Important safety precautions
This section contains important information on the safe and
efficient operation of your mobile device.
For your safety, please refer to the guideline prior to using the
phone.
Note: Failure to comply with the following precautions may
be dangerous or illegal.
Drive safely at all times
Do not use a hand-held phone while driving. Park the vehicle first.
Switch off the phone when refueling
Do not use the phone at a refueling point (service station) or near fuels or
chemicals.
Switch off in an aircraft
Wireless phones can cause interference. Using them in an aircraft is both
illegal and dangerous.
Switch off the phone near all medical equipment
Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be
sensitive to external radio frequency energy. Follow any regulations or
rules in force.
Interference
All wireless phones may be subject to interference, which could affect
their performance.

Be aware of special regulations
Meet any special regulations in force in any area and always switch off
your phone whenever it is forbidden to use it, or when it may cause
interference or danger.
Water resistance
Your phone is not water-resistant. Keep it dry.
Sensible use
Use only in the normal position (held to the ear). Avoid unnecessary
contact with the antenna when the phone is switched on.
Keep your phone away from small children
Keep the phone and all its parts, including accessories, out of the reach
of small children.
Accessories and batteries
Use only approved batteries and accessories, such as headsets and PC
data cables. Use of any unauthorized accessories could damage you and
your phone and may be dangerous.
If jewelry, keys, beaded chains, or other conductive materials touch
exposed battery terminals, this could complete an electrical circuit (short
circuit), become very hot, and could cause damage or injury. Be careful
when handling a charged battery, particularly when placing it inside a
pocket, purse, or other container with metal objects.
Never use a charger or battery that is damaged in any way.
Use the battery only for its intended purpose.
If you use the phone near the network’s base station, it uses less power.
Talk and standby time are greatly affected by the signal strength on the
cellular network and the parameters set by the network operator.
Battery charging time depends on the remaining battery charge, the
type of battery, and the charger used. The battery can be charged and
discharged hundreds of times, but it will gradually wear out. When the
operation time is noticeably shorter than normal, it is time to buy a new
battery.
If left unused, a fully charged battery will discharge itself over time.
Use only approved batteries, and recharges your battery only approved
chargers. Disconnect the charger from the power source when it is not
in use. Do not leave the battery connected to a charger for more than a
week, since overcharging may shorten its life.
Extreme temperatures will affect the charging capacity of your battery:
it may require cooling or warming first.
Do not leave the battery in hot or cold places because the capacity and
lifetime of the battery will be reduced. Try to keep the battery at room
temperature. A phone with a hot or cold battery may not work
temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged.
Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can occur
when a metallic object like a coin, clip or pen causes a direct
connection between the + and – terminals of the battery (metal strips
on the battery). For example, do not carry a spare battery in a pocket or
bag where the battery may contact metal objects. Short-circuiting the
terminals may damage the battery or the object causing the short-
circuiting.
Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations. Always
recycle. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
The phone could explode if the battery is replaced with an incorrect
type.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
At very high volumes, prolonged listening to a headset can damage
your hearing.
To avoid risk of personal injury, do not dispose of your battery in a fire.
Do not throw your battery or mobile device in the trash.
Charger Operation
Please, read this manual before using the charger, for the correct
operation of the appliance.
Important Safety Instructions
The charger should be used for Li-Ion accumulators charging only.
Do not charge other types of accumulators with this charger.
Do not expose the charger to moisture or rain.
Do not disassemble the charger or the network adapter.
Unplug the network adapter when not in use.
Do not connect this charger with the appliances or peripheral devices,

