Please read the instruction manual thoroughly before using your new appliance. It is important to keep these
instructions as a useful reminder that’ll help you enjoy the many features available. The manufacturer is not
responsible if the appliance becomes damaged or defective as a result of the user not following the information
included in the instruction manual. If the appliance becomes faulty during regular use, it should only be repaired
by an authorised service engineer.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance.
Please read this section very carefully!
Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.
• Neverusetheapplianceoutdoors.
• Thisdeviceisnotsupposedtobeusedbyphysicallyormentallyhandicappedpeople,orpersonswithout
experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of

Using or storing the appliance in a wet, humid or damp environment can cause:
- deterioration and premature aging of the cover and electric insulation of the appliance,
- premature wearing and aging of the plastic and rubber components,
- rust and corrosion affecting electrical components and metal parts.
The effects of direct sunlight on the appliance can include:
- accelerated deterioration of the appliance casing and its plastic and rubber components,
damage to strength and other structural features. The appliance’s surface may become porous
and fragile, which may result in a safety risk.
Continuous heavy duty use may cause:
- premature structural wear and tear and premature aging of the motor due to extensive use of
the appliance, resulting from wear and tear and overheating due to continuous use.
Storing the appliance in cold or frosty environment may cause:
- damage to the plastic and rubber components; if they become fragile, this may result in a safety
risk.
- oxidation resulting from condensation, and corrosion of the metal components.
Direct and indirect heat (e.g. being too close to an oven or a heating appliance) can cause:

Following the operating instructions and avoiding any of the conditions listed above will help you
increase the lifespan of the appliance. The manufacturer is not responsible if the appliance is stored
inappropriately or contrary to these instructions. You are recommended to have the appliance
serviced regularly by an authorised engineer to keep it working for as long as possible.
• If your appliance is damaged or operates in an abnormal way, immediately stop using it and take it to an
authorised service engineer for checking, repair or adjustment.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage that results from overuse, incorrect operation, incorrect
maintenance, neglecting the information given in the instruction manual or normal wear and tear. In
addition, the manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by any parts of the appliance breaking or
cracking.
• Mustnotimmersetheapplianceinwateroranyotherliquid!Ifhumiditygetsintotheappliance,itcancause
defects, so do not use it in the bathroom or any other room where there is high humidity.
• Attention! Should the appliance, despite your caution, fall into water or make contact with humidity in any
other way, please take it to the authorised service station and have it checked by an expert before re-using it!
We have to call your attention to the fact that if the product becomes defective due to environmental effects
like this, it will be considered as improper handling, and the manufacturer’s warranty will lapse!
• If you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time (more than 1 month) then please remove the
batteries from the battery holder. If you do not do this, corrosive chemicals may escape from the batteries
and damage the appliance.

• The manufacturer excludes its liability for broken device parts or for any damage resulting from
modifications, improper handling or cleaning, chemicals released from the device, incorrect battery
replacement or from not correctly following the user’s manual.
• Attention! The appliance must not be disassembled, its casing must not be removed, or its repair attempted.
There are no parts inside the appliance that could be home repaired or used for any other purpose. In the
case of any defect of the appliance please have it repaired only by an authorised special service station. The
manufacturer does not undertake any warranty for any improper attempt at repair, or any intervention
performed by unauthorised persons.
Keep your environment clean! The device cannot be disposed of with general waste, as it causes
pollution to wildlife and severely endangers human health. At the end of its life please send in the
product to an approved local recycling and environmentally friendly disposal facility for electrical
devices.Donotdisposeofflatbatterieswithgeneralwaste.Flatbatteriesarehazardousand
pollute the environment if not disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
• The appliance can be energised only by batteries. Neither a mains connection, supply adapter nor supply
accumulator can be used for its power supply.
• Pleaseuseonlybatteriesasspecifiedintheinstructionmanual.Otherbatteries(othersizeorshape)cannot
be inserted in the appliance and it may become inoperable or damaged when used with batteries supplying a
different voltage.
• Please always replace all the batteries at the same time and by the same type.
• Never dispose of the replaced batteries in the household waste, because they will endanger the environment!
Please use a dedicated waste container provided for this purpose or a collecting station for disposing of used
batteries!
• Never throw the batteries in the fire, because they can explode.
• Always switch the appliance off after use, and in case of longer storage remove the batteries from the battery
holder.
• Take particular care of the blood pressure meter cuff and make sure it doesn’t bend, stretch or wrinkle
• The appliance is intended only for adults and for human use, and it can only be used as specified in the
instruction manual.
Important information!
We have to advise you that although the appliance outputs very precise measured values, the
values can only considered as informative data by which you can check the condition of your
health, or in the case of persons under medical treatment, it can be used for regular self-checking
of the blood pressure at home. The pressure gauge will provide precise values only if used as
specified in the user’s manual.

