Safety Precautions
This section presents important information intended to ensure safe
and effective use of this product. Please read this section carefully and
store it in an accessible location.
WARNING:
Shut down your equipment immediately if it produces smoke, a strange
odor, or unusual noise. Continued use may lead to fire. Immediately
unplug the equipment and contact your dealer or a Seiko Epson service
center for advice.
Never attempt to repair this product yourself. Improper repair work can
be dangerous.
Never disassemble or modify this product. Tampering with this product
may result in injury or fire.
Be sure to use the specified power source (EPSON AC Adapter. C,
Model number: M235A). Connection to an improper power source may
cause fire.
Do not allow foreign matter to fall into the equipment. Penetration by
foreign objects may lead to fire.
If water or other liquid spills into this equipment, unplug the power cord
immediately, and then contact your dealer or a Seiko Epson service
center for advice. Continued usage may lead to fire.
Do not use aerosol sprayers containing flammable gas inside or around
this product. Doing so may cause fire.
CAUTION:
Be sure to set this equipment on a firm, stable, horizontal surface. The
product may break or cause injury if it falls.
Do not use in locations subject to high humidity or dust levels. Excessive
humidity and dust may cause equipment damage or fire.
Do not place heavy objects on top of this product. Never stand or lean
on this product. Equipment may fall or collapse, causing breakage and
possible injury.
Take care not to injure your fingers on the manual cutter
• When you remove printed paper
• When you perform other operations such as loading/replacing
roll paper
Do not pull out roll paper while the printer cover is closed. Doing so may
cause a breakdown.

To ensure safety, unplug this product before leaving it unused for an
extended period. When moving this product, make sure to unplug the
power cable and all other wires.
Restriction of Use
When this product is used for applications requiring high reliability/
safety, such as transportation devices related to aviation, rail, marine,
automotive, etc.; disaster prevention devices; various safety devices,
etc.; or functional/precision devices, etc.; you should use this product
only after giving consideration to including fail-safes and
redundancies into your design to maintain safety and total system
reliability. Because this product was not intended for use in
applications requiring extremely high reliability/safety, such as
aerospace equipment, main communication equipment, nuclear power
control equipment, or medical equipment related to direct medical
care, etc., please make your own judgment on this product’s suitability
after a full evaluation.

The caution label on the product indicates the following precaution.
CAUTION:
The thermal head is hot when in use or right after use. Touching the
thermal head may cause a burn. Wait until the head is cool enough
before cleaning, etc.

Installing the Printer
You can install the printer only horizontally.
How to Open the Printer Cover
Raise the cover open lever to open the printer cover.
How to Close the Printer Cover
Hold down the central part of the cover to close the printer cover.
Installing Roll Paper
CAUTION:
Use only the specified paper. Using paper other than those designated
as Original Epson Products may affect the print results or may cause a
breakdown.
Specified original paper: TF50KS-E, P350, PD150R/160R, F5041, KF50
1. Open the printer cover. (Refer to “How to Open the Printer Cover”
on page 7.)
2. Remove any used roll paper core.

3. Refer to the figure below, and set the roll paper in the correct
direction.
4. Pull out a small amount of the roll paper and close the printer
cover. (Refer to “How to Close the Printer Cover” on page 7.)
5. Cut off the excess paper.

Setting the Memory Switch
With Memory switch, you can set the following:
❏Selecting the transmission speed (serial interface only): 9600bps
(default)/19200bps
❏Selecting darkness/lightness of the print results (only available at
the print speed of 70 mm/s): 100% (default)/110%
❏Selecting print speed: 100 mm/s (default)/70 mm/s
To set the memory switch, follow the steps below.
1. Open the printer cover and turn ON the printer while pressing the
FEED button.
2. Press the FEED button twice and close the printer cover.
3. Setting items and operation method will be printed. To set the
memory switch, follow the instruction.
4. When the initial setting is complete, the settings are saved and the
printer is initialized.
5. The printer is ready to print once the initialization is complete.
Note:
The print speed of raster bit image and barcode cannot be set to 100mm/s.
Cleaning the Thermal Head
To ensure print quality of receipts, periodical maintenance on the
thermal head is recommended (once every 3 months).
CAUTION:
After printing, the thermal head can be very hot. Be careful not to
touch it and to let it cool before you clean it. Do not damage the
thermal head by touching it with your fingers or any hard object.

Turn off the printer, open the printer cover, and clean the thermal
elements (thin black lines) of the thermal head with a cotton swab
moistened with an alcohol solvent (ethanol or IPA).
Troubleshooting
No lights on the control panel
Check the power supply cable connections and the power outlet.
ERROR LED on (not flashing) with no printing
Either one of the following is the cause.
❏Roll paper is not set.
❏Roll paper is finished.
❏The printer cover is not closed properly.
ERROR LED flashing with no printing (and no paper jam)
Printing stops if the head overheats and resumes automatically when it
cools.
If printing is not resumed, turn the printer off, and after 10 seconds, back
on.
Unclear printing result
The thermal head is dirty. Clean the thermal head. (Refer to “Cleaning the
Thermal Head.”)

