Never adjust the cutting head when the product is

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

AVOID DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENTS - Do

not use this product in the rain or in damp or wet

conditions. Do not operate in gaseous or explosive

atmospheres. Motors in these products normally

spark, and the sparks might ignite fumes.

DRESS PROPERLY- Don’t wear loose clothing or

jewelry and wear protective hair covering to contain

long hair. They can be caught in moving parts.

Use of rubber gloves and protective footwear is

recommended when working outdoors.

USE SAFETY GLASSES - Wear safety glasses

with side shields or goggles that are marked to

comply with ANSI Z87.1 standard when operating

this product. Use face or dust mask if environment

is dusty.

DANGER: Risk of cut. Keep hands away from

blades.

USE RIGHT APPLIANCE - Do not use this product

for any job except that for which it is intended.

WARNING: Switch off before adjusting or

cleaning.

CAUTION: The blades continue to move for a

few seconds after the tool is switched off.

AVOID UNINTENTIONAL STARTING - Do not carry

this product with finger on switch.

IMPORTANT! Any use which is not expressly

permitted in the manual may result in damage to

the tool and place the use in serious danger.

IMPORTANT! Before each use check for

moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage,

should be stored indoors in a dry location out of

reach of children.

STAY ALERT - Watch what you are doing. Use

common sense. Do not operate this product

when you are tired or under the influence of drugs,

or line, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE! IT CAN

DANGEROUS. Release the unit in the safest

manner possible. Disconnect the damaged

electrical cord or line from the power source. If

possible, do so safely, if in doubt, call an electrician

or the electrical contractor for assistance. Failure to

heed this Danger can result in serious personal

injury and possible death.

LIGHTING - Only operate this tool in daylight or

good artificial light.

DON’T OVERREACH - Keep proper footing and

balance at all times.

DANGER: Make sure trigger switch is off and

safety button is not pushed when clearing jammed

material from blades.

MAINTAIN TOOL WITH CARE-Keep blades sharp

and clean for best performance and to reduce the

risk of injury. Keep handle dry, clean and free from

oil and grease.

UNPACKING

Carefully remove the product from the box. Make sure that

all items listed in the packing list are included.

Inspect all items carefully to make sure no breakage or

damage occurred during shipping.

Do not discard the packing material until you have

carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the tool.

WARNING: If any parts are damaged or missing

please do not operate this product until the parts are

replaced. Failure to heed this warning could result in

serious personal injury. Call our customer service help

line at 1-800-633-1501 for assistance.

ASSEMBLY:

Since the equipment is supplied as grass shear, the

grass cutting blade has to be swapped over for the shrub

trimming blade which is supplied with the product.

Caution! Carry out all the following assembly,

dismantling and adjustment work without a rechargeable

battery – risk of injury.

Always use protective gloves and fit the blade guard

before changing the cutting mechanism.

1.Push the blade release buttons (Fig. 1) on both sides

and remove the blade at the same time. (Fig. 2).

2.Slide the blade housing into the mount on the equipment

housing.

3.Push the blade release buttons on both sides again

(Fig.3) and press the blade into the mount at the same

time. The drive unit on the equipment is now connected to

the blade.

4.Push the battery into the battery mount provided until

you hear the catch click into position. (Fig. 4)

STARTING AND STOPPING

Starting:

1. Remove the blade guard, then push the safety lock

button and press the on/off trigger switch at the

same time.

2. Release the safety lock button.

Stopping:

1. Release the on/off trigger switch. After switching off

wait until the blade is stationary.

2. Mount blade guard.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This product is intended for light trimming of shrubs,

hedges and lawn edges. Please note that this tool is not

designed for commercial, trade, or industrial use. Only

use this product for the purpose specified in these

instructions. Any other use will void the warranty.

GRASS CUTTER BLADE

Use the grass cutter blade for cutting the edges of lawns

and small areas of grass in private gardens and hobby

areas.

The grass cutter blade is not intended for cutting hedges

of chopping material up for composting.

Edging

Guide the tool along the edge of the lawn.

After use, install the blade guard.

Tips:

 Do not force the unit through dense growth, and if the

blades slow down, reduce your speed.

