INTRODUCTION
This service manual contains information
for service and maintenance of ECHO RE-
CHARGEABLE POWER BLOWER, model
DPB-600.
For systematic diagnosis, to avoid extra work
and time loss, please refer to “Troubleshooting
chart” that describes problems, testing, reme-
dies and references. We recommend you make
use of Operator’s Manual and Parts Catalogue
together with this manual when servicing.
We are constantly working on technical improve-

data, equipment and design are subject to

1. Remove torx bolts (B) and disassemble the
handle lid (A).

2. Remove the throttle trigger (C).
3. If control board (D) and switch (E) are damaged,
remove and replace the lead terminal (F) and (G)
with new one.
4. Remove terminal(F) and (G) from switch(E) and
assembly control board (D).
5. If throttle lever (N) is damaged, remove torx bolt
(H), spring washer (J), washer (K), (L) locknut (M)
and throttle lever (N). Replace damaged parts with
new one.

2-3 Resassembling trigger switch grip
1. Install throttle lever (N) on handle lid (A) and
fasten with the torx bolt (H). Check throttle lever (N)
works smoothly and set to the position as shown
(Fig. P : STOP position).
2. The terminal has no locking Tabs on connectors.
Gently push until connector is fully seated on con-
trol board assy (D) and switch (E).
3. Install switch (E), wire harness (t) and control
board (D) on fan case as shown.

4. When installing lead (v) and wire harness (t),
make sure they are installed into the groove part.
5. When installing control board assy (D), attach
control board so that its claw part comes to the left
side as the left figure.
6. Fix throttle trigger (C) on handle. When fixing
it, hook the claw part of the throttle trigger (c) with
handle as shown.
7. Install throttle trigger (C) so as not to be
contacted with wire harness (t). Fit harness (t) into
the groove firmly.
8. Insert the rear end of handle lid (A) into the
motor cover, and fasten torx bolt (V).
9. Align the claw of handle grip with the groove of
handle lid (A), and fasten by torx bolt (B).

3-2 Disassembling motor case
Replace the circuit board in the motor case as the
following procedure.
1. Remove torx bolts (A) and motor case (B).
2. Remove terminals (C), (D), (E), (F) from control
board assy (a).
3. After pull out control board assy (a), remove the
all connected terminals, and remove control board
assy (a) and lead terminal (G), (H).
4. Check the followings, and replace with the new
one in case it has a defect.
1) Breakage of control board assy (a) and
connected other terminals.
2) Breakage or burning of control board assy (a).
3) Disconnection of lead wire breakage of the ter-
minals (G), (H).

3-3 Reassembling motor case
1. Assemble control board assy to the fan case as
shown and connect couplers of the lead terminal
(C), (D) of the handle lid side each other.
2. Connect assembly motor side coupler (E), (F).
Note: Assemble so that motor's lead wire goes
through the upper part, and lead terminal's lead
wire goes through the bottom as shown. Install
each lead wires without sticking out to the outside
of a case lib (b).
3. Connect couplers of a thick lead wire (G) and (H).
4. Assemble thick lead wire (K), (L) and a
couplers(G), (H) to a motor case as shown.
Note: Assemble the lead wire to the groove of the
motor case surely. Install the connection coupler
so that claw part turns outward (g), (h).
5. Fasten motor cover (B) by torx bolts (A).

4-2 Disassembling fan case
1. Remove torx bolts (A) and blower grid (B).
2. Remove torx bolts (C) from fan case.
3. Remove torx bolt (E) and rear handle (D).
4. Disassemble fan case (F), (G) and remove lead
terminal (H) and lever piece (J).

1. Remove nut (K) while holding it by hand so
that a blower fan does not turn around (left-hand
thread).
Note : By holding the fan with left hand and
pressing the fan by right thumb with holding a
wrench, power is easily increased to fingers so as
to loosen the nut.
2. After removed nut, tap the shaft of the rotor with
a plastic hammer lightly and remove blower fan (L).
3. Remove torx bolts (M).
4. Remove motor assembly (N).

4-3 Disassembling motor
When rotation malfunction, abnormal noise and
looseness, since these may be caused by bearing
damage or corrosion of stator part, replace it by
the following procedures.
1. Remove torx bolt (O) and motor case lid (N).
2. Remove rotor assy (P) from motor case lid (N)
in the direction of the arrow.
3. Tap lightly a flange part of the screw aperture (r)
with the plastic hammer (T). And hold stator assy
(S) by hand and remove it from motor case (R) by
shaking it in right and left.

4-4 Reassembling motor (Service hint)
1. When installing stator assy, place the motor
case on the flat place with making the bottom
section upward, and push it in the arrow direction
by tapping lightly with plastic hammer.
Note : Attach the projection part (A) and (B) of
stator assy so that these match the notch part of
the motor case as shown.
(A) : Wide
(B) : Narrow
2. Attach rotor assy (P) straightly to motion case lid
(N) without tilting it.

4-5 Reassembling fan case (Service hint)
1. Attach motor assy (A) to blower fan (B) so that
the flat part of rotor shaft of the motor assy fits to
the rotor shaft hole of the blower fan.
Note : Take care to install washer (C).
2. Install lever piece (D) as shown.

Battery Charger
When there is abnormality or run out, replace the defective units as required.
The battery comes to have little charge capacity by repeating charge.
By 500 times of charge, charge capacity falls to about 60%, but this is not trouble normally.

Do not dismantle battery and the battery charger.
If dismantle, there is the risk of ignition or explosion and I may lead to
the death or injury.

5-4 Battery disposal procedure
Battery contains lithium.
Dispose of only at a designated collection point.
Lithium-ion batteries must be recycled or disposed
of properly.

Charging completed. Remove battery pack from charger.
A fully discharged battery will charge in about 72 minuites.
Charger cannot detect battery. Remove battery pack and
clean contacts or terminals. Reinstall battery pack.
Battery pack is above or below normal temperature range.
When battery cools down or warms up, charger will automatically
begin charging
LED indicator will be on or will flash when battery is attached on charger.
