reliable dual probe thermal detection instruments used for Chiropractic
Diagnostics ever manufactured. Our Nervo-Scope® line of products is
trusted by Chiropractic professionals around the world – and has been the
preferred tool for accurately adjusting patients for the most prestigious
doctors for decades. All of our instruments were engineered to deliver a
lifetime of accurate and dependable operation. In general, you should
treat these instruments with the same care and concern you would any
high quality medical product. They are designed to be ergonomic and
completely portable – we know they are used with each and every patient
and you need to trust it will work wherever and whenever you require it. All
Nervo-Scopes® - including the Pro-X – are used to compare, detect and
display differential skin temperatures along a glide path. Nervo-Scope®
instruments have earned the trust and respect of chiropractors worldwide
and we thank you for your never ending trust and loyalty to our brand.
The Nervo-Scope® Pro-X is used comfortably for both pre and post
adjustment assessment. The newest iteration of the longtime trusted scope
was developed to provide accurate readings in a package that is next
generation. As with the ETS-9 and ETS-9A models, the Pro-X is resistant to
interferencefromcellphones,iPadsandtablets,laptops,evenuorescent

these sources and consistently give precise and repeatable readings each
and every time the instrument is used. All Nervo-Scopes® are hand-made
by skilled craftsmen in our Virginia facility. In addition to manufacturing new
scopes, we are committed to providing ongoing service on every scope
we ever produced. At EDL – there is a time honored tradition of building a
quality product that may be passed down from generation to generation,
of listening to the Chiropractic community, and developing products
based on your needs – and what you require to help your patient. For more

Thermal Detector Arms & The Maximum
Flexibility for Adjustments
The Nervo-Scope® Pro-X offers fully adjustable legs & heads to
accommodate patients of all shapes, sizes, & ages. This scope may also
be used for equine and animal adjustments as the detector heads are
themostadjustableandexibleever–allowingyoutoscopepatientsof
virtually any size or shape.
The long time favored Super Glide tips were revived, however much
improved from their original design, and are now included as a standard
feature.Werenedthisadvancedscopetoincludethemuch-lovedcontour
extipswhichallowmaximumandvirtuallyunmatchedadjustabilityof
heads, with proven maximum range of motion for every type, size, and style
of patient.
The black plastic knob on the front of the meter, between the arms, is used
to lock the detector arms in place. When adjustment is required, loosen the
black plastic knob. The arms should move smoothly and easily. Carefully
compress or expand the detector arms to the desired width and lock them
in place by tightening the black plastic knob.
Note: You must move both detector arms in unison. If you move only one
side, you may damage the internal spring and block assembly. Be careful
and do not over-tighten the black plastic knob, but do make it tight enough
so the detector arms will not move while in use.
Operation
Power on the Nervo-Scope® unit and place the two detector arms against
the skin. Apply simultaneously with even pressure. Start and maintain your
glide at a constant {slow} rate. It is important to maintain the pressure
evenly with the detector arms at a right angle in relation to the skin surface.
It is suggested to use approximately 0.5 to 1 kg (1 to 2 lbs.) of pressure against
theskinwithmodicationsmadeasneeded.Undernocircumstanceshould
the glide cause any discomfort to the patient.

4 5
It is not uncommon for drafts or radiated heat to cause the instrument
indicator needle to appear off of the “0” (zero). It is recommended that you
call one of our experienced technicians at 1.800.342.5335 if you feel your
instrument is in need of adjustment.
To turn the unit on hold the “on/off” button for a minimum of 6 seconds (unit
will NOT turn on until you have released the button) This is also the “Hard
Reset” so if for ANY reason the software is NOT performing the way it should
you will hold the “on/off” button for a minimum of 6 seconds and release the
button and you will see the main “EDL splash screens”.
The “on/off” button will also turn the screen on and off when only pushed
once- a blue light will appear in the top right corner telling you the scope
is in sleep mode. Either touch the screen or push the on/off button once to
resume use. If the scope remains unused for one hour the screen will turn
off automatically (and can be used again with just one push of the on/off
button or touching the screen) after three hours of no operation, the unit will
go into a deep sleep power save mode. When this happens the blue light will
turn off and to resume use you must hold the “on/off” button for a minimum
of 6 seconds, again remember the unit will not turn on until you release the
button
This unit has a capacitive touchscreen and functions similarly to almost any
smart touch device (phone or tablet). Simply swipe the screen to change
between the “analog display” or the “digital bar graph display”. Please
remember this unit is still a differential temperature device meaning it Will
Not Always Sit At Zero – any air current or heat from body etc. will cause
the needle to move in either direction and therefore it will cause the unit
to appear “not centered or calibrated.” This is not accurate – again, it’s
differential temperature. All Nervo-Scope® units are triple checked and
calibrated prior to leaving our facility.