which are not indicated in this booklet.
It is not recommended to discharge the Li-Ion accumulator before
charging.
For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet shall be installed near the
equipment and shall be easily accessible.
Mobile phone shall only be connected to a USB interface that meets
the requirements of a Limited Power Source according to EN 60950-
1:2001
Specifications Of The Charger
The charger consists of:
Main charger
Adapter plates (the compatibility list is cited on the reverse side of the
package)
Network adapter 110-240V alternating/direct current
Car electric cigar lighter adapter
Advices Concerning Usage
For 110-240V alternating current:
Connect the charger with the network adapter
– insert the adapter into the charger jack.
Plug the network adapter to the wall outlet
For 12V car electric cigar lighter adapter (option):
Connect the charger with the car electric cigar lighter adapter - insert
the adapter into the charger jack, marked as “Input 12-18V DC”.
Plug the adapter into yours car electric cigar lighter (warning: this
charger works under 12V connectors only: passenger cars).
Recycling of accumulators
Accumulators should be disposed in accordance with established rules.
It is forbidden to throw away accumulators along with domestic garbage.
If possible, use specialized organizations services for accumulators
recycling.
Damaged Products
If your mobile device or battery has been submerged in water, punctured,
or subjected to a severe fall, do not use it until you take it to Authorized
and/or Qualified Service Center. Do not attempt to dry it with an external
heat source, such as a microwave oven.
Choking Hazards
Your mobile device or its accessories may include detachable parts,
which may present a choking hazard to small children. Keep your mobile
device and its accessories away from small children.
Road safety
Your wireless phone gives you the powerful ability to communicate by
voice, almost anywhere, anytime. But an important responsibility
accompanies the benefits of wireless phones, one that every user must
uphold. When driving a car, driving is your first responsibility. When using
your wireless phone while driving, follow local regulations in the country
or region you are in.
Use and Care
Your phone is a product of superior design and craftsmanship and should
be treated with care. The suggestions below will help you fulfill any
warranty obligations and allow you to enjoy this product for many years.
Keep the phone and all its parts and accessories out of the reach of
small children and pets. They accidentally damage these things or
choke on small parts.
Keep the phone dry. Precipitation, humidity, and liquids contain
minerals that corrode electronic circuits.
Do not use the phone with a wet hand. Doing so may cause an electric
shock to you or damage to the phone.
Do not use or store the phone in dusty, dirty areas, as its moving parts
may be damaged.
Do not store the phone in hot areas. High temperatures can shorten
the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and warp or melt
certain plastics.
Do not store the phone in cold areas. When the phone warms up to its
normal operating temperature, moisture can form inside the phone,
which may damage the phone’s electronic circuit boards.
Do not drop, knock, or shake the phone. Rough handling can break
internal circuit boards.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to
clean the phone. Wipe it with a soft cloth slightly dampened in a mild

soap-and-water solution.
Do not paint the phone. Paint can clog the device’s moving parts and
prevent proper operation.
Do not put the phone in or on heating devices, such as a microwave
oven, stove, or radiator. The phone may explode when overheated.
When the phone or battery gets wet, phone repairs are no longer
guaranteed by the manufacturer's warranty, even if the warranty for
your phone has not expired.
If your phone has a flash or light, do not use it too close to the eyes of
people or animals. This may cause damage to their eyes.
Use only the supplied or an approved replacement antenna.
Unauthorized antennas or modified accessories may damage the
phone and violate regulations governing radio devices.
Do not attempt to open the phone’s casing. Non-expert handling of the
phone may cause damages to your phone.
If the phone or any of its accessories are not working properly, take
them to your nearest qualified service center. The personnel there will
assist you, and if necessary, arrange for the phone to be repaired.
Using the earpieces or stereo headset for extended time can cause a
serious damage to your hearing. Exposing sound higher than 100db for
a long time, you will get possible ear damage that could results from
extensive usage of audio playback. You are strongly advised to check
the volume level to medium before using.
Do not use the phone while charging the phone. You may be electric-
shocked if you use the phone while charging the phone with the USB
data cable or the battery charger. Make sure to disconnect the USB
data cable or the charger before using the phone.
Don’t expose your phone to water, rain, extreme humidity, sweat, or
other moisture.
Extreme heat or cold ;Avoid temperatures below -10°C/14°F or above
45°C/113°F
Don’t expose your phone to dust, dirt, sand, food, or other
inappropriate materials.
Operating Environment
Remember to follow any special regulations in force in the area you are
in, and always switch off your phone whenever it is forbidden to use it,
or when it may cause interference or danger. When connecting the
phone or any accessory to another device, read its user’s guide for
detailed safety instructions. Do not connect incompatible products.
Operation of any radio-transmitting equipment, including cellular
phones, may interfere with inadequately protected medical devices.
Consult a doctor or the manufacturer of the medical device if you have
any questions. Other electronic equipment may also be subject to
interference.
As with other mobile radio-transmitting equipment, you are advised that
for satisfactory operations and personal safety, the equipment should
only be used in the normal operating position.
Always switch off the phone when refueling (service station). You are
reminded of the need to observe restrictions on the use of radio
equipment in fuel depots (fuel storage and distribution areas), chemical
plants or where blasting operations are in progress.
Do not store or carry flammable liquids, gases or explosive materials in
the same compartment as the phone, its parts or accessories.
Switch off your cellular phone when in aircraft. The use of cellular
phones in aircraft is illegal and may be dangerous to the operation of
the aircraft or disrupt the cellular network. Failure to observe these
instructions may lead to the suspension or denial of cellular telephone
services to the offender, legal action or both.
As with other mobile radio transmitting equipment, users are advised
that for the satisfactory operation of the equipment and for the safety of
personnel, it is recommended that the equipment should only be used
in the normal operating position (held to your ear with the antenna
pointing over your shoulder).
Electronic devices
Most modern electronic equipment is shielded from radio frequency (RF)
signals. However, certain electronic equipment may not be shielded
against the RF signals from your wireless phone. Consult the
manufacturer to discuss alternatives.
Pacemakers
Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum distance of 15 cm
(6 inches) be maintained between a wireless phone and a pacemaker to
avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. These recommendations
are consistent with the independent research and recommendations of

