This manual has been translated from the original Finnish manual.
This manual contains information for the user of the hot water weed controlling machine Eco
Weedkiller, model Garden. There are two options available: 3 kW and 2 kW version, depending on
the country (rated current 16 A or 10 A).
In the following pages we intend to give clear instructions on how to operate and maintain the
product correctly and safely. Read this manual before using the product.
Do not modify the product without consulting the manufacturer or the dealer first! Any
unapproved changes may lead to unsafe situations and to expiration of warranty.
Product information and safety devices
Product information
Eco Weedkiller Garden is designed to be used as hot water weed controlling device.
The weed controlling is accomplished with the hot water generated by the device. Hot water is
generated by electrical heating element inside the device. Usual applications are gardens, stone
paving’s, terraces, and other places where weed controlling is required. The device is designed for
outdoor use only.
Safety devices
The device has been equipped with different safety devices, which improve safety. Do not adjust,
alter or remove any of them.
Safety valve: prevents the pressure from increasing over the adjusted limit
Thermostat: prevents the water and heating element from over heating
Pressure lock: prevents the safety cap to be opened when pressure tank is under pressure
Cover and protection sleeve: prevent direct contact with hot surfaces

Operation
Safety statements
Before working with the product, please read the following safety statements carefully:
DANGER! The device produces boiling hot water. If splashed on, the boiling water will cause
serious burns. Follow the instructions in this manual to ensure safe operation of the
device!
DANGER! Do not remove any safety guards when working with the machine or when power is
on! This may lead into an electrical shock!
DANGER! Do not make any changes is wiring of the product! This may lead into an electrical
shock! Always use the help of professionals when doing maintenance on electrical
components!
DANGER! Do not work with faulty product! If some problems occur, contact the dealer for
technical support!
WARNING! Always read this manual before working with the machine! Make sure the person
using this product has read this manual and understands it. If uncertain, contact the
dealer for technical support.
WARNIGN! Never open or attempt to open the cap when the device is hot or warming up!
WARNING! Out coming water is hot, risk of serious burns! Do not point water stream into people,
animals, electrical equipment or the product itself.

WARNING! Always completely fill the device with water before heating it. If the device is heated
without water or with too little water, it will overheat and be damaged. Fire hazard!
LOOK OUT! If the safety cap is not tightened properly, or it is misaligned, there may be some
steam coming from under the cap when device is heating / hot. Tighten the cap until
steam is no longer leaking.
LOOK OUT! If the pressure inside the device increases too much, the excess pressure is released
through the safety valve. During that there might be some steam coming out under
the machine and a loud rustle noise be heard. This is completely normal function of
that safety valve.
LOOK OUT! The use of gloves is recommended.
NOTE! Do not use sea water or salted water! Always prefer clean or filtered water. The use of
surface or collected water is allowed but filtering is recommended.
NOTE! Do not add any chemicals or substances into the tank!
NOTE! Do not re-heat the water before the tank is filled again.
NOTE! The device is heavy, follow extreme caution when moving with the device.
NOTE! If the use of extension cord is required for powering the product, make sure it is suitable
for rated current (16 A or 10 A, check products CE-sticker and chapter 9. Technical data). If
uncertain, contact the dealer for technical support.
Step by step operation instructions
To operate the device, follow these step-by-step instructions below. See also the quick start
instruction sticker.
STEP 1: Open the safety cap and add water until the tank is completely full. Use clean/filtered
water. Do not use sea water! Tank is full when the water level is clearly seen from the
filling neck. If tank is overfilled, excess water will leak out of the pressure lock and the
filling neck (picture A, no. 9).
STEP 2: Insert and tighten the safety cap. Make sure that one of the alignment slots are
aligned like in picture A, no. 8. One of the slots should be pointed directly downwards.
STEP 3: Insert power plug to socket. Heating will automatically start. Red light indicates that
heating is on, green indicates that the power plug is inserted, and power is on. If the
use of extension cord is required to power the product, make sure it is suitable for
rated current (see chapter 9. Technical data).
If steam is leaking under the safety cap when the device is heating, slightly tighten the
cap. If this doesn’t help, remove power plug from socket and wait until the device is
cooled down. Then tighten the cap and repeat step 3 and continue to steps 4 and 5.
WARNING! Never open or attempt to open the cap when the device is hot or
warming up!

