Episode Powered Soundbar IR Control Protocol
Overview
This protocol provides the information required to control an ES-PWR-SNDBR-180-BLK via IR through a
connected IR receiver or automation system. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure that IR functions at
the highest level and does not cause damage to the soundbar or other components.
IR Applications
In-Room IR Receiver with IR Remote and IR Repeater
To control the soundbar with an in-room IR remote (commands transmit directly from the remote):
1. Connect an IR receiver via IR repeater. Position the receiver so that commands are received
reliably.
2. Connect the IR repeater to the IR In port on the soundbar with a 3.5 mm mono mini cable.
3. Control additional equipment by attaching an IR flasher to the IR Out port of the repeater.

Programmed Automation Controller
To control the soundbar with a control system:
1. Connect an IR receiver to the control system. Position the receiver so that commands are
received reliably.
2. Connect a 3.5 mm mono mini cable from the flasher output of the controller to the IR In port on
the soundbar.
3. Program the control system using the IR control protocol.
IR Codes
• Device address: 0x10EF
• The device address is 16 bit
• Based on NEC standard protocol with 8 ms on, 4.5ms o start bit
• Commands are standard 8 bit + 8 bit inverted (256 possible) with LSB first
