Important Safeguards
READ BEFORE USING YOUR HUMIDIFIER
1) This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized 120-volt AC, 15 amp outlet, only one way. If the plug does
not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. If an
extension cord must be used, it should also accept the wide blade plug
and meet this electrical rating.
2) Do not place the cord under rugs, in traffic areas, or near heat sources.
3) Do not use the humidifier if the cord is damaged.
4) Always unplug the power cord before filling, cleaning,
servicing, or when the unit is not in use.
5) Care must be used when filling. Remove top grille and fill through the
left opening between wick and sidewall of cabinet. Any water spilled
on chassis must be dryed before energizing humidifier.
6) Do not place the humidifier near loose drapes, combustible materials, or
heat-producing objects.
7) This humidifier is UL listed with Bemis by Essick Air brand evaporative
wicks in place. To maintain your UL rating, see your service center for
all repairs. Use only Bemis by Essick Air brand replacement wicks and
chemicals. To order parts, wicks and chemicals call 1-800-547-3888.
8) It is very important that cleaning solutions such as bleach, bacteria treat-
ment or descaler, which could be used to clean the cabinet, are not
sprayed or applied to the chassis assembly. These solutions can cause
serious electrical malfunction of the humidifier.
Introduction
Your Bemis by Essick Air evaporative humidifier adds invisible moistureto your
home by moving dry inlet air through a saturated wick. As air moves through
the wick, the water evaporates into the air, leaving behind any white dust, min-
erals or dissolved and suspended solids. Because the water is evaporated, there
is no messy mist or spray and no white dust, just clean and invisible moist air.
As the evaporative wick traps accumulated minerals from the water, its ability
to absorb and evaporate water decreases. We recommend changing the wick
at least once a year,preferably disposing of the used one at the end of the
humidifying season and starting with a new one at the beginning of the next
humidifying season. In hard water areas, more frequent replacement may by
necessary to maintain your humidifier's efficiency.

CAUTION-We recommend using Bemis by Essick Air Bacteria Treatment when
ever you refill the water bottles to eliminate bacteria growth. Follow the direc-
tions to determine the proper amount to be added to the 3 gallon reservoir.
The wick does not require the use of chelating agent type water treatments
that are intended for use in Rotobelt or Water Wheel type humidifiers.

Locate your humidifier on an inside wall, near an electrical outlet. The
humidifier should be at least 4" away from the wall for best results. Do not
position the unit directly in front of a hot air duct or radiator.
Assembly, Filling & Operation
ASSEMBLY:
1) Unpack humidifier from carton.
2) Remove all packaging
material, wicks, etc. from cabinet.
3) The wicks are located by four
pairs of ribs in the bottom of
the cabinet. Locate the two
wicks. Insert them by dropping each one down into the locating ribs
(see illustration).
4) After inserting the wicks, place the transition molding on top of them,
flange side up. The notch along one side of the transition goes to the
back of the cabinet.
5) Place the chassis unit into the cabinet, with the switch to the back and
hang it onto the mounts at the front and back inside of the cabinet.
FILLING:
6) Before replacing the top grille, fill the reservoir with cool, fresh, preferably
unsoftened water . DO NOT POUR WATER OVER THE ELECTRICAL
CHASSIS. Fill the cabinet only through the opening between the left
wick and the cabinet sidewall, to the level marked “Fill to Here” on
the left side rear wall of the cabinet. If water spills on the chassis, it must

