote to
adjust the volume level.
8Fold down the LCD screen cover,the DVD playerwill continue to work, but the screen will
be dark.
9Tostop playback, press the STOPbutton.
10 Topausethe playback,press the OK button on the remote. Toresume playback,
press the OK button again.
NOTE 1: During play,press the STOPbutton once, the display will show “PRE STOP ”.
Ifyoupressthe STOPbutton thesecondtime,the display willshow “STOP ”,
and now your system isin the full STOP mode.
NOTE 2: Leaving the set in the stop mode for alonger time will drain the batterythe same
asduring normal play.
11 Toskip to anothertrack/chapter,presstheNEXT orPREVIOUS button repeatedly
duringplayback.
12 Toaccess the disc menu or title menu duringDVD play,press the MENU or TITLE button
on the remote control.

14 Remember to shut off the player byslidingthe POWER switchto the OFF position when
the movie finishes playing.
HowtoFindyourTV’sVideoInput Channel
Make sure you havemade all the connections(see page 17), you may need to change
your TV svideo input mode to see the DVD player smenu and movies, alsodouble check
that both TV and player are powered from the mains (AC power).
1.Set your TV to the correct video input. Forexample, if you connect this player to the
VIDEO 1input on your TV,switchyour TV to video 1.
2.Switchyour TV to the correct video input channel. The video input channel varieswith
differentTVbrands andmodels, many TVremotecontrols have aTV/VIDEObutton
whichcan be usedtochangetodifferent videoinputsand back to TV fornormal
broadcast viewing,onsome olderTVs,youmayneedtopresschannel3onyour
TV sremote. Onceyouselected the correct channel, your TV will show the opening
