2. Use
The use of the equipment is exclusively allowed for cleaning
the receiver and
microphone of hearing aids.

4. Startup/Main Switch
Plug the delivered power cord on the back side and set the main switch
(back side) on „on“.
The main switch is placed on the back side together with the fuse 5 A
(delay-action). As soon as the same is switched on, the orange coloured
light-emitting diode on the front panel in the middle of the equipment will
flash. Insert the blue and red hose at the front of the device.

5. Delivery/Transport Regulations/Installation Instructions
The ecco cleaner will be delivered in the 230 V and 50 Hz version.
The ambient temperature should be – 5° up to + 40°C max. Please use
the ecco cleaner indoor only. The incorporated electrical parts must be
protected against direct wetness. Please make sure that the ecco
cleaner is installed in a suitably ventilated place.
Delivery includes: ecco cleaner, red and blue hose, drying cup, cleaning
attachments, black needle holder for 10 needles and the cleaning fluid,
ecco clean cleaning solution (Caution when using for the first time.
Once open lid carefully, because of eventual excess pressure in the
cylinder), power cord and instruction manual.
6. Cleaning of Receiver and Microphone of the Hearing Aids
Before cleaning and drying the hearing aids we recommend removing
the filter systems and supporting hooks.
In order to use the vacuum hose, the hoses must be introduced in the
corresponding hole (red sucking, blue air). Choose the corresponding
attachment out of the delivered attachments which best fits the
microphone, resp. receiver aperture and connect this attachment with
the red hose. You will find the attachments below the cover at the left
upper side of the equipment.
Switch on equipment.
Press the switch placed on the left hand side downwards on „SAUGEN“
(SUCKING). The chosen function will be shown by the light emitting
diode (green).Press the switch placed on the right hand side downwards
on „DAUER“ (PERMANENTLY). The yellow light emitting diode will burn:

Slowly move the attachment about 5 to 6 times in both directions and
drain the apertures. In case of heavy debris it might be helpful to clean
the receiver by applying the ecco-cleaner detergent (included in the
shipment and can be reordered). Leave it for some minutes and clean
the receiver again by means of the red vacuum hose.
Switch off the equipment after use by means of the right hand switch
(switch position „0“).
The blue hose is intended to drain the support hooks and sound
transmission tubes. This will work as soon as the switch is set on
„SAUGEN (sucking) and turned on.
7. Drying of Hearing Aids
Put the hearing aid (max. 2 hearing aids) on the rubber pad and put the
drying cup on top. Suggestion: Prior to that, remove the support hook
and /or all filter systems. The hearing aid should not be placed directly
above the vacuum aperture, in order to ensure the build-up of an
optimum vacuum. Set the switch at the left hand side upwards on
„TROCKNEN“(Drying). The chosen function will be shown by the light
emitting diode (green). In order to make use of the time switch and
vacuum chamber it is recommended to set the right hand switch
upwards on „ZEIT 5 min.“ (TIME 5 min.) and to confirm it by means of
the red start button. Please pay attention: Please press the drying
cup strongly on the rubber plate, so that the pressure can be build
up. The barometer should read between –0,7 and – 0,8 bar. The
equipment will be switched on for about 5 minutes and will then
automatically be switched off. The remaining time is shown by the digital

display in the middle. In case you wish to stop the drying process before,
you may set the switch on the right hand side on „0“. If necessary, you
may restart the drying process.
8. Care and Cleaning of the ecco cleaner
It is recommendable to clean the filter of the vacuum pump every day
(but at least once a week). The same is located below the cover on the
left hand side of the equipment. For this purpose you will have to open
the cover and unscrew the transparent lid (with blue cap), screw off the
black cap above the filter and remove the filter for cleaning resp.
replacing. Replace the filter by a new one at least once a month (the
same can be supplied by us). The support of the filter is preferably
cleaned by means of a vacuum cleaner. Please make sure that the filter
is firmly attached and that the black and the transparent lid are properly
tightened. This can be checked by starting the equipment and closing
the red hose with your finger. The barometer should read between –0,7
and – 0,8 bar. Otherwise it is recommended to tighten the filter lid once
more.
Every now and then it can occur that the cleaning attachments are
soiled. In this case the barometer rises up to the scale limit and does not
move any longer. If so, you will have to put the cleaning attachments on
to the blue air hose for cleaning them. If this will not help we recommend
to dip the cleaning attachments into an ultrasonic bath for cleaning.
In the event of a faulty sucking function, it is recommended to check the
filter. It is supposed to be soiled.

9. Maintenance
The equipment is maintenance-free. However it is recommendable to
have it checked once a year by an electrical expert as per VDE 0701-1
and to clean it in regular intervals.
10. General Information
The particular characteristic features of cleaning are achieved by a
control technology specifically developed for this purpose.
No function of the orange-coloured power light emitting diode on the
front side of the equipment -→Check electric supply. If necessary the
equipment fuse „microfuse 5 x 20 mm 5 A delay action“ can be
exchanged by opening the cover near the on-off switch (rear panel of the
equipment.
11. Accessories/Spare Parts
You will find all the accessories and spare parts in our price list (cleaning
attachments, spare hoses (blue and red), spare filters and ecco clean
cleaning solution).

12. EC Declaration of Conformity

In the version launched by us, the conceptual design of the machine is in
accordance with the requirements of the following directives:
EC low voltage standards 73/23/EWG amended by 93/68/EEC.
EC directive of electromagnetic compatibility 96/336/EEC
Applied standards: EN 55011, EN 61000 6-2, EN 61000 3-2,
EN 61000 3-3
In the event of illegitimate modifications, improper repairs or changes
which are not explicitly permitted by the manufacturer, this declaration
will lose its validity.
13. Gurantee
The guarantee period for the ecco cleaner is one year including any
components (except willful damage, wear parts, disregards of the
operating instruction). This guarantee will expire as soon as the
equipment is opened by unauthorized persons.
Condition precedent for this guarantee is the use in accordance with its
purpose.