be allowed to dry completely before energizing the humidifier. If
you have only softened water available in your home, you can use
it, but you will notice a build up of minerals on the evaporative
wicks much sooner. Reservoir capacity is 3.0 gallons.
DO NOT OVERFILL
7) We recommend using Bemis by Essick Air Bacteria Treatment, whenever
you refill the humidifier reservoir to eliminate bacterial growth.
Add bacteriostat according to the instructions on the bottle.
8) Replace the grille onto the cabinet with the switch opening to the back.
OPERATION:
9) Plug cordset into interlock receptacle at back of unit.
10) Plug cordset into wall receptacle.
11) Turn Humidifier on.
12) The amount of humidity is regulated by using the HI/LO speed switch
on the chassis.
Air Care®Filters
The 527 300 features a two-stage air filter inserted into the top of the
power pak which filters the air as it humidifies.
The first stage of the air filter is 3M FIlTRETETM,
a high-efficiency, electrostatically-charged
filter media which traps dust, pollen and
airborne pollutants. The second stage of the
Air Care filter is an activated carbon media
which absorbs odors from cooking, pets or
tobacco smoke.
We recommend replacing the Air Care filter
at least once a year, more often if necessary.
When the white filter media is coated with a
layer of dust and dirt, it is time to replace the filter.
The certified water output of your humidifier will be reduced when using
the Air Care filter.
Air Care filters are optional and are not required for normal operation of
the humidifier.

Care and Maintenance
IMPORTANT: We recommend cleaning your humidifier once a week. Follow
instructions.
Humidifiers provide comfort by adding moisture to dry, heated indoor air.
To get the most benefit from the humidifier and avoid product misuse, fol-
low all instructions carefully, specifically the filling operation, care and
maintenance guidelines. Please note this is an electrical appliance and
requires careful attention when in use.
Keep the chassis dry at all times.
In addition, if you do not follow the recommended care and maintenance
guidelines, microorganisms may be able to grow in the water within the
humidifier's reservoir.
Caution: Disconnect power before filling, cleaning or servicing unit.
1) Turn unit off.
2) Unplug electrical cord from the
wall outlet.
3) Unplug interlock plug from
chassis receptacle.
4) Lift off grille
5) Lift chassis unit from cabinet
and set aside
REMOVING SCALE
6) Carefully lift wicks from cabinet,
allowing any water to drain
from wicks into cabinet.
7) Empty cabinet into sink. Remove
any remaining water from
cabinet with a sponge. Fill
reservoir with one 8 oz. cup of
undiluted white vinegar.
Let solution stay 20 minutes.
Clean all interior surfaces of
reservoir with a soft brush.
Dampen soft cloth with a
undiluted white vinegar
and wipe out reservoir to
remove scale.
8) Rinse cabinet thoroughly with
fresh water to remove scale &
cleaning solution before
disinfecting.

DISINFECTING RESERVOIR
9) Fill reservoir with mixture of one
teaspoon chlorine bleach in one
gallon water. Let solution stay
20 minutes, swishing every few
minutes. Wet all surfaces inside
the reservoir. DO NOT
ALLOW BLEACH OR
CLEANING SOLUTION TO

10) Empty reservoir after 20
minutes. Rinse with water until
bleach smell is gone. Dry with
clean cloth or paper towel.
11) Replace wicks in cabinet by
dropping wicks into locating
ribs in bottom of cabinet.
12) Replace transition molding on
top of the wicks.
13) Replace chassis unit into
cabinet, with switch to the back,
ensuring that the chassis seats
correctly on the front and back
edge of the cabinet.
14) Plug cord set into interlock
receptacle at back of unit. Plug
cord set into wall outlet. Turn
unit on.
EVAPORATIVE WICKS
15) We recommend replacing the wicks
at least once a season, more often
in hard water areas. When they
appear excessively clogged with
mineral deposits, discard them and
restore your humidifier's efficiency
with new wicks. Bemis by Essick
Air wick number 1040 fits all 500
Series Tabletop humidifiers. For
replacement wicks,

Only the Bemis by Essick Air
evaporative wick guarantees
the
certified output of your
humidifier. Use of wicks other

Summer Storage

ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
The Bemis by Essick Air humidifier warranty covers defects in materials and work-
manship for a period of one year from date of retail purchase. This warranty applies only
to the original purchaser of the product.
Within the first 12 months from date of purchase, Essick Air will repair or replace, at its
discretion, any defective part of the humidifier covered by this warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which
vary from state to state or province to province.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse or abuse of the humid-
ifier, accidents or alterations to the product, commercial use or damage during shipment.
Misuse includes malfunctions caused by negligence in cleaning or parts fouled with min-
eral deposits due to hard-water conditions. Alterations to the product include the substitu-
tion of non-Bemis by Essick Air brand components including, but not limited to, wicks.
If service becomes necessary, take or send the product to any Bemis by Essick Air
service center.

