lesen Sie bitte diese Montage-/Bedienungsanleitung sorgfältig durch und bewahren Sie sie auf, um gegebenenfalls zukünftig nachlesen
zu können.
1 • SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
Das Produkt ist nur für den sachgemäßen Gebrauch (wie in der Bedienungsanleitung beschrieben) bestimmt. Änderungen,
Modifikationen oder Lackierungen dürfen nicht vorgenommen werden, da ansonsten jeglicher Gewährleistungsanspruch
entfällt. Sofort nach dem Auspacken ist das Gerät auf Beschädigungen zu prüfen. Im Falle einer Beschädigung darf das
Gerät keinesfalls in Betrieb genommen werden.
Wenn anzunehmen ist, dass ein gefahrloser Betrieb des Gerätes nicht gewährleistet werden kann, so ist dieses unverzüglich
außer Betrieb zu nehmen und gegen unbeabsichtigten Betrieb zu sichern.
2 • BESCHREIBUNG
Ein CO-Melder ist ein Melder, der die Konzentration von Kohlenmonoxid in der Raumluft nachweist und Alarm auslöst,
sobald diese zu hoch ist.
Dieser Kohlenmonoxid-Melder ist nicht als Rauchwarnmelder oder als Detektor für brennbare Gase geeignet!
Die Ausführung des Melders PROTECTOR CD 45 basiert auf Gerätetyp A – zur optischen und akustischen Alarmierung
und zur Ausführung einer Funktion in Form eines Ausgangssignales, das zum direkten oder indirekten Einschalten einer
Lüftung oder zur Auslösung einer anderen Hilfsvorrichtung verwendet werden kann.
Was Sie über Kohlenmonoxid (CO) wissen sollten
Kohlenmonoxid (CO) ist ein gefährliches Gift. Es ist ein farb-, geruch- und geschmackloses Gas. CO-Gas entsteht bei der
Verbrennung von kohlenstoffhaltigen Materialien und zwar dann, wenn nicht genügend Sauerstoff zur Verfügung steht.
Diese Gefahr kann z.B. bei Heizkesseln, Kaminöfen und Autoabgasen auftreten. Dieses Gift wird im Blut gebunden und
verhindert dort den Transport von Sauerstoff, was zum Tod durch Ersticken führen kann. Selbst kleine Konzentrationen von
CO-Gas können Hirn- oder andere Organschäden bei Ungeborenen hervorrufen, ohne dass die Mutter davon betroffen ist.

HINWEIS: Die Montage sollte durch eine sachkundige Person erfolgen. Ein CO-Melder ist kein Ersatz für Rauchwarn-, Feuer- oder
andere Brandmelder! Dieser Melder ist für die Nutzung innerhalb von privatem Wohnraum vorgesehen. Er ist nicht für gewerbliche
oder industrielle Anwendungen, für den Einsatz auf Sportbooten oder für die Berufsschifffahrt geeignet. Folgende Stoffe können die
ordnungsgemäße Funktion des Gerätes nachhaltig beeinträchtigen. Halten Sie daher das Gerät stets fern von:
• Ammoniak/Salmiakgeist • Pinselreiniger • Farbverdünnung • Nitroverdünnung
Es kann Personen mit besonderen medizinischen Eigenschaften keine vollständige Sicherheit bieten und nicht die chronische
Wirkung einer Kohlenmonoxidexposition auf den menschlichen Körper verhindern (siehe auch EN 50292:2001, Anhang A).
Es ist kein Ersatz für die ordnungsgemäße Installation, Benutzung und Instandhaltung brennstoffbetriebener Geräte
einschließlich zugehöriger Lüftungs- und Abgassysteme.
Der CO-Melder muss nach ca. 5 Jahren ausgetauscht werden. Befolgen Sie bei der Installation Ihres CO-Melders genau
die Instruktionen dieser Anleitung.
Beachten Sie, dass es noch andere Gefahren gibt, bei denen Ihnen die CO-Detektion dieses Melders nicht hilft,
so z.B. Gaslecks, Feuer oder Explosionen. Wir empfehlen hierfür unsere Gas- und Rauchwarnmelder. Mehr Informationen

