4. PRINCIPLE ofDEVICEOPERATION
4.1Physiologicaleffect oftravelingpulsedmagneticfieldonhumanorganizm
Thecumulativescientificmaterial testifiesthat inabasisofamedical effectof
magneticfieldsistheirabilitybothtocontroltheflowofthechargedparticlesandtomake
actiononthemagnetisedbodiesirrespectiveofaconditionof theirflow.As aresult you
canhaveapositiveeffectuponnatural biological processresultinginintensifyingof
intracellularandintercellularmetabolism.Thusmagneticfieldtherapyisundeniably
promotesthebody`sownrestorativefunctioninthehealingprocess bydirectstimulation

thedeviceispluggedtothepowersupplymains.
GreencolourLTDsignallingtheavailabilityofmagneticfieldaction.Theformeris
connectedwiththetimerandisdisappearedafter22 minutesofoperation.Andat the
sametimetheactionofdeviceisstopped.

Theblinkingof greencolorLEDinthecenterof eachoffourcoilsconfirms
availabilityofALMAGserviceability.Thereisanothermeanstocheck-up ALMAG
deviceoperatingstate, theindicatorof amagneticfieldistobeputoncoils–inductorsin
turn.Thepresenceofapulsemagneticfieldwill befollowedwithablinkingofagreen
bulbinthecentreof theindicatororbyvibrationof theindicatorof amagneticfield
(dependingonkindof theinductor).
Bothsidesofthecoils-inductorsareserviceable, thereforetreatmentcanbecarriedout
bythesidewhichismostconvenient.
Duetohighpenetratingabilityofamagneticfieldofthedevicetreatmentcanbe
carriedoutalsothrough clothes, adryordampgauzebandage,1smthickplasterbandage.
Takenotice.Becauseofmagneticinductionvalueof±6mTl theglowingof green
lightointhecentreofinductoronthedifferentsurfacesofcoils-inductorsmaybe
differentonthecheckofthedevicestateofoperability.Thiscanreveal itselfifwe
removemagneticfieldinductorfromthesurface ofcoil-inductors.

5SAFETYMEASURES
5.1PleasestudythepresentOperatingManual carefullybeforeyoustarttousethe
Device.
5.2PerformexternalinspectionoftheDevicepriortoitsapplication.Thereshouldbe
nothesignsof damagebothonthedevicebodyandcoils-inductorsorcable.

5.7Safetyprecautionsat therapeuticprocedures:
a) thefirsttreatmentprocedure timeshouldnot lastlongerthan20 minutes;at
treatmentoftwozonesthetotalprocedure timeshouldnotexceed30 minutes,
b)thetimeof thefirst3procedureifthetreatedareaiscervico-thoracicshouldbenot
morethan10minutes.
c)thedirectapplicationof thedevice ontheheartregionandbrainisforbidden.
Note:theremaybethesignsof materialoutflowontheontheworkingsurface ofthe
devicebody,whicharenotconsideredasthebodydamageanddo notmakeinfluenceon

Donotplacetheoperativedeviceclose(lessthan0,5m)tomagneticdata carriers,
audio, video-devicesandothersmagneto-sensitivedevices.
6PREPARATIONFORUSE
-Afterstorageortransportedat temperaturesbelow+10 °Cit shouldbekeptinthe
roomat temperature(from+10 °Cto+35 °C)forat least4hours;
-Beforetheapplicationtheoutersurfacesofelectronicunit andcoils-inductors
shouldbedisinfectedbytheirwipingusingapiece of fabricclothwateredwith3%
solutionofhydrogenperoxideaddedwith0,5%detergentof“Lotas”typeorby1%
solutionof chloramine.
Whilecleaningavoidleakageofthedisinfectionsolutionordetergentinsideelectronic
unitandcoils-inductorscase.
Tobesureinthepresence ofmagneticfield,jointheindicatorofmagneticfieldtothe
effectivesurface ofeachcoil-inductorsof operativedevice.
Thecommoneffectivesurface istheeffectivesurfaceofall nontwistedfourcoils.
Atthebeginningof thetreatmentprocedurethepatienttakescomfortableposition
whichhecouldkeepup totheendof procedure.

