BEFORE USING THE SCALE
Thank you for purchasinganEXCELLHigh Precision Electronic Digital
Scale. In order touse thescaleproperly, please read this User Manual
carefullybeforeuse. If you have a problem concerning the scale, please
contact your supplier.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
1) Pleasekeep thescale inacool dryplace. Do not storeit at high
temperature.
2) Do not allowany liquids tocomeinto contact with the scale. If necessary
wipe the scale with a drysoft clothe.
3) Avoid objects impactingwith the scale. Donot drop loads ontothe scale
or subject the weigh pan toanystrongshock loads.
4) The load placed on the weigh pan must not exceedthemaximum
weighing capacityof thescale.
5) If thescale is not goingtobeused for some time, please clean it and
store it in aplastic bag indryconditions. Adesiccant sachet maybe
includedto prevent anymoisturebuildup.
6) Do not mixdifferent types of drybatteries or mixuseddrybatteries with
newdrybatteries.

PREPARING TO USE THE SCALE
1. Locate thescaleona firm level surfacefree from vibrations for
accurateweight readings.
2. Adjust thefour levelling feet (if fitted) toset thescale panlevel using
the spirit level bubble located at thefront of thescale.
3. Avoid operatingthescaleindirect sunlight or drafts of anykind.
4. If possible avoid connecting thescaleto ac power outlet sockets which
are adjacent toother appliances tominimise thepossibilityof
interference affecting theperformanceof thescale.
5. Remove anyweight that might be onthe weigh pan before thescale is
switchedon and avoid leaving weight on the panfor long periods of
time
6. All goods weighed shouldbeplaced in thecentre of theweigh panfor
accurateweighing. The overall dimensions of the goods being
weighed shouldnot exceed the dimension of theweigh pan.
7. Oncethe scale has beenpowered on, it will gothrough anLCD display
test and it is readyfor use when the displayshows zero.
8. The scalerequires 15~20 minutes warm up beforeoperation toensure
best accuracy.
9. Pleasenote when the symbol keeps flashingon the screen, the
batteries need to be replaced.

OK : The weight on weigh pan is equal to the OK limit
LO : The weight on weigh pan is lower than the check value

Pcs : Piece units. When “Pcs”is displayed, it means the scale is in “sampling

Zero statusindication, when displayed the scale is at the centre of its zero

Net : The displayshows the goods weight, not including the weight ofany
container. This Net status indication is on when the TARE function is used
: Batterystatus indication. When this symbol is flashing replace the
batteries.

STABLE : The weight is stable.

GROSS : The scale is in the gross mode. The displayshows the goods and any
container weight. ThisGross statusindication is on when the TARE

1-5 KEYBOARD FUNCTION
ON/ZERO KEY
This keypossessestwo functions: Power On and Zero function.
OFF KEY
When the scale is switched on, press the OFF key, the scale will switch off.
TARE KEY
The tare function will not operate during the following conditions:
(1) When the scale powers on ifthe weight is negative and after a container is
placed on the weigh pan ifthe weight is still belowzero.
(2) The tare value is over the full scale capacity.
UNITS KEY
Press the UNITS keyto switch weight units; the icons will indicate the active units.
NET/GROSS KEY
In the Tare mode, the screen displays the “TARE”icon; pressthe NET/GROSS key
to switch between the “Net value”and the “Gross value”.

1-6 OPERATING THE SCALE
POWER ON
When the scale is off, press the ON/ZERO key, the scale will switch on.
POWER OFF
When the scale is on, press the OFF key, the scale will switch off.
ZERO
When the weigh pan isempty(free ofload) and the displayis not showing zero,
press the ON/ZERO keyto zero the scale. At zero, the “à0ß”indication is on.
4When the weight value is within the zero range, the zero function operates to
zero the scale or cancel the tare function.
4Zero range: The OIML&NTEPmodels haveazero range of ±2% of Full Scale.
The Sri Lanka model has a zero range of ±4% ofFull Scale.
SWITCHING UNITS
Press the UNITS keyto switch weight units, the icons or arrowswill indicate the
active units as appropriate. The units available are dependent on the exact scale
model.
4After power off, the scale will memorize the active units. When the scale is
powered on again, it displays the previouslyactive units.
TARE FUNCTION
(1) Put a container on the weigh pan and after the weight is stable, press the TARE
keyto zero the weight ofthe container. The screen displays the “Net”icon.
(2) Put the goods in the container, the screen displays the net weight value ofthe
goods.
(3) Remove the full container; the screen displays the negative weight value ofthe
container. At this time pressing the TARE keyagain will cancel the tare and
the scale reverts back to zero. The “Net”icon is switched off.
4The tare function can be operated continuallyto the full weighing capacityof
the scale.
4Continual tare operation is adding or removing tare objects on weigh pan and
pressing the TARE key each time.

NET/GROSS FUNCTION
In the Tare mode, the screen displays the “Net”icon, pressthe NET/GROSS keyto
switch between the “Net value”and the “Gross value”.
4When the 6GROSS icon is on, the weight value on the displayis the total
amount ofthe tare value and net value.
4At the Gross status, onlyOFF and NET/GROSS keys are functional.
4NET/GROSS keyis onlyused in Tare mode.
SIMPLE COUNTING FUNCTION
(1) Use the UNITS keyto enter into the “PCS”mode
(2) Press the NET/GROSS keyto select the counting sample size
(S = 10, S = 20, S = 50, S = 100, S=200). The LCD shows , ,
, , in order.
(3) Put the samples on the weigh pan and press the UNITSkey, the screen
displays “------”. After the sampling process iscomplete, put the goods on the
weigh pan and the screen shows the quantityofthe items.
4The sample weight should be heavier then the minimum capacityofthe scale
(20d), If not the arrowpointing to the icon will be activated.
4The weight of a sample should be heavier than the 0.2d (d=division), or the
arrowpointing to the icon will be on.
4When the or are indicated the scale is still operational but the
count maycontain errors.
4To power offin this mode, the scale will memorize the “Pcs”unit. When the
scale is powered on again, it directlyenters the simple counting mode.
4While the “Auto unit weight average”function is available in the Advanced
Function, the goods on the weigh pan are 5pcs greater than the sample size
and less than double the sample size, the scale will automaticallyre-sample the
unit weight.