Should you happen to measure a blood pressure differing from the normal, healthy pressure, or
if you have any doubt in respect of the measured value, please have your blood pressure checked
by a specialist doctor for diagnostic purposes, so that you can control the value measured by the
appliance. We recommend that you take the appliance with you and ask for the advice of the
doctor.
In order to maintain permanent reliable and accurate measurement please, have the
measurement accuracy of the device checked at an authorised measurement point, assigned for
calibration, not later than after one year of use. The checking should be repeated at least yearly,
for your safety.
• Donotusetheapplianceneartoappliancesemittingelectromagneticwaves(e.g.mobilephonesor
microwave ovens). They can disturb the appliance resulting in faulty measurement and incorrect values.
• If after switching on nothing appears on the display, check whether the batteries have been correctly inserted
and that they are correctly touching the battery contacts in the battery compartment.
• Please keep the appliance in its box when it is not in use, this way you can protect it against possible damage
during storage.
Please keep this instruction manual. If you give the appliance to anyone else, you must give them
this instruction manual, too!

BLOOD PRESSURE  GENERAL INFORMATION
Blood circulation ensures an appropriate supply of oxygen to the body. Blood pressure is the pressure the blood
exerts on the artery wall. The systolic value (upper value) can be measured when the myocardium contracts and
forces blood into the arteries. The diastolic value (lower value) is measured when the myocardium relaxes and
blood flows from the veins into the heart.

In the human body, blood pressure increases naturally with age. This is the result of aging of the blood vessels.
Increased blood pressure can be further aggravated by smoking, regular consumption of alcohol and drinks
containing caffeine, extreme salt consumption, stress and lack of regular exercise. Also latent diseases such
asproblemswiththekidneysorahighlevelofcholesterol(LDL)cancauseincreasedbloodpressure,because
they result in the blood vessels losing flexibility. High blood pressure increases the risk of a stroke or myocardial
infarction.Duetothefactthathighbloodpressurecausessymptomsthatcanremainunnoticedforalongtime,
it is necessary to check our blood pressure regularly, to make sure that it is within the healthy range. A person’s
blood pressure fluctuates during the day, as a result of exercise or changes in our mood, and this is why only the
average of several measurements or the number of changes can give us meaningful results.

The average of the measured blood pressure values can be evaluated on the basis of the figure below. Systolic
values below 90 indicate low blood pressure.

If the average of the blood pressure values measured by you differs from the normal values given in the table, or
themeasuredvaluesshowsignificantfluctuationsandthustheyfrequentlydifferfromthehealthyvalues,we
advise you to consult your doctor. Only specialist doctors can make a correct diagnosis, based on measurements
madewithmedicalinstruments.Furthermore,werecommendthatyoutakeyourbloodpressuremonitorwith
you, as it is necessary to check the calibration of your device from time to time.
In addition to the medical treatment prescribed by your doctor you can promote efficient reduction of your blood
pressure by observing the following suggestions:
-Slimmingcourseordietthatwouldreducethelevelofharmfulcholesterol(LDL)
-Reducingtheconsumptionofdrinkscontainingalcoholandcaffeine
- Giving up smoking
- Moderate salt consumption
-Regularexercise
POWER SUPPLY
The device operates on 2 x 1.5 V AAA batteries.
1. Slide the battery compartment cover as shown by the arrow, then remove it.
2. Insert the batteries in the battery holder according to the marked polarity.
3. Finallyreplacethebatterycompartmentcover,makingsureitissecurelyfitted.
• Batteries must be replaced when the battery icon appears on the display. Both batteries must be
replaced by a new ones. You must use alkali batteries only. Ni-Cd/Ni-MH batteries have an output voltage not
exceeding 1.2V, which is insufficient to operate the blood pressure measuring instrument.