WARNING! Portable MagnetotherapyDevice withaTravellingPulsedField
ALMAG–01 isequippedwithfasteningpiece (elastictapes).
Procedures(usually10-20 forthetreatmentcourse)arerecommendedtobecarriedout
inequalintervalsof time,preferablebeforehavingmeal.Itisundesirabletohavemeal,at
least,withinonehourafterprocedures.Some firstproceduresofatreatmentcourseareto
becarriedoutdailywiththeminimal 10 minutesdurationprocedure,graduallyincreasing
theirdurationwithin2-3 daysup tothemaximum.Commondurationof procedures
withoutspecial doctor`sadviseis10-20 minutes.
Proceduresaredesirabletobecarriedouttwiceaday.Duringonecourseoftreatment
it isnecessarytocarryouttreatmentof onlyonedisease.Arepeatedcourse,ifnecessary,
iscarriedoutin30-40days,andthenin3-4 months,that is3-4 coursesayear.Between
thetreatmentcourseinterval youcancureanotherdiseasedareaoforgan.Inarestit is
possibletotreat otherrangeoramember.Incaseofappearance ofundesirablesymptoms
(increaseofpains,giddiness,etc.)proceduresaretobecarriedouteveryotherdaywith
thesameduration.Ifundesirablereactionsarekept, itisnecessarytostoptreatment.
Itispossibletocarryoutmagneto-therapyforchildrenonlybeginningwith1,5-2 years
old.
ALMAG devicehaveagoodcurativeeffectfortheweakened,elderlyagepatients,
sufferingfromdiseasesofcardiovascularsystem.Thatallows toapplythedevice inmany
caseswhenthetreatmentbysomeotherphysical factorsisnotindicated.
AttreatmentwithALMAG youcanfell pleasantwarmthinaplace ofdeviceexposure
goingoutfrominductors.
Sometimesthepatientfellstheexacerbationofpainwithintheperiodof thefirst3
dayswhicharegoingawayaftertakingsomeprocedures.
Sometimesdependingof thediseaseseveritydegree theexpectedameliorationmay
takeplace in15-20 days.
Donotcarryoutmagnetotherapyproceduresonabackgroundoftakingalcohol.

Osteochondrosis -isdegenerativedystrophicdiseasecharacterizedbyaaffectionof
inter-vertebral disks,ostial-copularstructureofspinal columnandnervoussystem.As a
result ofloss ofinter-vertebral disksamortizationpropertiesthereispressingand
deformationbothofanervousroot,thevesseloraspinalcordthatinvokespain
sensations.

Spinalcolumnconsistsof 33-34 vertebras,whichconstitutecervical,thorocic,lumber,
sacral andcoccygeal partsof spinal cord.Betweenvertebrasaresoppycartilaginous
tissue,socalleddisks,whichserveasshock-absorbingpadding.Nexttoeachdiskthereis
nervousrootfromspinal cordtothat oranotherhumanbody.Ofthestateofspinal cord
nervesdependsthenormalfunctioningof all humanorgansandsystems.Ifdiskisin
goodcondition(sound),it allowsthevertebral segmentstomoveeasily,withoutnerve
incarceration. Withdisksfeedingdisordertheyareworn out, inter-diskpressureincreases.
Withthetimethenearvertebrasbecomesoclosetoeachotherthat touchandirritate
nervousrootwhenmove.Inthecourseoftimetheremayappeartheformationof
intervertebral hernia.
Themostlyaffectedpartsof spinal cordarelumbarandcervical parts,rarely–thorocic
part.
Symptoms: Thepatientswithlumbaraffectedpartsufferfromlumberregionpainat
physical tension,quickinconvenientmovement,longtensionstateorgettingcool.The
patientalsomayfeelpaininsuchorgansasbowels, sexorgans.
If cervical partsisaffectednotonlynerverootsandtheirarteriesaresubjectsto
pressure,butthespinal cordandinter-vertebral arteries.Thisisrevealeditselfwithneck,
shoulderandbackoftheheadpain, whichmaybespreadtoarm, shoulderbladeandthe
frontareaof chest.
Osteochondrosisofthorocicpartofspinal cordisrevealeditselfwithspinal column
pain,painsyndromefromthesideof humaninternal organs(heart,stomach,lung,liver,
kidneys, urinarybladder, pancreas)anddisorderof theirfunction(dyskinesia).
Veryoftenosteochondrosisiscomplicatedwithneurological complicationasaresult
ofnerveendingpressing.
Atfirstthepatientisprescribedwithshort-timebedrestwithin2-3 days.Withpain
syndromesubsideit isnecessarytostrengthenbackmusclecorsetwiththehelpof
physical exercises.
Magneto-therapywiththehelpof ALMAG device isrecommendedtobecarriedout
beginningwiththefirstdaysofdiseasediagnosing.

