General
Installation to Operate the
Ceiling Fan, Downlight
and Uplight
Your Emerson Ceiling Fan/Light Control
consists of either a hand-held transmitter
with wall caddy and/or a wall control as
well as a receiver which is mounted under
the fan ceiling cover. The wall control and
remote control are designed to control
your ceiling fan speed, airflow direction,
and light intensity.
IMPORTANT
It is important that you also follow the
instructions found in the Owner's
Manual supplied with your Ceiling Fan.
Pay particular attention to the Safety
Instructions and WARNING notes.
NOTE 1: On the CF4600 Series Ceiling
Fan, install the fan blades and switch
cup assembly in accordance with the
instructions in the ceiling fan owner’s
manual, then proceed with steps 1
through 10 below.
1. Remove the wire connectors from the
red and brown wires. Cut the white,
blue and black wires about 3" above
the motor coupling (Figure 1). Strip
insulation 1/2" from end of white, blue,
red and brown wires. Install a wire

the reversing switch. Remove the wire
connectors and separate these wires.
Using wire connectors, cap the red and
brown wires from the reversing switch;
these wires will not be used.
NOTE 3: If your ceiling fan does not
have a built-in uplight, these yellow
wires will not be present.
2. Remove the wire connector (Figure 1)
from the yellow wires (See NOTE 3).
Separate the yellow wires, and cap the
yellow wire coming from the motor
coupling.
NOTE 4: On early Model CF2400 Series
Ceiling Fans, cut the orange wire
midway between the motor coupling
and the housing (Figure 2). Cap the
orange wire from the motor coupling
using a wire connector. The orange
wire from the housing will get
connected to the uplight yellow wire in
Step 6.
3. Loosen the setscrew in the hanger ball,
slide the ball down the hanger pipe,
and remove the clevis pin. Then slide
the hanger ball off the hanger pipe

pin must go through the holes in the
motor coupling and the holes in the
hanger pipe (Figure 6). Push the
straight leg of the hairpin clip through
the hole near the end of the clevis pin
until the curved portion of the hairpin
clip snaps around the clevis pin. The
hairpin clip must be properly installed to
prevent the clevis pin from working
loose.
9. Install the setscrew (supplied in loose
parts bag supplied with ceiling fan) in
the motor coupling and tighten using
the 5/32" setscrew wrench (supplied
with ceiling fan) (Figure 6). A loose
setscrew could cause the fan to
wobble.
10. Screw the two threaded studs (select
the proper length stud as described in
the Ceiling Fan Owner’s Manual) into
the threaded holes in top of the motor.
(Figure 7). (Early motors have two
threaded brackets.) Coil the wires and

4. Push the wiring harness connector
(supplied with the SW375 receiver) and
the connectors on the blue wire
(supplied with the control) and yellow
wire (supplied with fans containing
built-in Uplights) through the hanger
pipe until they extend about 4" out of
the pipe (Figure 4).
5. Cut the harness wires approximately 3"
from the end of the pipe. Strip
insulation 1/2" from end of wires.
6. Using wiring connectors supplied,
connect the white, red, yellow, blue, and
brown wires of the wiring harness to the
white, red, yellow (orange wire for early
CF2400 Models), blue, and brown wires
of the ceiling fan (Figure 5). Wires must
be connected color-to-color.
It is critical that the clevis pin in the
motor coupling is properly installed and
the setscrew securely tightened. Failure
to verify that the pin is properly installed
could result in the fan falling.

FAN/LIGHT FAILS TO OPERATE
Make sure the Code Learning
Procedure has been performed (Pages
8 through 11).
• Check that the light switch on the light
fixture is on.
• Check that the battery is good (green
indicator light should light when any
button is pressed).

