Overview
The Extron SMA-2 swivel mount adapter kit is used for mounting
select tabletop TouchLink Pro touchpanels. The assembly can be
rotated up to 360°, providing easy access for multiple users sitting
around a table. The provided set screws x the exact angle of rotation
in each direction to prevent cable strain and tangling.
ATTENTION:
• If the SMA-2 will be installed into ne furniture, it is best
to hire a licensed, bonded craftsperson to cut the access
hole and perform the physical installation so the surface
will not be damaged.

Step One — Prepare the Site
Choose a location for the SMA-2. The mounting site must be free of
obstructions above and below the table so that the touchpanel can
rotate without the cables getting tangled.
Step Two — Secure the Base Plate to the Table
1. Before securing the base plate to the bottom of the table, use
the provided hex key to insert the set screws into the base plate.
Figure 1 shows how to position the set screws to limit clockwise and
counter-clockwise rotation. You must have at least one set screw to
prevent the cables from becoming tangled and strained.
Secure the set screw(s).

2. Mark the position where the barrel of the mounting plate passes
through the table and drill a hole through the table that is 1-1/8"
(29 mm) in diameter (see gure 2, 1). If needed, use the base plate
as a template to mark the position of the hole.
3. Place base plate against the bottom surface of the table so that the
central hole of the base plate aligns with the hole in the table. Use
the threaded barrel of the mounting plate to help with the alignment.
NOTES:
• Ensure the base plate is in the correct orientation with
the concave surface facing away from the table (see
gure 2).
• Ensure the base plate is aligned so that the set screws
stop the rotation of the assembly as required.

4. Mark the position of the holes for the two mounting screws and drill
two pilot holes, diameter 7/64" (2).
5. Secure the base plate to the bottom of the table with the two
provided #6 round head wood mounting screws (3).

Step Three — Secure the Touchpanel Mounting Plate to the Touchpanel
1. Before securing the mounting plate to the touchpanel, ensure the
CATx cable is inserted into the LAN/PoE connector on the base of
the touchpanel (see gure 3, 1).
You may need to remove the cover to get access to the LAN/PoE
connector, which is in the side wall of the recessed area.
2. If a cable is pre-installed in the touchpanel, remove it from the
cable guide at the back of the touchpanel base and reroute it
through the threaded barrel of the mounting plate.
3. Use the two provided #6-32 at head screws (2) to secure the
mounting plate to mounting holes in the base of the touchpanel.

Step Four — Complete the Installation
1. Insert the threaded barrel of the mounting plate through
the hole in the table and through the base plate (see
gure 4, 1).
2. From under the table, thread the network cable through
the components of the kit, in the following order:
a. Frictionless disk
b. Swivel disk
c. Lock nut
3. Insert the frictionless disk (2) into the base plate.
4. Place the swivel disk (3) over the frictionless disk.
Ensure that the tooth is correctly placed between the
set screws.
5. Secure the assembly with the lock nut (4). Ensure
that the nut is in the correct orientation so that the
sharpened tangs grip the swivel disk.
Do not overtighten: the assembly must be free to
rotate.
