POWER SUPPLY
C. Using the rechargeable battery
The rechargeablebatterypackis suitableforportableusewhichallows you to enjoy the
unique functions of this unit outdoors.
Remembertochargethe battery fully before
initial use (about5hours).
You can power this portable DVD player byconnecting the AC adaptor,the car adaptor or the
rechargeable battery(all included).
A. Using the AC adaptor
Thisplayer issupplied with anAC adaptor for powering the
unit and charging the battery.
Insert the AC adaptor plug to the DC IN jack on the portable
DVD player and connect theadaptor to awall outlet.

CAUTION:
1.The included car adaptor isfor usewith this unit only.Do not useit with other equipment.
2. Use this unit onlywith the included car adaptor,using with other car adaptorscould damage
the unit and the unit may not work.
3.Do not operate this unit or view video movies while driving avehicle.
4. If some linesappear on the screen during the startup of the vehicle, pleaseturn the unit off
and turn it on again after the vehicle isrunning.
5.Placethe unit in aproper position for viewing.
6.When the inside of the cigarette lighter socket is dirty with ashes or dust, the plug section may
become hot or notworkduetopoor contact. Be suretocleanthe cigarettelighter socketbeforeuse.
7.Disconnectthecaradaptor fromboththeunitandthe cigarettelightersocket whenthe
batteryisfully charged and the unit isnot in use.
Tocharge the battery
1.Insert the AC adaptor’splug into the DC INjack on the DVD player and connect the AC
adaptor to awalloutlet. After5seconds,the batteryLEDindicator will turnonandstarttoflash.
This player issupplied with a12V car adaptor for powering
the unit and recharging the battery while in avehicle that
has a12V power system.

NOTE:
•Point the remote control unit from less than 20feet (6 m) from the remote sensor and within
about 60o of the front of the unit.
•Batteriesshould be changedbyan adult for safety.
•Reversing polaritieswill damagethe batteriesand possiblyyour remote.Besuretofollow
polarities(+and –)asindicated.
•Do not mix different typesof batteriestogether (Alkaline, Carbon-Zinc, Nickel-Cadmium
etc.), or old batterieswith new ones.
•When thebatteries havebecomedischarged,theymustbedisposedofinasafemanner that
complieswith allapplicable laws.
•When the batteriesbecomesweak, the operating distanceof the remote control decreases
and you will need to replacethe batteries.
•When the remote control isnot to be used foralong time (2 months or more), removethe
batteries to avoid possible damage that may be caused bybatteryleakage.
•Avoid keeping the remote control in extremelyhot or humid locations.
•Donot point bright lightsat the remotecontrol sensor (likelaser pointers).
•Do not placeobjects between the remote control unit and the remote control sensor.
•Do not usethis remote control while using theremote control unit of anyother equipment at
the same time, the signalsmay mix.
Workingconditionsandprecautionsfor therechargeablebattery
New batteriesshould be fully chargedbefore initial use(about 5hours).
Batteryshould be changed byan adult for safety.
Batteryshould onlybe used and chargedwhen temperatures are between 32 -100OF.
Never put the batteryin fire or water.
Do not exposethe batteryto high temperaturesor store in hot, sunnyplaces.
Do not short the batteryterminals.
Do not open the battery.
When the batteryisweak, the ON/STANDBYindicator will flash and the Low Powericon
” will appear on the LCD screen and then the power automaticallyturns off. If this
occurs, pleaseusethe AC adaptor to recharge the batteryor playthe set on AC power.

NOTE: When insertingthebatterywhiletheset isACpoweredorcarpowered,therewillbea
delayofseveral secondsbeforethe LEDlights up. This is becausethebatterycharging
circuit needsto reset anddetect thebatterystatus.

button to work.

