1GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Do not try to operate the winch at higher performance levels than those for which it
was designed, in particular regarding the magnitude of the load to be lifted. In
other words, do not make demands of the winch in excess of its maximum pulling
capacity.
2. Use the winch exclusively for pulling, and only in the manner and intended use
described in this instruction manual.
3. Before operation, always check:
the efficiency and integrity of the winch and the cable;
the strength and integrity of the support structure to which the winch is
attached;
4. During use, maintain control of the winch.
The operators represent the most important aspect of safety. To best protect against the risk
of injury, work cautiously and carefully.
5. The manual winch should not be used and repaired by someone under the influence of
drugs or alcohol.
1.1 Risks Associated with the Work Area
1. Keep the work area tidy and free of clutter; untidiness causes accidents.
2. Keep unqualified people, children, etc. away from the work environment and the winch.
Always check that there is space to escape.
1.2 Personal protective equipment
When using the winch, always wear the following:
Safety shoes;
Work gloves

2DESCRIPTION AND INTENDED USE
The winch Art. 0070/C is a device to be used for the horizontal "pulling" of vehicles or other
loads that move on a horizontal flat surface (or slightly tilted). They can be mounted on
vehicles such as trailers, three-wheeled vans, boats, etc.
Crushing and Cutting
Winches are NOT lifting equipment.
It is absolutely forbidden to lift objects vertically.
The winch is composed of (Figure 2):

3IMPROPER USE AND CONTRAINDICATIONS
IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN!!
To use the winch for lifting loads (vertical pull). The Winch is not a lifting device.
To lift people, animals or things.
To pull loads weighing more than the MAXIMUM PULLING CAPACITY of the winch
indicated on the rating plate.
To pull loads placed laterally and not frontally;
To use an extension on the operation handle to increase the pulling force;
To attach the winch to a fixed structure or a vehicle with insufficient strength;
To leave the winch unattended with the cable in tension;
To introduce objects or body parts between the steel cable while winding and the drum;
To operate the winch with less than five turns wound on the drum;
To move the vehicle on which the winch is mounted to increase the pulling force;
To stand less than 1.5 m from the winch or cable, when the cable is under tension;
To allow untrained personnel to use the winch;
To use the winch when not psycho-physically fit to do so;
To use the winch for purposes other than those for which it was designed.

4COMMISSIONING
The winch is supplied in a cardboard box completely assembled, with the exception of the
operation handle.
Before disposing of the shipping carton, check you do not to throw away parts of the machine,
the owner's manual or other documentation
Standard packaging
Packaging materials (bags, cardboard, etc.). must not be left within reach of children as they
are a source of potential danger.
To assemble the handle, proceed as shown in the following figures:
1. Mount the handle onto the rotation pin of the winch;
2. Secure the handle in place by tightening the fastening nut with a wrench.
Figure 4 –Installing the handle
The winch must be mounted on a suitable support structure, with adequate resistance
characteristics. This structure must be able to withstand the stresses resulting from operating
the winch (max pulling capacity 500 kg).
In this regard it would be possible for example to use the most robust parts or sections of the
chassis of motor vehicles or boats.
Check that the screws, plate and all the parts of the Winch are free of deformation or damage
prior to installation.
Secure the steel casing of the winch to the supporting structure, using the fastening holes on
the casing itself.
Mounting the Winch
ALWAYS check that the fastening screws of the Winch are fully tightened, before operating
with loads.

5HOW TO USE
5.1 Pulling the load
Crushing / Impacts
IT IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN to lift loads. The Winch is not designed for that purpose!
At least 3 wraps of cable!
Before putting tension on the cable and pulling the load, CHECK that the cable is wrapped
around the drum at least three times.
The load must only be pulled with the load in a frontal position
with respect to the winding drum (Figure 5).
Figure 5 –Pulling direction
1. Attach the cable to the object to be moved;
2. Rotate the handle clockwise to wind the cable onto the
drum, pulling the load.

Overloading
Never use an extension on the operation handle, but only use the grip on the handle.
Winding the cable
When pulling the load, inspect the cable layout, which must be properly wrapped on the drum
with a spacing equal to the diameter of the cable (Figure 7).
Figure 7 –Arrangement of the cable.
5.2 Releasing the load
Crushing / Impacts
Before releasing the load, by unhooking the safety tab, hold the handle firmly!
1. Hold the operation handle of the winch with one hand in
a safe and secure manner;
2. Unhook the safety tab of the winch, with the other hand,
pushing it downwards as shown in Figure 8.
3. Rotate the handle anti-clockwise to unwind the cable from
the drum, releasing the load.

3. Lubricate moving parts
X
1. General visual inspection: check the overall condition of the winch, particularly for
any damaged or missing parts. Also check for the presence and legibility of the plate.
Cable wear
If the cable shows signs of deterioration, replace it with a cable that has the same features
and ensure it has the same maximum pulling capacity.
2. General cleaning: cleaning is necessary to rid the body of oil deposits, dust or dirt
accumulation.
Risks associated with cleaning
Perform cleaning only when the winch is unloaded and the cable is not under tension. Do not
use organic solvents to avoid corrosion or discoloration.
3. Lubrication of moving parts: lubricate all the gears and all the moving parts of the
winch using grease.
