This assem ly and user guide is an important part of the
delivery and is aimed at those personnel who will e fitting,
operating or servicing the machine. The instructions include
information a out the product and its safe use.

 Rated input is reached only at nominal voltage.
A lower deviation will reduce the nominal load.
 FA 121 for usage as skylight motor in connection with several
skylight fittings, e.g. GEZE OL90 or similar as well as louver
windows in residential and industrial areas.

nicht estimmungsgemäß.
Für Schäden, die durch andere Verwendung entstehen, haftet
Fa. esco nicht. Die Gewährleistung erlischt dadurch.

Any other use or additional use is classed as incorrect.

Beschreibung des Antriebs
Der Elektroantrie FA121 ist zum Einsatz in trockenen Räumen
estimmt mit einer maximal zulässigen Umge ungstemperatur
von +50°C.
• Der Ein au kann sowohl in horizontaler als auch in vertikaler
Lage erfolgen.
• Der Antrie ist umsteuer ar.

Description of the motor
The FA121 electric drive is designed for use in dry areas in a
maximum admissi le am ient temperature of +50°C.
• The motor can e installed either horizontally or vertically.
• The motor is reversi le.
• Integrated electrical end-stop.
• Window tightness via pulling force of the motor.
• Controlled via external switches for single and group control.
According to the profile geometry, there are several assem ly

Gefahr von Zerstörung des Antriebs
Die integrierte Elektronik stoppt den Antrieb beim

in eingebautem Zustand nicht mehr zu erkennen.

Danger of irreparable damage to motor
The integrated electronic unit stops the motor hen
opening and closing the indo at the prespecified limit
points.
An overload protection is active bet een the limit stops.
 Do not use the overload protection to switch off the
motor regularly.
Otherwise the protection element will e destroyed.

Use the adjusting screws on the drive.

Gefahr
Personen- und Sachschäden durch unsachgemäßen
insatz
Stellen Sie mit Hilfe des Typenschildes am Antrieb und
den in Abschnitt 3 aufgeführten Technischen Daten
sicher, dass Sie den für ihre Einbausituation richtigen
Antrieb vorliegen haben.
 Untersuchen Sie die Lieferung sofort nach Erhalt auf etwaige
Transportschäden. Bei Beschädigungen dürfen Sie den Antrie
nicht montieren.
4 Preparing for assembly

Injury to persons and property due to incorrect
installation
Use the data plate on the motor and the technical data in
chapter 3 to ensure that you have the correct motor for
your installation purposes.
 Check the delivery immediately on receipt for damage caused in
transit. You must not install the motor if it is damaged.
5 Montage mechanisch

Nur geschulte, sachkundige Personen dürfen die
Montage vornehmen.

Beim automatischen Öffnen oder Schließen des
Fensters entstehen Zug- und Druckkräfte bis zu 1500N
je Antrieb. Diese Kräfte können beim Hineingreifen
z ischen Flügel und Rahmen Gliedmaßen
abquetschen. Insbesondere, da der Antrieb iederholt
versucht den Hub zu beenden.
 Greifen Sie nicht zwischen Flügel und Rahmen,
wenn der Antrie läuft.
 Sichern Sie ei einer Ein aulage des
Fensterflügels unter 2,50 m alle Quetsch- und

5 Assembly (mechanical)

Traction and pressure forces of up to 1500N for each
motor are produced hen the indo is opened or
closed automatically. These forces could cause limbs to
be crushed if persons reach bet een the indo and
the frame. Particularly because the motor repeatedly
attempts to finish the stroke.
 Do not reach etween the window and the frame
when the motor is running.
 For window installation openings of less than 2.50
m, secure all crushing and shearing points against
inadvertent reaching. See information sheet VFF
KB.01: powered windows.