Pautas Importantes de Seguridad
LEER ANTES DE USAR SU HUMIDIFICADOR
1) Este artefacto tiene un enchufe polarizado (una espiga es más ancha que la otra).
Para disminuir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, este enchufe está diseñado para
encajar tan solo de una forma en un tomacorriente polarizado de 120 voltios CA,
15 amp. Si el enchufe no encaja completamente en el tomacorriente, intentar
conectarlo en sentido contrario. Si a pesar de eso no encaja, contactar a un
electricista calificado. No intentar burlar esta característica de seguridad de
manera alguna. Si se tiene que utilizar un cordón de extensión, éste también debe
aceptar el enchufe con espiga ancha y debe tener el voltaje adecuado.
2) No colocar el cordón debajo de alfombras, en áreas de tráfico, ni cerca de fuentes
de calor.
3) No utilizar el humidificador si el cordón está dañado.
4) Siempre desenchufar el cordón de suministro de corriente antes de
llenar, limpiar, dar servicio o cuando la unidad no esté en uso.
5) Se debe tener cuidado al llenar. Saque la rejilla superior y llene por la abertura
izquierda entre la mecha y la pared lateral del gabinete. Antes de enchufar la
unidad al tomacorriente, seque toda el agua que se hubiese derramado en el
chasis.
6) Siempre desconectar el cordón de corriente eléctrica antes de limpiar, dar servicio o
cuando no se esté usando la unidad.
7) No colocar el humidificador cerca de cortinas sueltas, materiales combustibles u
objetos que produzcan calor.
8) Es muy importante que las soluciones limpiadoras como el blanqueador, el
tratamiento bactericida o el descalcificador que se usen para limpiar el gabi
nete no se rocíen sobre el chasis. Estas soluciones pueden causar malfun
cionamientos serios del humidificador.
Introducción
Su humidificador vaporizador Bemis by Essick Air agrega una humedad invisible a su
hogar moviendo el aire seco que entra a través del filtro/mecha saturado de agua. A
medida que el aire pasa a través de los filtros/mecha humedecidos, el agua se va evap-
orando en el aire dejando atrás en las mechas que a su vez sirven de filtros, cualquier
polvo blanco, minerales o sólidos disueltos y suspendidos. Debido a que el agua se
evapora, no existe niebla o rocío sucio ni polvo blanco, tan solo aire húmedo limpio e
invisible.
A medida que los filtros/mecha atrapan los minerales acumulados en el agua, su
capacidad para absorber y evaporar agua va disminuyendo. Recomendamos
cambiar los filtros/mecha por lo menos una vez por año, preferiblemente desechando
los filtro/mecha usados al final de la temporada que necesita humedad adicional y
comenzando con otros nuevos al inicio de la siguiente temporada que requiere
humedad adicional. En áreas con aguas duras puede que sea necesario reemplazar-
los más frecuentemente para conservar la eficiencia de su humidificador.