3 • MONTAGEORT
Montieren Sie den Melder möglichst zentral auf einer freien Fläche und in der Nähe von potentiellen Gefahrenquellen
(z.B. Gasthermen). Bei der Wandmontage sollte der Mindestabstand mehr als 1,5 m vom Boden und mehr als 0,2 m
von der Decke betragen. Bei der Deckenmontage sollte der Mindestabstand mehr als 0,2 m von der Wand betragen.
4 • INSTALLATION / MONTAGE
Empfehlung für optimale Sicherheit: Installieren Sie je einen CO-Melder in Kinder- und Schlafzimmern, in allen Räumen mit
Gasheizungen, Herden/Öfen oder Kaminen sowie in den Fluren jeder Etage und in der Kellergarage.
Empfehlung für Mindestschutz: Installieren Sie je einen CO-Melder in Fluren und in Räumen mit Gasheizungen, Herden/
Öfen oder Kaminen.
1. Entfernen Sie die Montageplatte durch leichtes Drehen gegen den Uhrzeigersinn vom CO-Melder (Abb. 1).
2. Nach Festlegung des richtigen Montageortes befestigen Sie die Montageplatte waagerecht mit den beiliegenden
Dübeln und Schrauben (Abb. 2) an der Wand oder möglichst mittig an der Decke.
Auf der Rückseite des CO-Melders PROTECTOR CD 45 befinden sich Schraubenklemmen (Abb. 3.2), die im Alarmfall
folgende Möglichkeiten bieten:
Der CO-Melder PROTECTOR CD 45 ist mit einem potentialfreien Kontakt ausgestattet, der den Anschluss zum Beispiel
an eine Gefahrenmeldeanlage, ein Telefonwählgerät, eine Warnleuchte o.ä. ermöglicht.
Um an die Schraubenklemmen zu gelangen, drücken Sie die Abdeckplatte (Abb. 3.1) nach unten und schieben diese zur
Mitte des Melders. Bei der Verdrahtung auf polrichtiges Anschließen achten!
3. Bevor Sie den CO-Melder an der Montageplatte befestigen, öffnen Sie das Batteriefach indem Sie auf die Entriegelung
(Abb. 4.1) drücken und gleichzeitig den Batteriefachdeckel (Abb. 4.2) nach unten schieben. Legen Sie die 3 Batterien
polrichtig ein (Abb. 5) und drücken dabei die roten Stifte mit der jeweiligen Batterie herunter. Der Melder quittiert mit

einem kurzen Piepton und alle 3 LEDs (Abb. 4.3) leuchten kurz auf. Nach wenigen Sekunden blinken die rote und grüne LED
ca. 5 Min., um den Aufwärmmodus anzuzeigen.
4. Erst nach der Befestigung des CO-Melders auf der Montageplatte wird die Inbetriebnahme abgeschlossen. Ansonsten
leuchtet die gelbe LED und der Melder gibt nach ca. 6 Min. alle 60 Sek. einen Warnton ab (siehe Funktionstabelle).
Drehen Sie den Melder im Uhrzeigersinn auf die Montageplatte (Abb.6) bis er einrastet. Die gelbe LED erlischt und der
Warnton verstummt gegebenenfalls.
5. Schließen Sie das Batteriefach indem Sie den Deckel aufsetzen und nach oben schieben bis er einrastet.
6. Prüfen Sie sofort die Funktion des Melders durch Druck auf die Test/Mute-Taste (siehe Wartung/Funktionstest und Abb. 4.2).
5 • FUNKTIONSBESCHREIBUNG
Der Melder ist mit einer Batterieüberwachung ausgestattet. Leere Batterien werden angezeigt, indem der Melder ca.
alle 60 Sek. piept und parallel die gelbe LED (Abb. 4.3) aufblitzt. Der Melder ist in diesem Zustand noch für ca. 7 Tage
funktionsbereit. Die Batterien sollten jedoch schnellstmöglich ausgetauscht
werden. Im Alarmfall kann der CO-Melder
stumm geschaltet werden indem die Test/Mute-Taste (Abb. 4.2)
kurz gedrückt wird.

7 • WARTUNG
Batterieaustausch
Die Batterien sollten spätestens nach einem Jahr getauscht werden oder sofort, wenn das Leersignal ertönt. Hierzu muss
der Melder nicht demontiert werden.
1. Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach durch gleichzeitiges Drücken auf die Entriegelung (Abb. 4.1) und Herunterziehen des