Wireless Technology Research. If you have any reason to suspect that
interference is taking place, switch you’re your phone immediately.
Hearing aids
Some digital wireless phones may interfere with some hearing aids. In
the event of such interference, you may wish to consult your hearing aid
manufacturer to discuss alternatives.
Radio frequency (RF) exposure and SAR
This phone meets European Union (EU) requirements concerning
exposure to radio waves. Your mobile phone is a radio transmitter and
receiver. It is designed and manufactured to not exceed the limits for
exposure to radiofrequency (RF) energy, as recommended by the EU
Council. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and establish
permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines
were developed by independent scientific organizations through the
periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The limits include a
substantial safety margin designed to ensure the safety of all persons,
regardless of age and health. The exposure standard for mobile phones
employs a unit of measurement known as Specific Absorption Rate
(SAR).
Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the unit of measurement for the
amount of radio frequency energy absorbed by the body when using a
mobile phone. The SAR value is determined at the highest certified
power level in laboratory conditions, but the actual SAR level of the
mobile phone while it is operating can be well below this value. This is
because the mobile phone is designed to use the minimum power
required to reach the network. Variations in SAR below the radio
frequency exposure guidelines do not mean that there are variations in
safety. While there may be differences in SAR levels among mobile
phones, all mobile phone models are designed to meet radio frequency
exposure guidelines. Before a phone model is available for sale to the
public, it must be tested and certified by the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) that it does not exceed the limit established by the
government-adopted requirement for safe exposure. The tests are
performed in positions and locations (that is, at the ear and worn on the
body) as required by the FCC for each model. For body-worn operation,
this phone has been tested and meets FCC RF exposure guidelines
when the handset is positioned a minimum of 15 mm from the body
without any metal parts in the vicinity of the phone or when used with the
original accessory intended for this phone and worn on the body. Use of
other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure
guidelines.
The SAR limit recommended by the EU Council is 2.0W/kgA
The highest SAR value for this model phone was 0.817 W/kg.
SAR tests are conducted using standard operating positions with the
phone transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested
frequency bands.

A. The SAR limit for mobile phones used by the public is 2.0
watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over ten grams of body tissue.
The limit incorporates a substantial margin of safety to give
additional protection for the public and to account for any
variations in measurements. The SAR values may vary,
depending on national reporting requirements and the network
band.
SIM AT Service
SIM Card provides several value-added services.
These functions will only display and work on the menu of the phone
when your SIM card is supported. The content and the terms of the
function lists will depend on your network service provider.
Please contact your network service provider (a network operator or the
service provider) in regards with availability of any services related to the
SIM card, application information and the costs.
Other medical devices
If you use any other personal medical devices, consult the manufacturer
of your device to determine if it is adequately shielded from external RF
energy. Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this
information. Switch off your phone in health care facilities when
regulations posted in these areas instruct you to do so.
Health and safety information
Vehicles
RF signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded
electronic systems in motor vehicles. Check with the manufacturer or its

representative regarding your vehicle. You should also consult the
manufacturer of any equipment that has been added to your vehicle.
Posted facilities
Switch off your phone in any facility where posted notices require you to
do so.
Potentially explosive environments
Switch off your phone when in any area with a potentially explosive
atmosphere, and obey all signs and instructions. Sparks in such areas
could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death.
Users are advised to switch off the phone while at a refueling point
(service station). Users are reminded of the need to observe restrictions
on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots (fuel storage and distribution
areas), chemical plants, or where blasting operations are in progress.
Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often but not always
clearly marked. They include the areas below decks on boats, chemical
transfer or storage facilities, vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas, such
as propane or butane, areas where the air contains chemicals or particles,
such as grain, dust or metal powders, and any other area where you
would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.
Emergency calls
This phone, like any wireless phone, operates using radio signals,
wireless, and landline networks as well as user-programmed functions,
which cannot guarantee connection in all conditions. Therefore, you
should never rely solely on any wireless phone for essential
communications like medical emergencies. To make or receive calls, the
phone must be switched on and in a service area with adequate signal
strength. Emergency calls may not be possible on all wireless phone
networks or when certain network services and/or phone features are in
use. Check with local service providers.
To make an emergency call:
1. Key in the emergency number for your present location. Emergency
numbers may vary by location.
2. Press the Send Key.
3. Inform your location. Do not end the call until given permission to do so.
Certain features like Call Barring may need to be deactivated before you
can make an emergency call. Consult this document and your local
cellular service provider.
Other important safety information
Only qualified personnel should service the phone or install the phone
in a vehicle. Faulty installation or service may be dangerous and may
invalidate any warranty applicable to the device.
Check regularly that all wireless phone equipment in your vehicle is
mounted and operating properly.
Do not store or carry flammable liquids, gases, or explosive materials in
the same compartment as the phone, its parts, or accessories.
For vehicles equipped with an air bag, remember that an air bag
inflates with great force. Do not place objects, including installed or
portable wireless equipment, in the area over the air bag or in the air
bag deployment area. Improperly installed wireless equipment could
result in serious injury if the air bag inflates.
Switch off your phone before boarding an aircraft. It is dangerous and
illegal to use wireless phones in an aircraft because they can interfere
with the operation of the aircraft.
Failure to observe these instructions may lead to the suspension or
denial of telephone services to the offender, or legal action, or both.
Qualified service
Only qualified service personnel may repair your phone.
It is highly recommended to have a repair service by qualified service
personnel. Use only the approved accessories and batteries

