VOLT CHECK - OLP 3+ monitors the line voltage and
trips if safe limits (160-270V) are breached. If tripped,
the reason (Hi/Lo) and value of unsafe voltage are
shown.
AMP CHECK – Current drawn by the AC is monitored
continuously, and the output is disconnected if this
exceeds a pre-set limit. This protects the compressor
from damage due to rotor locking or excessively long
start-up time. Tripping follows an inverse time-current
characteristic - higher the overload, faster the tripping
response. After tripping, the overload current is shown
on the display.
TIME CHECK – On tripping, OLP 3+ holds the output
open for a duration of 3 minutes from the time of last
compressor operation, and then restarts the AC
automatically. This is important safety measure for the
compressor. When TIME CHECK is active, the display
indicates the number of minutes left for AC to restart,
along with trip information.

Thank you for choosing an Electron product!
The all-new OLP 3+ is an advanced microprocessor-controlled motor starter designed to ensure
safety and long life of your air-conditioner using the time-tested combination of VOLT CHECK,
AMP CHECK, and TIME CHECK. The vivid 3-digit display shows all operational parameters
such as voltage, current, reason for trip, and time remaining till reset, for user interest and
awareness of their AC's consumption characteristics. OLP 3+ coveniently fits in a standard 4-
module box.

Display Information:
On starting up: The display briefly turns all segments on and then shows the trip setting.
If an unsafe line voltage is present, preventing your AC from being allowed to start, OLP 3+ will display
the line voltage alternated with “Hi” or Lo”, indicating that the voltage is too high or too low respectively.
During TIMECHECK: TIMECHECK is active when OLP 3+ is restarted or has tripped due to
VOLTCHECK or AMPCHECK and less than three minutes have passed since the compressor was
last turned off.
- - - Blinking) Restarting within 3 minutes.
During normal operation: If the starter is on but the AC is not running, OLP 3+ displays the voltage (as a
3-digit number without a decimal place). When the AC is running, the display switches to showing the
current being drawn by the AC, in amperes, with one place of decimal. The below examples might be
useful:
1. Voltage being displayed. 2. Current being displayed.

(Blinking) Restarting within 2 minutes.
(Blinking) Restarting within 1 minute.
If AMPCHECK caused OLP 3+ to trip, the dashes will alternate with a display of “OL” and the fault
current in amperes, indicating an overload.
If VOLTCHECK caused OLP 3+ to trip, the dashes will alternate with a display of “Hi” or Lo” and the
fault voltage which caused the trip.

Insert wire terminals (copper only) and tighten all screws
fully to avoid loose connections and fire hazards.
SCPD/MCB must not be rated higher than 32A.
If required, a hole can be drilled through the front platefor
passing the AC’s power cable. There is a provision made
for this in the back plate to the left side of the terminals.
The AC should be Earthed directly. OLP 3+ does not
require an Earth connection.