Batteriefachdeckels (Abb. 4.2). Entsorgen Sie die Batterien nicht im Hausmüll. Der Endverbraucher ist gesetzlich dazu
verpflichtet, Batterien nach Gebrauch zurückzugeben. Dies ist unentgeltlich bei der Verkaufsstelle oder bei einer
Sammelstelle in Ihrer Nähe möglich.
2. Legen Sie die 3 neuen Batterien polrichtig (Abb. 5) ein und drücken dabei die roten Stifte mit der jeweiligen Batterie
herunter. Der Melder quittiert mit einem kurzen Piepton.
3. Schließen Sie das Batteriefach indem Sie den Deckel aufsetzen und nach oben schieben bis er einrastet.
4. Prüfen Sie sofort die Funktion des Melders (siehe Funktionstest).
Wir empfehlen folgende 1,5 V Alkaline-Batterien der Größe AA/Mignon Energizer E91
Neue Batterien halten unter normalen Umständen ca. 1 Jahr – abhängig von der Anzahl der Tests. Ist der Melder längere
Zeit hohen oder niedrigen Temperaturen oder hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit ausgesetzt, verkürzt sich die Lebensdauer der
Batterien.
Funktionstest
Überprüfen Sie die ordnungsgemäße Funktion 1 x pro Woche, indem Sie die Test/Mute-Taste (Abb. 4.2) kurz drücken.
Der Melder piept mindestens 2 x laut und die 3 LEDs (Abb. 4.3) leuchten gleichzeitig kurz auf. Danach geht der Melder in
den normalen Betrieb zurück.
Reinigen des CO-Melders
Loser Staub im Inneren des Melders kann von außen mit Hilfe eines Staubsaugers durch die Lüftungsschlitze abgesaugt
werden. Das Gehäuse kann von außen mit einem leicht angefeuchteten Tuch gereinigt werden. Verwenden Sie auf keinen
Fall Haushaltsreiniger mit Ammoniak (Salmiakgeist) oder andere Chemikalien (wie Reinigungs- oder Lösungsmittel) am
Melder oder in der Nähe des Melders. Der Melder darf nicht gestrichen oder lackiert werden!
8 • VERHALTEN BEI ALARM
1. Gehen Sie sofort an die frische Luft, ins Freie oder zu einem geöffneten Fenster/Tür.
2. Rufen Sie die Feuerwehr.
3. Betreten Sie nicht wieder den betroffenen Bereich bzw. entfernen Sie sich nicht von dem offenen Fenster/Tür.
4. Warten Sie das Eintreffen der Feuerwehr ab.
5. Lüften Sie alle Räume gründlich.
6.
Wenn keine Gefahr mehr besteht, setzt der CO-Melder seinen Alarm selbsttätig zurück und geht in den Normalzustand über.
9 • HINWEISE
HINWEIS: Dieses Gerät darf nicht mit dem unsortierten Siedlungsabfall entsorgt werden. Besitzer von Altgeräten sind gesetzlich
dazu verpflichtet, dieses Gerät fachgerecht zu entsorgen. Informationen erhalten Sie von Ihrer Stadt- bzw. Gemeindeverwaltung.
HINWEIS: Altbatterien dürfen nicht mit dem unsortierten Siedlungsabfall entsorgt werden. Besitzer von Altbatterien sind gesetzlich
zur Rückgabe verpflichtet und können diese unentgeltlich bei den Verkaufsstellen zurückgeben. Batterien enthalten umwelt- und
gesundheitsschädliche Stoffe und müssen daher fachgerecht entsorgt werden.

Distributor in Ihrem Land (eine vollständige Übersicht finden Sie unter www.esylux.com) übernimmt für die Dauer von drei
Jahren ab Herstelldatum eine Garantie auf Herstellungs-/Materialfehler der ESYLUX Geräte.
Diese Garantie besteht unabhängig von Ihren gesetzlichen Rechten gegenüber dem Verkäufer des Geräts.
Die Garantie bezieht sich nicht auf die natürliche Abnutzung, Veränderung/Störung durch Umwelteinflüsse oder auf
Transportschäden sowie nicht auf Schäden, die infolge Nichtbeachtung der Bedienungsanleitung, der Wartungsanweisung
und/oder unsachgemäßer Installation entstanden sind. Mitgelieferte Batterien, Leuchtmittel und Akkus sind von der

Die Garantie kann nur gewährt werden, wenn das unveränderte Gerät unverzüglich nach Feststellung des Mangels mit
Rechnung/Kassenbon sowie einer kurzen schriftlichen Fehlerbeschreibung, ausreichend frankiert und verpackt an den
Garantiegeber eingesandt wird.
Bei berechtigtem Garantieanspruch wird der Garantiegeber nach eigener Wahl das Gerät in angemessener Zeit
ausbessern oder austauschen. Weitergehende Ansprüche umfasst die Garantie nicht, insbesondere haftet der
Garantiegeber nicht für aus der Fehlerhaftigkeit des Geräts entstehende Schäden. Sollte der Garantieanspruch nicht

operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
1 • SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Use this product only as intended (as described in the user instructions). Changes or modifications to the product or
painting it will result in loss of warranty. You should check the device for damage immediately after unpacking it. If there
is any damage, you should not install the device under any circumstances.
If you suspect that safe operation of the device cannot be guaranteed, you should turn the device off immediately and
make sure that it cannot be operated unintentionally.
2 • DESCRIPTION
A CO detector is a device designed to detect the concentration of carbon monoxide in the surrounding air. As soon as this
concentration becomes too high, the device will trigger an alarm.
This carbon monoxide detector is not suitable for use as a smoke detector or as a detection device for flammable gases!
The PROTECTOR CD 45 detector is based on model A. They are designed to emit visual and audible alarms and to
execute a function in the form of an output signal, which can be used to directly or indirectly activate ventilation equipment
or to trigger another auxiliary device.
What you need to know about carbon monoxide (CO)
Carbon monoxide (CO) is an insidious poison. It is a gas that has no colour, odour or taste. Carbon monoxide is produced
from the partial oxidation of carbon-containing compounds.
This danger can happen with central-heating boilers, open fireplaces and in garages. The poison accumulates in the blood
and obstructs the passage of oxygen, which can lead to death from suffocation. Even small concentrations of CO gas can
cause brain or organic damage in unborn babies without the mother being affected.
Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include

NOTE: The installation should only be carried out by a competent person. A CO detector is not a substitute for smoke-, fire- or other detectors. This
alarm is only intended for use in private residential properties. It is not suitable for commercial or industrial applications, nor for use on boats or
ships. The following materials may have a lasting adverse effect on the device’s correct operation. Therefore, always keep the device away from:
• Ammonia gas/ammonia solutions • Paint brush cleaners • Paint thinners • Cellulose thinners

It cannot offer persons with special medical prerequisites total protection and cannot prevent the chronic effects of carbon
monoxide on the human body (see also EN 50292:2001, Annex A). It is not a replacement for the installation, use and
maintenance of fuel-burning systems including associated ventilation and gas flue systems.
The CO detector must be replaced after approx. 5 years. Strictly follow the instructions provided in this user manual when
installing your CO detector.
Note that there are other dangers where this alarm’s ability to detect carbon monoxide will not help you, e.g. in the event
of gas leaks, fire or explosions. For such dangers we recommend our gas, smoke detector. You can find more information
about these on our website: www.esylux.com.
3 • INSTALLATION POSITION
To mount the detector, choose a clear surface and position the device as centrally as possible, ensuring that it is close to
potential safety hazards (e.g. gas boilers). When installing the device on a wall, ensure that the detector is more than 1.5
metres from the ground and more than 0.2 metres from the ceiling. If you are installing the device on a ceiling, ensure that
there is a distance of more than 0.2 metres between the detector and the wall.
4 • INSTALLATION / ASSEMBLY
Recommendation for maximising safety: Install one CO detector in every bedroom and nursery, in every room with gas heaters,
cookers/ovens or fireplaces, and in the hallways/corridors on each floor of the building and in the basement garage.
Recommendation for providing a minimum level of protection: Install one CO detector in every hallway/corridor and in all
rooms with gas heaters, cookers/ovens or fireplaces.
1. Gently rotate the mounting plate anti-clockwise to remove it from the CO detector (fig. 1).
2. Once you have decided on the correct position to mount the detector, use the dowels and screws provided (fig. 2) to fix the
mounting plate horizontally to the wall, or as close as possible to the centre of the ceiling.
On the back of the PROTECTOR CD 45 CO detector, you will find some screw terminals (fig. 3.2), which offer the
following options in the event of an alarm:
The PROTECTOR CD 45 CO detector is fitted with a potential-free contact, which means that the device can be
connected to other equipment, such as a hazard alert system, an automatic telephone dialler or a warning light, etc.
To access these screw terminals, push the cover plate down (fig. 3.1) and then slide this towards the centre of the
detector. Ensure correct polarity when wiring the device!
3. Before fixing the CO detector to the mounting plate, open the battery compartment by pressing the release button (fig. 4.1)
while at the same time sliding the compartment cover downwards (fig. 4.2). Insert the 3 batteries correctly (fig. 5) and
make sure that the red pins are in contact with each battery. The detector will confirm that the batteries are in place
by emitting a short beep and all 3 LEDs (fig. 4.3) will light up briefly. After a few seconds, the red and green LEDs will start
flashing for approximately 5 minutes to indicate that the device is in its warm-up mode.
4. Device activation is only complete once the CO detector has been attached to the mounting plate. If it is not, the yellow
LED will light up and the detector will emit an audible signal every 60 seconds after a period of approximately 6 minutes
(see „Table of Functions“). Place the detector on the mounting plate (fig. 6) and turn the device clockwise until it clicks
into place. The yellow LED will go off and the audible signal will be silenced, where applicable.
5. Close the battery compartment by replacing the cover and slide it upwards until it pops into place.