PRECAUCIÓN - Para eliminar el desarrollo bacteriano, recomendamos el
uso del Bactericida Bemis by Essick Air, cada vez que se rellene las botellas
de agua . Seguir las instrucciones para determinar la cantidad apropiada
que debe añadirse al reservorio de agua de 3 galones (11.4 L).
El filtro/mecha de absorción no requiere de agentes anticalcificantes para
el tratamiento de agua cuyo uso está destinado a humidificadores tipo
Correa Rotatoria o Rueda de Agua.
Limpiar el humidificador ahorrador
de espacio. El aire seco ingresa al
humidificador y es lavado con agua
a medida que pasa a través del
filtro/mecha y sale a la habitación
para proveer una atmósfera
primaveral, fresca y húmeda.
Ubicar el humidificador junto a una pared interior, cerca de un
tomacorriente eléctrico. Para mejor resultado, el humidificador debe estar
alejado de la pared por lo menos 4” (10 cm.). No colocar la unidad
frente a un ducto de aire caliente o a un radiador.
Ensamblaje Llenado y Operación
ENSAMBLAJE:
1) Sacar el humidificador de la caja.
2) Retirar todos los materiales de
embalaje, filtros/mecha, etc. del
gabinete.
3) Los filtros/mecha están fijados
por cuatro pares de rieles guía al
fondo del gabinete. Colocar los
dos filtros/mecha. Insertarlos dejando caer cada uno dentro de los
correspondientes rieles guía. (Ver figura).
4) Después de insertar los filtros/mecha, colocar la moldura de transición
encima de ellos, con las bridas hacia arriba. La ranura a lo largo de
un costado de la moldura de transición va hacia atrás del gabinete.
5) Colocar la unidad del chasis en el gabinete, con el interruptor hacia
atrás y colgarlo en la montura en la parte frontal y posterior del
gabinete.
LLENADO:
6) Antes de reinstalar la rejilla superior, llene el reservorio con agua fría,
fresca, preferiblemente sin ablandar . NO ECHE AGUA SOBRE EL
CHASIS ELÉCTRICO. Llene el gabinete por la abertura entre la
mecha izquierda y la pared lateral del gabinete hasta el nivel marca-
do “Fill to Here” (Llenar hasta aquí) que está en la parte izquierda
de la pared posterior del gabinete. Si se derrama o salpica agua

sobre el chasis, debe permitirse que seque completamente antes de
enchufar el humidificador a la corriente. Si sólo tiene agua ablandada
en su casa, puede usarla, pero notará· una acumulación más rápida de
minerales en las mechas vaporizadoras. La capacidad del tanque es
de 3 galones (11.4 L).
NO SOBRELLENAR
7) Para eliminar el desarrollo bacteriano, recomendamos el uso del
Bactericida Bemis by Essick Air, cada vez que se rellene el humidifi
cador . Añadir el bactericida siguiendo las instrucciones en la botella.
8) Colocar la rejilla en el gabinete con la abertura para el interruptor
hacia atrás.
OPERACIÓN
9) Enchufar un extremo del cordón en la parte posterior de la unidad.
10) Enchufar el cable en el tomacorriente de la pared.
11) Prender el humidificador.
12) La cantidad de humedad se regula mediante el control de Alta/Baja
Velocidad (Hi/Lo Speed) en el chasis.
Filtros de aire Air Care®
Los modelos “ Air Care” traen un filtro de aire de dos etapas que filtra el aire a
medida que lo humidifica y que se coloca encima de la unidad de energía
“
Power Pak ” .
La primera etapa del filtro de aire
es el FILTRETE de 3M, un filtro de
alta eficiencia, electrostáticamente
cargado que atrapa el polvo, el
polen y los contaminantes del aire.
La segunda etapa del filtro Air
Care es carbón activado que
absorbe los olores de la cocina,
las mascotas o el humo de tabaco.
Recomendamos reemplazar el filtro
“
Air Care “ por lo menos una vez
al año, más a menudo si es nece-
sario. Cuando la parte blanca del filtro esté revestida con una capa de polvo y
suciedad, es el momento de reemplazar el filtro.
La capacidad del humidificador se verá reducida cuando esté usando el filtro de
aire “
Air Care” .
Los filtros de aire “
Air Care ” son opcionales y no son indispensables para la
operación normal del humidificador.