• If you do not want to use the device for a long period of time, remove batteries from the battery
compartment as they can leak - caustic electrolyte spilled out may damage the device (in which case the
manufacturer’s warranty becomes void). In order to avoid damage, you must follow these instructions:
• Batteries must be put into the compartment with their correct polarity (+ and -), as marked on the battery
compartment.
• Never use new and used batteries together.
• Never use batteries of different manufacturer and type together.
• Used batteries must immediately be replaced by new ones. If you do not want to use the device for a long
time, remove batteries from the battery compartment.
USING OF APPLIANCE
Blood pressure measurement:
In order to obtain reliable measurements, do not do any strenuous physical activities before beginning
measurements.Restforabout5to10minutesbeforetakingmeasurements.Justbeforeorduringmeasurements
do not eat, drink or smoke. Certain irregularities, e.g. changes in heartbeat, fibrillations might cause erroneous
measurement results.
1.Freeyourforearmbyremovinganyclothesobstructingyourarm’sskin,as
thebloodpressuremetercuffneedstotouchtheskinsurface.Donotwear
watches, bracelets etc. during measurement.
2.Restyourelbowonatable.
3. Open the velcro of the blood pressure meter and pass your hand through.
Tighten the device by using velcro at a distance of about 1 cm from your hand
as shown in the figure.
4. Turn your palm upwards, hold fingers and wrist in natural position during
measurement.Donotdoubleyourfistorletyourwristhangdown.Duringthe
measurement hold your forearm with your other hand as shown in the figure.
Blood pressure measurement process
1. Pushdownthe“ON/OFF”button.Allthesymbolswillappearonthedisplayforashorttime.Thisletsyou
checkthefailsafeoperatingstatusofthedisplay.Afterself-test,thesign“0”flashesafewtimesthenthe
meter begins pumping up the cuff.
2. The apparatus pumps up the cuff automatically to a magnitude of 190 Hg mm, then it decreases the pressure
gradually. In case of a higher blood pressure value the apparatus automatically pumps the cuff further twice
orthreetimesforthesakeofasuccessfulmeasurement.Duringthemeasurementthesymbolofpulse
marked with a heart blinks following the rhythm of the pulse.

3. At the end of the measurement a sound signal can be heard and the blood pressure and the pulse values
appear on the display. The measured values are automatically stored within the memory of the apparatus, as
well.
4. Aftermeasurementshavebeentaken,thedevicecanbeshutdownbypressingthe“ON/OFF”buttonorwill
automatically be switched off after 3 minutes if left unused.
Note: Wait about 5 to 10 minutes before starting a new measurement. This time is necessary for vessels to
recover their original status after measurement. Taking into consideration psychologic factors, for some
people a longer delay could be justified between two measurements.
Memory function:
After measuring, both blood pressure and pulse data will automatically be stored in the device’s memory. The
memory is able to store the last 120 measurements. When the memory is full the latest measurement data will
replace the earlier ones.
1. The memory function of the apparatus can be activated after the measurement, or with the apparatus
switchedoff.WithpressingtheSTARTbuttononceafterthemeasurement,theresultsoftheearlier
measurements can be displayed.
2. Withpressingthe“START”buttonagainthedatameasuredbeforecanbedisplayedinareversechronological
order.Youcanseethesymbol“No”andthenumberofthestoredvalue.
Todeletethedatastoredwithinthememory,firstswitchontheturned-offapparatuswithpressingthe“START”
buttononce,thenpressandholdthe“ON/OFF”buttonuntilhorizontallinesappearonthescreenintheplaceof
the numbers.
DEVICE MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
• Whennotinuse,storethedeviceinitsplasticboxinadry,dust-andfrostfreeplace.Donotexposetodirect
sunlight, or to extreme external temperatures.
• Ifyoudonotwanttousethebloodpressuremeterforanextendedtime,removebatteriesfromthebattery
compartment.
• Cleanboththecoverandcuffofthedevicewithamoistfluff-freecloth,thenwipeitthoroughlydrywitha
dry cloth.
• Completelydrythedevicebeforeusingorstoringit.
• Inordertoobtainaccurateandprecisemeasurements,checkthedeviceyearlywithyourdoctor.
• Duringcleaning,neversubmergethedeviceoritscuffintowaterorholdunderawatertap.
• Donotdismantlethedevice.
• Whencleaningtheappliance,neverusesolvent(acetone,benzole,petrol,alcohol,etc.)asthesemaysolve
thecasingmaterial,ortheinternalpartsoftheapplianceiftheygetinto.Donotusecleaningagentswith
coarse or grinding effect.
