• Thisunitwillstilloperateforapproximatively3Ͳ4minuteafterpressingthepoweroff
button.Thisisnormalandensuresthedesiccantwheelisdrainedofwater.Avoid
restartingthedehumidifierunitunless5minuteshavepassedsincebeingturnedoff.
• Neverusethemainsplugasaswitchtostartandturnoffthedehumidifier.Usethe
providedON/OFFswitchlocatedonthecontrolpanel.
• Alwaysplacetheunitonadryandstablesurface.
• Theapplianceshouldnotbeinstalledinalaundryorwetroomwherethehumidityis
higherthan85%RH.Thisunitshouldbeoperatedatanambienttemperaturebetween
1°Cand32°C.

•Donotdrylaundrydirectlyabovetheunit.Topreventwaterenteringthedehumidifier,
laundryshouldbeplacedatleast40cmawayfromyourdehumidifier.
•Donotplacetheunitnexttoheatsources(e.g.electricalfires,fireplaces,etc.)
• Desiccantdehumidifierstendtoabsorbodoursfromthesurroundingenvironmentlike
cigarettes,cooking,cosmetics,newfurnitureetc.Thissmelldescribedasaburningor
soursmell.Thisreleasedduringoperationasthezeolitediscisheatedduring
operation.Thisisnotsignofafaultandthesmellwillfadewiththetime.
•Donotstoreorusegasoline,petrol,paint,solventsorotherflammablevapoursand
liquidsinthevicinityofthisdehumidifieroranyotherappliance.Donotuse
dehumidifierswhereflammablegasesorVOCcanbereleasedoraccumulate.

EnergySavingandUnitSafetyProtectionTips
•Donotcoverorrestricttheairflowfromtheoutletorinletgrills.
•Formaximumperformancetheminimumdistancefromawallshouldbe20cmandit
shouldbekept50cmfromobjectswithintheroom.
• Keepthefiltersorgrillsoftheunitclean.Undernormalconditions,filtersorgrillsshould
onlyneedcleaningonceeverythreeweeks(approximately).Donotusetheunitwithout
themeshairfilterasthiswillallowdirttogatherinsidethedehumidifierandcould
invalidatethewarranty.Adirtyfilterwillrestricttheairflowintothemachinewhichwill
increasetheresistanceonthefanandcouldresultindamageandmightinvalidatethe
warranty.
Sincethefiltersremoveairborneparticles,morefrequentcleaningmaybenecessary,
dependingontheairquality.Vacuumandwashthemeshfilterswithhotsoapywater
anddrythembeforeplacingthembackintheunit.


ElectrIQdesiccantdehumidifiersusecompressorfreedesiccanttechnologytoextractwaterfromthe
environment.Thedesiccantdehumidifiersareidealbothatstandardandlowtemperaturesworkingon
ambientrangeofbetween1Ͳ32϶C.ElectrIQdesiccantdehumidifiersarelightandeasytomove,as
theydonotcontainaheavycompressor.Theyalsoworkintelligentlyastheyaredesignedtoextract
unwantedhumiditywhilesavingmoneyduetotheiradvancedpowersavinglogic.Theyfeaturean
intelligentdigitalhumidistatwithvariablehumiditysettingsat40%,50%,60%,70%RHensuringyour
roomisnotdriedtoomuchandpowerisnotwasted.TheEDD8Lalsofeaturesapowerfullaundrymode
andasleepmodegivingtheusertheabilitytoselectmaximumdehumidification,orquieteroperation.

INSTALLATION

Removeanywaterfromthewatertankbeforestartingtheunit.Inordertosaveenergy,donotopen
windowsordoorswhiletheunitisrunning.Placetheunitonahard/flatsurface.Wewouldadvisethe
unitisruncontinuouslyfor24hrsonitsfirstuse.

Toreducenoiselevels
Placeapieceofcarpetorarubbermatundertheunittoreduceanyvibrationswhiletheunitisrunning.
ForminimumnoiseruntheunitinSleepmode.


