WARNING! Photosensitive Seizures
A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual im-
ages, including ashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have
no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these „pho-
tosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games. These seizures may have a variety
of symptoms, including light-headedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking
of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also
cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking
nearby objects. Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these
symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms – children
and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures.
The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions:
• Sit farther from the TV screen.
• Use a smaller TV screen.
• Play in a well-lit room.
• Do not play when you are drowsy or fatigued.
If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before play-
ing.
WARNING! Musculoskeletal disorders
Use of game controllers, keyboards, mice, or other electronic input devices may be linked to seri-
ous injuries or disorders. When playing video games, as with many activities, you may experience
occasional discomfort in your hands, arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body. However,
if you experience symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching,
tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or sti󰀨ness, DO NOT IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS.
PROMPTLY SEE A QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, even if symptoms occur when you
are not playing a video game. Symptoms such as these can be associated with painful and some-
times permanently disabling injuries or disorders of the nerves, muscles, tendons, blood vessels,
and other parts of the body. These musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) include carpal tunnel syn-
drome, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, vibration syndromes, and other conditions.
While researchers are not yet able to answer many questions about MSDs, there is general
agreement that many factors may be linked to their occurrence, including medical and physical
conditions, stress and how one copes with it, overall health, and how a person positions and
uses their body during work and other activities (including playing a video game). Some studies
suggest that the amount of time a person performs an activity may also be a factor. If you have
questions about how your own lifestyle, activities, or medical or physical condition may be related
to MSDs, see a qualied health professional.

ATTENTION
• The device must not be exposed to rain or humidity in order to avoid risk of re and or electric
shock.
• Operating room temperature: 60°F-95°F

The recommended operation time of the wheel with continuous force feedback activity is 1 hour.
Let the wheel cool down for a few minutes before you continue.
• Excessive use may cause health risks. Take a break of 5 minutes every 20 minutes, and do not
drive for more than 2 hours per day.
• We strongly advise you to not drive a vehicle immediately after using a video game.
• Utilization of the vibration and Force Feedback function may cause damage to your health.
• In case of interference with other wireless 2.4 GHz devices, the interfering devices must be
removed or switched o󰀨.
• Not intended for children under the age of 6 years old. Contains small pieces which pose a
choking hazard!
• Do not open the casing of the device.
• This device contains components that cannot be repaired by the user, opening will void the
warranty.
WARNING! Electrical Safety
The CSL Elite F1® Set must be connected to an appropriate power source:
•
Use only the power supply and power cord that came with your CSL Elite F1® Set. Replacements
may only be issued from an authorized repair center.
• Do not use non-standard power sources, such as generators or inverters, even if the voltage
and frequency appear acceptable. Only use AC power provided by a standard wall outlet.
• To avoid damage, do not expose your CSL Elite F1® Set to sources of heat.
•
When connecting and / or disconnecting any Steering Wheel (e.g. Porsche 918 RSR or Universal
Hub) to / from CSL Elite F1® Set take care of the pins inside the quick release.
• Only use Fanatec® Steering Wheels with the CSL Elite Wheel Base +.
• Do not try to use the CSL Elite F1® Set with an external power source di󰀨erent from the power
supply packaged with the CSL Elite F1® Set or received from an authorized repair center.
•
Unplug the power cord of your CSL Elite F1® Set during storms or when unused for long periods
of time.
• If the CSL Elite F1® Set becomes damaged in any way, stop using it immediately and contact
Fanatec® Customer Support.

• This product contains the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1® Esports, all other Fanatec® steering
wheels which might be mentioned in this manual are not included within the CSL Elite F1®Set
package and sold separately.
• Additional peripheral devices like shifters, LED displays and others which might be mentioned
in this manual are not included within the CSL Elite F1® Set package and are sold separately.

This manual discusses assembly, connections, and functions related to Fanatec® steering
wheels and other additional devices (e.g. PlayStation®4 and PC’s.) This is not a replacement
manual for the other corresponding products! Read the quick guides or user manuals for the

INTRODUCTION
COMPATIBILITY
Thank you for purchasing Fanatec sim racing hardware. O󰀩cially licensed by
Formula 1™, this innovative product is being used by professional F1®Esports
teams to compete at the highest level. The CSL Elite Wheel Base + enables
compatibility on PS4™, providing powerful and smooth force feedback using
a single belt drive and DirectSensor™ technology. The CSL Elite Pedals are
highly adjustable, and made from solid aluminum to ensure durability and sta-
bility. The ClubSport Steering Wheel F1® Esports is inspired by cutting-edge
F1 technology, with a cutaway grip design wrapped in genuine Alcantara®. The
27cm diameter wheel allows for fast movements and reactions. The lightness
and compact shape means that force feedback is delivered to your hands with
precision and detail.
The CSL Elite F1® Set (CSL E F1 SET) can be used with a wide range of CSL
and ClubSport series steering wheels. Using di󰀨erent wheels helps to create
a more realistic feeling based on the type of vehicle being simulated, and your
driving style. It’s up to you! Additional peripheral devices from Fanatec® such as
pedals, shifters, and handbrake are fully compatible with the CSL Elite F1® Set.

The CSL Elite F1® Set can be used on PlayStation®4 and other platforms*.
IMPORTANT: Before rst use the CSL Elite F1® Set must be updated
to the latest rmware version which is available on our website www.

PLUG & PLAY

This chapter shows just a quick plug & play guide and is not a replacement for
the chapters afterwards, we recommend reading the later chapters to achieve
the best user experience. Especially refer to chapter 10 ‘Troubleshooting’ for
commonly asked questions.
Compress and hold the Quick Release
mechanism. Slide ClubSport Steer-
ing Wheel F1® Esports onto CSL Elite
Wheel Base + axle. Now release the
sleeve of the Quick Release mecha-
nism.
Mount the table clamp to the base
bottom side and clamp the CSL Elite
Wheel Base + to your table.
Connect your CSL Elite Pedals and other peripheral devices (not included) to
the corresponding port at the CSL Elite Wheel Base + back side.
Also connect the PS4TM
system or your PC* to
the USB port and plug in
the power supply.

