MAINS VOLTAGE HIGH POWER LED FLOODLIGHTS
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION
LEAVE A COPY FOR THE USER / MAINTENANCE ENGINEER FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION
• Installation should be carried out in accordance with the latest edition of the National Wiring Regulations. If in doubt, consult a
qualified electrician.
• Input voltage - 240V 50Hz AC.
• These luminaires are not dimmable.
• These luminaires are IP65 and are protected against low pressure water jets.
• Powder coated luminaires are corrosion resistant but the finish may degrade in the long term if installed in coastal areas.
• Do not install in chlorinated areas, i.e. swimming pools. Do not install in saunas or steam rooms.
• There are no serviceable parts in these luminaires.
• Caution: Do not stare directly into the LEDs in operation. These are high power LED floodlights and may be harmful to eyes.
• These luminaires are Class 1 and must be earthed
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
LUMINAIRES WITHOUT PASSIVE INFA-RED MOVEMENT DETECTOR
Always switch off the electricity supply at the distribution board before installation and maintenance
1. Select the required position for the luminaire. When installing ground mounted floodlights or spotlights do not install in areas
that are subject to flooding and standing water.
2. Place the bracket in a suitable position and mark out the two holes before drilling. The guide below indicates what the distance
should be between fixing holes.
• EN-FL10PIRA = 60MM
• EN-FL30PIRA = 105MM
• EN-FL50PIRA = 105MM
3. Use a suitable IP rated junction box to connect to the mains supply.
Mains supply LIVE (Red or Brown) - to Luminaire Terminal marked ‘L’ (Brown)
Mains supply NEUTRAL (Black or Blue) - to Luminaire Terminal marked ‘N’ (Blue)
Mains supply EARTH (Green/Yellow) - to Luminaire terminal marked ‘E’ (Green/Yellow)
4. Switch on the power supply.
LUMINAIRES WITH PASSIVE INFA-RED MOVEMENT DETECTOR
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
• The lamp switches on when the detector senses "warmth movement" in the surrounding area if it is dark enough.
• The PIR detector is equipped with three adjustment knobs. See Fig. 1.
Time Adjustment
For 10W,30W & 50W Versions
• The period that the lamp stays on after no more movement is detected can be adjusted between 10 ±3secs to 7±2mins.
• Turn clockwise to increase the on period and vice versa.
Daylight Adjustment
For 10W,30W & 50W Versions
• The level of illuminance at which the PIR detector can be activated so that it can detect movement can be adjusted between 3
and 2000 Lux. When adjusting to “Sun” mode the movement sensor works all day. When adjusted to “Moon” mode, the movement
sensor does not work during the day time and will automatically work at night.
• Turn clockwise to increase the lighting value and vice versa.
Sensitivity Adjustment
For 30W & 50W Versions
• The sensitivity of the detector can be adjusted according to the use of the location. Detection range can be adjusted from low
sensitivity (3m) to high sensitivity (6m). Turn clockwise to increase the sensitivity and vice versa.
FIELD OF DETECTION
The field of detection of the PIR sensor can be adjusted 180° in the horizontal and vertical directions. By means of horizontal adjustment
the permanent 180° field of detection range can be reduced or expanded. See Fig. 2. By means of vertical adjustment the detection range
e

can be reduced or expanded. See Fig. 3. In this way false detection caused by movement in neighboring areas can be excluded. The
best detection is achieved by approaching the field of detection perpendicular to its axis. See Fig. 4. If the field of detection is approached
in the direction of its axis, the detector will, in some instances, respond later. See Fig. 5.
POSSIBLE DETECTION PROBLEMS
A nearby discharge of hot air (from an air conditioner etc.), passing cars, nearby trees and bushes, sudden changes in temperature or
gusts of wind can cause the lamp to switch on when not required. The PIR detector may not work satisfactorily if it is placed in such a way
that the field of detection is not walked through. If the temperature difference between the object to be detected and the surrounding area
is too small (e.g. in the summer) then the detector may respond later. For example the detection range may be 5 meters rather than 6
meters. If electromagnetic interference from nearby equipment is strong the lamp may switch on unintentionally.
INSTALLATION
• Fix the luminaire out of reach (2.5m) with 2 screws of the appropriate size.
• Connect the mains supply cable to the terminals as follows:
LIVE - (red or brown) to terminal marked L.
NEUTRAL - (black or blue) to terminal marked N.
EARTH - (green/yellow) to terminal marked E
• The luminaire must be earthed.
Sensitivity Time Daylight (LUX)