 Avoid trimming too close to dirt, sand or gravel, as this

could dull the blades and reduce the cutting efficiency.

 Do not allow the blade to contact paved surfaces,

stones or garden walls, as this will rapidly wear down

the blade.

SHRUB TRIMMING BLADE

Use the shrub trimming blade for trimming and shaping

individual bushes, shrubs, and climbing plants in private

domestic and hobby gardens.

The shrub trimming blade is not intended for cutting

grass / edging.

Cutting shrubs

 Before using, check the shrubs for foreign objects

e.g. wire, etc.

 When using the tool hold it away from yourself and

stand in a secure position with your weight evenly

balanced on both feet.

 When cutting, move steadily along the line of cut, so

that stems are fed directly into the cutter blades.

 After use, install the blade guard.

MAINTENANCE / CLEANING / STORAGE

MAINTENANCE:

CAUTION: Blades can cause injury. Do not

press the safety lock of the shear during

maintenance work.

Note: To ensure long and reliable service, regularly

carry out the following maintenance:

 Check for obvious defects such as a damaged

or loose blade, housing, or components.

 If the tool should stop working properly, repair

should be carried out by a qualified individual,

using identical replacement parts.

CAUTION: Never clean the trimming shears in

water (especially running water), as there is a risk

of personal injury and damage to the shears.

To obtain good cutting results, always make sure

the blades are sharp, and clean them from time to

time with a soft dry cloth.

For easier operation and longer blade life, use light

machine oil to lubricate the trimming and grass

shear blades before and after each use.

Check the condition of the cutting edges of the

blades, and always immediately remove notches

and burrs caused by stones, etc.

There are no parts inside the equipment which

require additional maintenance.

CLEANING / STORAGE

Danger! Remove the rechargeable battery before

cleaning!

 To clean the tool, make sure the battery is

detached from the unit.

 Clean the exterior of the tool thoroughly

using a soft brush and cloth. Do not use water,

solvents, or polishes.

 Remove all debris from the tool.

 After cleaning, cover the blades with the

guards provided.

 Fully recharge the battery before storing.

 If the tool is to be stored for an extended period

of time or during winter storage, charge the

battery at least once every there months to

protect it from damage.

 Store the tool in a dry secure place out of reach

of children.

 Do not place any other objects on top of the

tool.

 The ideal storage temperature is between 5

and 30 °C. Store the tool in its original

packaging.

 Do not store the tool in places with static

electricity.

Troubleshooting

- Plug charger into a working outlet

- Check current at receptacle by plugging in a lamp or

other appliance

- Check to see if receptacle is connected to a light switch

which turns power off when you turn out the lights

- Move charger and tool to a surrounding air temperature

of above 39 degree F (4 degree C) or below 104 degree

F (40 degree C)

CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK

Charge the battery pack only with the charger provided.

Allow at least 60 minutes of charge time before initial use

of the blower.

Make sure the power supply is normal household voltage,

120volts, 60Hz, AC only.

The battery charger should be operated in temperatures

between 39 and 104 degrees F

The battery should be charged in a cool, dry place.

2 to 3 initial charging/discharging cycles may be

required to achieve maximum run time/capacity.

DO NOT attempt to open the charger or the unit. There

are no customer serviceable parts inside. Call customer

service helpline at 1-800-633-1501 for assistance.

DO NOT incinerate battery packs even if they are

severely damaged or completely worn out. They can

explode in a fire causing injury.

DO NOT charge appliance in rain, or in wet locations.

Use the battery charger indoors only.

Disconnect charger from the power supply when not in

use to prevent damage to the charger during a power

surge.

When fully charged, the battery can be safely stored in

temperatures down to -4 degrees F for a period of up to

four weeks, before requiring charging. Fully charge battery

pack every 90 days.

If over a period of time the battery pack quickly runs down

after a full 60 minutes charging period, a replacement

battery pack is needed.

To prevent permanent damage to the battery, never store

in a discharged condition.

WINTER STORAGE - Fully recharge before storage and

then again every 90 days.

Since the battery will not develop a memory, it does not

have to be fully discharged before recharging.