If fitting to existing indo s be a are that a sudden
opening of the indo can cause injury.
 Use appropriate safety equipment, e.g. a safety

Hinweis
Material des Fensterprofils
Abhängig von der von Ihnen bestellten Variante ird
dem Antrieb die passende Befestigungsgarnitur für
Aluminium-Profilsysteme beigepackt.
Fensterprofile aus Holz oder Kunststoff erfordern andere
Befestigungsgarnituren.
Bitte nehmen Sie in diesem Fall mit uns Kontakt auf.
 Kontrollieren Sie die erforderlichen Mindesta stände.
 Führen Sie eine Funktionsprüfung durch.
Verwenden Sie dazu das passende esco Prüfka el.
 Bringen Sie den eigefügten Aufkle er

6 Installation (ele trisch)

Die bauseitige Elektroinstallation darf nur eine
zugelassene Elektrofachkraft vornehmen.
 Beachten Sie für die auseitige Elektroinstallation
die VDE-Vorschriften und die Vorschriften des
örtlichen Netz etrei ers.
 Schalten Sie alle stromführenden Teile frei, evor
Sie Ar eiten an der Installation oder der Steuerung
ausführen.

Quetsch- und Verletzungsgefahr
 Beachten Sie die entsprechenden
Sicherheitshinweise.
Durch automatisch schließende Fenster oder durch
unbeabsichtigtes Betätigen der Steuerung kann es zu
Verletzungen kommen.
 Treffen Sie entsprechende Maßnahmen gemäß
„Merk latt des VFF KB.01: Kraft etätigte Fenster“,
z.B. Sicherung der Schalter gegen
un ea sichtigtes Einschalten.

Der Antrieb benötigt einen 230V AC-Anschluss.
 Schließen Sie den Antrie entsprechend an.
 Verlegen Sie das Antrie s-Anschlusska el nicht
zusammen mit einer Netzleitung.
Für den Anschluss des Antrie s ist ein vieradriges flexi les
Anschlusska el erforderlich
(siehe Kapitel 3„Technische Daten“).
 Beachten Sie den elektrischen Anschlussplan in Kapitel 13.
 Verwenden Sie Ka ellängen, Ka elarten und Ka elquerschnitte
entsprechend den Anga en des Anschlussplans und den
„Technischen Daten“.
 Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Ka el im Betrie nicht a scheren,
a knicken oder sich verdrehen.
 A zweigdosen müssen für Wartungsar eiten zugänglich sein.

Window profile material
Depending on the variant you have ordered the motor
ill be supplied ith a fittings kit for aluminium profile
systems.
Wood or plastic indo profiles require a different fittings
kit.
Please contact us in this case.
 Check the required minimum distances
 Check all functions.
Use the correct esco testing device.
 Attach the “Danger, risk of crushing!” sticker provided.
6 Installation (electric)
Danger
Danger of electric shock
The customer’s electrical installation must be carried out
by an authorised electrician.
 O serve the VDE directives for the customer’s
electrical installation as well as those of the local
network operator.
 Disconnect all live parts from the electricity supply
e- fore working on the installation or control of the
system.

 Follow the relevant safety instructions.
Automatically closing indo s or inadvertent actuation
of the controller can cause injuries.
 Apply measures according to information sheet
VFF KB.01: powered windows, i.e. secure the
switches against inadvertent actuation.

The motor requires a 230V AC connection.
 Wire the motor accordingly.
 Do not lay the motor connector ca le alongside a
power ca le.
The motor is connected with a four-core connector ca le
(see chapter 3“Technical data”).
 Follow the connection diagram in chapter 13.
 Use the ca le lengths, types and cross sections specified in the
connection diagram and “Technical data”.
 Ensure that the ca les cannot e sheared, kinked or twisted once
in operation.

