DESCRIPTION
This is an optical smoke detector. These are particularly sensitive to
detecting visible microparticles (which arise from smoldering fires)
and react faster than ionization smoke detectors. An example of such
smoldering fires is a burning cigarette on a couch or bed, a common
cause of devastating fires. Please note that this device does not detect
flames, temperature/heat, carbon monoxide or other dangerous
gases. The smoke detector has many advanced features and a long
service life with the fixed battery.
RECOMMENDED LOCATIONS FOR SMOKE
DETECTORS
1. Your smoke detector is suitable for the landing, hall, bedroom, living
room and dining room.
2. Install it in the stairwell and on each floor.
3. Smoke, heat and burning things spread horizontally after rising to
the ceiling, so install the alarm in the middle of the ceiling of a
standard built house.
4. If for some reason the alarm cannot be installed in the middle of the
ceiling, the distance from the smoke detector to the wall should be at
least 30 cm (see Figure 1).
5. If the length of the room or hall is more than 10 meters, you need to
install several alarms there.
6. If the ceiling slopes, the smoke detector should be installed at least
50 cm from the highest ceiling point in the room (see Figure 2).
Attention: This smoke detector is also suitable for installation in
caravans, motor homes and mobile homes.

5. Avoid extremely dusty or dirty environments. The dust particles
prevent the detector from functioning properly.
6. Also avoid the airflow of (loose) air conditioning units and fans.
ACTIVATE:
Press and hold the test button for about 3 seconds until the LED lights
up. Then release the test button within about 2 seconds. The smoke
detector gives a beep signal to indicate that it is activated and enters
the working state.
INSTALLATION:
WARNING: To prevent injury, the smoke detector must be securely
attached to the ceiling, as described below.
Model: DVM-SA30
LOCATIONS TO AVOID
1. Avoid the environment of appliances or places where normal
combustion regularly takes place (such as in kitchens, near stoves,
hot water boilers, etc.). Use specialized smoke detectors, such as
temperature detectors, for these areas to prevent unwanted alarms.
2. Keep at least 3 meters away from rooms with high humidity, such as
bathrooms or rooms near dishwashers or washing machines.
3. Keep a minimum distance of 1 meter from air vents or ventilation
openings for heating and cooling. The air can blow away/suck away
smoke from the detector, preventing the detector from sounding the
alarm (in time).
4. Avoid areas where the temperature may fall below 5°C or above
40°C.

OPERATION AND TESTING:
Testing
Press the test button. If the detector works correctly, the alarm will go
off. If the alarm does not go off, the battery is empty or the smoke
detector is defective.
DO NOT USE an open flame to test your detector! You can use this to
damage the detector or cause a fire.
NOTE: Test the smoke detector every week!
Resting state:
The red LED flashes 1 time every 48 seconds to indicate that the
smoke detector is active.
Alarm state:
When the detector detects combustion products, it gives a sound
alarm and the red LED flashes once every second. The sound alarm
and the flashing LED continue until the air is clean again.
Low battery voltage:
IMPORTANT: For the smoke detector to function correctly, the battery
voltage must be sufficient. If the battery voltage becomes too low, the
detector will sound a beep every 48 seconds, with the LED flashing 1x.
When you hear this, you should immediately install a new smoke
detector.
The smoke detector will warn of a low battery voltage for at least 30
days.
If you do not install a new detector in time, the smoke detector may not
receive enough voltage to alert you in a real fire situation.
Fault notication:
The detector beeps every 48 seconds.
Alarm pause
If the smoke detector is in alarm you can press the test button, the
alarm signal (beeps) is then silent for about 8 minutes. The red LED
continues to flash every 8 seconds, as an indication that the smoke
detector is on Alarm pause.

2. Buy a new smoke detector and replace the
defective detector.
The alarm sounds
differently. It starts and
stops again.
1. Clean the smoke detector. See "REGULAR

Smoke detector
occasionally makes
alarm or makes alarm
when cooking,
showering, or something
similar.
1. Press the alarm pause button.
2. Clean the smoke detector. See "REGULAR
MAINTENANCE".
3. Move the smoke detector to a different
location and press the test button.
If the smoke detector generates the complete alarm signal (beeps
and flashing LED) and you are not testing the alarm, the smoke
detector warns of a potentially dangerous situation that requires your
immediate attention. Use the alarm break only after you have made
sure that there is no persistent fire situation. Do not block the smoke
detector vents or turn off the smoke detector in any way, as this will lift
your protection.
Smoke detectors can sometimes respond to cooking fumes or other
non-emergency situations. In the event of a known false alarm, your
smoke detector can be temporarily switched off by pressing the test
button. Your smoke detector automatically returns to full sensitivity
within 8 minutes.
NOTE:
1. Press and release the alarm pause button (reset button), the alarm
signal stops.
2. The alarm stops and goes into a reset cycle with reduced sensitivity
for about 8 minutes.
3. During the reset cycle with reduced sensitivity, the red LED flashes
once every 8 seconds.
4. The smoke detector will automatically return to full sensitivity after
completing the reset cycle and the red LED will flash again every 48
seconds.
DANGER: Never ignore an alarm. Ignoring the alarm can lead to
injury or death. If your smoke alarm goes off and you're not entirely
sure of the source of the smoke, make sure everyone leaves the house
immediately.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A FIRE IN YOUR HOME
1. Don't panic and stay calm.
2. Alert your roommates and especially small children.
3. All leave your home immediately. Every second counts, so don't
waste time getting dressed or picking up valuables.
4. Do not open any interior door without first feeling the surface. If the
door is hot, or if you see smoke coming through the cracks, don't open
that door! Choose another escape route, if necessary through a
window to the outside (take into account how high above the ground
that window is).
If the door is cool, place your shoulder against it, open the door a little,
and be ready to slam the door shut if heat and smoke come in.
5. If the air is smoky, stay close to the floor. Breathe shallowly through a
cloth, wetting it if possible.
6. If you are outside, go to a place that has been agreed in advance
with your housemates. Make sure everyone is present.
7. Call the fire department with your mobile phone or with the
neighbor's phone. Under no circumstances do you go back to get your
phone or other things.
8. Do not go back into your home until the fire department gives
permission.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
In addition to performing a monthly test, the detector must be cleaned
regularly to remove dust and stuck dirt.
Clean the detector at least once a month.
Use a vacuum cleaner with the soft brush, vacuum the entire outside
of the smoke detector.
This smoke detector has a low-battery monitor that ensures that the
detector beeps approximately every 48 seconds for at least 30 days
and the red LED flashes at the same time when the battery is low.
If there is an empty or defective battery or other malfunctions, you can
consult "TROUBLESHOOTING" for a solution. If there are still
malfunctions and you are in the warranty period, you can send the
smoke detector to your supplier.
IMPORTANT: Do not try to open the case to clean the inside. This can
damage the measuring chamber and you lose the right to warranty.
Warnings:
• Optical smoke detectors can reduce the risk of disaster, but they
cannot guarantee 100% safety.
• To ensure your maximum safety, you should install all smoke
detectors exactly according to this manual.
• Keep the smoke detectors clean. Make sure no dust accumulates