OnIndicator
GreenLight–Indicatestheunitisonandtheheatingelementisworking
RedFlashingLight–AntiTipsensor,detectingtheunitisnotupright.Iftheunithasbeen
tippedortilted,donotuseforatleast24hourstoallowittodryout.

FanSpeedButton
Usedtoselectthefanspeed,thecurrentspeedisindicatedbytheLEDLightsabovethe
button.
SLEEP–Theunitwillruninlowfanspeed,withalowerheat,ensuringtheunitrunsasquietly
aspossible
STANDARD–Theunitwillrunatmediumfanspeed,withthehighheatsetting
TURBO–Theunitwillrunathighfanspeed,withthehighheatsetting
Note:Oncetheairhasreachedthedesiredhumiditysetting,theheaterwillstop,butthefanwillcontinue
tooperateatthesetspeedforashortperiodthentheunitwillstop,resumingoperationafter30minutes
whenwillcheckhumidityagain.Ifhumidityintheroomis<settargetthanthedehumidifierwillgoto
standbyforanother30minutes;otherwiseifhumidityintheroomis>settargetthenthedehumidifierwill
startdehumidifying.Thisprocessensureenergysavingswhilemaintainingthesethumidity.

LaundryMode
Thismodeisidealforcreatingagreatenvironmentfordryingclothes.Theunitwillworkfor
8hourscontinuouslywiththedesiredhumiditysetat40%beforerestingfor30minutes.The
unitwillthencheckthehumidityoftheroom.Ifitisabove40%theunitwillworkfor
another8hoursbeforerepeatingtheprocess.Ifthehumidityoftheroomisfoundtobe
below40%,theunitwillrestforanother30minutesbeforerecheckingthehumidityofthe
room.TheLEDabovethebuttonislitwhenLaundryModeisselected.


HumidityButton
ThisAllowstheusertoselectthedesiredhumidityfortheroom.Thebuttonshouldbe
repeatedlypressedtocyclebetweenthedifferentoptionsCO(ContinuousMode),40%,50%
60%or70%RH

PleaseNote:After8hoursoftheheaterrunningcontinuously,theunitwillrestfor30minutesbefore
resumingthepreviouslyselectedoperation.

TimerButton
WiththeunitTurnedOn–RepeatedlypresstheTimerbuttontoselectinhowmanyhours
timeyourequirethemachinetoturnoff.ThenumberofhoursisdisplayedontheDisplay
Window
WiththeunitTurnedOffͲRepeatedlypresstheTimerbuttontoselectinhowmanyhourstimeyou
requirethemachinetoturnon.ThenumberofhoursisdisplayedontheDisplayWindow

Thetimercanbedeactivatedonceset,byrepeatedlypressingthetimerbuttonuntil00isshownonthe
DisplayWindow.



SMARTMode
Thismodeensureminimumhumaninterventionandmaximumsavings.Smartmodesetsthe
desiredhumidityfortheunitto55%RHwhichistherecommendhumidityfornormal
households,andadjuststhefanspeeddependingonthecurrenthumidityoftheroom,
followingthetablebelow.

Above70%UnitwillruninTURBOmode
Between55%and70%UnitwillruninSleepMode
Lessthan55%Unitstopsfor30minutesbeforerecheckingroomshumidity.Willnotrestart
untilhumidityisabove55%

AirpurificationMode
Thismoderunsthefanwithoutdehumidifyingtheair.Thisisgreatforpurifyingtheair
whenthedesiredroomhumidityhasbeenreached,especiallywhentheoptionalHEPAfilter
isinstalled.IfusingaHEPAfilterwhiledehumidifyingpleasenotethatperformanceofthe
unitmaybereducedby10%.

FRONTHUMIDITYINDICATOR

TheElectrIQEDD8Linequippedwithanintelligenthumiditydisplayonthefront,givingtheuseran
immediatevisualindicationoftheambienthumidity.ThefrontLED’swillchangecolourtoindicatethe
currenthumiditylevel




















Blue light – room humidity > 70%
Green light – room humidity 50~70%
Red light –room humidity < 50%

OPERATION
Beforeoperatingtheunit,pleaseensureitispluggedintoamainssocket,andopentheairdeflectoron
thetopoftheunit.