A small leakage of liquid from the battery cells may occur

under extreme usage, charging or temperature

conditions. This does not indicate a failure. However, if the

outer seal is broken and this leakage gets on your skin.

a. Wash quickly with soap and water.

b. Neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice of

vinegar.

c. If the battery liquid gets in your eyes, flush them with

clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek

immediate medical attention.

BATTERY DISPOSAL

Remove the battery pack from the shrub shear, cover the terminals with heavy duty adhesive tape. Do not

attempt to destroy or disassemble battery pack or remove any components. This product contains lithium-ion

batteries which must be recycled or disposed of properly. Local, state or federal laws may prohibit disposal of

these batteries in the municipal solid waste or rural trash pick up systems.

The RBRC seal on the Li-Ion battery pack indicates that the cost to recycle the battery pack at the end

of its useful life has already been paid by The Great States Corporation/American Lawn Mower

Company. It is illegal to place spent Li-Ion batteries in the local municipal solid waste or in the trash.

RBRC in cooperation with The Great States Corporation/American Lawn Mower Company has

provided an environmentally friendly and easy way to recycle spent Li-Ion batteries. Just contact your

local recycling center or call 1.800.8.BATTERY for information on where to drop off the spent battery.

Two (2) year limited warranty on Earthwise 20 volt outdoor power equipment and one (1) year limited warranty on

Earthwise 20 volt battery packs and chargers.

Earthwise warrants to the original owner that each new product and service part is free from defects in materials

and workmanship and agrees to repair or replace any defective product or part for the warranty period as stated above

from the original date of purchase except for the conditions and circumstances listed below:

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser at

retail and may not be transferred.

Warranty applies if the product is used for personal,

household or family use. Warranty is void if product is

used for commercial, industrial or rental purposes.

Warranty does not include repairs necessary due to

operator’s abuse or negligence (including overloading

the product beyond capacity or immersion in water), or

the failure to assemble, operate, maintain or store the

product according to the instructions in the owner’s

manual.

This warranty is not transferable

and only applies to product sold

directly from an authorized

retailer. This warranty does not apply to any

product, new or used, purchased through unauthorized

third-party channels.

ANY INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL

LOSS, DAMAGE, OR EXPENSE THAT MAY RESULT

FROM ANY DEFECT, FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION

OF THE PRODUCT IS NOT COVERED BY THE

WARRANTY. Some states do not allow the exclusion

or limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so

the above limitation may not apply to you.

Products sold damaged or incomplete, sold “as is”, or sold

as reconditioned are not covered under the warranty.

Damage or liability caused by shipping, improper handling,

improper assembly, incorrect voltage, improper wiring,

improper maintenance, improper modification or the use of

accessories and/or attachments not specifically

recommended is not covered by this warranty.

Expendable items that become worn during normal use are

not covered by the warranty.

Warranty does not cover damage caused by cold, heat,

rain, excessive humidity, corrosive environments and

materials, or other contaminants.

Warranty does not include installation, assembly or normal

adjustments explained in the owner’s manual.

The expense of delivering the product to the vendor and the

expense of returning the product or replacement parts to

the owner is not covered by the warranty.

The warranty does not cover normal deterioration of the

exterior finish, including but not limited to scratches, dents,

paint chips or any corrosion or discoloration caused by

heat, abrasive and chemical cleaners.

CARGA DE LA BATERÍA

INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES

DESEMBALAJE

Extraiga la herramienta y los accesorios de la caja con

cuidado. Asegúrese de que estén incluidos todos los

elementos detallados en la lista de embalaje.

Inspeccione el producto detenidamente para corroborar que

no existan roturas ni averías ocurridas durante el envio. No

deseche el material de embalaje hasta haber inspeccionado

exhaustivamente el producto y comprobar que funciona en

forma satisfactoria.

ADVERTENCIA: Si alguna pieza falta o está dañada, no

utilice este producto hasta reponer la pieza en cuestión. De

lo contrario, podria sufrir lesiones personales de gravedad.

MONTAJE:

Dado que el equipo se suministra como cizalla de césped, la

cuchilla de corte de césped debe cambiarse por la cuchilla de

corte de arbustos que se suministra con el producto.

¡Precaución! Realice todos los siguientes trabajos de

montaje, desmontaje y ajuste sin una batería recargable:

riesgo de lesiones.

