INTRODUCTION
Greystone CO2 detectors are available in two (2) basic configurations; Space or Duct. Each of these configurations
are available with optional accessories including relay output and LED for local display of the PPM level of Carbon
Dioxide.
SPACE MOUNT
Each CO2 detector comes with a standard 4-20mA output and 0-10 Vdc output signal (spanned 0-2000 ppm) and can
be powered by either AC or DC. This device has available, as options, one (1) SPDT relay, LED. Enclosures are an
attractive white color and measure 12.7 cm (H) x 9.3 cm (W) x 4.2 cm (D) (5’ x 3.7” x 1.75”).
DUCT MOUNT
Each CO2 detector comes standard with standard 4-20mA and 0-10 Vdc output signal (spanned 0-2000 ppm) and can
be powered by either AC or DC. This device has available, as options, one (1) SPDT relay and LED. Duct sampling
enclosures are 16.5 cm (H) x 10.6 cm (W) x 6.5 cm (D) (6.5” x 4.2” x 2.5”), and comes complete with a sampling tube
that extends 19.3 cm (7.5”) from the back of the enclosure.
WARRANTY: Greystone Energy Systems Inc. will repair, or replace, any product it deems a manufacturers’
defect for a period of one year beyond invoice date, at no charge to the customer, (calibration
excluded). If a failed product is requested in advance of evaluation, and/or repair, the
customer will be invoiced for a new product and the repaired product will be returned to that
customer.
NOTE: Always confirm, prior to installation of the device (s), that the applications and configurations
are as they were intended and suitable for. The PC boards are static sensitive, always ground
yourself prior to handling the board.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
To mount the unit, first remove the cover casing by
removing the screws. The space unit can be mounted di-
rectly to a plaster-type wall or junction box at 100 cm to 150
cm. (3 ft. to 5 ft.) off the floor.
The duct mounted unit comes complete with sampling
chamber and tube to circulate the air within the chamber.
This is to be mounted on the return air in an easily ac-
cessible area. To mount cut a 50 mm (2”) hole in the center
of the duct and affix the unit using the mounting tabs pro-
vided.

Power requirements - Each transmitter requires 10 Vac to 28 Vac or 12 Vdc to 38 Vdc at terminal J4.
Output – All transmitters have a 4-20mA and a 0-10 Vdc (J5) output and/or optional SPDT relay.
The 4-20mA signal must respect the following loop conditions where:
12< V source < 24 Vdc and where the resistance must follow the following equation:
Total resistance < ( V source - 4 volts)

Total resistance = R1 + R2 + Ra where R1 & R2 are cable resistance & Ra is the sense resistance.
4-20ma JUMPER SETTINGS: All CO2 sensors are shipped in the Passive configuration.
Passive configuration requires
separate 24Vdc supply to power

RELAY OUTPUT
Relay is factory set at 1000 PPM ON & 800 PPM OFF
Connect a voltmeter at the 0-10Vdc.
ON - Configure S1 -,-off,off,-,off,off,on
adjust P3 to the voltage (V) corresponding to the
concentration (C) activating the relay.
OFF - Configure S1 -,-,off,off,-,off,off,off
adjust P2 to the voltage (V) corresponding to the
concentration (C) de-activating the relay.
If - (C) = 1000 PPM , 10 volt x (C) =(V) 5 volts

LCD DISPLAY
Set dip switch (S1) #2 to on to enable
Set dip switch (S1) #2 to off to disable
CALIBRATION
Please call Greystone for calibration information or for other
technical information.
NORMAL OPERATION
To activate the sensor for the analog and relay outputs, dip
switch #3 on S1 must be in the ON position.
