Direct access (0106)

Write access Maintenance
Prerequisite Only visible for operation via display module, not for operation via software tool (e.g.
FieldCare).
Description Enter the direct access code to access a parameter directly.
Input range 0 to 65 535
Additional information In this document, the direct access code is indicated in brackets following the parameter
name, e.g. Locking status (0004).
Locking status (0004)
Navigation Expert → Locking status
Write access Read-only parameter
Description Indicates the write protection with the highest priority that is currently active.
Display options • Hardware locked
• WHG locked
• Temporarily locked
Additional information On the display module, the -symbol appears in front of parameters that cannot be
modified since they are write-protected.
Access status display (0091)
Navigation Expert → Access status display

Write access Read-only parameter
Prerequisite Only visible for devices with operating and display module (SD02 or SD03)
Description Indicates access authorization to parameters via local display.

Additional information • The access authorization can be changed via the Enter access code parameter
(→  19).
• If additional write protection is active, this restricts the current access authorization
even further. The write protection status can be viewed via the Locking status
parameter (→  18).
• If a -symbol appears in front of a parameter, the parameter cannot be changed via
the local display with the current access authorization.

Additional information For local operation, the customer-specific access code, which has been defined in the
Expert → System → Define access code sequence, has to be entered.
If an incorrect access code is entered, the user retains his current access authorization.
The write protection affects all parameters marked with the -symbol in the document.
On the local display, the -symbol in front of a parameter indicates that the parameter is
write-protected.
If no key is pressed for 10 minutes, or the user goes from the navigation and editing mode
back to the measured value display mode, the device automatically locks the write-
protected parameters after another 60 s.