6. Test the device immediately by pressing the Test/Mute button (see maintenance/function test and fig. 4.2).
5 • ALARM FUNCTIONS
The alarm is equipped with a battery monitoring system. Low batteries are indicated by the alarm starting to beep and the
yellowLED (fig. 4.3) flashing around every 60 seconds. The alarm will continue to work in this condition for around another 7
days. You should nevertheless change the batteries as soon as possible. In the event of an alarm, the device can be muted
by briefly pressing the Test/Mute button (fig. 4.2).

7 • MAINTENANCE
Changing the battery
The batteries should be changed at least once a year or immediately if the low battery alert sounds. When changing the
batteries, the alarm must not be dismounted.
1. Open the battery compartment (fig. 4.1) while at the same time sliding the compartment cover downwards (fig. 4.2).
Do not dispose of the batteries with your household waste. You must recycle all used batteries. Batteries may be
returned free-of-charge to the place of sale or to your local collection point.
2. Insert 3 new batteries correctly (fig. 5) and make sure that the red pins are in contact with each battery. The alarm
confirms that the batteries are in place with a short sound.
3. Close the battery compartment by placing the cover on the alarm and sliding it upwards until it pops in.
4. Test the alarm right away (see operating test).

Under normal conditions new batteries will last for around a year – depending on the number of tests. If the alarm is
subjected to high or low temperatures for longer time, or to high air humidity, battery lifetime will reduced.
Testing the alarm
Check once a week that the alarm is working properly by briefly pressing down the Test/Mute button (fig. 4.2). The alarm will
beep 2 or more times and the 3 LEDs (fig. 4.3) will light up briefly. Afterwards the alarm returns to its normal operating mode.
Cleaning the alarm
Loose dust inside the alarm can be through the vents using a vacuum cleaner. The alarm cover can be cleaned from the
outside with a lightly dampened cloth. Under no circumstances use of any detregent containing ammonia or any other
chemicals (such as cleaning agents or solvents) on or anywhere near the alarm. Do not paint or varnish the alarm!
8 • WHAT TO DO WHEN THE ALARM SOUNDS
1. Go immediately to fresh air. If not possible go to an opened door or window.
2. Call the fire brigade.
3. Do not re-enter the affected area/do not move away from the opened window or door.
4. Wait for the fire brigade to arrive.
5. Ventilate every room thoroughly.
6. When danger has been overcome, the CO detector will reset itself automatically and
return to its normal mode of operation.

1 • CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ

2 • DESCRIPTION
Un détecteur de CO est un détecteur qui analyse la concentration de monoxyde de carbone dans l'air ambiant et
déclenche une alarme dès que celle-ci est trop élevée.
Ce détecteur de monoxyde de carbone ne se prête pas à la détection de fumée ou de gaz inflammables!
Le modèle de détecteur PROTECTOR CD 45 se base sur le type d'appareil A – pour la signalisation visuelle et sonore et
pour l'exécution d'une fonction sous la forme d'un signal de sortie qui peut être utilisé pour l'activation directe ou indirecte
d’une installation de ventilation ou pour le déclenchement d’un autre dispositif auxiliaire.
Ce que vous devez savoir sur le monoxyde de carbone (CO)
Le monoxyde de carbone (CO) est un poison dangereux. Incolore, inodore et insipide, il est le produit d'une combustion
de substances carbonées en présence d'une quantité insuffisante d'oxygène.
Ce phénomène peut se produire, par exemple, à proximité des chaudières, poêles et gaz d'échappement. Le monoxyde de
carbone pénètre dans le sang et entrave le transport de l'oxygène, pouvant entraîner le décès par asphyxie. Même en très petite
quantité, il peut endommager le cerveau ou les organes d'un enfant à naître, et ce, sans que la mère ne ressente quoi que ce soit.

REMARQUE: Le montage doit être effectué par un expert. Un détecteur de CO ne se substitue en aucune façon à un détecteur de
fumée ou d'incendie. Conçu exclusivement pour un usage domestique, ce détecteur est impropre à une utilisation dans des locaux
commerciaux et industriels ou sur des bateaux de sport et de navigation professionnelle. Certaines substances peuvent entraver
durablement le bon fonctionnement de l’appareil. Par conséquent, veillez à tenir les substances suivantes à distance de l'appareil:

