This chapter pr o v ide s i n structi o ns for first- time inst allation and use of the IP Phone . Y o u will insert the batter y into
the
IP Phone and then set it up for your wi r e l e ss ne twork and Inter net phone serv ice . Th en you wi ll be able to mak e
and r e ceive Inter n et phone calls.
Inse rting the Battery into the EZLoop® 3rd Generation Wi-Fi Phone
T o ins e r t t h e ba tt er y, fo ll o w t h ese i n str u c ti o ns:
1. Remo ve the co ver of the batter y compartment. Push do wn on the bu tton a nd slide the c o ver do wnw a r d.
2. Ins e rt the batter y. Mak e sure the metal contacts of the batter y line up w it h the metal c o nt ac ts of the
ba tter y c o mpartment.
3. I n sert the door and slide it upw ar d until it snaps into pl ace .

Make sur e yo u have the a ccount information, includi ng necessary IP Phone settings, supplied by your Inter n et
phone serv i c e prov ider . If you al r e ad y have an account set up wi th you r Inter net phone serv i c e pr o v ider , then
proc ee d to step 1. If you do not have an account, then go to the website of your In ter net phone serv i c e pr o v ider
and sign up for serv i c e . After you ha ve set up an account, proceed to step 1.
1. Mak e sure you have the account i n for mation, incl uding necessary IP Phon e setti ngs, suppl ied b y your
I n ter net phone serv ice provider .
2. Plug the USB mini -B c o nne ctor of the i n clu ded po wer ad a p ter into the U S B mi ni-B port of the IP Phone . Then
c o nne ct th e po wer a d apter to a standar d e l ec tr ica l outlet.
3. T h e power LED wil l fl ash, alter n at ing between blue and purple. For the ini t ial char ge , al low the batter y to
charge for at least 1 0 hours, so the batter y wil l ha ve a ful l c h ar ge , whic h i s i ndicated b y a sol i dly li t power
L E D . Th is maximizes batter y perfor manc e and li fe .
NO TE: When the batter y is low on po wer , i t w ill emit one w a r n i ng sound or vib r ation,
unl ess the Ring T ype is set to Silent. (For mor e infor mat ion about R i ng T ypes, r e fer to

Setting up the EZLoop® 3rd Generation Wi-Fi Phone

I f WEP security is enab led on the se lecte d network, a new scr e en will a ppear. Using the navigation
pad, select
the appropriate transmit k e y number and then move to the WEP Key fi eld. Enter the
netw ork’ s WEP key . Pr ess the center selection k e y.
If WP A se cur i ty i s e n abl e d on t h e s e l e cte d network, a new scr e en will appear. Enter the
ne two r k’ s WP A key . Pr ess the ce nte r sele ction key .