Utilice siempre guantes de protección y coloque el protector

de la hoja antes de cambiar el mecanismo de corte.

1. Presione los botones de liberación de la cuchilla (Fig.1) en

ambos lados y retire la cuchilla al mismo tiempo. (Fig.2).

2. Deslice la carcasa de la cuchilla en el soporte de la

carcasa del equipo.

3. Presione los botones de liberación de la cuchilla en ambos

lados nuevamente (Fig.3) y presione la cuchilla en el soporte

al mismo tiempo. La unidad de transmisión del equipo ahora

está conectada a la cuchilla.

4. Empuje la batería en el soporte de batería provisto hasta

que escuche el clic del pestillo en su posición. (Fig.4)

INICIO Y DETENCIÓN

Inicio:

1. Oprima el botón de bloqueo de seguridad y el gatillo de

encendido/apagado al mismo teimpo.

2. Suelte el botón de bloqueo de seguridad.

Detención:

1. Suelto el gatillo de encendido/apagado.

2. Monte la protección de la hoja.

INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN

Este producto está pensado para podar arbustos y setos y

recortar bordes de césped en régimen de uso ligero. Tenga

en cuenta que esta herramienta no está diseñada para uso

commercial ni industrial. Úsela únicamente para los fines

especificados en estas instrucciones. Cualquier otro uso

anulará la garantía.

CHUCHILLA PARA CORTAR PASTO

Use la cuchilla para cortar pasto para recortar los bordes del

césped y las zonas pequeñas de pasto en jardines privados

y áreas de recreación.

Esta cuchilla no debe emplearse para podar arbustos ni

cortar material para elaborar composta.

Recorte de bordes

Guíe la herramienta a lo largo del borde del césped.

Cuando termine de trabajar, coloque el protector de cuchilla.

Consejos útiles:

 No fuerce la unidad al intentar cortar brotes muy tupidos,

y si las cuchillas trabajan más lentamente, reduzca la

velocidad.

 Evite podar muy cerca de la suciedad, arena o grava, ya

que esto podria desafilar las cuchillas y reducir la eficacia

del corte.

 No permita que la cuchilla entre en contacto con

superficies pavimentadas, piedras o paredes de jardin; de

lo contrario, se desgastará rápidamente.

CUCHILLA PARA PODAR ARBUSTOS

Use la cuchilla para podar arbustos para recortar y dar

forma a arbustos, matas y enredaderas en jardines

domésticos privados y como pasatiempo.

La cuchilla para podar arbustos no se debe emplear para

cortar pasto ni recortar los bordes del césped.

Poda de arbustos

 Antes de cortar, compruebe que no haya objetos

extraños, como cables, etc.

 Al usar la herramienta, manténgala alejada del cuerpo y

adopte una posición segura con el peso distribuido de

manera uniforme en ambos pies.

 Para realizar el trabajo, muévase en forma constante

por la línea de corte, de modo que los tallos se

introduzcan directamente en las cuchillas de la

cortadora.

 Cuando termine, coloque el protector de cuchilla.

MANTENIMIENTO / LIMPIEZA / ALMACENAMIENTO

MANTENIMIENTO:

PRECAUCIÓN: Las cuchillas pueden provocar

lesiones . No oprima el botón de bloqueo de

seguridad de la cortadora durante el trabajo de

mantenimiento.

Nota: Para que la herramienta brinde un servicio

confiable y duradero, realice el siguiente

mantenimiento en forma periódica:

 Revise la unidad para detectar defectos evidentes,

como cuchillas, accesorios o componentes flojos o

dañados.

 Si la herramienta deja de funcionar adecuadamente,

la reparación debe ser realizada por una persona

calificada, y siempre se deben utilizer repuestos

idénticos.

PRECAUCIÓN: Nunca limpie la cortadora con

agua (especialmente, agua corriente); ya que existen

riesgos de lesiones personales y daños a la

herramienta.

Para obtener us óptimo resultado en el corte,

asegúrese de que las cuchillas estén afiladas y

límpielas periódicamente con us paño suave y seco.