Note:
All the illustrations, simulated screen and related images used in this

Get started
First steps to operating your phone
SIM card information
When you subscribe to a cellular network, you receive a plug-in SIM
(Subscriber Identity Module) card loaded with your subscription details,
such as your PIN, and available optional services.
Install and charge the phone
1. Remove the battery cover.
If the phone is already on, first turn it off by pressing and holding End
key
2. Insert the SIM card.
Make sure that the gold-colored contacts on the card are face down.
3. Install the battery.
4. Replace the battery cover.
5. Plug the travel adapter into the phone.
6. Plug the adapter into a standard AC wall outlet.
7. When the phone is completely charged (the battery icon
becomes still), unplug the adapter from the power outlet.
8. Remove the adapter from the phone.
9. Switch the Phone On/Off
10. Enter Your Pin (Access Codes)
11. Dial the Phone Number Required
Low battery indicator
When the battery is low a warning tone sounds, the battery low message
displays and the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery level becomes
too low, the phone automatically turns off. Recharge your battery.
Note:
When the battery is discharged completely, and not used for a while,
the phone will not display the charging icon for about 30 minutes while
charging. After 30 minutes of charging, the phone will display the
charging icon

Power On or Off 
1. Hold down the power on/off key for more than one second to switch
on.
2. Enter your SIM card PIN, if requested. The phone searches for your
network and when detected, will display the idle screen. The external
display shows the signal strength, battery strength and current time
and date.
3. When you wish to switch off the phone, hold down the power on/off
key for more than two seconds.
Access Codes
There are access codes for your SIM card. These codes help you to
protect the phone against unauthorized use.
When requested for any of the code explained below, key-in the
appropriate code (displayed as asterisks) and press the OK key.
PIN
The Personal Identification Number or PIN (4-8digits) protects your SIM
card against unauthorized use. The PIN comes with the SIM card; see
the SIM card instruction provided with your card.
If you enter an incorrect PIN three times in succession, the code will be
disabled and cannot be used until you re-enable it by entering the PUK.
PUK
The 8-digit PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) is required to change a
disabled PIN. The PUK may be supplied with the SIM card. If not, or in
case you have lost it, please contact your service provider.
To re-enable your PIN, proceed as follows.
1. Key-in the PUK and press the OK key.
2. Enter a new PIN of your choice and press the OK key.
3. When the Confirm New PIN message is displayed, key-in the
same code again and press the OK key.
If you enter an incorrect PUK ten times in succession, the SIM card
becomes invalid. Please contact your service provider for a new card.
Pin Password
The 4 ~ 8 digits of password is required when you use the Call barring
function. You can obtain the password from your service provider when
you subscribe to this function.

Key Definition
Soft Keys
Perform functions identified on the bottom line of the display.
Navigation Keys
In Menu Mode, Scroll through the menu options.
In Idle mode, access menu options directly.
WAP Key ([OK] Key)
In Idle Mode, Access to WAP menu (press shortly) or launch
WAP browser (press and hold).
In Menu Mode, select the highlighted menu option or confirm
input.
In Camera and video preview mode, work as a shutter.
Send Key
Dial or answer a call.
In the Idle Mode, Recall the last 50 numbers recently dialed,
missed, or received.
Power on/off Key & End Key
End a call.
Switch the phone on and off. (press this key and hold)
In Menu mode, cancel input and return the phone to the Idle
mode.
Alphanumeric Keys
Enter numbers, letters and special characters.
In Idle mode, press and hold [1] to access your Voice Mail.