Removing Jammed Paper
CAUTION:
Do not touch the thermal head because it can be very hot after
printing.
1. Turn the printer off and press the cover open button.
2. Remove jammed paper, reinstall the roll, and close the cover.

Perhatian Keselamatan

Jangan menarik keluar kertas gulung saat tutup printer tertutup. Jika
dilakukan bisa berakibat pecah.
Untuk memastikan keselamatan, cabut produk ini sebelum
meninggalkan dalam keadaan tidak terpakai untuk periode yang
lama. Saat memindahkan produk ini, pastikan untuk mencabut kabel
daya dan semua kabel lainnya.
Batasan Penggunaan
Saat produk ini digunakan untuk aplikasi yang memerlukan
keandalan/keselamatan tinggi seperti alat transportasi yang terkait
dengan penerbangan, kereta api, laut, atau otomotif dll.; alat
penanggulangan bencana; beragam alat keselamatan dll.; atau alat
fungsional/presisi dll., Anda harus menggunakan produk ini hanya
setelah mempertimbangkan penyertaan keselamatan-kegagalan dan

Memasang Printer
Anda dapat memasang printer ini hanya dengan horisontal.
Cara Membuka Tutup Printer
Angkat pengungkit pembuka tutup untuk membuka tutup printer.
Cara Menutup Tutup Printer
Tahan bagian tengah tutup untuk menutup tutup printer.
Memasang Kertas Gulung
PERHATIAN:
Gunakan hanya kertas khusus. Menggunakan kertas selain yang
ditunjuk sebagai Produk Epson Asli bisa berakibat pada hasil cetakan
atau bisa menyebabkan pecah.
Kertas asli khusus: TF50KS-E, P350, PD150R/160R, F5041, KF50
1. Buka tutup printer. (Mengacu “Cara Membuka Tutup Printer”
pada halaman 17.)
2. Buang bagian tengah kertas gulung.

3. Mengaculah pada gambar di bawah, dan atur kertas gulung
dengan arah yang benar.
4. Tarik sedikit kertas gulung dan tutup penutup printer. (Mengacu
“Cara Membuka Tutup Printer” pada halaman 17.)
5. Potong kertas yang berlebih.

Mengatur Sakelar Memori
Dengan sakelar memori, Anda dapat mengatur berikut:
❏Memilih kecepatan transmisi (hanya antarmuka seri): 9600bps
(awal)/19200bps
❏Memilih kegelapan/kecerahan hasil printer (hanya tersedia pada
kecepatan cetak 70 mm/dtk): 100% (awal)/110%
❏Memilih kecepatan cetak: 100 mm/dtk (awal)/70 mm/dtk
Untuk mengatur sakelar memori, ikuti langkah-langkah di bawah.
1. Buka tutup printer dan NYALAKAN printer saat sambil menekan
tombol FEED (Umpan).
2. Tekan tombol FEED (Umpan) dua kali dan tutup penutup printer.
3. Item pengaturan dan metode operasi akan dicetak. Untuk
mengatur sakelar memori, ikuti instruksinya.
4. Saat pengaturan awal selesai, pengaturan disimpan dan printer
diberi inisial.
5. Printer siap untuk mencetak setelah inisialisasi selesai.
Catatan:
Kecepatan cetak gambar bit raster dan kode bar tidak dapat diatur ke
100mm/dtk.
Membersihkan Head Termal
Untuk memastikan kualitas cetak tanda terima, pemeliharaan berkala
pada head termal direkomendasikan (sekali setiap 3 bulan).
PERHATIAN:
Setelah mencetak, head termal bisa menjadi sangat panas. Berhati-
hatilah untuk tidak menyentuhnya dan biarkan dingin sebelum Anda
membersihkannya. Jangan merusak head termal dengan
menyentuhnya dengan jari Anda atau benda keras lainnya.

Matikan printer, buka tutup printer, dan bersihkan elemen termal pada
head termal dengan kapas pengelap yang dibasahi dengan cairan
alkohol (etanol atau IPA).
Pemecahan masalah
Kontrol panel tidak menyala
Periksa sambungan kabel pemasok daya dan keluaran daya.
LED ERROR (Kesalahan) nyala (tidak berkedip) dengan tidak ada
pencetakan
Mungkin salah satu kondisi berikut adalah penyebabnya.
❏Kertas gulung tidak diatur.
❏Kertas gulung habis.
❏Tutup printer tidak ditutup dengan benar.
LED ERROR (Kesalahan) berkedip tanpa pencetakan (dan tidak ada
kertas macet)
Pencetakan berhenti jika head terlalu panas dan mulai lagi secara otomatis
saat dingin.
Jika pencetakan tidak mulai lagi, matikan printer, dan nyalakan kembali
setelah 10 detik.
Hasil cetakan tidak tidak jelas
Head termal kotor. Membersihkan head termal (Mengaculah pada
“Membersihkan Head Termal”)
