The ENERAC Model 700 is an ex remely versa ile emissions measuremen sys em
ha mee s prac ically all emissions requiremen s. I has been designed as a
modular sys em, permi ing he ins alla ion, in he field, of mos of he various
available op ions. This manual describes he comple e ins rumen s equipped wi h
all he op ions.
O ENERAC modelo 700 e um sis ema medidor de emissoes ex remamen e

S andard capabili ies include ambien and s ack empera ure measuremen s,
oxygen, carbon monoxide and draf measuremen s, over 100 in ernal s orage
buffers serial communica ions, and ex ensive help-screens. The varie y of available
op ions are separa ed in o hree ca egories:

FUNDAMENTALS
The ENERAC Model 700 In egra ed Emissions Sys em is hand held s a e of he ar
analyzer designed o measure, record and ransmi remo ely combus ion
parame ers used for he following asks:

sources by means of high quali y proprie ary elec rochemical sensors (SEM)
in accordance wi h he EPA Provisional Reference Me hod (EMTIC CTM-
022, CTM-030, & CTM-034) for por able NOX analyzers. Medicao de

EPA’s Reference Method 25B Appendix A 40CFR60 “Determination of
Total Gaseous Organic Concentration Using a Nondispersive Infrared

SEM sensor is available wi h ei her one of wo Precision Con rol Modules (PCMs),
whose func ion is o selec he measuremen range ( he ENERAC’s analy ical
range is divided in o low, mid and high ranges) ha is appropria e for a par icular
measuremen .

The ins rumen opera es basically as follows:

You inser he probe in he s ack of an opera ing combus ion source such as a
boiler, furnace or combus ion engine. A pump loca ed inside he ins rumen draws
a small sample of he s ack gas. The sample is condi ioned before en ering he
analyzer. A number of sensors analyze he con en s of he s ack gas and i s
empera ure and calcula e and display he resul s. In addi ion, an S ype pi o ube
measures he veloci y of he s ack gases. The resul s can also be prin ed, s ored or
sen remo ely o ano her compu er ei her using he Blue oo h op ion or using i s
in ernal modem and a elephone line. The source opera or makes he required
adjus men s based on he analysis of he s ack condi ions o op imize performance.

B. ENERAC MODEL 700 STARTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove he ins rumen from i s case and connec he hermo-elec ric cooler
and probe o he uni . Or, if you have a permea ion ype probe, connec he
permea ion ype probe o he ins rumen .

2. Make sure he ins rumen is in a clean-air, room- empera ure environmen
and urn i on. If you have a problem wi h he display ini ializing, please
RESET he uni .

Ligue e caso haja problemas duran e a inicializacao use o bo ao RESET.
3. The ins rumen has six elec rochemical sensors, hree infrared sensors ( his
is an op ion) and hree empera ure sensors.

6. IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE INFRARED OPTION, you can bypass an

par icular sensor, con ac he fac ory. The ins rumen will measure correc ly
all sensors ha do no show an error message.

8. The LOW RANGE mode is he s andard se ing. In LOW RANGE mode,
maximum concen ra ions are ypically 2000 PPM for CO & NO, and 1000
PPM for NO
2
& SO
2
. If any of hese parame ers read OVER on he display,
you mus wi hdraw he probe from he s ack immedia ely o preven sensor
sa ura ion.

D. IMPORTANT ADVICE
IMPORTANTE CONSELHO
Mos s ack gases are ho , full of mois ure, corrosive and laden wi h soo par icles.
A maior par e dos gases sao quen es, cheios de humidade,corrosives.
To make sure ha your ins rumen will give you a long ime of rouble-free
performance, please observe he following recommenda ions.
Para que o ins rumen de um longo period de rabalho con inuo, por favor siga as
seguin es recomendacoes
1. Follow he ins ruc ions in your manual. – Siga as ins rucoes do manual
2. Never use he ins rumen wi hou he fiber fil er loca ed inline wi h he
hermoelec ric cooler or inside he permea ion-drier probe. Opera ing he
ins rumen wi hou he fil er will damage he pump and sensors. (This is a
cos ly replacemen !)
Numca use o ins rumen sem o fil ro de fibras locvlizado jun o do

3. Preven mois ure from en ering he analyzer. If he elec rochemical

au ozero successfully. Once dried, ypically overnigh , he
elec rochemical sensors will usually recover. However, he NDIR op ics
will probably require cleaning, a he fac ory.

7. Always be sure o use single span gas mix ures preferably wi h balance
ni rogen when calibra ing he sensors. Never use CO/NO or CO/SO
2
span
gas blends!
