The unit is a photoelectric 3V DC smoke alarm. It is operated by 3v AA Alkaline
battery. With the photoelectric technology, it is more sensitive to detecting slow
smolder fires which general thick, black smoke, little heat and may smolder for
hours before bursting into flames. The smoke alarm do not contain the
radioactive material which is harmless to the environment.
The smoke alarm should be installed in every room (except the bathroom), and
every other area of the home, making sure the people in the home will be able
to hear and respond to the alarm sound. For minimum protection you should fit
an alarm in the hallway between the living areas and sleeping areas. Place the
unit near to the living areas as possible and ensure the alarm is audible when
the bedrooms are occupied.
Typical single storey dwelling with recommended:
Install a smoke alarm on the ceiling inside each bedroom and in the hallway
outside each separate sleeping area. If a bedroom area hallway is more than 30
feet long, install a smoke alarm at each end. If there is a basement: install a
smoke alarm on the basement ceiling at the bottom of the stairwell.
Typical multi-storey dwelling with recommended protection.
Install a smoke alarm on the ceiling inside each bedroom and in the hallway
outside each separate sleeping area. If a bedroom area hallway is more than 30
feet long, install a smoke alarm at each end install a smoke alarm at the top of a
first – to- second floor stairwell.

How To Connect With Your Wifi
• 1. Search and download “Tuya Smart” in app store;
• 2. Register account as requirements by cell phone number or email;
• 3. Login Tuya app as follows after registered;
• 4. Add device: Confirm the WiFi connection works well before add the device, then click
add device or the “+”on top right corner of home interface. Then choose “Security& Sensor
(WiFi)”.
• 5. Smart mode internet connection
Enter the Add Device interface then press smoke alarm button 3 times continuously within
2s (operate this step under power on status, it’s invalid under other status); When module
LED fast flashes(After pressing the button, it may take a while for the LED to flash quickly.
Please be patient.), click “Confirm indicator rapidly blinks”, choose WiFi internet, input WiFi
password then click “Confirm”; When the circle progress bar appears on interface it
indicates that the internet connection is in progress.
There are 2 ways to connect internet, you can choose the one you like. Smart
mode internet connection is recommended as it’s easier.

• 6. AP mode networking
Enter the Add Device interface and click “Compatible Mode”; Press smoke alarm button
3 times continuously within 2s (operate this step under power on status, it’s invalid under
other status), when LED flashes slowly means networking is in progress (After pressing the
button, it may take a while for the LED to flash quickly. Please be patient.), click “Confirm
indicator slowly blink”; choose WiFi, input WiFi password then click “Confirm”; click “Go to
connect”, choose “smartlife-xxxx” internet connection, back to Tuya APP circle progress bar.

• 7. When the progress bar is finished and the device is successfully added, click Done to
display the device interface and the device is added successfully.
• 8. If the product connection is unsuccessful. Click “I got it” to try again. Repeat step 5 to
conduct the smart mode networking and repeat step 6 to conduct the AP mode networking.
• 9. Observe alarm information：
When an alarm happening, in addition to Tuya platform send alarm message to cell phone
APP (Pay attention to the message popping up once a minute, if there are two or more alarm
messages within one minute, the message will not be displayed again.); The “Profile”/
“Message center” and “Product”/ “HISTORY” will also shows the message records (the
smoke alarm panel doesn’t support alarm modes such as color change, but the battery
LOGO can display battery information.). Those records can be deleted or do other operations.

• 10. Exit account
Click the drop-down arrow beside 123 and choose Home management to enter home
settings. Click remove family then choose “Confirm leave” to exit home. Above steps can
be ignored to if want exit account directly. Exit methods as follows: Click Profile then
choose settings, at last click logout to exit account.