STEPS 4 & 5: Device is ready to operate when red light goes off. When that happens, disconnect
the power plug from the socket and coil the cord so that it’s not in a way when
moving or working with the device. Never do weed controlling when the power plug
is inserted. This may damage the heating element! Always disconnect the power
plug before going to work! The device will automatically keep the water at boiling
temperature when heated for long periods of time. Heating will automatically go on
and off if required.
STEP 6: Transfer the device to area where weed controlling needs to be done. Take out the
treatment lance and point the head into weeds. Press the trigger gun and the water
will flow out of the lance.
Water temperature
Out coming water will sizzle and steam. That is normal when the water is at boiling point. If the
water is not steaming or sizzling, that means the water is too cold to be used at weed controlling.
Re-fill the device before re-heating it.
Re-filling the device
Before the device can be re-filled, the device must be allowed to release the pressure inside the
tank.
The safety cap is designed to be locked when there is pressure inside the device. Do not try to force
the cap open when the device is hot! When the device cools down, the pressure decreases, and the
safety lock will open unlocking the safety cap. Then the device can be re-filled.
When the tank is empty, follow the instructions above to start working again.
Decalcification
To ensure long-term functionality, you should decalcify the device 1-4 times a year depending on
how much the device is used. To decalcify, fill the tank with water, add antiliming agent as instructed
and let it sit for about one hour. Then empty the tank and rinse it with clean water.
As limescale builds up in the appliance, the pressure lock function may be impaired. Check that the
pressure lock moves freely and returns to the down position when the appliance is cold.
NOTE! Do not heat the device with the antiliming agent!

Storage and maintenance
Storage the device protected from rain in a dry place, preferably under shelter or a storage unit. For
long time storage, for example wintertime storage, empty the tank. Cover may be cleaned using a
moist cloth.
It is recommended to use the genuine Eco Weedkiller spare parts, which can be purchased from
your local re-seller. See chapter 10. Technical support and spare parts. When doing maintenance on
electrical components, always use the help of professionals!
Troubleshooting
DANGER! Risk of electrical shock! Power plug must be disconnected before any work on the device.

Heating doesn’t work, water doesn’t get hot
Make sure there is enough water
Make sure the power plug is connecter into socket
Make sure that the socket works and gives power
Make sure the power chord is not damaged
Water flow decreases / No water coming out
Make sure the water inside the tank is hot
A lot of steam is coming under / between the safety cap
Tighten the cap and make sure the alignment slot is according to chapter 4, no. 9.
Check the condition of sealing ring from safety cap. Replace if needed.
If steam is still leaking, contact the dealer for technical support.
WARNING! Never open or attempt to open the cap when the device is hot or warming
up!
Conservation of the environment
The packaging materials are recyclable. Make sure to recycle them accordingly.
Used device contains precious recyclable materials, which are to be recycled accordingly.
Dispose old device ecologically.

Warranty Policy
If your device has defects related to materials, installation, or manufacturing, they will be repaired
based on our warranty by, at our discretion, either repairing the device at our expense or by
replacing the faulty device with a new one. Wear and tear due to normal use is not covered by our
warranty.
The warrantor is not responsible for defects that, in their deviation from normal quality or
serviceability, are proven likely to be the result of buyer’s actions. These reasons can include, for
example, an accident or misuse of goods and failure to comply with the seller-provided instructions
for use or maintenance.
In warranty-related issues, please contact your Eco Weedkiller reseller or Eco Weedkiller place of
purchase. The warranty is valid only for purchases for which there is a receipt with the following
information: seller name and address, device type, and date of purchase.
The Eco Weedkiller warranty is valid for new devices sold to European consumers, and it is
compliant with Finnish legislation. The warrantor is EWK Finland Oy, Venakontie 4, 74130 Iisalmi,
Finland.
Warranty is valid for two (2) years (*) starting from date of purchase. Warranty will be void in case
a device that is intended for consumer use is taken into professional use or it has been purchased
by a company.
In case the device you have purchased is faulty, you have, based on the contract of sale, full legal
rights to make claims towards the seller. The warranty issued by Eco Weedkiller does not limit these
rights in any way.
(*) If the device is in professional or comparable use, the warranty is valid for one (1) year starting
from date of purchase.