Camera Key (On the left side of your phone)
Press and hold to start the camera preview mode.
In camera and video preview mode, work as a shutter.
Side Key (On the right side of your phone)
In idle mode, with the phone open, Adjust the Keypad Tone
volume.
Start “voice recording” during a call by pressing and holding
the side key (up). Stop “voice recording” by pressing the
[Stop] soft key.
Adjust the earpiece volume during a call by pressing briefly.
Adjust the Audio Player volume.
Move through months in calendar mode.
In Menu mode, scroll through the menu options.
A. The special function key performs various functions
1. Make the “International Call”
Press the [*] key twice to display “+” character.
Input the country code, area code (without the leading zero),
and the phone number. Then press the Send Key. The “+”
informs the network that it is an international call.
2. Enter the “Pause or Wait”
You may enter a pause (“P”) character into a dial string by
pressing the [*] three times.
Press the [*] four times to enter a wait (“W”) character into a dial
string.
3. Activate or deactivate the “Silent mode”
To activate the “Silent Mode” option, press and hold [#] key in
the idle mode.
4. Activate the “Keypad Lock” option
To activate the “Keypad Lock” option, press and hold [*] key in
the idle mode.

Signal Strength: Shows the strength of the receiving signal.
Greater the number of bars, stronger the signal strength.
GPRS: Shows the strength of the receiving GPRS signal. Greater
the number of bars, stronger the signal strength.
Roaming: Appears when the phone is roaming.
Missed Calls: Appears when there is missed call(s).
New Message: Appears when a new incoming text message is
received and is unread.
MMS Unread: Appears when a new MMS message is arrived and
unread.
MMS Busy: Appears when MMS is busy, while receiving and
sending a message.
Broadcast Message: Appears when Broadcast Message receive
mode is active..
WAP Mail: Appears when WAP mail is received.
Call Barring On: Appears when the call barring mode is active.
Call Forward: Appears when the call forward mode is active.
IrDA: Appears when the IrDA port is activated.
Bluetooth: Appears when the Bluetooth power is on. It has to be
on, if you want to use the Bluetooth function. When you finish
using, turn off the Bluetooth power.
Bluetooth Headset: Appears when the Bluetooth hands-free
headset is connected.
Bluetooth Connected: Appears when the Bluetooth device is
connected.
Vibrate and Ring: Appears when the Vibrate and Ring mode is
active.

Light Only: Appears when the silent mode is active.
Alarm On: Appears when you set the alarm.
Lock: Appears when you set the phone lock.
Battery Strength: Shows the level of your battery. The more bars
you see, the more power you have left.
Headset: appears when you set the Profiles as Headset.

Access menu functions
Use the soft keys
The roles of the soft keys vary depending on the function you are using.
The bottom line of the display indicates their current role.
By pressing the soft keys and Navigation key:
1. Press a desired soft key.
2. Scroll through the menu options with Navigation keys.
- Move the cursor up and down in the normal editing mode.
- Move the cursor to left and right in all editing mode.
3. Choose [Select] soft key or press the [OK] key to confirm the function
displayed or option highlighted.
4. To exit, choose either of the following methods.
- Select [Back] to move up one level.
- Press and hold [End] to return to Idle mode.
* From the screen supporting <Options>, you can open an option list by
selecting an item.
Enter text
Using Keypad
ABC, T9, Number, and Symbol modes
You can enter text in some features such as Messages, Phonebook, or
Calendar, using ABC mode, T9 mode, Number mode, and Symbol mode.
Press the appropriate key until the character you want appears on the
screen.
Text Input Options:
While you are in text editing mode, you will be in several modes.
When you see [Option] and [Clear] in the soft key, press the soft key (left)
for option: you can save the entry or change the Text Input Method. To
erase a character, press the soft key (right) next to the character you
want to erase. There can be more than two options depending on what
contents you are editing.
T9 Text Editing Mode
T9 Text Editing Mode is a predictive text input mode that allows you to
key in any character using single keystrokes.
While you are in T9 editing mode, press the alphanumeric key once for
one character. You will see T9 suggested words.
For example, press 4,3,5,5 and 6 key to enter “hello” in English word
mode. T9 predicts the word that you are typing, and it may change with
each key that you press. And press the [Select] soft key (left) to select the
word you want to write.
If there is no such word in the word list, the left soft key will change from
[Select] to [Add]. Press the [Add] soft key (left) to edit and select ‘Done’ to
save a word to the word list. The next time you enter the word sequence,

you can use the saved word.
You can define the default Input Method of your phone and change
input methods time to time.
To define your preferred input method, go to Phone Setup sub menu in
Settings menu. Then select Preferred Input Method. Once you set the
preferred input method, next time you edit in text input mode, the setting
will be applied until you change to another.
If you want to change the text input method temporarily, in the text input
mode, press [Option] soft key, and select “Input Method” from the option.
• You can change the text input method with the [#] key; the input
methods will swap when you press the [#].
• Press and hold the [*]key to select Symbols.
• Press the [*]key to toggle select cases of abc, Abc, and ABC.
• Press [1] to enter periods or apostrophes automatically.
• Press [0] to insert a space.