1) Apagar la unidad.
2) Desenchufar el cordón eléctrico
de la pared.
3) Desenchufar el otro extremo del
cordón del chasis del
humidificador.
4) Retirar la rejilla Levantándola.
5) Levantar el gabinete del chasis
y ponerlo a un lado.
REMOCIÓN DE
CALCIFICACIONES
6) Levantar cuidadosamente los
filtros/mecha del gabinete,
permitiendo que el agua de los
filtros/mecha drene dentro del
gabinete.
7) Vaciar el agua del gabinete en
un desagüe. Con una esponja
secar el agua remanente en el
gabinete. Llenar el reservorio
con agua y una taza de 8 onz.
(0.237 Lt.) de vinagre blanco
sin diluir. Dejar que la solución
repose por 20 minutos.
Limpiar todas las superficies
interiores del reservorio con un
cepillo blando. Humedecer un
paño suave con vinagre blanco
sin diluir y frotar el reservorio
para eliminar el sarro.
8) Enjuagar completamente con
agua fresca para eliminar las
calcificaciones y solución
limpiadora antes de desinfectar.
Cuidado y Mantenimiento
IMPORTANTE: Recomendamos limpiar su humidificador cada dos semanas.
Seguir las Instrucciones.
Los humidificadores proporcionan confort añadiendo humedad al aire seco y
caliente en recintos encerrados. Para obtener el mayor beneficio de su
humidificador y evitar el mal uso de este artefacto, seguir cuidadosamente
todas las instrucciones, en particular las instrucciones de la operación de
llenado, para el cuidado y mantenimiento. Por favor tomar nota que este es
un aparato eléctrico y requiere de atención cuidadosa cuando está en uso.
Mantenga el chasis seco en todo momento.
Además, si no se siguen las instrucciones de cuidado y mantenimiento
recomendadas, existe la posibilidad de que se desarrollen microorganismos
en el agua dentro del reservorio del humidificador.
Precaución: Desenchufar de la corriente antes de llenar,
limpiar o dar servicio a la unidad.
INSTRUCCIONES PARA LIMPIEZA Y DESINFECCIÓN

Almacenamiento Durante el Verano
1) Limpiar la unidad como se indicó
en la sección Cuidado y
Mantenimiento.
2) Desechar los filtros/mecha
usados. Instalar nuevos

DESINFECCIÓN DEL
RESERVORIO
9) Echar en el reservorio un galón
(3.78 L) de agua y una
cucharadita de blanqueador a
base de cloro. Permitir que la
solución repose 20 minutos
moviéndola cada varios minutos.
Mojar todas las superficies
dentro del reservorio.

10) Vaciar el reservorio de agua
después de 20 minutos.
Enjuagarlo con agua hasta que el
olor a blanqueador haya desa
parecido. Secar con un paño
limpio o con toallas de papel.
11) Volver a colocar los filtros/mecha
en el gabinete dejándolos caer
entre los rieles guía en el fondo
del gabinete.
12) Volver a colocar la moldura de
transición sobre los filtros/mecha.
13) Volver a colocar la unidad del
chasis en el gabinete con el
interruptor hacia atrás,
asegurándose que el chasis se
asiente correctamente en el borde
frontal y posterior del gabinete.
14) Volver a enchufar un extremo del
cordón en la parte posterior del
humidificador y el otro extremo
en un tomacorriente.

15) Recomendamos reemplazar los

vez por temporada, y más
frecuentemente en áreas con
aguas duras. Cuando los
filtros/mecha se encuentren
excesivamente obstruidos con

humidificador con nuevos

Cette garantie ne couvre pas les dommages causés par une mauvaise utilisation, un
emploi abusif, un accident ou des modifications portées sur le produit, une utilisation
commerciale ou des dommages subis lors du transport. Une mauvaise utilisation comprend
un mauvais fonctionnement de l'appareil dû à de la négligence dans le nettoyage ou à des