Para un mejor funcionamiento y una vida útil más

prolongada, use aceite de máquina ligero para

lubricar las cuchillas de cortar pasto y podar

arbustos, antes y después de cada uso.

Controle el estado de los bordes de corte de las

cuchillas y siempre elimine inmediatamente las

muescas y rebabas producidas por piedras, etc.

Las piezas en el interior del equipo no requieren

mantenimiento adicional.

LIMPIEZA / ALMACENAMIENTO

¡Peligro! ¡Retire la batería recargable antes de

limpiar!

 Para limpiar la herramienta, asegúrese de que la

batería esté desconectada de la unidad.

 Limpie el exterior de la herramienta a fondo con un

paño y un cepillo suave. No utilice agua, solventes

ni barnices.

 Elimine todos los desechos.

 Después de cada uso, cubra las cuchillas con los

protectores provistos.

 Recargue completamente la batería antes de

guardarla.

 Si planea almacenar la herramienta por un periodo

largo o durante todo el invierno, cargue la batería

- La bacteria no está bien colocada en el

- El cargodor no está enchufado.

- La temperature del aire en el ambiente

es muy baja o muy elevada.

- La batería no se carga. - Coloque nuevamente la batería en el cargador hasta

que aparezca una luz roja en el indicador LED.

- Enchufe el cargador en un tomacorriente que

funcione.

- Compruebe la corriente en el receptáculo; para ello,

enchufe una lámpara u otro artefacto.

- Cerciorese de que el receptáculo no este

connectado a un interruptor de luz que corta el

suministro eléctrico cuando usted apaga las luces.

- Traslade el cargador y la herramienta a un lugar con

una temperatura ambiente superior a los 4 ºC (39 ºF)

e inferior a 40 ºC (104 ºF).

SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

CARGA DEL PAQUETE DE BATERÍAS

Cuando la batería está cargada por completo, se puede

almacenar de forma segura en temperaturas de hasta –20 ºC

(-4 ºF) durante un período de quatros semanas antes de que

requiera una nueva carga. Cargue el paquete de baterías

completamente cada 90 días.

Si transcurrido un tiempo determinado, el paquete de baterías

se agota rápidamente después de un período de carga de 60

minutos, es necesario un cambio de batería.

Para prevenir un daño permanente a la batería, nunca la

almacene descargada.

ALMACENAMIENTO EN INVIERNO. Recargue la batería

completamente y repita la operación cada 90 días.

Debido a que la batería no tiene ningún efecto memoria, no es

necesario que esté totalmente descargada para volver a

cargarla.

Es posible que ocurra una pequeña pérdida de líquido de las

pilas en condiciones de uso, carga o temperaturas extremas.

Esto no indica una falla. No obstante, si el sello externo está

roto y el líquido entra en contacto con la piel:

a. Lávese con agua y jabón de inmediato.

b. Neutralice el efecto con un ácido débil como jugo de limón

o vinagre.

c. Si el líquido de la batería penetra en los ojos, enjuáguese

con agua limpia durante un mínimo de 10 minutos y

obtenga asistencia médica inmediata.

Cargue el paquete de baterías únicamente con el cargador

provisto.

Deje por lo menos 60 minutos de tiempo de carga antes del

primer uso de la motosierra.

Asegúrese de que el voltaje del suministro eléctrico sea el

doméstico normal: 120 voltios, 60 Hz, CA únicamente.

El cargador de baterías debe funcionar en temperaturas que

oscilen entre los 4 y 40 ºC (39 y 104 ºF).

La batería debe cargarse en un lugar fresco y seco.

Es posible que se necesiten de dos a tres ciclos de carga/

descarga iniciales para obtener la máxima capacidad o

tiempo de funcionamiento.

No intente abrir el cargador ni la unidad, ya que en su interior

un pico de tensión.

ELIMINACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA

Extraiga el paquete de baterías de la herramienta. Cubra los terminales con una cinta adhesiva resistente. No trate de destruir ni desarmar el

paquete de baterías ni de extraer ninguno de sus componentes. Este producto contiene baterías de litio-ion, que se deben reciclar o desechar

adecuadamente. Es posible que las leyes locales, estatales o federales prohíban eliminar estas baterías con los desechos comunes.
