Purpose:
On all Finn machines equipped with a Yanmar 3TNV88C-DYEM engine (031504), some engine settings
are set at the factory and are password protected to prevent tampering. When a new replacement
control box assembly or display is installed on one of these machines, those settings need to be re-input
for proper operation of the engine and machine. This Technical Bulletin provides the steps for this
process. The steps for BB302 machines differ slightly from the rest and are detailed separately below.
DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THE SETTINGS PROVIDE BELOW. OPERATING THE MACHINE WITH
SETTINGS OTHER THAN THOSE APPROVED HEREIN BY FINN CORPORATION COULD RESULT IN
DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT, DEATH, OR SERIOUS INJURY.

Steps (T90, T120, B70):
1. After display or control box is installed, Turn the key switch to “ON”. It is not necessary to start
the engine.
2. On the display, press any key to activate the Soft Key menu.

3. Press the middle Soft Key with the wrench icon above it to access the Main Menu.
4. Scroll down with the down arrow key to "Engine Settings" and press the right arrow Soft Key to enter.
5. Enter the password, which on the Soft Keys is MIDDLE-MIDDLE-LEFT-RIGHT.
6. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Min RPM” and press the right arrow to enter.
7. Using the “-“ or “+” Soft Keys, adjust the setting to 1000 rpm.
8. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
9. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Max RPM” and press the right arrow to enter.

10. Using the “-“ or “+” Soft Keys, adjust the setting to 3000 rpm.
11. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
12. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Droop/Iso” and press the right arrow to enter.
13. Using the right “Change” Soft Key, cycle the setting to Isochronos.
14. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
15. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Throttle Type” and press the right arrow to enter.
16. Using the right “Change” Soft Key, cycle the setting to Ramp.
17. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
18. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to save all settings and return to the Main Menu.
19. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key again to return to the display mode.
20. Turn the key switch to "OFF".

Steps (BB302):
1. After display or control box is installed, Turn the key switch to “ON”.
2. Press the engine start (ENG START) button on the key pad one time to turn on the fuel pump.
After the fuel pump has run, press and hold the engine start (ENG START) button until the engine
starts.
3. On the display, press any key to activate the Soft Key menu.
4. Press the middle Soft Key with the wrench icon above it to access the Main Menu.
5. Scroll down with the down arrow key to "Engine Settings" and press the right arrow Soft Key to enter.
6. Enter the password, which on the Soft Keys is MIDDLE-MIDDLE-LEFT-RIGHT.

7. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Min RPM” and press the right arrow to enter.
8. Using the “-“ or “+” Soft Keys, adjust the setting to 1000 rpm.
9. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
10. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Max RPM” and press the right arrow to enter.
11. Using the “-“ or “+” Soft Keys, adjust the setting to 2800 rpm.
12. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
13. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Droop/Iso” and press the right arrow to enter.
14. Using the right “Change” Soft Key, cycle the setting to Isochronos.
15. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.

16. Scroll down with the down arrow key to “Throttle Type” and press the right arrow to enter.
17. Using the right “Change” Soft Key, cycle the setting to Ramp.
18. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to return to the Engine Settings Menu.
19. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key to save all settings and return to the Main Menu.
20. Press the left “Exit” Soft Key again to return to the display mode.
21. Press the engine stop (ENG STOP) button on the key pad one time to turn off the engine.
22. Turn the key switch to "OFF".
