RESENTATION

ELSEA s.r.l. would like to thank you for hoosing the
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 – ZLA40C – ZLA40CB the new and
ompa t wash/dryer, who,s hara teristi s we are sure will fullfill
your working needs.
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 – ZLA40C – ZLA40CB has been
designed and built in total line with the dire tive 459/96, with
premium quality materials and the maximum of reasear h to redu e
the risk of breakdowns.
This manual has been written to minimise the risk of injury to the
operator and also to tea h the operator the orre t use of the
ma hine ,its fun tions and its long life.
Before use, we suggest that the user fully reads the manual, and to
s rupulously keep to the instru tions ontained there in For safety
reasons do not try any kind of operation not spe ifi ally mentioned in

1. DESCRI TION OF THE MACHINE
The onstant resear h applied to wash/dry ma hines has enabled ELSEA S.r.l. to realise
WASH/DRYER Mod.Nimbus, a type of wash/dryer, extremely versatile and manageable,
with ompa t dimensions perfe t for your pla e of work, leaning your floor surfa es
perfe tly, with optimum su tion of liquids and simple to use.
The ma hine has been given an inter hangeable brush, level to 360mm assembled on a plate
of ompletely stainless steel, the ma hine has also been built on a “ hassis body”, that is a
bearing tank that a ts as a hassis, to whi h all the omponents are fastened ( the wheel axis,
su tion motor, and the brush plate).
This solution has allowed us to obtain ertainly, a reliable working ma hine for our time,
with unique hara teristi s in the market, these hara ters are its simpli ity fun tion and
strength and above all low maintenan e, light and pra ti al, with astheti beauty.
Also, the best design of the dryer (squeegee) and its parti ular ollaboration with the brush
has allowed to obtain the perfe t su tion, of all detergent liquid onthe floos surfa e.

built in line with ele tri s ruling EN60335-1.

3. SAFETY INFORMATION
In onsideration of the safety rules of the ma hine dire tive 459/96, and ele tri rules En
60335-1 e 60335-2, and of D.Lgs. 81/08 ( safety only text) the ma hine type
WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 – ZLA40C – ZLA40CB adheres to the minimum
required safety features.
In parti ular the ma hine is built with the following te hni al features to prote t the operator
in its use and maintenan e.
• All moving parts ,me hani al or not,are prote ted by guards with hexagonal sunken
s rews.
• The start ( whi h puts the su tion and brush motors in motion) an be ex lusively done by
using :I / O of the general ignition, situated on the ontrol panel of the ma hine ( general
power to all the ir uit), and su essively pressing the button START to operate the
motors singly ( brush rotation,su tion).
• On the ontrary, it is possible for the operator in an emergen y, to stop the ma hine at
any moment by using the same button I /O.
• Whatever operation, brush plate, su tion motor, battery hamber, must always be done
with the ma hine swit hed OFF.
• Labels of danger and aution are pla ed in ertain areas, if these ares are not respe ted,
you are putting yourself at risk.
3.1. CAUTION
1. ELSEA s.r.l. DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR MACHINE
GUARANTEE in the ase of modifi ations, infringements or ontrivan e, however
small, and whi h ever part, the aqquired produ t is used for any thing it was not built
to do.
The ma hine has been built to top grade to satisfy the market in quality and
produ tion.
All materials and omponents used in its making satisfy the safety rules CEE and
ELSEA s.r.l. hold the respe tive ertifi ation.
2. Only use brushes given with the ma hine, or those spe ified in the instru tion
manual, Using other brushes ould ompromise the safety of the ma hine.
3.2. ATTENTION
1. this ma hine is not adapted to va um dangerous dust,debris.
2. Do not use the ma hine on a tilt more than suggested in the manual.
3. The ma hine must only be used by trained persons.
4. The ma hine must be dis onne ted from its power sour e ( able if mains ele tri , or
its battery during leaning or maintenan e and during ex hange of parts.

5. Use adequate prote tion ( gloves) during onta t with liquid detergent and during the
hange of brush.
6. All a idental splash of detergent in the eyes must be washed out thoughroughly with
plenty of water and medi al help sought.
7. Handle the battery with are, all a idental onta t of battery fluid with the eyes or
sensitive parts of the body must be qui kly washed out with plenty of running water
and medi al help sought, use gloves and goggles.
8. Do not disperse battery fluid into the environment.
4. USE OF THE MACHINE
The floor washing ma hine, WASH/DRYER Mod. ZLA40 – ZLA40C –
ZLA40CB HAS BEEN BUILT ONLY AND EXCUSIVELY FOR THE CLEANING OF
FLOORS, USING A MECHANICAL ROTATING BRUSH ACTION,and a hemi al a tion
of water and detergent solution.
Also, during its advan e motion, the dirt removed and the detergent solution on the floor
ome olle ted via a su tion motor ( dryer or squeegee) whi h, through tubes, passes the
said liquid into a waste tank.
Every other use is onsidered inappropriate and onsequently dangerous, if the safety rules
are not followed with this ma hine it ould result in damage to the ma hine and its operator.
Every operation of maintenan e, repair, brush hange, et , must be done with the ele tri s
se tioned.