Complextherapy,includingmagnetotherapycourses,physical exercisers,
pharmacotherapy,restrainsdiseaseprogressivelyworsethusmakingthepatientstatus
muchmorebetter.
Treatmentprocedure. Themostoptimumtimetocarryprocedureoutisbeforegoing
tobedasafterprocedureit isnotrecommendedtogivealoadonaspinalcolumn. Incase
ofacutestageofdiseasewhenmotionisdifficult andthepatientisforcedtobeinthe
lyingposition,proceduresarecarriedouttwotimesaday-inthemorningandinthe
evening.Theinterval betweenproceduresshouldbenotlessthan6hours. Max. procedure
timeis15 minutes.
Thepatientisinlyingposition,thecoils-inductorsareplacedalongthefocus
projectionof theaffectedareaof thespinalcolumn.(see fig. 2).
Thefirstproceduretimeforpatientswithchronicdiseaseis10 min.,withthefurther
gradual risingup to20 min.
Maximumproceduretimeisup to30 min.(osteochondrosiscomplicatedwithneuritis).
Thecourseoftreatmentis18 days,maximum–20 days(withchronicformofdisease),
minimum–15 days.After6
th and12th dayoftreatmentcoursethereisanoneday
interval.ALMAGisindicatedforacute osteochondrosis,complicatedwithneuritis.
Proceduresaretakenonceaday. Theinfluencedpartsareaffectedspinal columnandthen
adjacentpartsalongtheprojectionof affectednerves:
-sciatic, tibial, fibular(see fig. 3);
-radial, ulnar,median(see fig. 4).

DEFORMING OSTEOARTHROSIS
Deformingosteoarthrosis -diseaseof jointsof thedystrophiccharacter.Itis
characterizedbytheaffectionof articulatecartilagesandperiarthric tissues.
Thetypicalsymptoms. Diseaseischaracterizedbyjointspainwhichisincreasedwith
theloading onthediseasedjointand reducedinthestateof rest;fractures;extremities
arcuation,moreoften,thighbones(femurs),accompanyingwithjointsinflammation,joint
stiffness inthemorning.
Womenabove40 yearsismoreoftensufferfromosteoarthrosis.
Patientssufferfromosteoarthrosisshouldavoidphysicaloverloadsandjoinstrauma.Itis
recommendedtousethechairswithdirecthorizontal back,insteadof softarmchairs,hard
bed.Personswithoverweightshouldchangetheirdiet.Physiotherapyexercises,especially
swimming,areof greatimportance forosteoarthrosisdisease.MagnetotherapybyALMAG
device takesoneof leadingroleincomplextreatmentand diseaseprophylaxis.
Curativeeffect..Travelling pulsedmagneticfieldhaspositiveanesthetizingeaction,