3 • EMPLACEMENT DE MONTAGE
Installez le détecteur le plus au centre possible d'une surface libre et à proximité de sources de danger potentielles (p. ex.
chaudières à gaz). En cas de montage au mur, une distance minimale de 1,5m avec le sol et de 0,20m avec le plafond
doit être respectée. En cas de montage au plafond, une distance minimum de 0,20m avec le mur doit être respectée.
4 • INSTALLATION / MONTAGE
Recommandation pour une sécurité optimale: Placez un détecteur de CO dans chaque chambre, dans toutes les pièces
dotées d'un chauffage au gaz, d'une cuisinière/d'un four ou d'une cheminée ouverte ainsi que dans les couloirs de chaque
étage et dans les garages en sous-sol.
Recommandation pour une protection de base: Placez un détecteur de CO dans les couloirs et dans toutes les pièces
dotées d'un chauffage au gaz, d'une cuisinière/d'un four ou d'une cheminée ouverte.
1. Détachez la plaquette de montage du détecteur de CO en la faisant légèrement tourner dans le sens inverse des
aiguilles d'une montre (fig. 1).
2. Une fois l'emplacement de montage défini, fixez la plaquette de montage au mur à l'aide des chevilles et des vis
fournies (fig. 2) ou le plus au centre possible du plafond.
À l'arrière du détecteur de CO PROTECTOR CD 45 se trouvent des bornes avec serrage à vis (fig. 3.2) qui, en cas
d'alarme, offrent les possibilités suivantes:
Le détecteur de CO PROTECTOR CD 45 est équipé d'un contact sec permettant le raccordement, par exemple, à une
installation de signalisation de danger, un transmetteur téléphonique, une lumière d'avertissement, etc. Pour accéder
aux bornes avec serrage à vis, poussez la plaque de recouvrement (fig. 3.1) vers le bas, jusqu'au milieu du détecteur.
Veillez à respecter la polarité lors du câblage!
3. Avant de fixer le détecteur de CO à la plaquette de montage, ouvrez le compartiment à piles en appuyant sur le
dispositif de déverrouillage (fig. 4.1) tout en poussant le couvercle vers le bas (fig. 4.2). Insérez les 3piles en respectant
les polarités (fig. 5) – les piles exercent ainsi une pression sur les petits axes rouges. Une fois les piles correctement
positionnées, le détecteur émet un court signal sonore et les 3 LED (fig. 4.3) s'allument brièvement. Après quelques
secondes, les LED rouge et verte clignotent pendant 5minutes env. pour indiquer que l'appareil est en mode d'initialisation.
4. La mise en service n'est terminée qu'après la fixation du détecteur de CO sur la plaquette de montage. Si cette fixation
n'est pas effectuée, la LED jaune s'allume et le détecteur émet, après 6minutes environ, un signal sonore qui se répète
ensuite toutes les 60secondes (voir Fonctions). Faites tourner le détecteur sur la plaquette de montage dans le sens des

aiguilles d'une montre (fig. 6) jusqu'à ce qu'il s'y emboîte. La LED jaune s'éteint alors et le signal sonore cesse.
5.
Fermez le compartiment à piles en repositionnant le couvercle et en le poussant vers le haut jusqu'à ce qu'il s'emboîte parfaitement.
6. Vérifiez que le détecteur fonctionne en appuyant sur le bouton Test/Mute (voir Maintenance/Test de fonctionnement et fig. 4.2).
5 • DESCRIPTION FONCTIONNELLE
Le détecteur est doté d'un dispositif contrôlant l'état des piles. Lorsque ces dernières sont épuisées, toutes les 60 secondes
environ, le détecteur émet un signal sonore et la LED jaune (fig. 4.3) s'allume brièvement. À ce stade, le détecteur dispose
encore de 7 jours d'autonomie, mais les piles doivent être changées au plus vite. Lorsque l'alarme retentit, vous pouvez
l'interrompre en appuyant brièvement sur le bouton Test/Mute (fig. 4.2).

7 • MAINTENANCE
Remplacement des piles
Les piles doivent être changées au moins une fois par an, ainsi que dès que l'appareil signale qu'elles sont épuisées par un
signal sonore. Pour procéder à cette opération, ne démontez pas le détecteur.
1. Ouvrez le compartiment des piles en appuyant sur le dispositif de déverrouillage (fig. 4.1) tout en poussant le couvercle
vers le bas (fig. 4.2). Ne jetez pas les piles avec les déchets ménagers. Le consommateur final est tenu par la loi de
les remettre à un organisme qui les éliminera en bonne et due forme. Pour ce faire, ramenez-les au point de vente ou
déposez-les dans un centre de récupération. La reprise est gratuite.
2. Insérez les 3piles neuves en respectant les polarités (fig. 5) – les piles exercent ainsi une pression sur les petits axes rouges.
Si les piles sont correctement positionnées, le détecteur émet un court signal sonore.