1. Phonebook (Menu1)
You can store phone numbers on your SIM card and in your phone’s
memory. The SIM card and phone’s memory are physically separate, but
they are used as a single entity called Phonebook. To access this menu,
press [Menu] in Idle mode and select Phonebook.
1.1 QUICK SEARCH
Use this menu to search for numbers in Phonebook.
Finding an entry
1. Enter the first few letters of the name that you want to find.
2. Select the name you want from the list.
3. Scroll to a number and press [Send] to dial, or press [Option] to edit
the contact information.
1) View: allows you to view the entry’s contents such as name,
number and so on.
2) Edit: allows you to edit the entry items.
3) Delete: allows you to delete the entry.
4) Copy: allows you to copy the entry from SIM to Phone or Phone to
SIM. You will have the same entry in a different storage. (SIM +
Phone)
5) Move: allows you to move the entry from SIM to Phone or Phone to
SIM. The entry will be stored in the original storage. (SIM to Phone,
Phone to SIM)
6) Duplicate: allows you to duplicate the entry in the same storage.
You will have the same data in the same storage. (SIM+SIM,
Phone+Phone)
7) Send SMS: allows you to send SMS to selected name, number of
your phonebook.
8) Send MMS: allows you to send SMS to selected name, number of
your phonebook.
9) Send vCard: allows you to send the phonebook entry by SMS.
1.2 SEARCH ENTRY
When you select the Search Entry, after storing numbers to the
phonebook, you can search them by Name.
1. Enter a name you want to search in the text input box. Input full
name or even a start letter and press the [Option] soft key (left).
2. If there is a name, you want to call, choose the name by using the
Navigation key.
3. Press the Send Key to make a call. However, if there is more than
one entry in the selected name, it will display a list. Then you may
simply select one entry and press the Send Key to make a call.
1.3ADD NEW ENTRY
Use this menu to add a new contact to Phonebook.
Storing a number on the SIM card
1. Enter information about the contact:
• Name: add a name.
• Phone number: add a number.
• Caller Group: assign a caller group.
2. Press [Save] to save the contact.
Storing a number in the phone’s memory
1. Enter information about the contact:
• Name: add a name
• Phone number: add a number.
• Company Name: add a company name.
• Mobile/Home/Office/Fax/: add a number in any category.
You can change the number type, or set the number as the default
for the contact by pressing [Options] and selecting Change type or
Mark as default number.
• E-mail: add an e-mail address.
• Birthday: add a birthday.
• Associate Picture& Video: assign a caller ID image or Video to alert
you to a call from the person.
• Associate Sound: assign a sound to alert you to a call from the
person.
The settings specified in Associate Picture, Video and Sound are
given priority over group settings.
• Caller Group: assign the number to a caller group.
2. Press [Save]
1.4 COPY ALL
You can copy all phonebook data from SIM card to Phone or from
Phone to SIM. It is a useful function if you want to back up your
phonebook data from a SIM card to your phone and vice versa.
1.5 DELETE
You can delete all phonebook data in SIM card or Phone. In addition,