osteoarthrosisthecoil-inductorsareplacedaround ajoint(wrapping it)(anexampleof
treatmentof aknee jointsee onfig. 5).Ifhipjointisaffectedthecoil-inductorsareplacedso
thatthelastinductoristobeplacedonabuttock(backprojectionof ajoint).Twomiddle
coilsaretobeputonalateralprojection, and thefirstone-onaforward projectionof ajoint
(see fig.6). Procedurestime(see table2).
Thetherapywiththehelpof ALMAG device isindicatedforacuteosteoarthrosis,
complicatedwithneuritis. Proceduresaretobecarriedout2timesadaywithanintervalnot
less than6hours.Iftwoormorejointsareaffected,proceduresaretobecarriedout2timesa
day, oneprocedureforeachjoint.Forexample,thetreatmentof theleftarm(hand)jointis
tobecarriedoutinthemorning,andright-intheevening.Thetotaltimeof proceduresa
dayshouldnotexceed30 minutes.Withinof courseof treatmentitispossibletocurenot
morethantwojoints.Afterthecourseof treatmentit isnecessarytomakean10 days
interval andonlyafteritsexpirationyoucanstartthetreatmentof theotherjointsordisease.
Thereisanothertechniqueof treatmentiftwointerfacingjointsareaffected. Inthiscase
thecoilsareplacedalongtheextremity,covering bothjoints.Proceduresarecarriedout2
timesaday.Thefirstproceduretimeforpatientswithchronicdiseaseis10 min.,withthe
furthergradualrising upto20min.Max.totalproceduretime adayis30 minutes(if
proceduresarecarriedouttwice aday).Recommendedcourseoftreatmentis18days,
max.-20 (forchronicdisease),min.–15.After6th,12th dayyoushoulddo1daybreak. The

Repeatedcourseoftreatmentistobecarriedoutin30-40 daysafterthefirstone, anda

SCAPULOHUMERALPERIARTHROSIS
Scapulohumeralperiarthrosis ischaracterisedbypainandstiffness inashoulder
jointrelatedwithdifferentdiseasessuchas:jointtrauma,pancreaticdiabetes,diseasesof
periphericvessels, heartischemicdisease, bursitis, periarthritis.
Symptomswithscapulohumeralperiarthrosis: painintheshoulderatmovement
increasinginthenighttime,asymmetricaffection, thumbpressuretenderness.
Patientsuffersfromscapulohumeralperiarthrosisshouldlimittheloadonthediseased
jointanddoesregularly,evenimmediatelyafterthetakenmagneto-therapycourse,
physical exercises.
PhysicalexerciseNo.1.
Bendforward,thehandsarefreelyfallingdowntothefloor,thisexerciseallows the
articularcapsuletoberelaxedundertheactionof itsownweight.

ARTHRITIS
Arthritis -aninflammationof ajointwhicharisesfirstofall ininternal synovial
membraneofjoint. Inflammatoryprocess canaffecttheotherstructuresofajoint, aswell,
-acartilage, jointcapsule, periarthrictissues-ligaments, sinews.
Symptoms: thepaintduringactiveandpassivemovements,symmetricorasymmetric
affectionof thebigorlittlejointsdependingondiseaseform,movementrestriction
(stiffness),jointredness,itsswelling,local orgeneral riseof thetemperaturemayalso
takeplace.Itisveryimportanttoknowthatthetreatmentefficiencygreatlydependson
patientdirectparticipationintreatment.Themainaim of thetreatmentistopreservejoint
functional ability,notmakethediseasebeworsen.Thepatientshouldrightestimateall
unfavourablefactors–physical activity,overcoolinganddiseaseearlysymptoms,as
rapidfatigability,weakness,andtakethepropermeasures:torestrictactivityonthe
affectedjoints, bedrest.
Curativeeffect: ALMAG deviceisgiventhebigroleinprophylacticsofrelapsesand
supportingofalongremission.

EPICONDYLITIS
Epicondylitis -aninflammationof atendontissuesinaplace oftheirfixationtoa
bone. Itarisesfrommicrotraumas, jointinflammationandmotoractivity.
Mainlyphysical labourworkers,agriculturalworkersandsportsmenaresufferedfrom
thisdisease.
Symptoms: paininjointat movementandatpalpationalongaffectedtendon.
Epicondylitisofelbowjointtendoncanbefollowedwithelbownerveneuritis.Andwhen
heeltendonisaffectedthereispainintheheelwhenwetread(walk) (seefig. 10).
Shoulderepicondylitis–chronic,dystrophicaffectionofinsideandoutsideshoulder
epicondylesasaresult of repeatedstereotypemovementofforearm,sporttrauma,neck
osteocondrosis.
