This is a quick and easy fitting guide for
your leg braces.
Please read through the entire guide
before setting up your brace.
Listed to the left are the parts that will
need to be adjusted to fit.
It is likely to take a couple of attempts to
fit and adjust the brace to where it fits and
perform correctly.
If you are having problems with the brace
fitting correctly, see the trouble shooting
section.

STEP 1) Open the straps

•Put the leg brace down and open the
Velcro straps up, this way you’ll be able to
see how they loop round and fix into
place.
•If required or preferred these straps can
be removed and turned around, so that
they fasten on the inside of the leg instead
of the outside. Just remember that each
strap is different, so it’s important to not
mix them up.
•The neoprene padding on each strap is
also fixed in place with Velcro so it can be
removed and adjusted on the Velcro strap,
so it fits in the correct place for the user.
When removing the pads, remember to gently
peel them off at the Velcro to reduce the
chance of tearing the neoprene due to the
strength of the Velcro

STEP 2) Adjust the hinge

•Put the knee brace over your leg with the
centre of the hinge at the centre pivot
point of your knee, as shown in the
picture to the left. You can bend and
straighten your leg to work out where the
pivot point of your knee is and therefore
wear to put the brace.
•The brace can be lengthened and
shortened by unbolting the hinge and
moving them up and down the bolts
holes. It is important to keep a bolt
configuration as shown in the photo to
ensure the strength of the brace.
•You may have to adjust the length of the
brace with the hinge bolts multiple times
to get the correct fit for you.
•Often you may have to complete the
fitting process to decide how much this
needs moving from the stock provided
setting.

Suggested hinge settings
Take a tape measure and measure the
length of your lower leg, ankle bone to
knee centre and knee centre to hip bone.
Compare this to the chart below.

Tip:
If the brace feels like its riding up and
needs pushing down lengthen the lower
section, if the brace feels like it needs
pulling up or is too low on the calf shorten
the lower section.

•Using the allen key and spanner provided
you can unbolt the hinge to move it up
and down the bolt holes to increase or
decrease length as required.
•Always use 4 bolts in the hinge fitment to
ensure strength and stability (spare bolts
are included in the kit).
•Also included and fitted are spacer plates
on the hinge to increase the gap at the
knee joint. It is worth trying the brace
without these spacers if there is sufficient
space at the knee to do so, this will reduce
the width of the brace and making it
slimmer, shorter 10mm bolts are included
to be used if the spacer plates aren’t
necessary.

Fitment of different spacer lengths
Included are 5 different lengths of spacer
plates, 2 for the lower half of the hinge, 3 for
the upper half of the hinge. Each in their own
corresponding bags. Each one is for a different
length of adjustment on the hinge as seen in
the example on the photos on the left. This is
to ensure a comfortable fit by not having the
spacers protrude where not necessary while
also retaining strength and rigidity by not
having spacers too short that leaves gaps
between the parts.

STEP 3) Fit the upper calf strap

It is recommended that each time you wear the
knee brace you fit it in this sequence to ensure
a good fit.
•Sat down, with your leg bent to 90
degrees, place the brace over your leg and
ensure that the hinge point of the brace is
in line with the hinge point of your knee.
•Then loop through and tighten the top calf
strap as shown in the photo.
•Tighten this to about 80-90% of what is
possible.
This is the most important strap to position
correctly, so make sure this is in the right place
before moving on.