MULTIPLE FAN INSTALLATION USING
THE SR330 REMOTE CONTROL AND
SW350 WALL CONTROL.
When installing two or more fans on the
same electrical circuit with both using
either the SR330 or SW350 controls to
operate the fans separately perform the
following steps:
3. Install the second fan as directed in the
Owner’s Manual and perform the Code
Learning Procedure.
4. If all ceiling fan installations are
complete at this time, turn the power
back on to the first fan or reconnect the
power to the SW375 Receiver and both
fans will now operate independently.
5. If additional fans are to be installed,
continue to complete Step #2 until all
fans are installed.
USE OF SR330 REMOTE CONTROL IN
CONJUNCTION WITH SW350 WALL
CONTROL.
The SR330 Remote uses a LCD display
that shows the status of the fan, uplight,
and downlight. Each time any button is
pressed on the SR330 handheld, the
remote control sends all instructions to the
SW375 Fan Receiver. This means that the
remote control sends the fan, uplight,
downlight, fan speed, and fan direction
readings on the LCD display to the SW375
Receiver.
If any changes have been made to the fan
or light functions using the SW350 Wall
Control, those changes are not indicated
on the remote LCD display. When the
SR330 Remote Control buttons are
pressed, the fan and light functions
change to the LCD display settings.

increase or decrease the intensity of the
light. Press the Up/Down arrow buttons to
reach the desired intensity, then release
the button when satisfied. The bars on the

B. FAN ( ) Function
Your Emerson fan operates at six different
fan speeds (from low to high). When the
Fan On/Off button (See Figure 17) is
pressed for the first time, the fan will turn
on to high speed and the fan symbol will
light on the LCD panel. When the Fan
On/Off button is pressed again, the fan will
turn off.
To change the fan speed and airflow
direction, proceed as follows:
Press the Select button to change to fan
operation. The Fan symbol will glow on the
LCD panel and both the up and down light
symbols indicators will be off.
Once you have selected fan operation,
use the Up/Down arrow buttons to
increase the fan speed or decrease the
fan speed. (Each time the Up arrow button
is pushed the fan speed will increase by
one speed; each time the Down arrow
button is pushed the fan speed will
decrease by one speed). The bars on the
LCD panel next to the fan symbol will
either increase or decrease based on the
Up/Down arrow button pushed.
The receiver will always remember the last
speed setting of the fan when the Fan
On/Off button is pressed to turn the fan
back on. It will return to its pre-set level.
Press the Airflow button to reverse the
direction of the fan.
The Air UP or Air DN symbols will be lit on
the LCD panel indicating which direction
the fan is running. When the fan is
spinning counter clockwise the fan is in
“Summer” operation and when the fan is
spinning clockwise the fan is in “Winter”
operation.
C. SLEEP Function
Pressing the Sleep button will decrease
the fan speed by one speed every 60
minutes until the fan reaches its lowest
setting. The Sleep icon will be seen on the
LCD panel indicating Sleep mode. If the
fan is already on then it will decrease from
its current setting. If the fan is off, it will
start from fan setting "3" (medium) and
decrease from there.
Once the Sleep function is activated, the
fan speed can be increased or lowered
using the Up/Down Arrow buttons without
disabling the Sleep function. The fan will
continue to decrease by one speed every
60 minutes until the fan is on low speed.
To cancel the Sleep function, press the
Fan On/Off button to turn the fan off.
D. WINTER Mode
When the Winter button is pressed the fan
will go in the clockwise direction and run at
low speed. The Winter icon will be lit on
the LCD display. Every ten minutes the fan
will turn up to high speed for three
seconds and then return to low speed.
This helps push warm air down from the
ceiling to reduce heating costs.
The lights can be turned on or off or
changed at any time without canceling the
winter function.
To cancel the Winter function, press the
Fan On/Off button
E. SECURITY Function
When the Security button is pressed the
lights will flash once and then come to full
brightness. The Security icon will be
displayed on the LCD panel. The lights will
remain on for a random period between 8
and 63 minutes. At that time the lights will
turn off for a period between 8 and 63
minutes. This process will repeat itself
indefinitely.
To cancel the Security function, press the
Light On/Off button.