Tämä ohjekirja on tarkoitettu oppaaksi ECO WEEDKILLER GARDEN tuotteen käyttäjälle. Lue tämä
ohjekirja huolellisesti ennen laitteen käyttöönottoa ja noudata sen ohjeita.
Laitteeseen tehdyt muutokset, joita ei ole hyväksytetty laitevalmistajan toimesta, voivat
johtaa takuun raukeamiseen. EWK Finland Oy ei korvaa mahdollisia vaurioita ihmisiin,
koneisiin tai esineisiin, jotka johtuvat koneen väärinkäytöstä.
Tuoteselostus ja turvallisuusvarusteet
Tuoteselostus
ECO WEEDKILLER GARDEN on suunniteltu käytettäväksi rikkakasvien torjuntalaitteena
kotitalouksissa.
Rikkakasvien torjunta tapahtuu laitteen tuottaman kuuman veden avulla. Käyttökohteita ovat
mm. kivetysten ja terassien reunukset ja muut ulkoalueet, joissa rikkakasvien torjunta on
tarpeellista. Laite on suunniteltu vain ulkokäyttöön.
Turvalaitteet
Laite on varusteltu erilaisilla turvalaitteilla. Ne on tarkoitettu käyttäjän ja muiden suojaksi, eikä
niitä saa säätää tai poistaa, eikä niiden toimintoa ohittaa.
Varoventtiili: estää sallitun käyttöpaineen ylittymisen
Termostaatti: estää veden ja lämmitysvastuksen ylikuumenemisen
Painelukko: estää korkin avaamisen säiliön ollessa paineistettuna
Suojakuoret ja suojaletku: estää välittömän pääsyn kuumiin pintoihin, toimii
lämpösuojana

Käyttö
Turvalausekkeet
Ennen työskentelyä laitteen kanssa, lue seuraavat turvalausekkeet huolella:
VAARA! Laite tuottaa kiehuvan kuumaa vettä. Päälle roiskuessaan kiehuva vesi aiheuttaa
vakavia palovammoja! Noudata tämän ohjekirjan ohjeistusta, jotta laitteella
työskentely on tuvallista!
VAARA! Älä poistaa suojakuoria laitteen työskennellä tai kun virta on kytketty! Tämä voi
johtaa sähköiskuun!
VAARA! Älä tee mitään muutoksia laitteen johdotuksiin! Tämä voi johtaa sähköiskuun!
Käytä aina ammattilaista apuna, kun tehdään huoltoa/korjausta
sähkökomponentteihin!
VAARA! Älä työskentele viallisella laitteella! Jos ongelmia ilmenee, ota yhteys
jälleenmyyjään teknisen tuen saamiseksi.
VAROITUS! Lue tämä käyttöohje ennen kuin työskentelet laitteella! Varmista, että laitetta
käyttävä henkilö on lukenut tämän käyttöohjeen ja ymmärtänyt sen. Epäselvissä

VAROITUS! Suutinputkesta ulostuleva vesi on kiehuvan kuumaa, +100°C, palovaara! Älä
kohdista vesisuihkua ihmisiin, eläimiin, jännitteellisiin sähkövarusteisiin tai itse
laitteeseen.