you can delete the phonebook data one by one.
1.6 CALLER GROUP
Use this menu to organize your contacts in caller groups.
Adding members to a caller group
1. Select a caller group.
2. Press [Option] and [Add].
• Group Name: add a group name
3. Press [Edit]-[Option]-[Input Method] and [OK] soft key to change input
method, and select “Done” to save.
• Alert Type; Ring / Vibration only / Vibration then Ring / Vibration and
Ring / Light Only / None
• Melody: Allows you to select the ring tone to be used when you
receive a call from a person in the group. Scroll with the Navigation
key.
• Picture: Allows you to select incoming call picture when you receive
a call from a person in the group. Scroll with the Navigation key to
change the picture and go to the next line to select. If you want to
view and select images, select the [View] soft key (left) and scroll
with the Navigation key. To select the picture, press the [OK] soft key
(left).
• Associate Video
• Member List
You can add or delete group member(s)
Press [OK] and select [Add]
It will display a phonebook list excluding the members already in the
group. It is possible to set a member in multiple groups.
Press [Save]
1.7 SPEED DIAL
Use this menu to assign speed dial numbers (2 to 8) for your most
frequently called numbers.
Assigning speed dial entries
1. Enable speed dial “On” and go into “Set Number”
2. Select a key location from 2 to 8. Key 1 is reserved for your voice-
mail server.
3. Press [Option] soft key, and select ‘Edit’ and select the entry from the
phonebook list by pressing the [Add] soft key.
Managing speed dial entries
• Edit: assign a different number to a key.
• Delete: clear the speed dial setting for a key.
Dialing speed dial numbers
In Idle mode, press and hold the appropriate key.
1.8 SPECIAL NUMBER
You can view and edit your mobile phone number (owner number),
Service Dial number and SOS number.
• Owner Number: Use this feature to check your phone numbers, or to
assign a name to each of the numbers.
• Service Dial Number: lists up the SIM SDN (Service Dial Number) and
allows you to access to the number by pressing the [Dial] soft key (left)
or the Send key.
• SOS Number: lists up the SOS Number.
1.9 SETTINGS
You can view and edit the settings for the Phonebook as following.
Memory Status
You can check how many names and numbers are stored in the phone
book (SIM card and phone memories) or how much free space is
remained.
Preferred Storage
You can set your preferred storage either to SIM or to Phone as default
storage in the phonebook.
Fields
There are fields that you can set on or off in your phonebook entry.
(Home Number, Company Name, E-mail Address, Office Number, Fax
Number, Birthday, Associate Picture, Associate Video, Associate Sound
and Caller Group). Press the [On] or [Off] left soft key (left) to turn on or
off the field.
My vCard
You can edit, save and send My vCard. You can utilize My vCard as
your mobile business card.
• Edit My vCard
In the My vCard you can edit Name, Number, Home Number,
Company Name, E-mail Address, Office Number, and Fax Number.
• Send My vCard
You can send My vCard by SMS, MMS, IrDA, Bluetooth and File.

Human Voice Prompt
When the human voice prompt function is activated, the phone will
prompt the phone number in the phonebook entry list, in voice tone.
View Method
You can search Phone Book by selecting the storage.
• Search All: brings up all the saved phone listings in Phone & SIM card.
• From SIM: brings up the listing in SIM card
• From Phone: brings up the listings in Phone.
Caller Picture
When the Caller Picture is activated, the phone will prompt the phone
number in the phonebook entry list, by picture.
Caller Ring Tone
When the Caller Picture is activated, the phone will prompt the phone
number in the phonebook entry list, by selected ring tone.
Caller Video
When the Caller Picture is activated, the phone will prompt the phone
number in the phonebook entry list, by selected video.
2. Messages (Menu 2)
Use the Messages menu to send and receive short messages and
multimedia messages. You can also use a voice-mail, and cell broadcast
message features. To access this menu, press [Menu] in Idle mode and
select Messages. Message functions are available depending on
network services that your service provider supports.
2.1 SMS
The SMS (Short Message Service) function is a network service and
your network may or may not support the service.
When the icon appears on the status indicators area, it indicates
that you have received a new message.
Note:
• The Message service may not be available on all networks. Some
network allows it only within its own network.
• The maximum number of characters allowed in a short message
varies by service provider. If your message exceeds the maximum
number of characters, the phone will split the message.
Write Message
To send Text Message
Use this menu to create and send a message as following
1. Select [Write Message] menu in the [SMS] menu.
2. Make a message.
3. After you complete the message, press the [Option] soft key (left)
and then select “Done.” Choose one of following options.
1)Send Only: Sends the message to the recipient phone number. It
will not save the message.
2)Save and Send: Saves the message, and send it to the required
recipient.
3)Save Only: Saves the message so that you can send it later.
4)Send to Many: Send the message to multiple recipients. Select
Edit List to add up to 10 recipient(s).
5)Send by Group: Sends the message to the Caller Group. Select a
Caller Group from the list.
4. You can input the number directly or get from the phonebook by
pressing the [Search] soft key (left).
5. The phone will display the Message sending Success or Fail
message on the screen for all recipients.
Note:
If you receive a call while you are writing a message, the message will
be backed-up and after the call finishes, the phone will display [write
message] mode. You can finish the message without losing the data.
Inbox
This folder stores all of the messages you have received. You can
view the new text messages or the read messages.
It will display the sender’s phone number or name (if stored in the
Phonebook) on the list. If you choose the [Ok] soft key, you can
view the message contents.