SwitchingtheunitONandOFF
Pressthepowerbuttontoturnontheunit.Theunitwillstarttoworkinsleepmode,withadesired
humidityof50%set.Toturnofftheunitpressthepowerbuttonagain.
Pleasenotethatwhenturningitoff,thedehumidifierwillstilloperateforanumberofminutesto
dischargetheremainingwaterfromthedesiccantdiskandpreventmouldgrowth.

SettingtheLaundryMode
PresstheLaundryButton.Laundrymodewillsetthefanandheaterontomaximumand
humidistatcontrolwillbedisabled.


Donotdrylaundryabovetheunitto
preventwaterenteringthedehumidifier.
Placethelaundryatleast40cmawayfrom
yourdehumidifier.Directtheunitwith
frontventstowardstheclothesaireror
hangingclothes.Hotdryaircomesfroma
45degreesangle.Laundrymodecanbe
usedinconjunctionwiththestopping
timer.

IMPORTANT:Pleasefollowthedistances
shownonthediagram,toensurethatthe
walls,clothing,andotherobjectsarekepta
safedistancefromtheunit.




SettingtheTimer
Onpressingthetimerkeythe2digitsLEDdisplaywillcyclethrough1Ͳ24showingthenumber
hoursafterwhichthedehumidifierwillstop.Thedisplayedtimewillreverttohumiditydisplaya
numberofsecondsafterselectionwasmade.
Whenselecting'4hours'forexampletheunitwillstopoperatingafter4hoursattheselected
humidity/fansettings.Ifthetankbecomesfullbeforethefinishtime,theunitwillstop,andthe
TankFullLEDwillflash.

Atanypointthetimerkeycanbepressedrepeatedlytochangethedesireddurationoruntil00is
displayedtocancelthetimer.

Ifthetimerbuttonisusedwhiletheunitisturnedoff(ButPluggedin),youcanspecifythenumberof
hoursuntiltheunitturnson.

SettingtheDehumidificationlevel
Starttheunitandleaveitfor5Ͳ10minutesonsleepmode(50%RH)untilthehumidistatisableto
correctlyreadthehumiditywithintheroom.
Pressthehumiditylevelkeytoselectthedesiredhumidistatcontrolsfromcontinuous
operation(CO)to40%50%60%70%.
Whilepressingthehumiditylevelkeythedisplaycyclesthehumidistatsetrangeforthisunitfrom40%
through50%60%70%backtocontinuousmode.

Intelligentdehumidificationandpowersaving
YourElectrIQdehumidifierfeaturesanintelligentmicroCPUthatensuremaximumwaterextraction
withminimumpowerusefortheselectionmade.
Theunitwilltrytomaintainhumiditylevelselectedintheroombyturningofftheheatingelement
whenthedesiredhumidityisreached.Notethataccordingtothespacewheretheunitisused,
obstaclesinthedirectflow,extrahumiditybeingaddedatanytime,settingsselected,aswellasother
environmentalfactorstheresultsmayvary.

OPERATIONALADVICE
1. Plugtopower,pressthepowerbuttontoturnͲonthemachine;pressthepowerbuttonagainto
turnͲoffthedehumidifier.
2. MakesurewaterͲtankisplaced/fittedcorrectly.Ifthewatertankisnotfitted/placedcorrectlythe
'waterfull'light  willflashandthemachinewillnotoperate.
3. Whenthedehumidifierfirststarts,defaulthumiditysettingissetto50%RH.
4. Whenunpluggingfromthewallsocketuseonehandtoholdtheplugandtheotherhandagainst
sockettoavoidpowercorddamage.
WARNING:Usingpoorqualitysockets,extensionsoroverloadingthecircuitsmaycausedamageto
themachineormaystartafire.
5. WhenswitchingOFFthemachine,donotsimplyunplugtheunitfromthesocketͲensureyouturn
offthemachineproperlyandhaveallowedittocompletethedryingcycle(waitforthefantostop),
beforeunplugging.

TiltProtection
YourElectrIQdehumidifierwasdesignedwithsafetyinmind.Whenunitistilteditwillbeshutdownto
minimizesafetyriskordamage.TheOnlightwillflashred,toindicateantitiltprotectionhasactivated.