VAROITUS! Laite tulee täyttää aina täyteen vedellä ennen kuumentamista. Mikäli laitetta
kuumennetaan ilman vettä tai liian vähäisellä vesimäärällä, laite ylikuumenee ja
vioittuu. Palovaara!
VARO! Mikäli täyttökorkkia ei kiristetä tarpeeksi tiukalle, tai korkki on väärin asennettu,
saattaa korkin välistä nousta höyryä laitteen ollessa lämmityksessä / kuuma. Kiristä
korkkia kunnes höyryn tuleminen lakkaa.
VARO! Mikäli laitteen sisäinen paine kasvaa lämmitysvaiheessa liian suureksi, vapautuu
ylipaine varoventtiilin läpi. Tällöin laitteen suojakuorien välistä saattaa nousta
höyryä ja kuulua hetkellinen voimakas suhahdus. Tämä on täysin normaalia
varolaitteen toimintaa.
VARO! Työhanskojen käyttö on suositeltua laitteella työskenneltäessä.
HUOMIO! Älä käytä merivettä tai suolaista vettä! Puhtaan/suodatetun veden käyttö on
suositeltua.
Pintavesien ja kerätyn veden käyttö on mahdollista, mutta suodatusta suositellaan.
HUOMIO! Älä lisää tankkiin mitään kemikaaleja, pois lukien kalkinpoistoaine. Noudata
kalkinpoistoaineen käyttöohjeita.
HUOMIO! Älä lämmitä laitetta uudelleen ennen kuin se on täytetty täyteen asti vedellä.
HUOMIO! Laite on painava, noudata varovaisuutta laitteen kanssa liikkuessa.
HUOMIO! Mikäli jatkojohdon käyttöä tarvitaan laitteen lämmittämiseksi, varmista, että se on
vastaa vaadittuja virta-arvoja (16 A tai 10 A, katso laitteen CE-tarra ja kappale 9.
Tekniset tiedot).
Epäselvissä tilanteissa, ota yhteys jälleenmyyjään teknisen tuen saamiseksi.
Käyttöohjeistus vaihe vaiheelta
Käyttääksesi laitetta suorita seuraavat toimenpiteet:
Vaihe 1: Avaa täyttökorkki ja lisää vettä, kunnes säiliö on täynnä. Säiliö on täysi, kun
vedenpinta on selkeästi nähtävillä täyttöaukon suuaukossa. Käytä laitteessa
puhdasta vettä tai suodatettua vettä. Mikäli tankki täytetään ylitäyteen,
ylimääräinen vesi valuu painelukon ja täyttökaulan kautta pois (kuvaA, numero 9).
Vaihe 2: Kierrä täyttökorkki paikoilleen ja kiristä. Varmista, että kohdistuslovi on kuvan A,
numero 8 mukaisesti. Jonkun kohdistusloven tulisi osoittaa suoraan alaspäin.

Vaihe 3: Liitä virtapistoke pistorasiaan, jolloin lämmitys käynnistyy automaattisesti.
Punainen merkkivalo kertoo lämmityksen olevan päällä ja vihreä merkkivalo kertoo
virtapistokkeen olevan kytkettynä. Jos jatkojohdon käyttöä tarvitaan, varmista, että
se täyttää vaaditut virta-arvot (katso kappale 9. Tekniset tiedot).
Mikäli korkin välistä vuotaa höyryä, kiristä korkkia hieman. Jos tämä ei auta, irrota
virtajohto seinästä ja anna laitteen jäähtyä. Tämän jälkeen kiristä korkkia ja toista
vaihe 3 ja jatka vaiheisiin 4 & 5.
VAROITUS! ÄLÄ KOSKAAN YRITÄ AVATA KORKKIA LAITTEEN OLLESSA KUUMA TAI
LÄMPENEMÄSSÄ!
Vaihe 4 & 5: Laite on valmis, kun punainen merkkivalo sammuu. Valon sammuttua, irrota
virtapistoke ja syötä virtajohtoon sille tarkoitetusta kolosta tai kierrätä virtajohto
siten, ettei se haittaa laitteen kanssa etenemistä. Älä koskaan työskentele
laitteella virtajohdon ollessa kytkettynä! Tämä voi vahingoittaa
lämmitysvastusta. Irrota virtajohto aina ennen laitteella työskentelyä!
Laite ylläpitää veden lämpötilaa +100-asteisena, mikäli laitetta lämmitetään pitkiä
aikoja. Tällöin lämmitys menee automaattisesti päälle ja pois tarpeen vaatiessa.
Vaihe 6: Siirrä laite alueelle, jossa rikkakasvien torjuntaa halutaan tehdä. Ota käsittelyvarsi
telineestään ja suuntaa sen suutinpää lähelle rikkakasveja. Paina käsittelypistoolin
liipaisimesta, jolloin vesi alkaa virrata käsittelyvarren läpi.
Veden lämpötila
Ulostuleva vesi saattaa höyrytä ja suhista voimakkaasti. Tämä on täysin normaalia veden ollessa
lähellä kiehumispistettä. Mikäli veden höyryäminen lakkaa ja suhina loppuu, vesi on liian kylmää
onnistuneen torjunnan suorittamiseksi. Odota, kunnes laite on kokonaan jäähtynyt ennen kuin
lisäät vettä ja suoritat uudelleen lämmittämisen edellä mainittujen ohjeiden mukaisesti.
Uudelleen täyttö
Ennen kuin laite voidaan täyttää vedellä uudelleen, on säiliössä olevan paineen annettava
vapautua.
Turvalukko on suunniteltu olemaan lukittuna, kun säiliön sisällä on paine. Älä yritä väkisin avata
turvalukkoa laitteen ollessa kuuma! Kun laite jäähtyy, paine laskee ja lopulta paineen laskettua
tarpeeksi korkki on mahdollista avata. Tällöin laitteen voi täyttää uudelleen.
Kun vesi loppuu, noudata edellä mainittuja ohjeita uudelleen täyttämisen ja lämmityksen
suorittamiseksi.