2SlidetheDVD player’sPOWER switch totheONposition,the DVDlogo (start-uppicture)will
appearonthescreen.
1Lift the LCD screen.
3Press the OPEN button on theDVD player to open the disc
door.Place adiscgently onthe tray withthelabelside up,make
surethe discis seated on thespindlebypressingdown in thecenter,
then closethe doorby pushing it down. The DVDplayerstarts to
read thedisc’stableofcontents (thismay take afew seconds).
5Press the VOLUME +or VOLUME –button to adjust the volume level.
6PresstheSCREEN ON/OFF buttonontheremote control, thenpresstheleft and right
direction buttonsto adjust the brightness and the color of the LCD screen if needed.
NOTE 1: Load the discwith thelabel sidefacingup,when
playing adouble-sided disc, load it with the desired
playing side face down.
NOTE 2: NO DISC”willshow in thedisplay if the discis upside
downor the discisbadlyscratched or dirty,it will not
play.Pleaseclean it or change the disc before use.
Also you can buy adiscpolishertotrytorepairthe
scratched disc.
8Topausethe playback, press the OK button on the remote control or the PLAY/PAUSE
button on the player.Toresume playback, press the OK button on the remote control
or thePLAY/PAUSE button on the player again.
NOTE 1: During play,pressing the STOPbutton oncewill show PRE STOP ”in the
display,if you press the STOPbutton the second time, the displaywill show
STOP ”,and now your system isin the full STOP mode.
NOTE 2: Leaving the set in the stop mode for alonger time will drain the batterythe same
asduring normal play,remember to shut offthe power after use.
9To skip to another track/chapter, press theSKIP/SEARCH orSKIP/SEARCH button
repeatedly during playback.
4Some discs will startplayingautomatically,andothers willdisplaytheDisc Contents Menu on
thescreen.Ifthemenu isshown,usethe ( , , & )directionbuttonsto highlightyour
selectionand press the OK buttontoconfirm,otherwiseyoumaypress play.
10 Toaccess the disc menu or title menu duringDVD play,press the MENU or TITLE button
on the remote control or on the DVD player.
11 Remember to shut offthe player byslidingthe POWER switchto the OFF position when
the movie finishes playing.
NOTE: This player hasascreen saver which will displayabouncing DVD logo if no video is
played for awhile.

Always ensure when connecting cables, the DVD player,TV and anyother electrical equipment
are turned off and not plugged into the AC outlet.
Ensure that you observethe color codingwhen connecting audio and video cables.

Connect one end of the audio/video cable plugsto the audio/video out jacks on the DVD player
and other end to the audio/video in jacks on your TV byfollowing the color codeson the jacks
and plugs(refer to diagram A).

Turn down the volume of the DVD player and connect the headphones(optional, not included)
to the DVD player’sPHONES jack, when headphonesare connected, the speakersof your

4Turn on yourTVand set it to DVDmode (pleaseseebox below),theDVD logowill appear on
yourTV’sscreen.
5Press the OPEN button on the DVD player to open the disc door.Place adiscgently onthe
traywiththe label sideup, makesurethedisc isseatedonthespindlebypressingdown in
thecenter,closethe doorby pushing itdown.The DVD playerstarts toreadthedisc’stable
ofcontents (thismay take afew seconds).
6Some discs will startplayingautomatically,andothers willdisplaytheDisc Contents Menu on
thescreen.Ifthemenuis presented,usethe ( , , & )directionbuttonsto highlightyour
selectionand press OK button to confirm.
7Press the VOLUME +or VOLUME –button on the DVD’sremotecontrol and on your TV’s
remote control to adjust the volume level.
8Fold down the LCD screen cover,the DVD playerwill continue to work, but the screen will
be dark.
9Tostop playback, press the STOPbutton.
10 Topausethe playback, press the OK button on the remote control. Toresume playback,
press the OK button again.
NOTE 1: During play,press the STOPbutton once, the display will show PRE STOP ”.
Ifyoupressthe STOPbutton thesecondtime,the display willshow STOP ”,
and now your system isin the full STOP mode.
NOTE 2: Leaving the set in the stop mode for alonger time will drain the batterythe same
asduring normal play,remember to shut offthe power after use.
11 Toskiptoanother track/chapter,presstheSKIP/SEARCH or buttonrepeatedly
duringplayback.
12 Toaccess the disc menu or title menu duringDVD play,press the MENU or TITLE button
on the remote control.

HowtoFindyourTV’sVideoInput Channel
Make sure you havemade all the connections(see page 17), you may need to change
your TV’svideo input mode to see the DVD player’smenu and movies, alsodouble check
that both TV and player are plugged into the AC outlet.
1.Set your TV to the correct video input. Forexample, if you connect this player to the
VIDEO 1input on your TV,switchyour TV to video 1.
2.Switchyour TV to the correct video input channel. The video input channel varieswith
differentTVbrands andmodels, many TVremotecontrols have aTV/VIDEObutton
whichcan be usedtochangetodifferent videoinputsand back to TV fornormal
broadcast viewing, on some older TVs, youmay need to press channel 3or 4on your
TV’sremote. Onceyouselected the correct channel, your TV will show the opening
DVD screen. For more details,pleasesee your TV’smanual.
