APPLICATION & OPERATION
Note: The rst time you use the soldering iron, it may smoke slightly as the heating
element dries out. This is normal and should only last for a few minutes.
ONLY USE FOR ELECTRICAL WORK - Acidic solder will damage the iron tip.
• Allow the tip to fully heat up for approximately 45 seconds.
• Set the required temperature by turning the control on the handle.
Note: the marked indications are multiplied by 10 ie 25 = 250
o
C.
• The range is adjustable from 200 to 450
o
C.
• The lower range is recommended for quick cooling of soldered joints, less dioxides
and cleaner joints.
CLEANING
SPECIFICATION
• Cleaning should only be done when the iron is switched off and at room temperature.
• The iron may be cleaned with a damp cloth and a small amount of liquid detergent if
necessary.
• Never submerse the soldering iron in liquid or allow any liquid to enter the case.
• Do not use any chemicals, abrasives or solvents that could damage the iron.
Voltage 200-240V~50Hz
Power 30-50W Max
Temperature 200-450oC
Temperature precision ±3oC
• Clean off any dirt, rust or paint on the part you wish to solder with the
supplied tools.
• Heat the part with the soldering iron.
• Apply rosin-based solder to the part and melt it with the soldering iron.
Note: If using non-rosin based solder, ensure you apply a soldering paste
to the part before applying the solder.
Wait for the solder to cool and harden before moving the
soldered part.
Note: A soldering sponge is recommended, lightly dampened
with water before use. Before soldering, clean the tip on the sponge and then tin the tip
with fresh solder. Do not use the sponge dry.
• Between use (or during breaks), always put the soldering iron in the holder.
• When the soldering work is done, switch off the power rst, clean the tip and tin
with fresh solder to protect it from oxidation.
• Never le down the tips or attempt to clean using abrasives.
