1 Product Overview
The Assist Call Repeater is compatible with the Crisis Network range of Disabled Refuge, Fire Telephone and Assist Call emergency assistance
alarms. The Assist Call Repeater Panel provides remote annunciation and acknowledgement of Assist Call activation as part of a Crisis network
system. The Crisis Assist Call Repeater is ideal for mounting within a reception desk or on a wall due to its compact size and pleasing aesthetics.
2 Operation
In Normal operation the green power on LED will be illuminated, the screen switches o 5 minutes after the last operation.
When the Assist Call Repeater Panel is activated, the blue halo indication flashes, the staus LED and the buzzer sounds to make the user aware
that there is an alarm. The alarm location will be displayed on the screen.
To accept the alarm, touch the pull cord screen icon. The blue halo will be continuously lit, and the buzzer will beep periodically to indicate the
alarm has been acknowledged.
Acknowledging the alarm provides audible and visual feedback to the occupant of the WC that help is on the way.
Up to three alarms are shown on the screen at any time. If further alarms are present, these can be scrolled through using the touch screen. The
quantity of alarms present on the system at any time is displayed on the bottom line.
When the alarm is cancelled, the blue halo will be extinguished, and the buzzer silenced.
3 Installation
Anti-static handling guidelines
Make sure that electrostatic handling precautions are taken immediately before handling PCBs and other static sensitive components.
Before handling any static-sensitive items, operators should get rid of any electrostatic charge by touching a sound safety earth. Always handle
PCBs by their sides and avoid touching any components.
Remove the equipment from its packing, and check the contents against the following list:

3.1 Connections
The Crisis Assist Call Repeater mounts onto a 25mm UK double gang back box.

The connection port on the Assist Call Repeater are marked 'To EX8' which should be connected to the port marked as 'To Desk Handset' in the
Crisis Network Expander.
The cable should be continuous with no joins/junctions and terminated with a RJ45-8 plug at each end. A 30m patch lead is ideal.
30m maximum distance.
All system wiring should be installed to meet the appropriate parts of BS 7671 (Wiring Regulations). Other national standards of installation should
be adhered to where applicable.
Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Wiring: Always segregate low voltage wiring from the mains wiring.
3.2 Commissioning
1. The Assist Call Repeater receives all data and power from the Network Expander panel therefore it must be first connected via the CAT5
cable.
2. Next enter the engineer menu on the Crisis EVC Network Master Station and press the 'Load' button.
3. When the Assist Call Repeater has received the site configuration data the time and date will be synchronised.
When the info button is pressed the display shows the site details, the expander pane’s name and network address number that the Assist Call
Repeater is connected to and the software version.
The CAT5 cable connection is monitored if received data is compromised the Assist Call Repeater Status Led will illuminate yellow. If connection
to the Network Expander panel is lost, then it will be indicated on the Crisis EVC Network Master Station.
