dummy IP.
Network Configuration
You can click the to login the Network Configuration page. You
can set Network parameters including WAN, LAN, DMZ, DHCP Server, MAC Clone,
VPN settings in this page.
WAN settings:
IP Mode:select the way of getting WAN IP, there are three ways:
Static: Users need to set IPAddress, Subnet Mask, Gateway IP and DNS.
Dhcp: GIP300/GIP300P will auto-config the WAN parameter with immediate effect.

15
PPPoe: Users can enable GIP300/GIP300P to connect to Internet by ADSL.
1. Static IP settings:
(1) Set “Static” in the “IP Mode” text.
(2) Set IP address, the IP address is the one of the local area network.
(3) Set Subnet Mask, it is usually “255.255.255.0” for the local area network.
(4) Set Gateway, you can get it from your Administrator.
(5) Set DNS, you can get it from your Administrator.
2. DHCP settings:
(1) Set “DHCP” in the “IP Mode” text.
(2) You should set “manual” in the “DNS Mode” if you set “DNS” by yourself. And
then fill the DNS in the two following texts. Generally speaking, you can set
“Automatic” in the “DNS Mode” and GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone will get “DNS”
from DHCP Server automatically.

16
Generally speaking, you should select a kind of IP Mode from the two IP Modes
if you use GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone in the local area network..
You can select the “Static” IP Mode if you are familiar with the Network
Configuration and you can fill all the parameters in the texts by yourself.

You can select the “PPPoE” IP Mode if you are family users or your PC connects to
Internet by ADSL. You should connect your PC with GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s
LAN. In detail, you can see the following LAN settings.
LAN settings:

17
1. Device Mode
The way of Data packages from LAN Port to WAN Port.
There are three ways for Retransmits Mode: NAT, Bridge and disable.
NAT Mode: retransmit by NAT
Bridge Mode: retransmit by SWITCH.
Disable: not retransmit.
2. LAN IP and LAN Subnet Mask
It is efficient if you select “NAT” for Retransmits Mode. You should set LAN IP
and LAN Subnet Mask, generally specking, you can use the default values.
You should select “NAT” or “Bridge” Mode if you connect your PC with
GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s LAN.
It is suggested that you should use “NAT” Mode. Your PC’s Gateway IP
address is the same to GIP300/GIP300PIP Phone’s LAN IP address and your
PC’s IP address is the same to the network segment of GIP300/GIP300P IP
Phone’s LAN. (As the above page, your PC’s IP address should set
192.168.1.xxx), now your PC can connect to Internet. Probably, you can also
use DHCP Server expediently. You can see the DHCP Server introductions in
the following chapter.
DMZ settings:
DMZ is a kind of Network function. You can set it if you are familiar with
Network and need to use it, otherwise you can set “Enable DMZ” disable namely.

18
DMZ introductions:
GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone will forbid the outside requests if you enable the NAT.
However, sometimes it is needed to access the PC which is linked with
GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s LAN to use the PC’s service. Now, you should use the
GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s DMZ to realize it. Here, DMZ is the same with mapping
ports for network equipment.
Your PC which is linked with GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s LAN can get the
requests from the LAN by some ports of GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s WAN
retransmits. (Your PC is DMZ computer for short as followings.)
For example, the DMZ computer’s IP is “192.168.1.2”, “DMZ start port” and
“DMZ end port” are 20 and 1023. The DMZ function is that DMZ computer can get
the requests from the ports(20 to 1023) of GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s WAN.
You must enable “NAT” and DMZ function is efficient.
Note: The use of ports for DMZ is preferential to the use of ports for
GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone. Namely. GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s some
functions will probably be disturbed if the DMZ computer’s ports include the
ports that GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone uses.
DHCP Server settings:
DHCP Server is another kind of Network function. GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone can
supply DHCP service for the network which is linked with GIP300/GIP300P IP
Phone’s LAN if you enable the DHCP Server of GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s LAN
(Default setting is enable.)
1. Enable DHCP Server
You can use DHCP Server if you enable it.
2. DHCP Start Address
DHCP Server Start Address.
The Network Sect of DHCP Server Start Address should be the same with the one
that GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s LAN. Generally speaking, you can use the default
setting.
3. DHCP End Address

19
DHCP Server End Address
The Network Sect of DHCP Server End Address should be the same with the one
that GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s LAN. Generally speaking, you can use the default
setting.
4. Primary DNS
Primary DNS that DHCP Server will distribute. You can use the default setting.
5. Secondary DNS
Secondary DNS that DHCP Server will distribute. You can use the default setting.
6. Lease Time
DHCP Server Leave Time.
DHCP will send request to continue in period of validity. Unit is hour. You can use
the default setting.
You can use the default settings if you do not know the settings of DHCP
Server well. You only need to enable the DHCP Server.
After enabling the DHCP Server, your PC can link to Internet if you link your
PC to GIP300/GIP300PIP Phone’s LAN and set your PC get IPautomatically.
The process of setting your PC get IPautomatically as followings:
Click the “begin”Æselect “control panel”, double click “network connections” in
the “control panel”, and then click (right key) the “network connection” that your PC
uses, select “attribute” and you can see the interface as followings:

20
Select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”, click “attribute” button, and you can see the
interface as followings and you should click the “Get IP address automatically”. That
is all.
MAC Clone settings:
Use MAC Clone as followings:
1. You can see your PC’s MAC address in the “Current PC MAC Address” text.
2. It will copy “Current PC MAC Address” to “Cloned MAC Address” text if you
click “Clone address” button.
3. Click the “save” button and reboot GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone, you can see the
GIP300/GIP300P IP Phone’s WAN MAC change to the IP of “Cloned MAC Address”
text.
4. Click “Cancel clone” button if you want to cancel the MAC Clone. You should
save and reboot, and then it will be effective.
