Instruction Manual
The BlueRay Sport Video Light is an ultra-compact,
durable and powerful video light, which was
designed to enhance color and lighting in
underwater videos. It can be used with any
underwater video system. It is lightweight and
features a compact design, which allows it to be
comfortably integrated in small-sized photo
systems, such as with action cams, waterproof and
amphibious cameras, compact digital housings and
more. With a burn time of 160 minutes in full
power per set of batteries, the light can be used for
a whole diving day without having to charge it in
between the dives. Adjustable power output allows
controlling the intensity of the beam in various
compositions and diving conditions, as well as extending the burn time of the light. Color
temperature of the beam is slightly warmer than daylight, which assists with producing vivid and
colorful videos without having to use any color correction filters. The light features a wide beam
angle of 75 degrees, making it suitable to light a wide range of compositions.
Depth rated to 100 meters/330 feet, the BlueRay Sport Video Light fulfills the needs of both
recreational and technical divers.

Instructions for Use
A. Installing & Removing Batteries
a. Please read the following information and warnings prior to purchasing and installing
batteries inside the BlueRay Sport Video Light:
i. Only 2 x CR123/CR123A 3-Volt Lithium batteries or a single 18650
rechargeable 3.7-volt Li-Ion battery should be installed inside the light.
ii. Installation of rechargeable CR123 Li-on batteries inside the light is strictly
forbidden, as this will burn out the light and may cause irreparable damage.
iii. If installing an 18650 battery inside the light, make sure that it features a
protective circuit board (PCB). 18650 batteries with a protective circuit board
are also known as 19670.
iv. Warning! Lithium-ion batteries can explode or cause a fire if they are used
incorrectly or if they are defective. Therefore, you are recommended to read
the following instructions very carefully:
1) Each time before using the battery, carefully check the battery and in
particular the protective seal/casing to make sure that it is undamaged and
intact. If in doubt, take the battery to a chemical waste disposal facility.
2) Always handle the battery with care. Never drop the battery!
3) Store the battery in a safe and dry place and keep the battery away from
all metal objects.
4) Never expose the battery to temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius.
5) Only use chargers that have specially been designed for use with lithium-
ion batteries.
6) When charging batteries, keep the charger away from highly flammable
materials or products and never leave the charger unattended when in
use.
7) Please follow the guidelines and restrictions of the batteries you purchase
in order to avoid any damage.
b. To open the BlueRay Sport Video Light, hold the hand grip firmly in one hand with the
hand grip pointing towards your body and the LED head pointing away. Turn the LED head
clockwise until it separates. Pull the LED head off.
c. Install or remove 1 x 18650 Li-ion battery or 2 x CR123 batteries inside the body of the
light. Make sure to follow the instructions diagrams printed on the interior of the battery
compartment and note that batteries should be installed with their positive ends pointed
towards the LED head.
d. Once batteries were installed inside the light, re-install the LED head on the opening,
carefully aligning it with the thread on the body of the light and tightening it evenly in a
counterclockwise fashion. Do not use force and do not allow it to screw down unevenly.
Tighten the LED head until the light goes on and then unscrew it clockwise a bit, just

enough for the light to turn off. Once the light is turned off, do not continue turning the
LED head, or else the watertight seal of the light may be affected and possible flooding
may result.
e. Take special care not to stare into the light beam or shine it into the eyes of anyone else,
because the light is powerful and could damage ones’ eyes.
f. It is recommended to occasionally apply a slight amount of silicone grease to the black O-
ring seal found below the threads of the body of the light prior to replacing the LED head.
B. Turning the BlueRay Sport Video Light On/Off
a. In order to switch the light on, hold the hand grip firmly in one hand with the hand grip
pointing towards your body and the LED head pointing away. Carefully turn the LED head
counterclockwise all the way to the end.
b. In order to switch the light back off, turn the LED head in a clockwise fashion just enough
for the light to turn off.
c. Once the light is turned off, do not continue turning the LED head, or else the watertight
seal of the light may be affected and possible flooding may result.
d. Please note: If you are turning the LED head more than half a turn and nothing happens,
you are probably turning it the wrong way.
e. Note that the BlueRay Sport Video Light features two power output levels: 100% and 40%.
In order to switch between the two power output levels, once the light is turned on, turn
the LED head clockwise just enough for the light to turn off and then turn it
counterclockwise until it turns on again. Each time the light is turned off and on again
alters the output level.
C. Mounting the BlueRay Sport Video Light on an Arm
a. An optional BlueRay YS Mount A (Cat. No. 4028) enables mounting the BlueRay Sport
Video Light on any arm or connector that features a standard YS Mount at the top, such as
on Fantasea Flex Arms.
b. In order to install the BlueRay YS Mount A on the BlueRay Sport Video Light, first apply a
slight amount of silicone grease on the two O-rings featured on the interior of the YS
Mount without removing them. This will allow for a smoother installation.
c. Remove the hand lanyard from the light.
d. Install the YS Mount by sliding it on the body of the light, starting from its rear end and all
the way towards the LED head, till it reaches a widening and can no longer be slid forward.
e. Re-install the hand lanyard back on the light.
f. Remove the screw from the bottom of the YS Mount by unscrewing it all the way out.
g. Position the BlueRay Sport Video Light over the arm so that the YS Mount on top of the
arm is aligned with the YS Mount at the bottom of the LED light.
h. Install the screw all the way through the YS Mount and arm connectors. Tighten it enough
to keep the LED light in a fixed position.

D. Care & Maintenance
a. After each dive, carefully soak and rinse exterior components in fresh water.
b. Store the BlueRay Sport Video Light in a protected, dry and shaded area.
c. Remove batteries when storing the LED light for an extended period of time.
d. Please note that there is never a need to use force when closing or opening the light or
when turning it on or off.
Fantasea Products Consumer Limited Warranty
“Fantasea” warrants this Fantasea Line branded product against defects in materials and
workmanship under reasonable use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR, (two years, where
required by law as determined by the origin of the authorized dealer). This warranty is
effective from the date of retail purchase from Fantasea or an authorized Fantasea
dealer, by the original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). This warranty does not
cover any commercial use of the product. If a product defect arises and a valid claim is
received within the Warranty Period, at its option, Fantasea, or its authorized service
facilities will either (1) repair the product defect at no charge, (2) exchange the product
with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable
used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product. The warranty
will not extend beyond the original warranty period.
Your Fantasea Product should be registered within 30 days of purchase. You must keep
the proof of purchase which indicates the date on which the purchase was made; as you
may be required to show proof of purchase if you need warranty service. The following
conditions apply: 1. This warranty extends to the original purchaser only. It is not
assignable or transferable. 2. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from
misuse, abuse, negligence, or accidents. Proper maintenance of the Product is the
responsibility of the owner. 3. The warranty does not cover damage directly or indirectly
resulting from the use of unauthorized replacement parts or service performed by
unauthorized facilities. 4. This warranty does not cover any damage to any other product
used in conjunction with the Fantasea product, including cameras and lenses, and
resulting from any defect in the product materials or workmanship. 5. The cost of
sending the product back to Fantasea or its authorized service facilities is the
responsibility of the customer. 6. The warranty does not cover any incidental damages
resulting from any defects in the product. This expressly includes any travel
reimbursements or any other costs associated with the purchaser’s optional use of the
product. The conditions of this warranty are expressly in lieu of all other expressed
warranties, including the payment of consequential or incidental damages for the