Quetschgefahr
Gefahr von Quetsch- und Scherstellen an den
Schließkanten des Fensters.
Beim automatischen Öffnen oder Schließen des
Fensters entstehen Zug- und Druckkräfte größer 1500N.
Diese Kräfte können beim Hineingreifen z ischen Flügel
und Rahmen Gliedmaßen abquetschen.
 Halten Sie Kinder, ehinderte Personen oder Tiere
von dem Fenster fern.
 Greifen Sie nicht zwischen Flügel und Rahmen,
wenn der Antrie läuft.
 Informieren Sie sich ü er die Bedienung von
eventuell vorhandenen Schutzeinrichtungen.
Betrieb mit einem „Totmanntaster“
 Bei Betrie mit einer „Totmannschaltung“ (Tipp-
taster) muss eine Bestromung is zum Ende des
Schließvorgangs erfolgen.
7 Operation/Control
Danger
Danger of crushing
Danger from crushing and sheering points on indo ’s
closing edges.
Traction and pressure forces greater than 1500N are
produced hen the indo is opened or closed
automatically. These forces could cause limbs to be
crushed if persons reach bet een the indo and the
frame.
 Keep children, disa led persons and animals away
from the window.
 Do not reach etween the window and the frame
when the motor is running.
 Familiarise yourself with the use of any necessary
safety equipment.
Operated by a “Dead man’s control”
 If a “Dead man’s control” (push utton) is used, the
utton has to e pushed until the end of the closing
operation.
8 Wartung und Pflege
Um einen störungsfreien Betrie zu gewährleisten, müssen Sie
die folgenden Ar eiten alle 1000 Öffnungszyklen oder
wenigstens einmal im Jahr durchführen:
 Den Motor und alle Bedienelemente sowie die angeschlossenen
Beschlagteile von Verunreinigungen efreien.
Verwenden Sie keinesfalls Laugen oder Säuren zum Reinigen.
 Prüfen Sie alle Schrau en auf festen Sitz und ziehen Sie diese
nach, falls notwendig.
 Kontrollieren Sie den optimalen Sitz des Fensterflügels im
Fensterrahmen. Justieren Sie die Befestigungsgarnitur
entsprechend.
 Kontrollieren Sie alle Teile auf Beschädigungen und Verschleiß.
Tauschen Sie, falls erforderlich, die Teile aus.
 Alle Anlagenfunktionen durch Pro elauf testen.
 Empfehlenswert ist hierfür ein Wartungsvertrag.
8 Maintenance and care
Carry out the following maintenance tasks every 1000 opening
cycles or at least once a year to ensure pro lem-free operation.
 Clean the motor, control elements and connected fittings.
Never use alkaline or acid solutions to clean the windows.
 Check all screw fastenings are firmly seated and retighten if
necessary.
 Check that the casement is sitting snugly in the frame. Adjust the
fittings accordingly.
 Check all parts for damage and wear. Replace parts if necessary.
 Su sequently, test all system functions in a trial run.
 We would therefore recommend contracting a maintenance
agreement.
9 Hilfe bei Störungen
 Die Reparatur eines defekten Antrie s ist eim Weiterverar eiter
oder eim Endanwender nicht sachgerecht möglich und daher
nicht zulässig. Eine Reparatur kann nur im Herstellerwerk
durchgeführt werden. Falls Sie den Antrie öffnen oder ihn
manipulieren erlischt der Garantieanspruch.
 Tauschen Sie daher einen defekten Antrie aus und lassen Sie ihn
im Herstellerwerk reparieren.
 Falls der Antrie stehen lei t, prüfen Sie itte, o der
Ü erlastschutz aktiviert wurde. (Antrie steht und Kontrolllampe
leuchtet).In diesem Fall den Antrie itte a kühlen lassen.
 Reagiert der Antrie nicht auf die Bedienung des Schalters/
Tasters, lassen Sie itte die elektrische Versorgung durch eine
Fachkraft ü erprüfen.
9 Troubleshooting
 A defective motor cannot actually e repaired y a fitter or end
user and this is therefore impermissi le. Repairs must e carried
out at the manufacturer’s premises. The warranty is void in the
event that you open or tamper with the motor.
 Therefore, replace defective motors and return them for repair to
the manufacturers premises.
 If the motor stops please check whether the load safety cut-out has
een triggered. (Motor stops and control lamp is illuminating) In
this case please let the motor cool down.
 If the motor fails to respond when switched on, please have the
electricity supply checked y an electrician.

The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects which
occur during normal use.