Outbox
You can view the sent or unsent messages you have saved. Send,
Edit, Delete, Delete All and Use Number options are available.
Draft
This folder stores messages you have saved to send at a later time.
When you select an SMS, it opens in Edit mode so that you can edit
and/or send the message.
Template
Use this menu to make and use templates of frequently used
messages. You can create the templates with the sentences you use
frequently so that you can retrieve and insert them when composing
a message.
To create a template
1. Select an empty location and press [Edit].
2. Enter a message and save.
• Edit: edit the template.
• Erase: delete the selected template.
Message Settings
Within the Message Settings sub-menu, you can define default values
on common parameters for mobile-originated messages.
• Profile Settings: Depending on your service provider and service
plan, you can set the message profile settings.
• Common Setting: You can set on or off the following common
settings for SMS.
- Delivery Report
This allows you to set delivery report on or off. When this function
is set to on, the network informs you whether or not your message
has been delivered.
- Reply Path
This menu allows the recipient of your Message to send you a
reply via your message center, if the network provides Message
service. Press the [On] or [Off] soft key (left) to turn this option on
and off.
• Memory Status: This shows memory status of SMS in your SIM card
or Phone.
2.2 MMS
Multimedia Message Service (MMS) delivers messages containing a
combination of text, image, video, and audio, from phone to phone.
Note:
• The maximum size allowed for a message can differ, depending on
your service provider.
• Depending on the file type or DRM (Digital Rights Management)
system, some files may not be able to be forwarded.
Write Message
To send Multimedia Message
Use this menu to create and send a message as following
1. Select [Write Message] menu in the [MMS] menu.
2. Compose a message. You can edit To, CC, BCC, Subject, and
Content. You can input the number directly or get from the
phonebook by pressing the [Search] soft key.
3. After you complete the message, press the [Option] soft key (left)
and then select “Done.” Choose one of following options.
1)Send Only: Sends the message. It will not save the message.
2)Save and Send: Saves the message, and send it to required
recipient(s).
3)Save to Drafts: Saves the message to Drafts. You may send it
later.
4)Send Options: Validity Period, Delivery Report, Read Report,
Priority
5)Exit: Exits the Write Message, the phone will ask if you want to
save the message.
The phone will display the Message sending Success or Fail message
on the screen for all recipients.
Message Settings
Within the MMS sub-menu, you can define default values on common
parameters for mobile-originated messages. By setting default values
for MMS messages, you can experience a more comfortable service.
You can set up the MMS related parameters for sending and retrieving
the MMS messages.
2.3 Voice Mail
Your phone is capable of dialing with voice-mail server number (if

provided by your network). If you receive any voice-mail, your phone
displays New Message in the idle screen.
Select the Voice Mail from the list and press [Option] soft key (left). You
can Edit the Voice Mail server number.
By selecting the Connect to Voice, your phone will dial to the
configured number that has been stored in Voice Mail list. You can then
listen to the voice-mail.
Note:
Voice mail is a network feature. Please contact your service provider
for more information.
2.4 Broadcast Message
This network service allows you to receive the broadcast messages on
various topics such as weather, traffic, local district code, local hospitals,
taxis or pharmacy in your area.
For more information about broadcast message topics, please contact
your service provider.
The phone will display the Broadcast Messages immediately when
received, on the following condition:
1) When the phone is in the idle mode
2) When the Receive Mode (2.4.1) option is set to On
3) When the message channel is currently active in the channel list.
Note:
This service may not be available on all networks. For more
information about the available subjects, please contact your network
service provider.
The following options are available:
1) Receive Mode: You can turn the receive mode on and off by
pressing the soft key (left).
Allows you to enable or disable the reception of the broadcasted text
messages.
2) Read Message: With this menu, you can read all the broadcasted
text messages received. The title area of the screen will display the
name of the message subject item. Whenever the phone receives new
contents, the phone will update the contents of the message subject.
3) Languages: Allows you to select your preferred language for
displaying cell broadcast messages. The number of languages you can
select depends on your SIM card.
4) Channel Settings: Allows you to indicate the channels from which
you wish to receive broadcast messages.
This menu allows you to read, add and delete the list by using Select,
Add, Edit and Delete option. The number of items in the list depends
on your SIM card. It will display all items you selected.

your network service provider.
3.CallHistory(Menu3)
Use this menu to view the calls you have dialed, received, or missed, and
the length of the calls. You can also check the cost of your calls, if the
SIM card supports this function.
To access this menu, press [Menu] in Idle mode and select Call History.
3.1 Missed Calls
This menu displays the most recent 10 received calls that you did not
answer. In the missed calls list, you can view the details of the record by
pressing the [Ok] soft key (left). In the view screen, you can make a call
to the number by pressing the Send Key. The following options are
available:
1)Delete: Allows you to delete the record
2)Save to Phone Book: Allows you to save the record to the phonebook
3)Dial: Allows you to call back to the recorded number
4)Edit: Allows you to edit the number and save to the phonebook
3.2 Dialed Calls
This menu displays the most recent calls you have dialed.
In the dialed calls list, you can view the details of the record by pressing
the [Ok] soft key (left). In the view screen, you can make a call to the
number by pressing the Send Key.
3.3 Received Calls
This menu displays the most recent calls you have received.