Analog Display
An analog view will depict 0-25 on both the left and right side of zero. The
movement of the needle directly coincides with the thermocouples in the
unit and when one side senses a temperature greater than the other the
needle will move to display this in the analog view.
On this view you will also see a quick representation with a colored depiction
that follows the needle as the number increases either direction
Digital Display
In this view you will see a large bar graph that will move either left or right,
based on the temperature the thermocouples detect. Here you will have a
true body temperature readout (which reads in °C or °F) which is extremely
helpful when checking fossa readings.
To use the scope- simply turn the unit on and perform a standard glide as
you would with any other diagnostic tool. To change any of the settings - the
gear and wrench icon on the top left of the screen is a settings button. Click
the icon and a drop-down menu will slide down full of the settings.
Other Settings
Light/Dark Mode: this will change to a dark background with lighter fonts/
graphics vs a brighter background with darker fonts/graphics- again this

however with the simple push of a button you can alter it to your liking.
Units: °F or °C – while in the digital view this will display actual body
temperature when needed
Show Temp: If you do not want to display the temperature you can simply
turn this feature off in the settings menu
L/R View: Again, while in the digital view this will display an “L” or an “R”
whichever direction the heat is sensed giving you a quick reference.

Sensitivity
The Nervo-Scope® Pro-X features eight (8) Sensitivity settings. These 8
sensitivities may be changed with just the push of the mode button. Again,
to change the sensitivities simply press the mode button OR in the settings
you can slide the button {slider} to your desired sensitivity. This advanced
tool allows you to change sensitivities while doing a standard glide.
However if you are “graphing” (we will go over this in the next section) your
glide you cannot change sensitivities - because during a “graph session”
the “mode” button has a different function. Note: the higher the number, the
higher the sensitivity - the lower the number, the lower sensitivity.
EDL cannot suggest the level you should set your sensitivity to - the Pro-X
defaults at sensitivity level 5 however each chiropractor may tailor this to
theirownlikingandeachpatientsspecicneeds.Pleaserememberour
older model scopes are generally a lower sensitivity while our newer model
scopes are a higher sensitivity. We suggest you test and practice with the

Thermocouple Tips
The thermocouple tips are prone to user error. ALL EDL instruments are built
withutmostcareanduseonlythenestcomponents.Weguaranteeevery
part of our scopes EXCEPT the thermocouple tips because it is up to you,
the Doctor, to keep your thermocouple tips clean and free of skin debris
and well stored. We do not require maintenance on tips if properly cared
for and cleaned. Please note these new and advanced tips featured on the
Pro-X are based on the same basic science and functionality, and made
with the same precision thermocouple wire as all of our previous model
Nervo-Scopes. It’s identical. But that is where the similarity ends. The new
and improved Contour Flex Tips (which are based on the longtime favorite)
aremadeofacompletelynewdesign,andonewithgreatsignicance.With
this new design we have virtually eliminated the ability to have a broken
or sharp edge – as the tip is now one single thermocouple with a smooth
rounded curved design. This design will never scratch the patient. It is
intended to smoothly glide along the spine. It ALSO makes cleaning much
easier as you are only cleaning one wire – not 8 crevices. There are virtually
NO hard-to-reach areas in this new design.

11
Graphing
This scope is equipped with a graph function which allows you to temporarily
store the glide you just performed allowing your patient to “see what you
see” – to use the Graph feature you can either be in the “analog view”,
“digital view” or even in the graph view (to get to the graph screen you will
simply click the bottom left button that says “graph”- this is how you will
see your graph after you have done the glide as well) you will simply hit the
“start” button from any view you would like and perform your standard glide.
Onceyouhavenishedyourglideyouwillhitthe“stop”button(thisisthe
same as the start button so make sure you only hit it once- as the unit only
stores the graph temporarily on this version). While performing a glide, if you
notice a subluxation, you can simply press the “MODE” button and instead of
changing the sensitivity while you are graphing this will place a “mark” on the
graph thus allowing you to see that break clearly. Once you have reviewed
the graph (for yourself or with the patient) you can perform another glide
and if you choose to graph again you simply hit the start button again and it
will automatically clear the old data and start a new glide.
Battery Information/ Charging
DO NOT use unit while it is charging. While the unit is charging the light will
show orange - when it is completely charged it will turn green. This unit will
holdachargeforroughly12hours,pleaseknowthisnumberwilluctuate
based on usage of instrument throughout the day and we recommend
charging it every night. The top right of the screen displays battery
percentage left for use. We suggest to never let the scope get below 10% as
you don’t want to run out during the glide and the screen will begin to get
dimandcouldinterferewithyourabilitytoviewyourndings.Thescopeis
supplied with a charging block and cord, to charge your device slide the
USB-C charging cord into the bottom charging port. Charging can cause a
slight increase in heat on the board therefore it is recommended not to use
your scope for ant least 10 minutes after removing the cord from the unit.
Cleaning
For compliance with current OSHA, FDA 510 (K), and EPA regulations; these
instruments must be cleaned between each patient. EDL has tested many
cleaners and Certol has been our cleaner of choice for several years.
ProSpray™ Wipes are surface disinfectant/cleaner towelettes that have
been chosen as our recommended cleaner due to the ratings achieved.
Togetthefullgermicidalbenet,thetipsmustremainmoistfor3minutes.
Simply wipe the tip with a towelette, then use the included brush to gently
brush the detector tip 3 to 5 times. Repeat these instructions for the other
detector. Let the detector tips dry for 3 to 5 minutes.
To clean the instrument housing, use a ProSpray™ disinfectant towelette
as well. Do not apply directly on the instrument. Liquid may seep into the
instrument and adversely affect the circuitry.
Note: Other disinfectants on the market do not have the ratings of
ProSpray™ and the use of these other disinfectants, especially ones that
contain quats or iodophors, will damage your instrument and void your
warranty. To purchase ProSpray™ Wipes, visit our website at www.edl-inc.