3. Fermez le compartiment à piles en repositionnant le couvercle et en le poussant vers le haut jusqu'à ce qu'il s'emboîte
parfaitement.
4. Contrôlez le bon fonctionnement du détecteur (voir Test de fonctionnement).
Nous vous recommandons les piles alcalines 1,5V de type AA/Mignon Energizer E91
Dans des conditions d'utilisation normales, les batteries neuves assurent une autonomie d'environ 1 an – une durée
également conditionnée par le nombre de tests réalisés. L'exposition prolongée à des températures trop élevées ou trop
basses, ou encore à un fort taux d'humidité, limite la durée de vie des piles.
Test de fonctionnement
Contrôlez chaque semaine le bon fonctionnement du détecteur : lancez un test en appuyant brièvement sur le bouton
Test/Mute (fig. 4.2). Lors du test, le détecteur émet 2 signaux courts et puissants et les 3 LED (fig. 4.3) s'allument brièvement.
Ensuite, le détecteur se remet en mode normal.
Nettoyage du détecteur de CO
La poussière déposée à l'intérieur du détecteur peut être aspirée de l'extérieur par la fente d'aération à l'aide d'un
aspirateur. L'extérieur du boîtier peut être nettoyé au moyen d'un chiffon légèrement humide. N'utilisez en aucun cas des
nettoyants ménagers contenant de l'ammoniac (ammoniaque) ou d'autres produits chimiques (comme des détergents ou
des solvants) sur le détecteur ou à proximité de celui-ci. N'appliquez ni peinture ni vernis sur le détecteur!
8 • MARCHE À SUIVRE EN CAS D'ALARME
1. Allez immédiatement à l'air frais (à l'extérieur ou près d'une fenêtre/porte ouverte).
2. Appelez les pompiers.
3. Ne retournez pas dans la zone concernée ou ne vous éloignez pas de la fenêtre/porte ouverte.
4. Attendez l'arrivée des pompiers.
5. Aérez minutieusement toutes les pièces.
6. Lorsque plus aucun danger n'est à signaler, le détecteur de CO interrompt automatiquement son alarme et se remet en
mode normal.
9 • REMARQUES
REMARQUE: cet appareil ne doit en aucun cas être jeté avec les ordures ménagères. Les propriétaires d'équipements électriques ou
électroniquesusagésont en effet l'obligationlégale de les déposer dansun centre de collecte sélective. Informez-vous auprèsdevotre
municipalité sur les possibilités de recyclage.
REMARQUE: Les piles usagées ne doivent en aucun cas être jetées avec les ordures ménagères. Leurs propriétaires ont en effet
l'obligation légale de les ramener à leur point de vente, où elles seront reprises gratuitement. Les piles contiennent des substances
dangereuses pour l'environnement et la santé et doivent être recyclées selon la réglementation en vigueur.

garantit les appareils ESYLUX contre les défauts de fabrication et de matériaux pour une durée de 3 ans à partir

L’usure naturelle, les modifications de l’appareil dues à son milieu d’installation et les dommages résultant de son
transport n’entrent pas dans le cadre de la garantie. De même, ne sont pas couverts les défauts dus au non-respect
des instructions de montage et d’entretien et/ou à une installation inappropriée. Sont également exclues de la

La procédure de garantie ne pourra être enclenchée que sur présentation d’un appareil non modifié après
constatation du défaut, ainsi que d’un ticket de caisse valable, accompagnés d’une courte description de
l’anomalie constatée et expédié au garant dans un emballage approprié et suffisamment affranchi. Si le
recours en garantie s’avère justifié, le garant peut décider soit de réparer, soit de remplacer l’appareil dans les
meilleurs délais. La garantie ne comprend aucun autre recours. Le garant n’est notamment pas responsable de

Wij feliciteren u met de aankoop van dit ESYLUX kwaliteitsproduct. Voor een goede werking van het product dient u deze montage-/
bedieningshandleiding zorgvuldig door te lezen en te bewaren, om later na te kunnen lezen.
1 • VEILIGHEIDSINSTRUCTIES
Het product is alleen bestemd voor normaal gebruik (volgens de gebruiksaanwijzing). Aanpassingen, toevoegingen of
schilderen zijn verboden omdat hierdoor iedere garantieaanspraak vervalt. U dient het apparaat onmiddellijk na het
uitpakken op beschadigingen te controleren. Bij beschadiging mag het apparaat in geen geval in gebruik genomen
worden. Wanneer aannemelijk is dat veilig gebruik niet gewaarborgd kan worden, dient u het apparaat direct buiten
gebruik te stellen en onbedoeld gebruik ervan te voorkomen.
2 • BESCHRIJVING
Een CO-melder is een melder die de concentratie koolmonoxide in de lucht detecteert en alarm slaat zodra deze te
hoog is.
Deze koolmonoxidemelder is niet geschikt als rookmelder of detector voor brandbare gassen!
De uitvoering van de melder PROTECTOR CD 45 is gebaseerd op apparaattype A – voor optische en akoestische
alarmering en met een functie in de vorm van een uitgangssignaal dat kan worden gebruikt om een ventilatie direct of
indirect in te schakelen of om een andere hulpinrichting te activeren.
Wat u over koolmonoxide (CO) moet weten
Koolmonoxide (CO) is een gevaarlijk gif. Het is een kleur-, reuk- en smaakloos gas. CO-gas ontstaat door de verbranding
van koolstofhoudend materiaal en wel dan wanneer onvoldoende zuurstof beschikbaar is.
Dit gevaar kan bijvoorbeeld bij verwarmingsketels, kachels en uitlaatgassen van auto’s ontstaan. Dit gif concentreert
zich in het bloed en verhindert daar het transport van zuurstof, wat tot dood door verstikking kan leiden. Zelfs geringe
concentraties van CO-gas kan bij ongeboren baby’s leiden tot hersenletsel of andere orgaanschade zonder dat de
gezondheid van de moeder eronder lijdt.