5. MOVING THE ACKING
The ma hine is delivered dire t from the fa tory,mounted on a europallet.
The europallet must be moved using a fork lift tru k.
CAUTION: Absolutely avoid stopping whilst moving the ma hine in its pa king state.
No part of the ma hine is designed to take any weight.. therefore, not for any reason must
any raising hooks be pla ed on the ma hine. If the ma hine falls during lifting it ould ause
grave damage to peronnel and itself .
6. UN ACKING THE MACHINE
Now the ma hine has to be unpa ked.
Pro eed as follows:
1. remove external pa king, the ma hine will be fixed to the pallet base with steel straps.
2. Remove steel straps and fixings.
3. Tilting the pallet ba k gently, allow the ma hine to slowly roll off,keeping hold .
4. retain the steel straps and fixing bolts for any future re pa king.

7. RE ARING THE MACHINE FOR SERVICE
Before putting the ma hine into servi e,follow these pointers:
• First thing, he k the ma hine has not been damaged, in parti ular,all external parts are
inta t.
• The pa king ontains all the omponents (squeegee, brush , instru tion manual, spare
parts atalogue, guarantee.)
In the unlikely ase of damage, problems or missing parts, do not pro eed with assembly,but
all the selling agent or dire tly to ELSEA.
7.1. Preliminary operations
7.1.1. Dryer (squeegee)
The squeegee is fixed dire tly behind the brush, in a “hugging” manner .

Insert the su tion tube in the opposite pipe, arefully rotating to one side the squeegee in
order to fit orre tly.
There is no need to fix the squeegees raising able, as this always works dire tly on the
support.

7.1.2. Assembly and charge of battery
The battery hamber is a essible at the ba k of the ma hine, and is found dire tly on the
waste tank, this permits easy maintenan e of the battery, and mu h safer.
To install the battery for the first time, or to hange, pro eed as follows ( note: every single
detail is explained and shown in photos in the following paragraphs.):
1. remove the rear prote tion guard, loosening the two fixing s rews.
2. Put ba k the battery in the waste tank
3. make sure the battery has been onne ted properly, lastly onne t the power able.
4. Close the panel
5. Safely onne t the two red onne tors ( Anderson plug fitting) to the ele tri .

7.2. Splash guard
The hamber where the dryer brush rotates is delimited by a rubber band whi h has the
s ope to avoid water splashes but holds detergent on the brush. The rubber band, or
“bumper” is fixed on the brush plate a ross two steel rings. Dismantling is done by
releasing the rings on the opposite grooves in the brush plate.

7.3. Mounting the brush
The brush is easily mounted raising the brush plate a ross the opposite third wheel near the
ba k of the ma hine, on the side SX of the brush plate, as shown in the pi tures.
1. Swit h off all motors, shutting down power to all the ma hine.
2. Using the raising lever on the brush plate, as shown in the Fig, turning until the third
wheel is not resting on the floor and the brush plate is raised off the floor.
3. Position the brush under the brush plate, entral to the hub, and with two hands
pushing up with one de isive movement so it fastens and remains parallel to the
brush plate.
4. Make sure the brush is fixed and positioned on the hub. ( the pivots of the entral hub
must sit in the seats as shown in fig 14.
5. Lower the brush plate ,again using the lever, in the opposite dire tion.
Switch power back on, and switch on brush rotation. Fig 8

Filling the solution detergent tank.
The solution detergent tank is on the front of the ma hine, to fill you need to uns rew the
plasti ap on the top. Filling is simply done through this filler ap.. ( see fig ) .

Refill the tank with lean warm water ( not ex eeding 50° C), at this point add the detergent
in the way and on entration suggested by the seller.
ATTENTION: TRY TO AVOID CAUSING TO MUCH LATHER, whi h ould damage the
su tion motor For this reason it is advisable to use the minimum amount of detergent, as
suggested by our ompany. Use a low lather solution and eventually introdu e some anti-
lather liquid in your waste tank. Not for any reason must high a id solutions be used.
7.4. Note: detergent tank capacity = 35 litres
WASTE TANK
The waste tank is positioned entrally and onstitutes the“ main frame ” of the ma hine.
To empty the tank,on e filled with waste water you need to pro eed this way:
•Empty waste water in a pla e where it is not going to harm the environment .
• Unfasten the orrugated waste tube, after having positioned it into the waste outlet,
open the waste tap.

To lean the waste tank it is ne essary to uns rew on of the two aps whi h are pla ed on
top, of the side ( one right one left).
This operation only needs to be done if you need to lean the waste tank, pro eed as follows:
• Remove the washer taps
• Fill with 4/5 litres of detergent/water solution.
• Move the ma hine from front to ba k to lean the tank.
• Empty as previously shown.

The waste tank ontains a float,whi h, by a led light on the ontrol panel signals that the
waste water level is not at maximum. When the light swit hes off the waste tank needs
emptying.
NOTE: Maximum waste water apa ity = 36 litres
7. . Battery charging
The state of battery harge an ontinuously be see by a series of led lights on the ontrol
panel.
• Green led on: battery harged
• Yellow led on: battery will soon need harging
• Red led on: no harge , harge battery immediately.
To re- harge the battery pa k pro eed as follows:
1. Swit h off general ignition
2. take out the Anderson type plug, at the ba k of the ma hine.
3. Plug the harger into the domesti mains, assembled at the ba k of the ma hine.

NOTE: Only use the battery harger supplied with the ma hine ,avoid any other harger as
it may not have the same hara teristi s.
7.6. djusting handlebar tilt
The ma hine has been given a pra ti al tilt adjustment ( height) on the handlebars.
To adjust the handlebar height you need to use the losing s rew whi h is situated on the
stirrup,as shown in the Fig.
• loosen the s rews ( on the battery hamber, left and right),
• Position the handlebars to the desired height.,
• Tighten the s rews.