Power on the CSL Elite Wheel Base + and wait until
calibration run is completed.
Switch to the mode you want to use by pressing the
mode button:
• Blue indicates „PlayStation®4 mode“
• Red indicates „PC* mode“
Additional after pressing the Mode Button 3

• Yellow indicates „ClubSport Wheel Base V2
compatibility mode“

For use on PS4TM systems please press the PS button at the beginning to
connect the wheel to the active user prole. The PlayStation®4 will display a
system notication on your screen.
Your setup is ready to use now. If you have di󰀩culties please check the follow-

each of the above steps.

ASSEMBLY
6.1 Plan your conguration
To operate the CSL Elite F1® Set, ensure the steering wheel is fully seated on
the quick release shaft of the wheel base, and connect the pedals to the correct
socket on the back of the wheel base using the included RJ12 cable. Then con-
nect the CSL Elite F1® Set to your PlayStation®4 system (or other platform*)
with the included USB cable.
IMPORTANT: Only use the USB cable supplied with your CSL Elite
F1® Set. Failure to do this may cause damage to the CSL Elite F1® Set or
PlayStation®4 electronics!
Please check the ‘Connections’ chapter for details about peripherals and where
they should connect to the CSL Elite F1® Set. All devices have to be connected
to the CSL Elite F1® Set before powering ON to allow proper detection and
operation.
Additional peripheral devices such as shifters are not strictly required but can
enhance the realism of driving certain vehicle types. We recommend using
devices from the Fanatec® ClubSport platform like the ClubSport Shifter SQ,
or the ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles and more. Visit our Webshop at www.
fanatec.com for more compatible products.
6.2 Mounting the CSL Elite F1® Set using the Table Clamp
Insert the threaded rod with handles into the table clamp.

Turn the table clamp bolt into the bottom center of the
CSL Elite F1® Set.
Slide the CSL Elite F1® Set onto the table plate until the
limiter blocks are ush with the table edge. The table
clamp must be below the table top.
Tighten the table clamp by turning the table clamp bolt.
Ensure that the table clamp feet remain well aligned
with the underside of the table.

6.3 Hard-mounting the CSL Elite Wheel Base +
The CSL Elite Wheel Base + o󰀨ers a three-point hard-mount location on the
bottom side of the CSL Elite Wheel Base + (see the right-hand side picture
below.) To hard-mount the wheel base, rst disassemble the two blocks from
the bottom side with a 3mm Allen key (not included), see highlighted on the left
hand picture below:
IMPORTANT: Use only good quality M6 bolts. Choose the bolt length
so that the thread does not reach more than 16 mm into the wheel base.
Example: If your table thickness is 20 mm the bolt must not exceed a to-
tal thread length of 36 mm! Always use all three hard-mount points, this
allows a proper and stable installation and avoids damage!

Compress and hold the Quick Release
mechanism.
Slide the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1®Esports
onto the CSL Elite Wheel Base + axle.
6.4 Attaching the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1®Esports
Remove the storage pin.
Align the CSL Elite Wheel Base + axle to the
correct position.
Now release the sleeve of the
Quick Release mechanism.
IMPORTANT: Take care not to use too much force while attaching the
ClubSport Steering Wheel F1® Esports to avoid damage! You may need
to push the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1®Esports with a slightly higher
force onto the wheel base axis, particularly on the last 8 mm due to the
O-ring on the wheel base axis.

6.5 Detaching the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1®Esports
Compress and hold the Quick Release
mechanism.
Slide the ClubSport Steering Wheel F1®Esports
o󰀨 from the CSL Elite Wheel Base + axle.
Compress and hold the Quick Release
mechanism.
For long-term storage, insert the storage
pin.
Release the sleeve of the Quick Release
mechanism.

Slide the CSL Elite Steering Wheel
onto the wheel base + axle.
Turn the CSL Elite Steering Wheel top side down to see the bottom side of
the clamp ring to follow the next step below.
Push the CSL Elite Steering Wheel until the bolt hole
aligns with the hole on the CSL Elite Wheel Base +
axle.
Align the CSL Elite Wheel Base +.
6.6 Attaching a CSL Steering Wheel with Simplied Quick Release
Use clamp ring bolt (M6 x 18mm at head)
and Allen key from box contents.
Tighten the bolt to x the clamp ring mechanism. Use
only the Allen key which comes with the CSL Elite
Wheel Base +.
IMPORTANT: Tighten only by using the short lever of the Allen key!

6.7 Detaching a Fanatec®CSL Steering Wheel
Remove the xing bolt and open clamp ring mechanism.
Use only the Allen key which comes with the steering
wheel.
Carefully slide the steering wheel o󰀨 the axle.
Store the clamp ring bolt and the Allen key safely.

For assembly of the ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles, position the black wash-
ers included with the CSL Elite F1® Set between wheel base front plate and the
static shifter paddles plate to ensure proper tting.
IMPORTANT: ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles are sold separately
and not included within the CSL Elite F1® Set package contents. Mount-
ing bolts for the ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles are included within the
package contents of the ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles.
6.9 CSL Elite Pedals Assembly
Combine the brake and gas pedal units with the heel rest and tighten the bolts.
Avoid clamping the cables of the pedal units!
6.8 ClubSport Static Shifter Paddles
On the front plate of the CSL Elite Wheel Base
+ there are four threaded holes with gears which
are used for mounting the ClubSport Static Shifter
Paddles as shown in the picture below:
