Description
Earthworks P30/C isadirectional prepolari-
zed condenserHighDefinition Microphone™
with afirst-order cardioid pickup pattern
directly coupled to adedicated wideband, low
output impedance transformerless preamplifier.
The P30/C requires astandard 48V Phantom
Power supply. It features aflat frequency
response from 30Hz to 30kHz (Fig. 2), fast
impulse response(Fig. 3),very lowhandling
noise, uniformpolar pattern, and high SPL
handling capabilities. Itprovides excellent
uncolored rejection of sounds arriving off-axis.
Each microphone is delivered with its own
calibration chart providing the individually
measured frequency response curve.A
mounting clip is included with the microphone.

Applications
Earthworks P30/C is easy to operate.
Connect themicrophone to amicrophone
preamplifier supplying 48V phantom power
using astandard XLR microphone cable. Please
allow up tooneminutefor the microphoneto settle.
Plugging in the microphone “hot” (phantom
power already present atthe input) will not
damage the microphone, and is actually
preferred for faster settling.It is normalfor any
phantom powered mic to“pop” when plugged
in or powered up. Make sure to mute the signal
to speakers orheadphones when phantom
power is first applied.
The excellentperformance characteristics of
the P30/C give it avery wide range of
application possibilities. With its 4-inch flexible
neck and small microphone head, this high-
quality microphonecould be placed where other
microphones could not,such as under the
strings of anacoustic bass. The P30/Cis an
ideal choice for recording or live sound
applications using percussion, acoustic or
amplified instruments, orchoir when using
microphone stands. Itissuperior for choir
because it doesn’t spotlight; rather, it picks up
an entire section with no hot spots.
This microphone has no removable parts.

precision instrument designed and built to
provide years of excellent performance.
Following thesesimplerules will helpto protect
your investment in the P30/C:
· Avoid touching the front protective screen.
· Never attempt to disassemble the
microphone – it cannot be opened.
· Avoid extreme heatand condensing
humidity. Allow the microphone to warm up
in the case when bringing it in from the cold
weather. Roughhandling may damage the
microphone even if no visible marks are left.
· When not in use keep the P30/C in its case.
