INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PART 2
Removing the Filter
If you are replacing the filter, first press the push button to open the water
filter cover, pull the old water filter downward and turn it counter-clock-
wise to pull it out. Make sure to rotate the filter down completely before
pulling it out of the manifold hole.
ATTENTION!
Please remember to prepare a rag to absorb water leaks when removing
the old filter.

INSTALLING THE FILTER IN A BOTTOM FREEZER REFRIGERATOR
1. Remove the top shelf. If the top shelf, which is located below the
water filter, is in the highest position,it will need to be removed.
This can be done in two simple steps:

removing the old filter.

3. Remove old water filter.
Pull the old water filter downward and turn it counter-clockwise to
pull it out. Make sure to rotate the filter down completely before pulling it
out of the manifold hole.
4. Install new water filter.
Take a new water filter out of its packaging and remove the protective
cover from the o-rings.
Apply the month and year sticker to the new cartridge to remind you
to replace the filter in 3-6 months.
With the filter tats in the horizontal position, push the new filter into the
manifold hole, rotate it up into place, and close the cover.

5. Remove trapped air.
Now that the filter is replaced, dispense 2.5 gallons of water to remove
trapped air and contaminants from the system. Depress and release
the dispenser pad for cycles of 30 seconds ON and 60 seconds OFF,
rather than dispensing continuously.
If your model is equipped with a water filter indicator on the display,
press and hold the FILTER button or RESET button for approximately 5
seconds to reset the filter indicator.
To reduce the risk associated with choking, do not allow children
under 3 years of age to have access to small parts during the installa-
tion of this product.

NOTICE
To reduce the risk associated with property damage due to water
leakage:
1. Read and follow use instructions before installation and use of this
system.
2. Installation and use must comply with all state and local plumbing
codes.
3. Do not install if water pressure exceeds 100 psi (6.8 bar). If your
water pressure exceeds 60 psi (4.1 bar), you must install a pressure-
limiting valve. Contact a plumbing professional if you are uncertain
how to check your water pressure.
4. Water hammer conditions exist you must install a water hammer
arrester. Contact a plumbing professional if you are uncertain how to
check for this condition.
5. Do not install on hot water supply lines. The maximum operating
water temperature of this filter system is 100º F (38º C).
6. Protect filter from freezing. Drain filter when temperatures drop
below 33ºF (0.6ºC).
7. The disposable filter cartridge should be replaced every 3-6
months at the rated capacity, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in
flow rate occurs.

Q: The water is coming out dirty/gray aer I installed the filter. Is this
normal?
A: Yes that is normal. There is a carbon block inside the filter and
sometime during shipping the filter gets knocked around and some of
that carbon gets loose. If you drain 2-3 gallons, the water will become
clear.