Pitkäaikaisen toiminnan takaamiseksi laitteeseen tulee suorittaa kalkinpoisto 1–4 kertaa
vuodessa riippuen laitteen käyttömäärästä. Kalkinpoistoa varten täytä säiliö vedellä, lisää
kalkinpoistoainetta annosteluohjeen mukaisesti ja anna vaikuttaa noin tunti. Tämän jälkeen
tyhjennä säiliö ja huuhtele puhtaalla vedellä.
Kalkin kertyessä laitteeseen painelukon toimita saattaa heikentyä. Tarkista, että painelukko
liikkuu vapaasti ja se palautuu ala-asentoon laitteen ollessa kylmä.
HUOMIO! Älä kuumenna laitetta kalkinpoistoaineen kanssa!
Laitteen säilytys ja hoito
Säilytä laitetta mielellään sateelta suojattuna katoksessa, varastossa tai muussa suojaisessa
paikassa. Pidempiaikaista, esimerkiksi talvivarastointia varten tyhjennä vesisäiliö ja letku vedestä
pitämällä käsittelyvarren liipaisinta pohjassa, kunnes vedentulo lakkaa. Suojakuoria voi puhdistaa
käyttämällä kosteaa liinaa.
On suositeltua käyttää alkuperäisiä Eco Weedkiller varaosia, joita voi ostaa jälleenmyyjäsi kautta.
Katso kappale 10. teknistä tukea ja varaosia varten. Kun tehdään korjauksia/huoltoa sähköosille,
käytä aina ammattilaisen apua!
Häiriöapu
VAARA! Sähköiskun vaara! Virtapistoke on vedettävä pistorasiasta aina ennen kaikkia laitteeseen
kohdistuvia töitä. Käytä aina ammattilaista, kun tehdään huoltoa/korjauksia sähköosiin!
Lämmitys ei toimi, vesi ei lämpiä
Varmista, että laitteessa on riittävästi vettä
Varmista, että virtajohto on kytkettynä pistorasiaan
Varmista, että pistorasiaan tulee virta
Varmista, ettei virtajohto ole vioittunut.
Vedentulo heikkenee käsiteltäessä
Varmista, että laitteessa on kuumaa vettä sisällä
Laite höyryää voimakkaasti korkin välistä
Kiristä korkkia ja varmista, että korkin kohdistuslovi on kappaleen 4, numero 9
mukaisesti.
Tarkista korkin tiivisteen kunto. Vaihda tarvittaessa uuteen.
Mikäli höyryäminen ei vähene / lopu kokonaan, ota yhteys tekniseen tukeen.