OPMERKING: De montage dient door gekwalificeerd personeel te worden uitgevoerd. Een CO-melder kan geen rookmelder,
brandmelder of andere brandverklikkers vervangen! Deze melder is bedoeld voor gebruik in woonhuizen. Hij is niet geschikt voor
commerciëleof industriëletoepassingen, of voor gebruik op pleziervaartuigenofin de beroepsscheepvaart.Deonderstaande stoffen
kunnen de werking van het apparaat nadelig beïnvloeden. Houd het apparaat daarom altijd uit de buurt van:
• Ammoniak/ammonia • Kwastenreiniger • Verfverdunner • Thinner
Het kan mensen met bepaalde medische aandoeningen geen volledige bescherming bieden en chronische gevolgen van
blootstelling van het menselijk lichaam aan koolmonoxide niet voorkomen (zie ook EN 50292:2001, bijlage A). Het is niet
bedoeld als vervanging voor het op juiste wijze installeren, gebruiken en onderhouden van apparaten die op brandstof
werken, met inbegrip van bijbehorende ventilatie- en rookgasafvoersystemen.
Wij raden u aan de CO-melder na vijf jaar te vervangen. Volg bij het installeren van uw CO-melder de instructies in deze
gebruiksaanwijzing nauwkeurig op.
Vergeet niet dat er nog andere gevaren bestaan waarbij de CO-detectie van deze melder u niet kan helpen, bijvoorbeeld
gaslekken, brand of explosies. Hiervoor raden wij u onze gas- en rookmelders aan. Meer informatie vindt u op het

3 • MONTAGEPLAATS
Monteer de melder zoveel mogelijk in het midden op een vrij vlak en in de buurt van potentiële bronnen van gevaar (bijv.
gasketels). Bij wandmontage dient de minimale afstand meer dan 1,5 m van de vloer en meer dan 0,2 m van het plafond
te zijn. Bij plafondmontage dient de minimale afstand meer dan 0,2 m van de wand te bedragen.
4 • INSTALLATIE / MONTAGE
Aanbeveling voor optimale veiligheid: Installeer een CO-melder in elk van de kinder- en slaapkamers, in alle ruimtes met
gasverwarmingen, kachels, fornuizen of haarden, in de gangen van elke verdieping en in de keldergarage.
Aanbeveling voor minimale bescherming: Installeer een CO-melder in elk van de gangen en in ruimtes met gasverwarmingen,
kachels, fornuizen of haarden.
1. Verwijder de montageplaat door deze voorzichtig tegen de klok in van de CO-melder af te draaien (fig. 1).
2. Bepaal de juiste plaats en bevestig de montageplaat met de meegeleverde pluggen en schroeven aan de wand (fig. 2)
of zoveel mogelijk in het midden van het plafond.
Op de achterkant van de CO-melder PROTECTOR CD 45 bevinden zich aansluitklemmen (fig. 3.2) die bij een alarm de
volgende mogelijkheden bieden:
De CO-melder PROTECTOR CD 45 heeft een potentiaalvrij contact voor aansluiting op bijvoorbeeld een alarm-
meldcentrale, telefoonkiezer, waarschuwingslamp etc.
Om bij de aansluitklemmen te komen drukt u de afdekplaat (fig. 3.1) omlaag en schuift u deze naar het midden van de
melder. Let bij het aansluiten van de bedrading op de polariteit!
3. Alvorens de CO-melder op de montageplaat te bevestigen opent u het batterijvak door op de ontgrendeling (fig. 4.1)
drukken en tegelijkertijd het deksel van het batterijvak (fig. 4.2) naar beneden te schuiven. Plaats de 3 batterijen
