1 Operation of the XPS Crystal Touch Software
This software is designed for a touch-sensitive screen.
1.1 Start UV exposure
1 Select plate
2 Press the start button –exposure starts immediately
3 The remaining time is shown in the progress display

The end of the exposure is shown. The removal of the plate from the XPS Crystal must be
confirmed (4).
1.2 Stop UV exposure
Exposure can be stopped at any time:
In this case, the plate is not exposed to UV fully and evenly!

1.3 Add new plate types
1 Switch to the options menu
2 Select "Manage Plates"
3 Select the "Add" field

4 Select the plate manufacturer
5 Select the plate type
6 In long lists, the fields can be scrolled upwards and downwards
7 "OK" adds the plate to the active plate list

4 Delete the plate type with "Remove"

4 Change the value to the select relief in the "Relief" field

Copy the plate database file to the main folder on a USB stick.

3 Select "Update Platelist"
4 Follow the instructions and then insert the USB stick

5 When a valid file is found, the currently installed and new version are displayed
6 The database is updated with "OK"
7 In the info window the new installed plates are displayed –press "OK" to continue
8 Press "OK" to close the import procedure

1.7 Check back exposure "Check Floor"
1 Select in the options menu
2 Select "Check Floor Height"
3 Select plate
4 Tap "Expose Test Plate"

5 As outlined on the screen, a part of the black layer of the Flexo Plate is removed.
6 "UV Back Energy": the energy of the back exposure can be changed here, if necessary
7 Tap "Expose Test Plate" –the plate is exposed
8 Once the plate has been developed, select again
9 Start "Measure Test Plate"

10 Measure the plate thickness in the position in which the layer of the Flexo Plate was
previously removed.
11 Enter the measured value
12 Confirm the value with "Enter"
13 Measure the "Floor" thickness, tap the corresponding number and enter the values
14 The values are saved with "Finish"

1.8 Shut down XPS Crystal
1 Select in the options menu
2 The system is shut down with "Switch OFF"
Shutting down may take some time. Press the main switch only after the operating
system has shut down completely.

2 Changing the basic settings
Basic settings such as language, units and time are changed under "Preferences". These
settings usually only need to be implemented once after commissioning.
2.1 Change language
1 Select in the options menu
2 Select "Preferences"
3 Select language –the change will become active following a restart

1 Select in the options menu
2 Select "Preferences"
3 Activate "Show Clock"
4 Following a restart of the XPS, the time is shown at the top right

1 Select in the options menu

4 The values are changed with the arrows to the right of the number
5 "24 Hours" switches between 12 hour and 24 hour display
6 Set the date
7 Set the time
8 The values are accepted and changed in the operating system with "Save"
