PREPARATIONFORUSE
UNPACKINGAND SETUP
•Removeall packing materialsfromthe unit.Alsoremoveanydescriptivelabels
fromthe frontortop ofthe radio.Donotremoveanylabelsfromthe back or
bottomofthe radio.
•Placethe radioon astableshelf, desk,nightstand,table,etc,convenienttoa
120V60HzACoutlet, and awayfromdirectsunlightorsourcesofheat,
humidity,moisture,dust, orvibration.
•Unwind theACpowercord.The FMantenna isbuiltintothe powercordsobe
suretoextend ittoitsfull lengthforbestFMreception.
BACK UPBATTERYINSTALLATION
The Back Upbatterycompartmentislocated on the bottomofthe radio.Open the
batterydoor,asshowninthe illustration,and connecta9Vbattery(notincluded)
tothe batteryterminals.The batterycan onlybe connected one way.Pushthe
batteryback intothe batterycompartmentand replacethe batterydoor.
Note:Useonlyawell knownbrand ofAlkaline batteryforlongestlifeand best
performance.
Inthe eventofatemporarypowerinterruption the clock displaywill go off, butthe
back up batterywill maintainthe timeand alarmsettings.When powerisrestored
the clock displaywill comeon againand the timeand alarmsettingswill be correct.
POWERFAILUREINDICATION
If you do notinstall abattery,orifthe batteryisexhausted and the poweris
interrupted,the timeand alarmsettingswill be lost. When powerisrestored the
displaywill beginflashing.Thisflashing displayisyourindication thatthe clock is
incorrectand you mustresetboththe timeand alarmsettings.

Fullyextend theACpowercordand insertthe plug intoapolarizedAC120V60Hz
outlet. Notethatthisunithasapolarized ACplug withone wide blade and one
narrowblade.Thisisasafetyfeaturedesigned toprotectyou fromelectricshock.
If thisplug will notfitintoyouroutletyou mayhavean outdated,non-polarized
outlet. Donottrytodefeatthissafetyfeaturebyusing an adapter,orfiling the
widerblade on the plug tomakeitfitintoyouroutlet. Contactalicensed electrician
toreplaceyouroutdated outlet.
Note:Besuretoconnectthisradiotoan outletthatisalways 'live'.Donotconnect

OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
SETTINGTHECLOCK
When the unitisplugged inforthe firsttimethe clock will show(AM)"12:00"and
the displaywill flash.The flashing will stop afterthe clock hasbeen set.
1.)Depress the CLOCKbutton and the HOUR button togethertoadjustthe clock
tothe correcthour,then releasethe buttons.
Note:Besuretosetthe hourcorrectlyforAMorPM.If the AMIndicatoris
On',the timedisplayed isAM.If the AMindicatoris'Off',the timedisplayed is
PM.
2.)Depress the CLOCKbutton and the MINUTEbutton togethertoadjustthe
clock tothe correctminute,then releasethe buttons.
SETTINGTHEWAKEUPTIME
1.)Depress theALARMbutton and the HOUR button togethertoadjustthe clock
displaytothe correctwake-up hour,then releasethe buttons.Besuretoset

LISTENINGTORADIO
1.)Setthe BAND switchtothe desired band,AMorFM.
2.)Setthe VOLUMEcontroltoalowsetting.
3.)Slide the Powerswitchtothe 'ON'position.
4.)Usethe TUNINGcontroltoselectthe desired station.
5.)Adjustthe VOLUMEcontroltoacomfortablelevel.
6.)When you arefinished listening,slide the Powerswitchtothe 'OFF'position.
HintsForBetterReception
FM
The FMantenna isinside the powercord.Makesurethe powercordisfully
extended forbestreception.
AM
The AMantenna isinside the radiocabinet. If AMreception isunsatisfactory, try
rotating orrepositioning the cabinetuntil you find the position thatprovidesthe
bestreception forthatparticularstation.

WAKETORADIO
1.)Depress theALARM/RESETbutton.The displaywill change fromthe correct
timetowakeup time.Adjustthe wakeup timeasdescribed on page 7,if
necessary.
2.)Slide the Powerswitchtothe 'ON'position and selectthe station and the
volumelevelthatyou wanttohearwhen you wakeup.
3.) Slide the Power switch to the 'AUTO' position. The radio will turn off and the
AUTO indicator comes on.
4.) At the selected wake up time the radio will turn 'On' automatically. It will play
for 1 hour and 59 minutes and then shut off automatically and reset itself for
the following day.
5.) To stop the radio sooner press the ALARM/RESET button. The radio stops
immediately and the alarm resets itself for the following day. To cancel the
alarm completely slide the Power switch to the ‘OFF’ position. The AUTO
indicator goes off.
WAKETOBUZZERALARM
1.) Depress the ALARM button. The display will change from the correct time to
wake up time. Adjust the wake up time as described on page 7, if necessary.
2.) Slide the Power switch to the 'BUZZ' position. TheAUTO indicator comes on.
3.) At the selected wake up time an electronic buzzer alarm will turn 'On'
automatically. It will continue for 1 hour and 59 minutes and then shut off
automatically and reset itself for the following day.
4.) To stop the buzzer alarm sooner, press the ALARM/RESETbutton. The buzzer
stops immediately and the alarm resets itself for the following day. To cancel
the alarm completely slide the Power switch to the ‘OFF’ position. The AUTO
indicator goes off.

SNOOZE(REPEATALARM)
If you need afewextraminutessleep when the alarmcomeson inthe morning,
press the SNOOZEbutton.The alarmwill stop forapproximately9minutes,and
then turnon again.Thisoperation can be repeated severaltimesifnecessary.
SLEEP TOMUSICTIMER
The sleep tomusictimerallowsyou tofall asleep tomusicforup to1hourand 59
minutes,and then shutsthe radiooff automatically.
The sleep timercan be activated when the Powerswitchissettothe 'OFF','AUTO',
or'BUZZ'positions.
1.)Depress the SLEEP button tostartthe sleep timer.The displayindicates
"0:59"and the radioturns‘On’.
2.)Toadjustthe amountofsleep timeroperation,continue toholdthe SLEEP
button and depress the MINUTEbutton.The displaystartscounting down
from59 minutes.Releasethe MINUTEbutton when the displayshowsthe
desired minute.Toadd 1hour,continue toholdthe SLEEP button and press
the HOUR button once.
3.)When the desired amountofsleep timeappearson the display,releaseall
the buttons.The radiowill continue toplayuntil the sleep timercountsdown
to"0:00",and then the radioshutsoff automatically.
4.)Toshutoff the radioand cancelthe sleep timerbeforeitcountsdownto
"0:00",press the SNOOZEbutton.The radiostopsimmediately.
IMPORTANT:
Rememberthatthe station and volumesetting thatyou selectforsleep timer
operation arethe samesettingsyou will hearthe following morning ifyou have
the alarmsetfor'WAKE TORADIO'.

NIGHTLIGHT
Slide the NIGHT LIGHT switch to either the ‘LO’ or ‘HI’ position to turn on the
nightlight. Slide to the ‘OFF’ position to turn the nightlight off.
BULB REPLACEMENT
To change the bulb use a coin to turn the bulb holder clockwise slightly until it pops
up from the bottom cabinet. Remove the bulb holder and discard the old bulb.
Place the new bulb in the bulb holder and insert the bulb holder into the cabinet.
Turn counterclockwise slightly to lock it in place. See following illustration.

Note:If thereisno batteryinthe back-up batterycompartment, theTimeandAlarm
settingswill be lostwhen the powercordisdisconnected forcleaning.Reset