Iftheunithasbeentilted,pleasedonotuseifforadayortwountiltheinternalsarecompletelydried,as
usingtheunitafterithasbeentiltedcouldresultinashortcircuit,whichwouldinternallydamagetheunit.

POSITIONINGTHEDEHUMIDIFIER
Thepositioningofyourdehumidifiercanhavealargeimpactonitsperformanceandefficiency.Inpositioningthe
dehumidifierpleaseensurethecirculationofairisnotrestrictedaroundtheunit.Pleaseobservethefigurebelow
showingtheclearancewhichisrequiredaroundtheunit


YourElectrIQdehumidifierwillbegintoprotectyourhomefromtheharmfuleffectsofexcessivemoistureassoonas
itisturnedon.Excessmoisturetravelsthroughoutyourhome,inthesamewaythatcookingsmellsspreadaround
thehouse.Forthisreason,thedehumidifiershouldbepositionedinacentralandclearlocationsothatitcandraw
thismoistairtowardsitfromalloverthehome.Awarmhallwayorlandingisanexcellentpositionforyour
dehumidifier.Ifpossible,leaveinteriordoorsajartoallowaircirculationbetweenrooms.

Alternatively,ifyouhaveaseriousproblemin
oneareayoucanbeginbypositioningthe
dehumidifierthereandmovingittoamore
centrallocationatalaterdate.Forthemost
effectiveuse,runyourdehumidifierwithany
externaldoorsandwindowskeptclosed.

Pleasenotetheunitshouldnotbeplaced
directlyagainstaradiatororotherheat
source.

WhenpositioningyourElectrIQdehumidifier,
ensurethatitisplacedsecurelyonalevel
surfaceclearofanyobstaclethatmaylimitthe
airmovement.
Thisdehumidifierisdesignedonlyforindoor
residential/officeapplicationsandany
commercialorindustrialusewillinvalidatethe
warranty.Placethedehumidifieronaflatdry
surface.Donotuseoutdoors.




WATERDRAINAGE
Whenthewatertankisfull,theunitwillstopautomatically.Whenthishappensthewaterfullindicatorlight 
willblinkonthecontrolpanel.
Toemptythetank,pleasefollowthesteps:
1. Holdtheunitwithonehandtomakeitstandfirmly.
2. Pulloutthetanksquarelyfromtheunit.
3. Graspthewatertankhandle,removethecoverof
thetank,andemptythewaterfromthedrain.

Afterthetankhasbeenemptied,returnthewatertankto
itsposition,andmakesureitisproperlyinserted,sothat
the'waterfull'LEDisnotlit,andtheunitreturnsto
normaloperation



Notes:
•Donotremovethewatertankimmediatelyaftertheunitstops.Pleasewaitawhiletoavoidthe
waterdrippingintotheunitandcausingdamage.
•Onlyemptythewatertankwhenitisfullorbeforemovingorstoringtheunit.
•Donotrestthetankonthefloorbecausethebottomofthetankcouldbeunevenandtankmayfall
andcausethewatertospill.
• Whenyouremovethetank,donottouchsensorsoranypartswhicharesituatedbehindtank.
Doingsomaydamagetheproduct.Besuretopushthetankgentlyallthewayintotheunit.
Bangingthebucketagainstanythingorfailingtopushitinsecurelyintoplacemaycausetheunit
nottooperate.
•DonotremoveordamagethefloatswitchinthewaterͲtank,otherwisethemachinewillstop
working.
• Pleasemakesurethewatertankcoverisputbackintoplacecorrectlybeforethewatertankis
reinserted.
•IfthewaterͲtankisinsertedincorrectly,thetankfullindicatorwillflash.Removethewatertankand
reinserttoturntheindicatoroffandresumenormaluse.
•Atalltimes,avoidwaterenteringtheunit.Itmaycauseanelectricalhazardanddamagetheunit.

CONTINUOUSDRAINAGE
Thisdehumidifierhasacontinuousdrainholethatcanbeconnectedtoaplasticpipewithan11mminner
diameter(NotSupplied).Watercanbeautomaticallyplumbedinordrainedintoasink,alarger
receptacleorthroughthewallintoanoutsidedrain.Pleasefollowthestepsbelowtosetyourunitupfor
continuousdrainage:

1. Cutoffthecoverforthecontinuousdrainontheback
oftheunit.
2. Removetheblackrubberwaterplug.
3. Connectawatertubeofinnerdiameter11mmtothe
drainconnector,andensuretheconnectionistight
*Pleasenote,thewatertubeisnotsuppliedwiththe
unit.
4. Pulloutthewatertank,plugthedroppinggateinside
theunitwiththewaterplugtakenfromthe
continuousdrainport.
5. Returnthewatertankbackintopositionwithinthe
unit.

Thisunitusesgravityfalltodisposewaterhencethedrainshouldbelowerthanthedehumidifierwater
outlet.Besuretorunthewaterpipedownwardandletthewatertoflowoutsmoothly.Donotkinkor
bendthepipe.
NOTE:Whenthecontinuousdrainfeatureisnotbeingused,reversethepipeinstallation,removethedrain
hosefromtheoutletandattachtherubberplugbacktothedrainoutlet
Thepermanentdraincanbeusedinconjunctionwithwaterpump(e.g.whendrainingfromacellar)tolift
thewaterupwards.


CAREANDMAINTENANCE
Alwaysswitchofftheunitandunplugfromthemainsbeforecleaningorperforminganymaintenance.Whenitisnotin
useforalongperioditisadvisedtoremovetheplugfromtheplugsocket.Donotusechemicalsolvents(suchasbenzene,
alcoholorgasoline)astheymaycauseirreversibledamagetotheunit.

FilterCleaning
TheAirͲinletmaygatherdusteasily,pleasecleanitoftenwithasoft,dampcloth.Ifthefilteriscoveredbydust,the
airflowandtheperformanceoftheunitwillbeaffected,itmayevencausemachinedamage.Werecommendthat
youregularlycleanthefilters.Thedehumidifiermustbedisconnectedfromthesocketbeforemaintenanceandthe
filtersmustbeallowedtofullydrybeforereuse.


1.Removethefiltersfromtheunit,andtapthedust
away.
2.Cleanthecarbonandthemeshfilterwithavacuum
cleanerorsoftͲbrush
3.Ifdirtandgreaseisaccumulatedwashthemeshfilter
inhotsoapywater
3.Replacethefiltersinpositionasshowninthe
diagram.




Note:Neverusetheunitwithouttheantibacterialmeshdustfilter.The
activecarbonfilterisoptionalandshouldbereplacedifnecessaryafter
1Ͳ1½yearsofusage.Alwaysremovethefiltersoutofprotectivebags
beforefirstuse.




ThereisanoptionalHEPAfilteravailableforpurchase.HEPAfilterwillenhancetheairqualityintheroom.
PleaseinstalltheHEPAfilterbetweenthefilterframeandtheactivecarbonfilterasindiagrambellow.
ReplacetheHEPAfilterevery6monthsoroftendependingontheenvironmentandairquality.Neveruse
theunitwithcloggedfilters.








GrilleandCaseCleaning
Usewaterandamilddetergent.Donotusebleachorabrasives.Donotsplashwaterdirectlyontothemain
unit.Doingsomaycauseanelectricalshockandcanleadtodeteriorationoftheinsulation,orcausethe
unittorust.Theairintakeandoutletgrillesgetsoiledeasily,souseavacuumattachmentorsoftbrushto
clean.


Watertankcleaning
Everyfewweeks,cleanthetanktopreventgrowthofmould,mildewandbacteria.Partiallyfillthetank
withcleanwaterandaddalittlemilddetergentorlightbleachsolution.Swishitaroundinthanemptythe
tankandrinse.
NOTE:Donotuseadishwashertocleanthetank.Aftercleaninganddryingthetankmustbereinserted
securelyintodehumidifierinordertorestartoperation.Onlyusesoftwetclothorpapertowel.Donotuse
detergentorveryhotwater.

Endofseasonstorage
